01x01 - Family Dynasty

Post by bunniefuu »

[dramatic hip-hop music playing]

-[Farrah] Love the view of Beverly Hills.

-[Mauricio] We're having a family moment.

Beverly Hills is one of the most

iconic cities in the world.

It's a brand on its own.

We sell some unbelievable property here.

-[Jon] We just signed this.

-[Mauricio] Wow! This is insane!

[Jon] Hundred and thirty-nine million.

My name is Mauricio Umansky.

I run The Agency, the best

global real estate company in the world.

-Let's check this house out!

-[Alexia laughing]

[Mauricio] I've sold more

20-million-dollar homes

than anybody else in the country,

and I think more 100-million-dollar homes.

-Wow!

-[Alexia] This place is insane.

I'm writing up an offer

for my clients for five million.

Nice!

Our company started eight years ago,

and we now have 40 offices worldwide.

[dramatic hip-hop continues]

But The Agency headquarters

are here in Beverly Hills.

-[upbeat song playing]

-I'm busy buildin' an empire

Don't really care what you say

I'm only here for a good time

Drown 'em out like namaste

[Mauricio] Family businesses

are part of my DNA.

Two of my four daughters,

Farrah and Alexia,

are following in my footsteps.

I want to get this house sold for you,

but you need to be under five million.

[Mauricio] Farrah is very accomplished,

making seven figures a year.

And Alexia just started as

a full-time agent just a few months ago.

Work your a*s off and prove to your family

that you got this.

[Joey laughing]

Whoa, you guys. A little distracting.

Every agent wants to work at The Agency.

It's just known

to be like an exclusive club.

We literally have the best properties,

the best people, the best parties.

Period.

Period.

-[all exclaiming]

-[Melissa] Oh, my gosh!

[Alexia] It feels like we're in, like,

this high school situation,

because we're all in the office together,

we all hang out together.

There's relationships.

I feel like you might

still have feelings for me.

The Agency is fully incestuous.

Have you been working with your lover?

But there's definitely a lot of drama.

You lied to me!

Someone's not being 100% honest.

-There's no place for her at The Agency.

-She cried all day yesterday.

I earn every word

that comes out of my mouth.

I was told you'd been talking

to some competitors.

There's high stakes in this business.

12.7-million-dollar offer, non-negotiable.

We're ready to rock and roll.

A ten-million-dollar house

is a $250,000 commission.

So every deal is critical.

-You guys!

-[man] What?

-We got it!

-[man] Whoo!

[Mauricio] This company

is so important to me.

I've put all of my eggs in this basket.

That's the whole point of having a team,

and particularly having a Umansky team,

which is the family.

I am so proud to have Alexia and Farrah

on my team,

but I think about who's gonna be

taking over the company after me.

I don't want to manage people.

Then you're not gonna

be the CEO of the Umansky Team.

I think that they both have the ability,

but the company

is really growing to a level that,

you know,

may require somebody else to run it.

So, we will see what happens.

[dramatic music playing]

[upbeat song playing]

Everybody get up

All right, are you feelin' this?

Say yeah!

Are you feelin' that?

Say whoa!

Here we go!

Got me feelin' good vibes!

[Mauricio] That's the house for you.

Well, you're still gonna

have to wait for the guy to die, but he's

I mean, it's gonna be like Hugh Hefner.

I sold Hugh Hefner's.

He died eight months later.

That's what's gonna happen here.

All right, my man, have a good weekend.

Bye-bye.

You haven't been here for a while,

right, Farrah?

I haven't. I haven't been here in forever.

[Mauricio] It's gonna be sad

to finally sell it.

Milldale is the family house

that we had growing up.

For the past few years, we've actually

been renting the property out.

But recently we decided the best decision

would be to sell the house right now,

because the market is seriously on fire.

There was also a lot of episodes

of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

shot at Milldale,

because my mom is Kyle Richards,

a real housewife of Beverly Hills.

There was also

two other housewives that lived there,

Larsa Pippen and Sutton Stracke.

Those were our tenants.

We do have so many memories

in this house, right?

[Farrah] White Parties,

-birthday parties, holidays.

-[Mauricio] Barbecues.

I remember when Portia got faux married

on the tennis court over there.

-[Farrah] I know!

-She married herself, remember that?

Right. Bossing everybody around.

I love being a father.

One of my favorite things in the world.

Farrah,

I've raised her since she was five.

I don't think

she looks at me as her stepfather,

and I certainly don't look at her

as my stepdaughter.

I think that this property would be

really good for a young family.

For sure.

It needs a thorough cleaning,

a nice paint job.

-Yeah.

-[Mauricio] And stage it

-I got that part.

-You got that part. [laughs]

I was really just bouncing off ideas

for my own sake, but I'll do what I want.

Family businesses

are kinda part of my DNA.

I was born in Mexico City

to a Jewish family.

When I tell people I'm from Mexico

and I'm Jewish, everybody's like, "What?"

"There's Jewish people in Mexico?"

There's very, very few.

I think the community is something like

30,000 people strong.

My family moved to Los Angeles

when I was, uh, just six years old.

My first job was working for my father.

But then a few years later,

right during Christmas,

I was fired from a job I had

in the clothing business.

I literally thought

the world was just gonna end.

And I didn't know

how I was gonna put food on the table.

I was crying, I was bawling,

and Kyle was an extraordinary wife,

and she sat down with me, and she said,

"We're gonna figure something out."

And she said, "Let's go

get our real estate licenses together."

It's been an unbelievable run,

and I decided to start The Agency.

Wasn't Alexia supposed to meet us here?

