You threw a lovely dinner at your home,

and I wanted to ask you…

I thought it was kind of interesting
that you separated me from the rest of...

- Yes.
- [Christine] Like, our buddies.

Was there a particular reason?

I mean, I was seated
to the left of Prince Charles

at Buckingham Palace earlier this year.

- Seating is such an intimate...
- Seating is very important. It is.

It's arguably, like,
the most telling part of party throwing.

There's a whole art to seating.

- You do know that?
- [Christine] Yes.

There are some people
who are of the format

of the hosts being the middle,

and then with each person,
there's decreasing importance to the host.

The reason I sat you there was because
my best friend was on that side.

Who I really enjoyed.

I did move her seat,

where she couldn't annoy anybody.

I wouldn't admit it to her

only because I'm not gonna
give Christine the satisfaction.

I know Christine wants a fight,

but I'm not going there.
I'm not playing the game.

I mean, it was a beautiful dinner,

and your parting gift was very generous.

about manners, about being a lady.

I think Kevin is funny, fun,
everything opposite Andrew.

The only problem is,
he has his own fashion sense.

healthy baby, and, like, I don't know.

I literally... I feel like
I just got out of the doghouse

after Baby G.

After I married Dr. Chiu,

I was told
that he was from a dynastic family,

and his parents were certainly not shy
in letting me know

that I needed to produce a male heir,

because it's the male
that carries on the family.

[Dr. Chiu] Look at this face.

You would let this face
go without a sister? Huh?

[Christine] I spent over a decade
trying desperately to get pregnant.

Cheers to 11 years of marriage,
ten years of trying.

The family was starting to get very upset.
I always had to sit at the kids' table.

I had to wash all of the dishes
for every holiday.

It was a reminder that I wasn't worthy,

and I didn't carry my weight.

And it wasn't until
the actual birth of Baby G

that I felt a genuine acceptance.

I think it'd be nice
to have a sibling for him.

Okay, well, we'll see.

Let me think about it.

Let's go.

I need his towel. Where's Madeline?

Madeline!

[Madeline] Here, coming!

[upbeat music plays]

[Anna] Have you thought
about going out with somebody else?

[Kelly chuckles] No.

- What about going out with Kevin?
- W... Why? [chuckles]

Don't you think Andrew
has competition going on?

No. No.

You didn't lose respect for Andrew

in Paris?

[Andrew, over phone] You don't understand.

You didn't show any respect
in what you were doing just by doing it.

- Doing what?
- [Andrew] You put our love first.

You're going against the grain.

I don't know why
you want to hurt our relationship.

He always, like... He always apologizes,
and comes back, and…

he does change.

Kelly with Drew is like putting a chain

and throwing you in the ocean.

You sink.

What attracts you to him?

I don't know. With my past relationship,
there was a lot of dishonesty.

With him, like, I trust him.

So, we've been going to therapy.
I think it's helping a lot.

Not that I'm a therapist,
but it gets to a point,

people are putting up with that person
because they like you.

But they're putting up with him for you.

And I've been married four times.
I have great marriages and great divorces.

[laughs]

I think a lot of my friends see
the bad side of our relationship.

I don't think they understand the other
part of me and Drew's relationship.

You know, the loving part,

and then that side of him
that is so loving.

I really hope our relationship
can evolve into something positive.

It's also a work in progress.

- We'll have a shopping day.

My mother used to say,
"Let's go shopping and you'll be better."

I wanted to come by the cryobank
to check on the two embryos that we have

to try to open Christine to the idea
of having a sibling for Baby G.

At least that's what I'm hoping. [laughs]

This is where, um, the embryos grow out,

on the benchtop incubators
in the blue box.

How long are we able to hold off
and do something with the sisters?

So, once it's a frozen embryo,
you can have them frozen indefinitely.

What we recommend is
if you're gonna carry the embryo

that we would definitely want
to have you consider

having the child under the age of 45.

- Where are Baby G's siblings?
- [Dr. Chiu] Where are London and Margaux?

London and Margaux
are actually in the vapor tanks,

and I was gonna have Andrew,
the embryologist, show you the embryo.

London and Margaux?
How did you remember that?

Well, we've been talking about
the potential names for the girls.

[Christine] I haven't been talking
about them. How did you remember that?

No, we have in the past.
I mean, we've tried a few times, so…

You know it's not Margot as in Robbie.
It's Margaux as in Chateau, right?

