[Weego] Who's this?

Yeah, I work with Judith.

Is she with you by any chance?

She told me to call you at this number.

She said she'd be there.

- Is she there?

- [line disconnects]

Hello?

Why do you need Weego?

Come on, do you know the guy or not?

I've seen him in here.

They say he's the guy

with the strong stuff.

He's a middleman.

He'll take you from point A to point B.

Like the subway.

[man] I know him.

He hangs out with all those crack dealers.

Whenever he saves up some money,

he'd stay with them

and get high for a couple of days.

[indistinct chatter]

You know Weego?

Weego?

[indistinct yelling]

Excuse me. Weego?

[tense music playing]

[dramatic music playing]

[people yelling]

[all yelling]

[grunts]

- [Guillaume] Wait!

- [Daco] We just want to talk to you!

[Guillaume] Wait!

We're not cops! Dude, we're not cops!

- We just want to talk to you! Just wait!

- [Guillaume] Hey, what're you doing?

[panting]

Oh, f*cking b*tch!

[panting]

f*ck!

What did Judith have to do with this guy?

[Daco] I don't know. [panting]

Don't die on me.

[breathing heavily]

[wheezing]

You okay?

- You good?

- [breathing heavily]

Oh, f*ck.

[breathing heavily]

f*ck, you scared me.

I thought you were dying.

It feels like that.

[Guillaume breathing heavily]

You okay?

[tense music playing]

I lost the two people I loved the most

because I got there too late.

[sighs]

[breathing heavily]

[door opens, closes]

Come on. Get out.

- [Guillaume] What time is it?

- 7:00.

[sighs]

sh*t, Isaac!

[indistinct chatter]

[panting]

- [bell tolling]

- [brakes squeal]

Oh, sh*t! We missed him. We're late.

"We"?

[sighs]

Hey, bro, I woke up.

Come on. Do you think

we'll get there in 20 minutes?

- My car's parked just over there.

- Okay, let's go! Hurry!

[solemn music playing]

Look, man, what do I tell the judge?

That I read books about European history

or books by Tolkien?

That I took a writing course?

Yeah, say that.

[Judith] And don't forget to use

all the formalities.

"Hello, Your Honor."

"If you'll allow me, Your Honor."

"Goodbye, Your Honor." [chuckles]

[Guillaume] You sure you got 'em all?

Isaac, don't listen to her.

Let's not overdo it.

[chuckles]

Hey, how about my collection

of plates from stolen cars?

Oh yeah, sure. Brilliant.

[laughs] You're gonna make

quite the impression.

[chuckles softly]

[sighs]

Thanks for the ride.

I'm gonna go with him to make sure

that he doesn't back out on us.

Okay, great. I'll leave you alone

and maybe take a shower.

- Yeah, I think you better.

- [laughs]

Guys, what about me?

What do I tell the judge?

Sorry. Come on, let's go.

Hey! So, then, did I pass?

I'm not sure yet. I better go.

I'll call you, okay? I'll think about it.

[gentle music playing]

LIBERTY

NICE, PRESENT DAY

[woman] Guillaume Lucchesi?

Céline Celoria, Nice Police Department.

- Good evening.

- Étienne Chomard, from the Paris Police.

[inhales deeply]

I've been looking for her all day.

I'm worried about

what may have happened to her.

If I knew where she was

The last message that she sent you,

what did it say?

All it said was that she loved me

and she always would.

Was there anything else?

Was she acting normally?

Did she seem nervous?

What's going on? Come on, tell me.

Is she okay? Did anything happen to her?

[Chomard] If you don't mind,

just answer the question, Mr. Lucchesi.

No, nothing was different. She

She was completely normal.

Nothing had changed.

Just tell me.

[Celoria] These photos were taken

two days ago in Ivry.

These two men are connected

to organized crime.

We managed to find some hair and fibers

under their fingernails.

The DNA test revealed

that they belong

to your partner, Judith Conti.
