[squeaky voice] Why do so many boulders want to go to space?

Because they love ROCK-ets!

Get it? Rockets?

KIDS: [laugh]

ARI: Okay, how about...

What should you do when your pebble friend is tired?

ELINOR: I don't know. What?

ARI: Rock it to sleep.

KIDS: [laugh] ARI: And that's our show!

What a great audience! Goodbye!

KIDS: [laughter] [clapping]

ELINOR: That was great, Ari.

Who knew rocks could be so funny?

ARI: Yeah, well, that's because Rocky is one of a kind!

Just look at his funny stripe!

ELINOR: You're right, Ari!

I've never seen a rock quite like your pet rock, Rocky!

ARI: Yeah, and it can get kinda lonely being one of a kind,

but even though he doesn't have a family of his own, he's got me.

What's that?

[squeaky noises]

Aw, you're the best too, buddy!

OLIVE: I hope Rocky likes... cookies!

My mom and I baked three different kinds for the comedy show!

ARI: Rocky's not a big fan of cookies, but...

[squeaky noises]

He said I could have his!

ELINOR: Wow, Olive! These cookies look delicious.

I don't know which one to choose because all three look so different!

ARI: Don't worry, they're all good! Mmm.

RANGER RABBIT: I thought I smelled cookies!

ELINOR: Oh! Hey, Mom. What are you doing here?

RANGER RABBIT: I was just on my way to a new community garden Ms. Beaver is working on.

ELINOR: Ooh, we love community gardens.

RANGER RABBIT: And this one is right up your alley, sweetie.

It's all about showing the diversity of nature!

ELINOR: Ooh, that is just for me!

I can't wait to see it!

RANGER RABBIT: You kids should come with me

because it sounds like they could use all the help they can get.

OLIVE: Wow! That would be amazing.

ARI: And it would be a great way for Rocky and me to take our show on the road.

Find a whole new audience!

ELINOR: Alright, then let's go!

RANGER RABBIT: [chuckles]

ARI: Hi, Ms. Beaver!

MS. BEAVER: Hey there, kids.

ARI: Do you want to hear some jokes?

I've got a million jokes, and they're all about rocks!

MS. BEAVER: Rocks?! Not more rocks?!

RANGER RABBIT: I heard at the Ranger Station

that there were some problems with the soil in the garden.

MS. BEAVER: You can say that again! We have problems, alright!

Big problems.

There are rocks everywhere in this soil,

so we can't plant these beautiful plants here!

ELINOR: We came to help Ms. Beaver.

Is there anything we can do?

MR. BUFFALO: Yep, we'll need lots of help clearing out these rocks.

ELINOR: No problem, we can do it.

MS. BEAVER: Well, that would be great kids.

Oh, I really want to plant a garden to show everyone

in town how beautiful and diverse things in nature can be.

OLIVE: You got it!

ARI: We're gonna get to play with lots of your rock friends today! High five!

ELINOR: Let's pick up some rocks!

ARI: [squeaky noises] [chuckles]

ELINOR: Wow! This rock is so black! And smooth!

OLIVE: This rock isn't smooth at all.

It's got lots of points on it!

ELINOR: I had no idea there were so many different kinds of rocks.

I just thought rocks were, you know, rocks.

Except Rocky, of course. [chuckles]

ARI: That's right! One of a kind!

ELINOR: Hey, I wonder if any other rocks have a swirly line like Rocky.

ARI: Do you really think there could be other rocks like Rocky?

ELINOR: There's only one way to find out.

We need more observations!

ARI: Yeah! C'mon, Rocky! Let's find your family!

ELINOR: There have to be some rocks in here that look like Rocky.

I mean, look how many different kinds of rocks there are.

ARI: I see pointy ones, smooth ones, grainy ones, rough ones...

ELINOR: And they have lots of different colors and patterns on them.

That's sooo interesting!

I wonder... how are there so many different kinds of rocks?

ARI: I know! Maybe...

Millions of years ago, dinosaurs used to paint with rocks of all different colors.

OLIVE: Or maybe some rocks are rough and grainy

because they used to be at the top of the mountain.

Then they fell down and got all scratched up.

ARI: Like Rocky!

ELINOR: Maybe.

Hmm...

OLIVE: All this rock collecting is making me hungry.

ARI: Me too... not that I need an excuse for a snack.

OLIVE: Would anyone like a cookie?