Like, where is she?

-[both laugh]

-[Farrah] Hmm.

She's your blood, so always at least

a little few minutes late.

-[upbeat song playing]

-When I'm walkin'

It's a party

Hello?

-Hi, guys! Hello!

-[Mauricio] Hi, Alexia!

Alexia means everything to me!

She was the queen of the house,

and can basically manipulate me

with a little wink of an eye.

That kid has just, um

has me wrapped around her little finger.

She's my baby.

I brought flowers, but they're in the car,

and it's too much for me to pick up.

But I wanted to make the house

feel like home again,

because I'm sure you guys

walked around a bit.

-Yeah.

-[Alexia] It's

It needs help.

-It needs a lot of help.

-[laughs] Yeah.

I have a connection to this home

beyond words.

[Farrah] This is

the best room in the house.

[Alexia] I had my own wing.

I grew up there

during my high school/college years.

You know, your teenage years,

like, they're a little crazy.

I chose this room

because Mom and Dad's room

was as far as possible from here.

-Why, you wanted to escape out the window?

-That's literally

-Did you ever do that?

-I actually never snuck out.

[Mauricio] Did you ever escape?

-Not once?

-No, not once.

-Oh, wow.

-Because everyone came here.

-Oh.

-So, I snuck people in.

-Got it. They'd just be shuffling

-[Alexia laughing] Yeah.

-It was just the best in here.

-[Farrah] Oh, wow.

Well, I'm glad

that I'm finding this out now.

Should we go check out the backyard?

-Let's go do that.

-[Farrah] Yeah.

-[Alexia] Such a nice day.

-[Mauricio] Beautiful day.

This backyard is perfect,

it just needs minor, little fixes.

Clean it up,

let's get all the umbrellas open,

make it look super pretty.

I mean, we gotta start

thinking about listing it, right?

Like, it's important,

I don't want to leave money on the table.

So I want to make sure

that we handle it right.

Well, I mean

Okay, I've been thinking about this,

and I would love to man this one and take,

you know, responsibility of this one.

And I know it's not my price range,

but at this point of my career,

I could sell this house.

I feel like I could do a really good job.

Just

Well, listen, I'm definitely open

to hearing you, uh, pitch it.

I mean, I want you to pitch me

as if I was a client.

And then I'll make a decision

as to whether,

you know, we let you lead it or not.

Cool.

I think Alexia has an extra weight

on her shoulders

because she carries the Umansky name.

She wants to do an amazing job

and not seem like the boss's daughter,

and I think that's how I always felt too.

You know, I want her to succeed.

But I also worry about her.

You can trust me with your property. I'm

-I gotta make a phone call, hold on a sec.

-Oh. Well, okay.

-[upbeat song playing]

-Does it ever stop?

Will I get enough?

Bills are runnin' up

Really gettin' tough

Honey, all I know is I need

More money, more money, more money

Baby, even when you're ballin'

You're still tryin' to fill your wallet

Talkin'

More money, more money, more money

Even when you reach the top

Ooh, that feelin' never stops, give me

[Mauricio] What a beautiful property.

Looks pretty badass.

[Alexia] Holy moly.

-You have my lip gloss, right?

-I do, honey.

Okay, good. Thanks, Dad.

Even when you reach the top

Ooh, that feelin' never stops

[Mauricio] Wow!

My goodness!

-[upbeat song continues]

-Give me more

[indistinct chatter]

-Give me more, more, more

-[chatter continues]

[all exclaiming]

-[Melissa] Hi!

-[Farrah] Oh, my God.

[upbeat hip-hop music playing]

[Farrah] A broker's open is a great way

to get the word out about a property.

It's like a,

"Who's gonna find the buyer first?"

All the agents

are trying to get their connection,

get the phone number,

get to the assistant.

Everybody wants to be the one

to make that sale. Oh, it's fair game.

This is insane.

Wallace Ridge is the most high-ranking

kind of listing any agent would want.

I mean, it truly is a property

that some billionaire is going to buy.

I have a lot of great buyer connections

who I've met along the years,

travels, South of France to Monaco,

and I'd love to be the one

to sell this house.

-[Mauricio] This house looks sick.

-[Jon] You must have someone for it.

Um

I know who to call.

[all laughing]

[Alexia] Oh, we got the Memento Mori!

-Okay, that wine

-[Jon] Super good.

[Alexia] That got us

through the quarantine.

-Through the quarantine? This wine?

-[all laughing]

-[Alexia] We'd pop open

-That's how we got through quarantine.

Oh, my God, this is the best job ever!

I mean, there's wine, there's tequila,

there's cheese.

Everything is just insane.

Like, it's the stone, the trees.

The olive tree was picked up

and carried here from Europe.

I love my job so much, this is insane.

Did you like that Aston Martin

in the entrance?

-Love that.

-I think I'm gonna change my car.

-Oh, no. You just got two new cars.

-Oh, yes.

[Alexia] Dad goes through cars

like underwear.

[Allie] Like,

I feel like a basketball wife.

I got my new Escalade, my new mom car.

[Brandon laughing]

So watch out!

In 2011, there was no real estate agency

that had any sort of company culture.

It was an industry that wasn't changing,

and keeping up with the rest of the times,

and the rest of the industry.

And so we started The Agency

with the idea of culture,

of collaboration, uh, fun.

We came up with the number one rule,

which was "no assholes."

We've lived up to that rule still today.

Like, we're a family.

The Agency truly is a family.

What were you doing drinking cabernet

on a beach in Bora Bora?

-What were

-I flew it out there.

