I wanted to talk to you at the open house,
but I understand
it was the wrong place, wrong time.
But I know that I really hurt you,
and that destroyed me.
What hurt me the most was
that everyone was talking in the office,
so my instant thought was,
"Everyone in the office probably overheard
that I had a poor performance
and that I wasn't doing a good job."
And I got super embarrassed
and super insecure.
But then I talked with Sonika,
and she was like,
"Melissa wasn't honest with you."
"She thinks that
you actually deserved a 'C.'"

So that's when I realized
what everyone was talking about
was something that
I hadn't even known about.
I had already been super embarrassed.
And there was pressure
that I had already put on myself.
And disappointment
I already felt in myself.
And to hear that you didn't have the guts
to tell me to my face
that I didn't do a good job?
Like, I didn't think
I did a good job either.
It really hurt me that it wasn't
a conversation between the two of us.
I just feel like
I'm so hard on myself already.
If it had come from you from the start,
it would have it would have helped me.
But you actually
did the opposite of helping.
That right there is what really,
really f*cking crushed me.

I was afraid people would think, "This job
was handed to her on a silver platter."

I wish I was that kind of agent
that could just get thrown into a house,
and not have my homework done,
and sell it, and be amazing, but I'm not.

It's so much more than a job for me,
and to feel like I'm
falling through the cracks a little bit
makes me really sad.