MR. BUFFALO: You are a lifesaver, Olive.

These rocks are getting bigger and heavier, and I need a break!

MS. BEAVER: Oh, me too.

MR. BUFFALO: Phew.

RANGER RABBIT: Wow, Olive! These are delicious.

MS. BEAVER: Oh! And there are so many to choose from.

How did you make the cookies so different?

OLIVE: Oh, well, my Mom and I used different ingredients and baked them differently.

Each cookie is made a slightly different way and baked at a different temperature

depending on what's in it.

MS. BEAVER: Mmm! Ooh, oh, is that peppermint?

OLIVE: It sure is! We mix a little peppermint into the cookie before it bakes,

the peppermint melts right in, like this.

ELINOR: Hmm... Maybe that's why rocks are different.

When they were being made, I'll bet each one was made in a different way.

OLIVE: Oh, and that would explain why some are smooth or grainy

and why some have different colors...

ARI: Or have wavy lines in the middle.

RANGER RABBIT: You kids are right.

ELINOR: Really? What part?

RANGER RABBIT: You are right that each type of rock is made in a different way.

OLIVE: Like my cookies?

RANGER RABBIT: Yep, and just like your cookies,

a rock depends on what it's made of and how it's made.

ELINOR: Mom, how many different kinds of rocks are there?

RANGER RABBIT: Actually, there are three different kinds.

The first type of rock is called igneous,

and those are like the black, smooth rocks that Elinor found.

ELINOR: Yeah, these rocks are cool!

RANGER RABBIT: Exactly! They're made from hot lava that cools down

when it comes to the surface of the Earth.

ELINOR: Wow! I can't believe I'm holding a rock that used to be lava!

I think I might keep this one for my collection!

ARI: Did you hear that, Rocky?

Now you've got a friend at Elinor's house!

OLIVE: Ooh, what's this one?

RANGER RABBIT: That is a second type of rock, which is called sedimentary

because it's made when lots of little tiny rocks as small as

little grains of sand get smushed together over time.

OLIVE: Wow! It's like a million tiny rocks became one big rock!

ARI: Ranger Rabbit, what kind of rock is Rocky?

RANGER RABBIT: Hmm, let's see.

Rocky has a wavy line going through him that kinda looks like a smile.

ARI: That's because he's the happiest rock in the world!

Right, buddy?

RANGER RABBIT: Rocks with wavy lines are often from the third group called metamorphic rocks,

which get their name because they change when they're exposed to heat

or squeezed really hard, deep underground.

ARI: Did you hear that, Rocky? You're a metamorphic rock.

RANGER RABBIT: And all that pressure and heat changes the way the rock looks,

sometimes even giving it a cool stripe like Rocky has.

MR. BUFFALO: Phew. Sorry, Ms. Beaver, but no matter where we go,

the crew and I just find more and more rocks.

I don't think we can put the garden here.

MS. BEAVER: Oh, no!

How are we going to show the town all the different and beautiful things in nature now?

ELINOR: Hmm...

You know, maybe this could still be a community garden...

but with rocks?

ARI: Yeah, we may not be able to put a garden here,

but this is still a nice place to come and look at some really neat rocks.

OLIVE: Mm-hmm. Rocks are a part of nature.

And there are so many;

they're a pretty diverse part of nature, too!

ARI: Yeah! Rocks rock!

♪ ELINOR: Nature has many things to see. ♪

♪ Like a giant elm or a tiny bee. ♪

♪ OLIVE: They're sure nice, but if you want a treat... ♪

♪ ARI: Just take a look right under your feet. ♪

♪ KIDS: There are rocks of every shape and size, ♪

♪ But perhaps the biggest surprise. ♪

♪ Is just how pretty these rocks can be... ♪

♪ Rocks Rock! ♪

♪ Rocks Rock! ♪

♪ ELINOR: They're igneous,

♪ ARI: metamorphic... ♪

♪OLIVE: or sedimentary. ♪

♪ KIDS: All these rocks are - hey! - ♪

♪ Complimentary. ♪

♪ ELINOR: I love this rock cause it's nice and smooth. ♪

♪ ARI: This one looks like a shark's tooth! ♪

♪ OLIVE: When it comes to showing how amazing nature can be, ♪

♪ ARI: Rocks are as good as a plant or a tree! ♪

♪ ELINOR: So after seeing all of these, it should be no shock ♪

♪ That we all think... ♪

♪ KIDS: That rocks ROCK!