I know you flew it out there.

-Dude, okay, so, one, I knew they

-Who drinks red wine on a beach?

I feel perfectly justified about that.

[laughing]

-Hi!

-What happened? You're like

You're, like You're full-term right now.

I mean, I'm done. Yeah, I'm full-term.

I could have had this baby Wednesday.

It's just there were

no beds for me to, like

-That is insane! Yeah.

-Isn't that crazy?

So, apparently it's, like, a thing,

I'm not the only one having babies.

-People were bored with Covid.

-People weren't doing anything.

-Nine months ago, we were all in bed.

-Right? I know.

The Agency's very special.

Everybody comes from a unique background.

We have solo agents like Allie,

and amazing teams like Jon Grauman Group,

and the Ben Belack Team.

And the Umansky Team.

-It's huge!

-And all the limestone and the travertine.

-It's so amazing.

-[Mauricio] It's so cool.

Then we have the youth,

the next generation,

that are trying to make it.

You have Joey, and Sonika,

and Brandon, and Alexia,

that are going to start

trying to take our business away.

All these young people,

they're all coming to get them.

I'm like, "Great, let's go."

Can everybody please come over here?

I really appreciate it, thank you.

The Agency has always been innovative,

made things happen.

I love that we have the opportunity

to be a small boutique with global reach.

I love the way that we are a family.

Year-to-date, you guys have sold

nearly ten billion dollars

worth of real estate,

bringing in over 200 million dollars

of gross commissions.

And we now have an opportunity,

with this house, selling at $65 million,

to give one of you guys

an additional $1,300,000.

Everybody in this room

would like the check,

so let's go out there as an Agency family

and let's bring a buyer to this house.

-[team] Whoo!

-[Allie] The belly is good luck.

-[Mauricio] Arriba!

-[team] Arriba!

-[Mauricio speaking Spanish]

-[team repeating in Spanish]

-[Brandon] Let's see this house.

-[Sonika] Let's do it.

-Come on, guys, let's go.

-[Sonika] Follow Jon.

[upbeat music playing]

[Jon] This is the primary suite.

It's nice 'cause it's on the main level.

It's right off all the,

you know, main entertaining areas.

[Farrah] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Jon] So you can see,

this is a solid-walnut, single-pivot door.

Which is pretty spectacular. Um

We're asking about $3,600 a square foot.

Quickly do the math on that.

This one area here is worth about $3,600.

-Just to put that in perspective.

-[team] Wow.

This entire thing is cantilevered out.

You have the sunken jacuzzi tub in there,

TV that seamlessly

folds up into the ceiling.

This business is about relationships,

it's about connections.

And just because you're a newer agent

doesn't mean you may not have

amazing connections through your family,

through your friends.

You might realize, "I know someone that

might be looking for something like this."

So there's definitely a competition.

[Ben] So, basically,

you come home from 1 OAK

[team laughing]

This f*cking guy.

I swear to God, like, every time.

[Joey] You think someone

who has 65 million dollars

is going to 1 OAK?

Ben, in general, is an idiot.

You're not

buying a 65-million-dollar house

if you're consistently going to any club.

Obviously, I have to humble myself.

I just started in this business.

I don't have nearly the volume Ben does,

but I will have a buyer for this house

before Ben Belack.

And that's simply

because I have much more of, um

a better personality.

[Jon] Let's carry on

into the primary bathroom suite.

[Sonika] Let's get in that bathroom.

That is, like, the biggest shower

I've ever seen.

This is a $30,000 bathtub.

Joey is like most new agents.

Unfortunately for his generation,

because of the speed of,

"I want a meal, I can use an app,"

they want speed, too, of success.

And being around agents like us

who have done a ton of grinding,

and that includes Mauricio,

they think it's easy to achieve.

So, it could happen for Joey,

but, like, it could easily not happen.

-[Joey] Be nice to close this.

-[Sonika] Wonderful.

Sixty-five million dollars,

the commission would be 1.3 million.

Eight times anything I've ever sold.

I haven't gotten that far yet,

I'm still learning.

Londonderry's closing tomorrow?

We're actually

closing on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Okay. We have something else big

closing next week, I think.

-Sarbonne? Great.

-Yeah, 80-something million bucks.

I didn't know we were in escrow

in Sarbonne.

You gotta tell me these things!

He didn't tell me either.

There are complications

working with family.

The Sarbonne property

is an $85-million property in Bel Air.

It's a listing that I was introduced to

by somebody that I met at the gym,

and it's the biggest listing

that I've brought to the table,

only to find out now that my dad sold it.

But this is just one of those things that,

as the Umansky Team,

that we're struggling with,

and that's communication.

I wish he had thought to tell me that.

I gotta get better at that.

[tense music playing]

[upbeat music playing]

[phone line ringing]

-[Alexia] Hi.

-[Joey] Hey, what's up?

I'm just at an open house right now.

What's up with you?

Um, I'm driving to

a listing of Ben Belack's, which

-[Alexia] Oh!

-Yeah.

-Your dad is making me meet with Ben.

-[Alexia] That doesn't sound too bad.

-If my dad thinks it's a good idea

-No. Yeah.

-[Alexia] Ben's a great agent.

-I don't know.

Since I'm an agent on the Umansky Team,

Mauricio wants me

to be the best agent I can be.

I think you have the ability to become

one of those top agents in the country.

Have confidence, do it.

I am receptive to everything he says,

but when he tells me

[Mauricio] Practice the way Ben does.

I think your business

would increase a lot.

it involves Ben Belack,

it makes my skin crawl a little bit.