No kidding.
Because of Bordeaux, yes. [chuckles]

All of this feels like…

very, very familiar to me,

because I spent so much
of my life in this office.

Oh, my God.

I'm kind of nervous.

[Dr. Chiu] Don't trip.

It says Christine Chiu.

- [Christine] Oh, my God.
- So where's the other one?

- [Christine] Wait, is that one or two?
- Is that one or two?

Two. Oh, okay. Both of them are in there.

Both of them? They have to share one?

Can you hold his hand?

[Dr. Chiu] He doesn't need hand-holding.
He'll walk on his own.

[Christine] I like holding his hand.
I wanna hold his hand forever.

That was, um... That was so crazy.

I mean, truthfully,
I had forgotten about the embryos.

I don't know if it was,
like, an intentional forgetting.

Mm-hmm. Right.

We have this conversation
every now and then about

whether or not to, uh, move forward.

I don't have to explain you all the
medical things she had to go through.

My first, um, thought
when I walked in here was...

I mean, it was just like...
It was really overwhelming for me

because I remember
going through the process with you.

[Dr. Baek] Right.

[voice breaking] It's really hard
to want something so badly

and not be able to have a baby.

Something as, like,
so simple as having a child.

And that roller-coaster, I don't think,
is something I can handle again.

You know, your pregnancy
wasn't just risking the pregnancy.

You were at risk of losing your life.

And I want you to know for some patients,

especially when they've gone through
so much as you both have,

um, it's almost like
going through post-traumatic stress.

You know, returning to the office
isn't the easiest thing.

You could've lost your life.
You being pregnant again is not an option.

Without you,
there wouldn't be a family. There's...

I was almost left with the choice

of having to decide
between you or having a child.

It may be traumatic or too difficult
to consider having another child

and carrying the baby yourself,

but surrogacy is a real option

that I would have you strongly consider
if you're gonna have another child.

I honestly just
never even considered surrogacy.

Um,

I... I was always under the impression
that surrogacy was something

that Asians tend to kind of
look down on or stay away from.

I just don't... I don't want to do anything
or make any dec... decisions

that would offend your parents
and bring shame to your family.

Gabe's parents would hate the idea
of surrogacy.

They are very traditional,

and surrogacy
is not something that's accepted.

I literally just got out
of the doghouse with my in-laws,

and I just don't wanna
go through that all over again.

I'll deal with anyone
who wants to try to even question

anything about you not carrying the child.

They don't need to know
about your medical history.

They just need to know
that this is in the best interests

of us and our family.

[pop music plays]

One of the things I love the most
about you, the quality,

is that, like, you're
always willing to work on things

and work on yourself and our relationship.

Absolutely. No hesitation.

I'm really happy
to be in Dr. Bethany's office.

We think it's important,
talking about issues

that we kind of normally sweep
under the rug.

Now, I think a good place to start today

would be to talk about
your most recent fight.

A lot of our fights are really little.

I think one
that blew out of proportion was Paris.

Because that one went pretty crazy.
That one went really, really high.

- Yeah, that went off the hinges.
- It was hard to calm down from that one.

Tell me about the fight.

I went out shopping without Drew,

and he got really upset,
because he felt abandoned.

- Right?
- [Andrew] I remember that.

And then,
things just got really out of control.

- [Andrew] It... It was a bubble over.
- [Dr. Bethany] Hm-hmm.

[Andrew] And I lost my... I lost my sh*t.

The state of mind that you go into

is as if you've gotten
completely abandoned by Kelly.

[Kelly] One of the things
that really bothered me

was that I'd text his mom for help.

Keep reaching out, calling and texting.
No response back.

A few days later, she finally
sends me a text, and she says...

[crying] And she says, "I can't be there

for Andrew and his emotional…

[sniffles] …outreaches."

[Andrew] It has affected me greatly.

The abandonment
is with your mother and father,

but you're experiencing it
as if Kelly's abandoning you.

You have to separate Kelly
from your parents.

I want more than what my parents were
able to accomplish in their relationship.

Just as a man, I want to give that to her.

She deserves the best in the world.
And she's gonna get it.

[Dr. Bethany] Kelly,
next time he gets this way,

what do you want him to do?

I would like to have a little space,

and he have a little space
to work our feelings out,

and I like that let's set a time

to come back together to discuss more.

I'm really hoping therapy will really help

and get us to the next stage.

He's definitely trying,

She was pretty much butt-a*s naked
in front of me.

- And they're real, by the way.

I could tell they were natural.