♪ We all think that rocks rock! ♪

♪ Rocks Rock! ♪

♪ Rocks Rock! ♪

♪ Rocks Rock! ♪

MS. BEAVER: You know what, kids?

I think you're right!

This was a great idea for a community garden.

Rocks do rock!

ELINOR: It looks great, Ms. Beaver, and there are so many beautiful rocks to see.

ARI: It's just too bad we couldn't find any rocks

that looked like Rocky.

RANGER RABBIT: Don't worry, Ari.

There are still plenty of rocks to discover here.

MR. BUFFALO: Oh, now who put this here?

[grunts] It goes over here.

ELINOR: Ari, look at these rocks!

ARI: Rocky, they look just like you!

[gasp] They even have little stripes!

They must be your family!

This big one here must be your metamorphic mom.

I think her name is Roxanne.

And here's your sister, Raquel.

ELINOR: Well, it looks like Ari and Rocky have a new show!

ALL: [laughter]

ELINOR: “A Birthday for Bibi”

MR. RABBIT/ELINOR: [sing-song] It's Bibi's birthday!

Happy happy birthday! YEAH!

[chuckle]

ELINOR: I can't wait to get to Baba and Bibi's house to celebrate!

I drew her this picture of us together!

MR. RABBIT: Ooooohh!

ELINOR: Only... I gave her a picture last year...

and the year before that.

I want to give Bibi something different this year,

only I can't figure out what.

MR. RABBIT: Well, what does Bibi usually do for your birthday?

Is there anything you love that you'd like to do for her?

ELINOR: Hmm...

That's IT!

I'll make birthday dumplings for Bibi all by myself!

It'll be the best birthday present ever!

MR. RABBIT: Mmm, I can't wait to try them.

Oh, it looks like it's time to go!

Are you ready to head to Desert Town?

ELINOR: Yeah!

MR. RABBIT: Whew.

ELINOR: [gasp]

Bibi! Ba—

Wow! Cool!

BIBI: Oh, looks like the bearded dragons are out today!

ELINOR: Bibi! Baba!

BABA: Mwah, mwah!

BIBI/BABA: Hi sweet pea!

BABA: Oh, It's so good to see you!

ELINOR: Happy birthday, Bibi!

I hope this is your best birthday ever!

BIBI: Well, you're here, so I'm sure it will be.

ELINOR: Oh! And I have a very special surprise planned

but I need to use the kitchen!

BIBI: Oh? Okay, you got it, sweetie.

MR. RABBIT: There's the flour and water for the dough.

There are carrots and other veggies already chopped up in this bowl for filling.

What else can I do to help, Chef Elinor?

ELINOR: Nothing!

I'm going to make dumplings for Bibi all by myself,

just like she makes them for me.

MR. RABBIT: Are you sure?

ELINOR: Bibi doesn't need any help. She just makes them.

BIBI: Anybody need any help with any—

ELINOR: No, no, no, no! No help!

Close your eyes, Bibi!

It's a top-secret birthday surprise.

BIBI: [chuckles] Okay, whatever you say.

MR. RABBIT: How about I keep Bibi company out in the backyard

while you do your [whispers] top-secret things in here?

[chuckles]

ELINOR: Thanks, Dad!

MR. RABBIT: Come on, Mom.

ELINOR: A little bit of flour.

Oh! [coughs]

And some water.

I wonder how she knows how much flour and water to put in?

Hmmm. This doesn't look right.

Maybe it will look better once I add the filling.

A splash of sauce.

A little bit of salt...

Now, all I have to do is make the dough

into little circles and fill them up.

[Splat]

Umm. Hmm. Huh...

Just fold it together in the middle... [wet splat]

Ugh. Okay. Maybe I should start on one side.

Ah.

That doesn't look right at all...

MR. RABBIT: How are things going in there, hunny bunny?

ELINOR: Not good.

I think I might have ruined Bibi's birthday surprise.

I don't know how Bibi made this look so easy.

[wet splat]

MR. RABBIT: Oh, it looks like it didn't go exactly as you hoped, huh?

ELINOR: No.

MR. RABBIT: How about we take a little break out here with Bibi?

ELINOR: Okay.

[Squish]

Mr. RABBIT: And maybe we can both wash our paws a little?