Um

But I'll do it.

The guy's cringey.

He has this weird social media presence,

but he's good at what he does.

I'll give him that.

[Alexia] It's gonna be fine,

they're doing you a favor.

Yeah. Let's see what the f*ck this is.

[laughs] Ben Belack.

[upbeat music playing]

-[Allie] Hello.

-[Alexia] Hi, Allie.

-[Allie] How's it going?

-How are you?

-[Allie] Good to see you.

-Good to see you. Look at you.

I know, about to pop.

Hopefully not today

during the listing appointment.

This baby is coming any second now.

And I've already got a husband,

two kids, and three dogs.

[laughs]

Crazy.

-I can't believe another girl too.

-I know.

Every morning I get up,

I say my prayers, have my coffee,

one's crying, one needs a Band-Aid

Ugh.

Well, I'm excited you're here today.

-Thank you so much for taking me along.

-Yeah!

Yeah, seriously, I'm so excited.

But I still have a few properties

I need to get sold,

and so I asked Alexia

if she could help show this house.

-All right, let's check it out.

-Yeah. Perfect.

[upbeat music playing]

-[Shayna] Hi.

-[Allie] Hello!

-[Allie] Hi! How are you?

-[Shayna] So good to see you.

-Hi, how are you?

-Alexia, nice to meet you.

Shayna, so nice to meet you.

[Allie] Shayna is a dear friend of mine.

She's an influencer

and also a trained chef.

And, fun fact,

she also dated Ryan Seacrest.

[Alexia] Oh, my God,

this place is gorgeous.

[Shayna] Welcome. Thank you.

You should know

we just bought this in 2018,

but Shayna has taken it

and made it completely her own.

-Yeah, this is my

-[Allie] She "Shaynafied" it.

my favorite add recently.

I changed the fireplace.

[Allie] Such a stunning centerpiece,

love the stone.

-[Shayna] It's Italian onyx, which is

-Beautiful.

a theme I have with Italian stones.

It's the same with the counter.

This one, actually, is Belize Quartzite.

Yeah, you know,

I do a lot of content creation,

so this kitchen is kind of where I live.

Yeah.

-[Allie] Let's check out the upstairs.

-[Shayna] Yes.

[Allie] I'm very excited.

-[Alexia] How many bedrooms is the house?

-[Shayna] It is four-bedroom.

-[Alexia] Got it, okay.

-So, my room.

-[Alexia] Ooh, that's pretty.

-[Shayna] So beautiful.

-And then, as you know, little closet.

-[Allie] Yes.

-This is a little closet for Shayna.

-[Alexia] A little closet?

But a big closet for a lot of people

looking for houses in LA.

-[Alexia laughing]

-[Shayna] This is my little guest room.

Four-bedroom, but for Shayna,

it's three with a large closet. [laughs]

[Shayna] It's three with a large closet.

Yeah, exactly. On brand.

[Allie] Show us the outside.

-Because this is phenomenal.

-The outside's the newest touch.

[upbeat music playing]

[Allie] I love the stone you chose.

-[Shayna] It's a quartzite.

-[Allie] It's gorgeous.

-[Alexia] So stunning.

-I wanted the permanent firepit there,

and then the pizza oven,

the grill, and a little mini sink,

so obviously I don't have to

run around with dirty hands.

[Allie] My clients are everything.

They have entrusted me with some of

the biggest transactions of their lives,

and now I'm gonna be entrusting Alexia

with essentially a future with my clients.

[gasps]

To be honest, it's really freaking me out.

So I think, if you're open to it,

I brought Alexia 'cause I think

she might be a really good addition

to helping out with some showings,

that kind of thing.

Absolutely.

As you know, I'm about to have a third,

so that's maybe something we're

Of course. Yeah, I would be open to it.

Wouldn't mind working with you.

[laughing]

Allie is a total badass, and I'm just

feeling so eager to help her.

But I'm also feeling a little scared

because I want to do a good job for her.

Both my dad and Farrah are going to be

watching me with a magnifying glass.

And it's a lot.

It's a lot of pressure

to live up to the expectations.

-[Allie laughing]

-Yeah, we'll see more of each other.

-Have some pizza nights.

-I'll make you matcha whenever you want,

then we're gonna have to

send pictures to Allie, then deliver it

I'll be jealous.

She's gonna be, "I need that pizza now.

Don't you know I just gave birth?"

Don't be too good at your job.

-[all laughing]

-[upbeat song playing]

You gotta hustle

You gotta be tough

If your dreams don't scare

They ain't big enough

You gotta work it, here's your shot

Let's go!

Let's go!

Let's go!

-Let's go!

-[car approaching]

[upbeat music playing]

Hey.

My insane new listing on Bel Air Road

is one of the best real estate locations

in the universe as we know it.

-How sick is this?

-This place is dope.

-[Ben] Bel Air Road. You ready?

-How are you, baby?

-I'm f*ck' ready, let's do it.

-Look at this.

[Kostas] Give me the rundown.

[Ben] I want to do a long walk-and-talk

in this room.

Yeah, this is

-Like, 23-foot ceilings.

-Yeah.

And then we have a visitor today.

-Okay.

-Uh, this guy Joey.

He's, like,

friends with Mauricio's daughter,

and, like, somehow found his way

into the company.

And Mauricio has asked me

to give him some advice.

I think for agents like Alexia and Joey,

they get a lot of opportunity

that is not the same for me.

And it does sting a little bit

because they were handed leverage

that I grind to get.

I have to focus on being known.

So for the last two years

I've been putting out

one video a week on YouTube.