BOTH: [chuckles]

BIBI: Pssst! Come look!

ELINOR: What are you watching, Bibi?

The bearded dragons are back!

BIBI: The smaller one seems to be looking for something.

ELINOR: What?

MR. RABBIT: Maybe it's looking for something to eat?

BIBI: It's done this before a couple of times.

It looks around and then comes back.

But it still didn't find any food.

ELINOR: Aww! Sorry, little bearded dragon.

MR. RABBIT: [gasp] Now the bigger one is looking around!

ELINOR: [gasp] Oh! It found a bug to eat under that leaf!

And look, now the smaller one is getting closer, too.

It looks like it's watching the bigger lizard!

BIBI: Oh, I think the little one is going to try to look for food again.

ELINOR: [gasp] Oh!

It lifted a leaf just like the bigger bearded dragon did.

BIBI: I wonder if it'll find any insects this time?

ELINOR: [gasp] Yay! It did!

At first, it didn't know how to find the bugs,

but then it saw the bigger bearded dragon

lift up that leaf to get them.

When it tried to do it, it found a yummy bug, too.

BIBI: Good observation, Elinor.

It watched the bigger bearded dragon find a bug

and then practiced what it saw.

ELINOR: [gasp] The small one learned

from watching the bigger one.

That's so interesting!

MR. RABBIT: And it got a pretty tasty treat out of it, too!

Mmm, bugs!

ALL: [giggles]

BIBI: How's your secret kitchen project going, Elinor?

ELINOR: [sigh]

I wanted to make your famous carrot dumplings for your birthday

because you always make them for me.

But they didn't turn out right.

BIBI: You were making those all by yourself?

ELINOR: Yeah! I wanted to make them just like you do,

and you make them all by yourself.

BIBI: Dumplings are tricky to make.

Especially making the dough and folding the dumplings.

ELINOR: Yeah... my dough was runny, and my filling didn't stay on the inside.

My dumpling fell apart.

BIBI: Ahh, yes, that's happened to me before.

ELINOR: Really?

But yours are always folded so nicely,

and the filling stays in place!

You just know how to do it.

BIBI: [giggles] Can I tell you a little secret?

I know how to make dumplings now,

but I didn't learn how to make them on my own.

My Bibi taught me how to make them.

ELINOR: Your Bibi?

You didn't just always know how to make dumplings?

BIBI: [laughing] Nope, I had to learn!

I tried once on my own, maybe just like you did, and that was... well, messy.

But then my grandma showed me how to make them, and I tried again with her.

ELINOR: I didn't know you learned from someone else.

Oh! Just like the smaller bearded dragon learned from the bigger one.

It didn't know how to find the bugs before.

But it learned how to do it after it watched

the bigger bearded dragon find them under the leaf.

BIBI: [laughing] Just like that, Elinor!

Sometimes, we can learn things by trying them out on our own,

and sometimes, we can learn things from others,

just like the bearded dragons.

MR. RABBIT: Just like Bibi and her Bibi.

BIBI: Does that make you feel a little bit better?

ELINOR: A little...

Bibi, will you teach me how to make

your famous birthday carrot dumplings,

just like your Bibi taught you?

BIBI: [gasp] I would be honored to.

BIBI: This much water and this much flour.

And we'll pour it in slowly as we stir.

[soft thump]

[soft thump]

After we're done mixing it,

we'll let it sit until the dough is as soft as a bunny's ear.

ELINOR: [giggles]

BIBI: Pinch, and pinch, and pinch.

ELINOR: Pinch, and pinch, and pinch!

MR. RABBIT: [chuckles]

[gulp]

BABA: Mmm! Those were the best birthday dumplings I've had in a long time. Mmm, mmm!

MR. RABBIT: My stomach agrees!

ALL: [laugh]

ELINOR: Thank you for teaching me how to make the dumplings, Bibi!

And for showing me, I don't have to do it all by myself.

BIBI: You're welcome, Elinor.

And thank you for wanting to make them for me.

And for reminding me how sweet it is to make food together!

ELINOR: Did you have a good birthday?

BIBI: Watching the bearded dragons and making dumplings was so fun!

But the best part had to be spending time with my favorite bunny.

ELINOR: Well, lucky for you, I learned how to give great hugs

from the best hugger in the world... you!

BIBI: Oh! ALL: [chuckles]