I have a video that has

1.35 million views.

[Joey] Benjamin!

-[Ben] Thanks for coming. This is Kostas.

-Thank you for having me.

-What's up?

-[Joey] Nice to meet you.

So, yo, I'm glad you came up.

You know, I wanted you

to see the importance of making content,

and, you know, I started creating content

because I wanted to be known.

-When someone searches "Beverly Hills"

-"Hills Super Realtor"?

That too.

Ben Belack's videos are incredibly cheesy.

Hey, guys, Ben Belack here,

Beverly Hills Super Realtor.

They're the corniest things

that I've ever seen put on the internet.

Let me just get on my studious,

mid-century, modern glasses.

[laughs] And especially when you're

gonna give yourself your own nickname.

Beverly Hills Super Realtor.

Super Realtor.

Super Realtor.

[nasal] Hi, Ben Belack,

Super Realtor here.

What do you think?

I see how it's worked for you,

and I want to

I want to learn from the best.

I feel like you've been

charming me a lot lately.

No, it's literally

just when you're around.

Behind your back, it's horrible.

[Ben] The fact that Joey thinks

he's on my level,

it's ridiculous.

He maybe has sold four homes

in his career.

I sold 50 last year,

with an average price

of three million dollars!

-Ah, you're looking good.

-I do look good.

But what I will say is,

is that the one thing

that Joey has that I do not,

is that I'm 42.

Wait, don't put that on camera.

Rolling and action.

Measuring in at 6,510 square feet,

the house is, well, big.

When I see that guy closing massive deals,

there's nothing that drives me more,

because if someone that f*ck' cheesy

can get away with selling as much

real estate as he does,

then I better surpass him,

and I better surpass him soon.

I wanted to ask you a question

about the architecture.

-[Ben] Yeah, sure.

-You do have these round edges.

Joey, get out. [laughing]

I just wanna sh*t on your listing

for a second, give me that moment.

Please leave.

Joey could learn that he doesn't need

to hide behind "charming Joey."

And also you're not learning anything

while you're doin' the talking.

Thanks. Keep those

architectural questions coming,

particularly when

they're negative about my listing.

-It's really what I invited you here for.

-[laughs] That's why I'm here.

You think when I'm in a room

with Mauricio, I'm talking?

I'm asking questions, listening, watching.

It's that one nugget

that I'm listening for.

It's the nuggets that pull you up

to the next level,

and I think if Joey

would just shut the f*ck up,

he could really get some new nuggets.

-So, like, do you wanna try?

-Try what?

-Try doing this?

-[laughs]

-No, I'd much rather critique you.

-[Kostas] Good idea.

Yeah, I know, but, like,

I want to critique you too.

Okay, let's f*ck' do it.

Under your supervision, of course.

Obviously it's under my supervision.

What do you think, like Marty Scorsese's

coming here to be, like,

"Joey's doing a scene at a pool."

"How hard could it be

to describe water in a hole?"

If you blow this,

you will never join my team.

[laughs] Whoo! Okay.

-Just be Joey B.

-All right, let's do it.

Also try to envision you're just

talking to a person as if you're selling

-Yeah.

-Pretend it's Alexia.

-Hey, baby girl.

-[Kostas laughs]

-Want to see this house? No, okay. Um

-[Ben] Maybe not.

Yeah, maybe, like, less creepy.

Okay, we got this.

-[Kostas] Three, two

-[Ben] Take your time.

A quick elevator ride down

from the main level,

this pool overlooks the wonderful canyons

that you get in Bel Air,

and that only continues on an

even higher level at our rooftop deck,

which I'm excited to show you, by the way.

[laughing] When you say it's elevated,

do you mean

because it's just higher in the air?

-Just 'cause I'm high right now.

-[laughing] Oh, my God.

[hip-hop music playing]

[parking monitor beeping]

[beeping continues]

-[tires squeal]

-[beeping continues]

-[beeping continues]

-[Alexia] Ugh!

Phew! k*lled it.

I'm doing a showing at Lyceum today.

"Ly-cee-um, Liss-ee-um" Allie's listing.

-[Shayna] Hi!

-Hi!

I'm definitely nervous.

[Shayna] How are you?

[Alexia] It's definitely

not the typical scenario to have

the seller in the home

while you are showing it to a buyer.

But this is exactly the kind of pressure

that I've been wanting.

Like, "Do I have what it takes

to represent a listing

on the Umansky Team?"

-[knock on door]

-[Alexia] Oh!

-[Shayna] I will just sit and work.

-Okay, perfect.

-Hi! Are you Erin?

-Hi! Yes.

-Erin, it's a pleasure to meet you.

-Nice to meet you.

I'm Alexia, and this is Shayna.

-Hi, Shayna.

-Hi, nice to meet you.

-Don't mind my dogs. Sorry.

-[Alexia laughing]

So I guess we'll, you know, make our way

to the heart of the home, the kitchen.

Shayna's an amazing chef,

so she's always in the kitchen.

So she chose some stone

and marble that's just, like, um

quartzite, no, um

Um, anyway.

I hate that she's sitting right behind me

right now listening to me.

It's not that I don't know,

it's that I just

I'm flustered.

One thing that's important

to take note of in the price

is that the furniture is not included.

-Um, also

-What is the price per square footage?

[Alexia] Um

The price per square foot is $1,118.

[Erin] Okay.

-Um, shall we move on?

-Yeah, let's do it.

[Alexia] Okay, cool.

I'll give you a little moment

to focus on the fireplace,

'cause I think that marble

is so fantastic.

[Erin] It's gorgeous.

[Alexia] It's actually stone, right?

Or crystal.

[Shayna] Onyx stone,

it's like a type of crystal.

[Alexia] Um

Your daughter just turned one years old.

-Yeah. She just turned one.

-Congratulations. Um

This area

has an amazing elementary school.

What about, like, preschools?

-Preschools? I actually

-We're not into elementary yet.

I actually don't know the preschool,

but I can definitely get that to you

when I get the email to you ASAP.

[sighs]

You've got to be kidding me.

[Erin] Is there a

refrigerator back there as well?

I believe there is.

I think this is a full kitchen.

Yeah Oh, no. There's no fridge, actually.

So, Erin, anyhoo,

um, I will be getting the pre-K,

or kindergartens, to you.

-Preschool.

-Uh, preschool. Okay.

-Pre-cool! "Pre-cool!" [laughs nervously]

-[Erin laughing]

[Alexia] Um, but yeah.

-I have so much to learn.

-[Erin] Yeah.

[upbeat hip-hop music playing]

[phone line ringing]

-[Shayna on phone] Hello.

-It's Allie, how are ya?

I'm good. A little stressed, but good.

You always have so much going on.

-Uh

-I know.

So, I'm just calling

to touch base on Lyceum,

and kind of see where your head's at.

You know, I'm a little bit skeptical,

and so I'm like

I'm just not 100%.

Really?

Wait, why?

Um

How did you feel Alexia did?

I could tell she wasn't confident

in her ability to show up and be like,

"This is the house, this is great,

do you have any questions?" She just

There wasn't a confidence,

a comfortability there.

Right.

Ugh. Okay, that kills me, Shayna.

This is really annoying.

I prepped Alexia by giving her

everything she needed to know.

I literally greased the wheels for her,

I lined it up,

and all Alexia had to do was park it.

[Shayna] You know,

she obviously was trying her best,

but I definitely think maybe

she should study a little bit more on,

what is the floor made out of,

what's the square

The standard stuff people always ask.

All right.

It's scary that Alexia can

affect my business, my reputation,

and essentially, like,

affect the future with my clients.

I don't know, maybe

maybe she's not that good.

I don't know.

Well, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry that I put you in that position,

but I appreciate your feedback.

But at the same time, like,

she's the boss' daughter, and

What am I gonna do, like,

piss off the boss?

Again, please be open.

I don't want to miss this opportunity.

-I'll let you know. Bye.

-Sounds good, babe. Bye.

[upbeat song playing]

-Guys, guess what time it is?

-[Sonika] Cheers!

[Joey] Yeah!

Cheers to all the things we talked about.

-[Sonika] Let's have a good year, right?

-Yes.

-Okay?

-Oh, my God, I'm

[Brandon] Here we go.

[Joey] Cold weather is good.

-[Sonika] Love it. I love it.

-No, it's not.

-[Sonika] You don't like layers?

-I'm from Arizona. I don't do cold.

-You're from Arizona?

-[Brandon] Yeah.

I moved here

as a professional dancer originally.

-[Alexia] A professional dancer?

-Yes!

[Alexia] That is awesome.

Yeah, so I did that

for maybe like nine years.

Who'd you dance for?

I've had opportunities and auditions

for Gaga, J-Lo

-[Sonika] Ugh! Love her.

-B

"B" as in Beyoncé "B."

When I got here, it was crazy,

just, like, how it is for real estate.

[Sonika] So many people

want to be in that room.

[Brandon] I got myself in the room,

then I take that courage

and I applied it to other things.

Like I'm doing with real estate right now.

I'm not from Los Angeles.

I'm from an urban community in Arizona.

I did not grow up

in an extremely wealthy neighborhood.

Like, I've had to work hard

and build myself to get here.

I think my drive separates me

because I'm very hungry,

because I have to pay my own bills,

so the goal is to succeed,

because it's only me.

-So we have a dancer and a singer.

-[Sonika] We have to get something going.

Just start performing.

You guys are wasting everyone's time.

[clears throat] Hey, if you only knew

How I felt 'bout you

You'd be here, I'd be next to you

-That's just

-[Brandon laughing] Yay!

[Joey] The whole restaurant

[Alexia] She wrote that.

I love music.

I actually was a finalist

on American Idol.

I wanna believe that I can

do both music and real estate.

They are both so competitive.

I'm still starting, and I'm struggling,

like, "Where am I gonna make the money

to pay for my car, to pay for my rent?"

Like, they say

80% of realtors out here fail.

I'm like, "I am not in that 80,"

I'll tell you that. I'm here to play.

So, I feel like I'm talentless right now.

No, no, no!

I'm still very much focused

on building my future,

and, you know, I wanna focus

on my own career and my own life.

Like, I still

[clears throat] I'm Mauricio's daughter,

or I'm Farrah's sister.

And, there's like, you know

naturally I'm tied to the two of them.

It's either A,

people expect so much from me,

or B, they're kind of like,

"Well, why can't we just talk to them?"

-"Why are we talking to you?"

-[Brandon] Mmm-hmm.

Alexia and I are at the same point

in our careers,

but having two very different experiences.

Alexia's father is the owner

of the company.

Her mother is Kyle Richards

from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

She's in this environment,

she grew up in Bel Air,

her family hangs out in Beverly Hills.

I like Beverly Hills too,

but I just work there.

[waiter] All right,

and here is the spicy tuna crispy rice.

[Brandon] Ooh! Here we go.

Wow. That one looks spicy. I love spicy.

-[Joey] Like me?

-[Brandon] Oh!

-[Alexia sighs] Oh, man!

-[Sonika] Wow!

[Alexia] Every time Joey opens his mouth,

I get embarrassed.

-[Joey] PTSD?

-[Brandon] I love it. Come on.

You guys have been friends for how long?

-Eleven Eleven, twelve years.

-Twelve years. Yeah.

Joey and I started at The Agency

around the same time.

In addition to that,

we have been friends for 12 years now.

We went to high school together,

we've traveled together.

I visited him at his college.

And now he is part of the Umansky Team.

Did you guys ever date?

-[Sonika] Ooh.

-No.

[tense music playing]

-No, there there was

-[Joey mutters]

There was potential there

for a hot second.

-[Brandon] Uh-huh.

-What happened?

On my side of things,

it's that we were working together.

We shared a desk,

and my dad was ten feet away from us,

and I was like, "This is weird for me."

And we've actually never

talked about this before.

-[Brandon] Oh!

-[Sonika] Love it!

I'm glad we waited for this.

-I'm here to support you.

-I'm here for her.

[both laughing]

So I've had my one fair share

of office entanglement.

It was quite the thrill.

"Quite the thrill"?

It was a thrill, you know? Like

I had a little office fling

with my dad right there, which was weird,

but at the same time, like, thrilling.

A little rule-breaker. A little, like

I don't know.

I was gonna say "naughty," but

-[shrieks]

-[both laughing]

-I was head-over-heels.

-[Alexia] So far from the truth.

[Brandon] You were?

As a As a friend.

-[Brandon laughs]

-[Sonika] Oh.

[Alexia] Was that all?

Can we capture the silence in the

in the building?

-We're all like

-We're waiting for you to share more.

[all laughing]

[upbeat music playing]

-Hello?

-[Mauricio] Hi, Fairy.

Hi, how are you? Um

Just trying to organize

our client on Alpine.

I just came from Melinda, by the way,

had a showing

-Your hair looks so beautiful. Sorry to

-Oh, thank you. Do you like it?

My ADD popped in there.

But it matches the shirt, the ombre

I know, it's actually very cute

with some of my outfits lately.

-It's supes cute.

-Thank you very much.

-[Alexia] Hi.

-[Mauricio] Hi, my love.

-Have you been working?

-I have.

Even though I'm 25 years old,

I still live at home.

But I'll probably cap it

for another, like, two more years.

Um, 'cause at that point

it'd probably be too much.

[Farrah] They get very nervous

-when she brings this up.

-I know.

Mauricio and my mom both, they get

they, like, start sweating.

They don't want me to leave

and I don't want to leave either.

Even if I bring it up, they get mad at me.

Like, "What are you talking about?

She loves it here."

"She's not going until she's married!

She doesn't want to leave!"

I just have a really fun situation.

I've got people that do my laundry

and they help me.

My mom helps me with my laundry.

It's very sweet.

Have you ever done your own laundry?

[Mauricio] Um, you guys want to go

in the other room to chat about Milldale?

-So we can all sit down?

-[Farrah] Sure.

[Mauricio] You've been working on it?

Are you nervous?

-[Alexia] I am.

-It's just us!

[Mauricio] Breathe, for God's sakes.

[Alexia] I know,

but presentations make me nervous.

[Farrah] I'm glad that you're

taking it very seriously.

Yeah.

I've never had to pitch

my dad or my sister before,

but they're not only my dad and my sister,

they're the two best agents

in the country.

And it's nerve-wracking to be

tested right now.

This whole thing is a test.

Father, Fairy.

[Mauricio] This is the first time I think

I've ever been pitched on our own listing.

-I know, me too. This is fun.

-[laughing]

Can I do this?

And I need to show them, yes, I can.

I know I don't have it yet, but I did take

something upon my own responsibility.

[Mauricio] Yup.

I have contacted

two different staging companies.

Good.

The house is being painted as we speak.

And we had the lightbulbs all swapped over

so that we have now

a beautiful, painted-fresh house,

with lightbulbs

that irradiate the whole place.

[Mauricio laughing]

[Farrah] Love the enthusiasm

and attention to detail.

[Mauricio] "Irradiate!" I love that.

In addition to what I have done

physically to the home,

I have also studied comps.

[imitates fanfare]

-The most recent sale is

-2021.

Well, actually, no, 2019.

Hmm?

-[Mauricio] No.

-There is another one, FYI.

-[Alexia] That recently closed

-In the cul-de-sac.

Oh! Well, I missed that one.

And we sold it at The Agency.

-And it's the house right behind us.

-Good to know.

Well, that was the

second most recent one then.

[Mauricio] Okay.

I don't know if Alexia's ready,

to be honest.

I don't know if she understands

all the things

that she's gonna have to do.

Earlier Allie called me

and she told me that Alexia did

mess up a showing that she did.

I don't wanna bring her in

if she's not really doing a good job,

and knowing the facts, knowing the stats

I gave her all that information

and it sounds like she didn't

remember a lot of it.

[Farrah] Yeah, that's really not good.

Taking on the Milldale listing

is going to require a lot of effort,

and so I'm gonna

have to talk to Mauricio about it,

because ultimately it affects me

and my business too.

[Alexia] Obviously, it was a mistake

on my part, I do apologize.

Okay, so anyways, I'm What'd you think?

Um, I'm very I

Look, I want you to have this listing.

I'm trusting you with it.

I think you're ready for it.

You're gonna crush it.

I know you're gonna sell it,

I know you're gonna do well,

and I'm very excited I could be

your first, you know, real listing.

Thank you very much. I'm really excited.

[Mauricio] All right, love,

just keep it going.

-Let's do this thing.

-[Mauricio] Don't be nervous.

-[both laugh]

-[kisses]

[Alexia] I love you, Daddy.

-[upbeat song playing]

-Outside, inside, we don't stop

Global, worldwide, we don't stop

From the bottom to the top

We don't stop

From the first in the block

We don't stop

Outside, inside, we don't stop

Global, worldwide, we don't stop

From the bottom to the top

We don't stop

[Mauricio] Honestly,

I just cannot go any further.

We've been on the phone

for two-and-a-half hours

between the buyer and seller.

Enough's enough. Let's get it done.

All right, man. Thank you so much. Bye.

-What's up, Fares?

-[Farrah] Are you okay?

Oh, my God, I'm dealing with one guy

that's just being a real nudnik,

and just picky

about absolutely everything.

It's just so frustrating.

-That's a rare challenge for you.

-I know.

What else? What's going on with you?

What are you working on?

[sighs] Um, actually,

I wanted to chat with you about Milldale.

-Oh, yeah. Tell me.

-Um

Well, after our conversation with Alexia,

obviously, we haven't really

circled back and discussed.

I'm wondering, can Alexia handle this?

[tense music playing]

I want to play the devil's advocate

and just make sure

that you're not just like,

"Yeah, of course. Let's go."

First of all, I have considered

all the different variables,

and I have to be honest with you,

I don't think it's anybody's issue.

She's been working long enough,

she deserves a chance.

And if the father can't,

you know, give them a chance

to have their first shot

at being a quarterback,

I don't know how else you get a chance.

It's hard to be honest with Mauricio

about Alexia.

I mean, she is his baby.

I really want my sister to succeed.

But Mauricio just assumes

everything is always gonna work out.

He doesn't really

take into consideration my time.

He just thinks,

"Everyone will just get it done."

-I'm the client, like

-I know!

It's not like she's gonna, like,

make a mistake on the contract

and then I'm not gonna catch it.

I have to sign every contract.

That's the whole point of having a team.

Particularly having a Umansky team,

which is the family.

That is the point.

We have to water the flower,

let her blossom and become beautiful.

-Spread her wings and fly.

-She's gonna f*ck' crush it.

And I know she is.

Okay, well, clearly,

this answers the question then.

You've thought everything through.

I can tell he's pissed.

He went full papa bear mode,

and I'm feeling a little weird about it.

I don't know when to push certain things

or when not to.

Don't get me wrong,

I'm completely with you, on the same page.

I feel 100% confident giving her

her first opportunity.

Okay.

He is our dad,

but not only that, he's the boss.

It's not easy to deal with family

sometimes, huh?

[tense music playing]

-[Mauricio speaking Spanish]

-[team repeating in Spanish]

-Let's k*ll it!

-Whoo!

-[upbeat song playing]

-You gotta hustle, gotta be tough

If your dreams don't scare

They ain't big enough

You gotta work it, here's your shot

You only got one life

Give it all you got

-[woman on phone] I think you've got it.

-Yes!

You honestly

understood the assignment perfectly.

[Jon] Do you know

the history of this house?

-It's the infamous "m*rder house."

-Now you tell me?

-Do you know what stone this is?

-Cacarra? Calcarra? Calcutta.

f*ck.

-[upbeat song continues]

-Steal the spotlight, steal the show

-[Alexia laughing]

-Let's go!

[song fading]

[Mauricio] The consequences

in the business world

are a lot different

than the consequences at school.

[Joey] No chance this house sells

below six-and-a-half million dollars.

That's not gonna be good enough.

[crying] Now, knowing that grade,

I'm gonna be so scared to do a bad job.

I'm a Black man.

I gotta have on a f*ck' suit.

If I come casual,

they're gonna call the police on me.

[crying] Do you not

realize how much that hurts me?

Do you not realize

I could say the same thing about you?

The more successful you are,

the more they'll talk sh*t about you.

She feels very betrayed.

Okay, so I'm in deep sh*t then.

-[upbeat song playing]

-This is my time comin'

My time, this is my time comin'

My time, this is my time comin'

She's f*cking with my career,

and that's something I will not let slide.

Do you think Mauricio

knows that you and Alexia dated?

Do you still have feelings for me?

I want to be your wife.

I think we see where we end up.

[Ben] This is gonna get

real "Jerry Maguire" right now.

-Who's coming with me?

-Am I being recruited right now?

-Farrah's put a lot of work into Joey.

-Mmm-hmm.

I was told that you had been poaching Joey

and asking him to work for your team.

-[upbeat song continues]

-My time, this is my time comin'

[Melissa] I have

a really tough question to ask you.

Do you think real estate

is the right business for you?

-My time, this is my time comin'

-[both exclaiming]

My time, this is my time comin'

Phew!

Child!

-[upbeat song playing]

-I'm just trying to do my job

Bet you're sayin' to yourself

"I can do that"

You are right, I am wrong

But, mister

What's that on your tongue?

Yeah, you've got attitude, attitude

Attitude, attitude

[upbeat song continues]

Attitude, attitude

You are high, I am low

But that temper gotta go

Yeah, you got attitude, attitude

Yeah, you should change your mood

You are right, I am wrong

But, mister

What's that on your tongue?

Yeah, you got attitude, attitude

Attitude, attitude

You are high, I am low

But that temper gotta go

Yeah, you got attitude, attitude

Yeah, you should change your mood

This is what you got to do

Mother, mother, mother

This is what you got to do

Mother, mother, mother
