Christmas Mixer, The (2025)

Post by bunniefuu »

On the 23rd we're

making cupcakes

Cinnamon swirls

like the old days

I miss the first time I got

a kiss under the mistletoe

I want one this year though

'Tis the season

And boy I been wishing

[Daria] Well, this has all

the signs of being delicious.

It's shaping up to be

a beautiful trifle.

Just layer it up with

your favorite berries

and some vanilla cake.

[Chef Ruby] All it needs now

is a little more cream.

Daria.

Wow. Okay.

Sam, are you getting this?

[Daria] This looks amazing.

Wow!

Well, thank you Chef Ruby.

This is a fantastic dessert

to bring to any dinner

with friends or family.

And I'm not trifling with you.

[they both laugh]

Seriously.

I forgot how much I

used to love baking

during the holidays.

Baking is power,

Daria. Embrace it.

Ugh. I used to bake all

the time during Christmas

with my mom and my Nana.

[Daria] I forgot

just how fun it is.

You know what they say?

Baking is love for

all your senses.

I love that quote, Ruby.

The role of my new cookbook,

"Ruby's Holiday Treats",

along with recipes for

all of these sweet treats.

Oh, well, we sure have learned

a lot today, haven't we, Mary?

I'm definitely going

to try those at home.

Thanks, Daria. And Merry

Christmas to you, Ruby.

And that's it for us today.

Stay warm. It's a

snowy one today.

[Floor Director] And we're out.

Thanks.

Hey.

Hey. That was a great segment.

Thank you.

I mean, Mary and

everyone, they're great,

but you really make this

show fun for the audience.

I just want our viewers

to have a Merry Christmas.

Well, I have a great

time filming it.

Now we feast.

Mm-hmm.

Daria, Sam, can I see

you in my office please?

Do you know what that's about?

Um, maybe a Christmas bonus.

Mm-hmm.

How can they let us all go

right before Christmas?

Scrooge would be proud.

[Sam] I thought the show

was getting great numbers.

[Daria] Hey, silver lining.

At least we don't have to

wake up early anymore.

I'm not going to lie, Daria,

I'm going to miss

our coffee breaks.

One last one for the road?

Double espresso over

ice with honey.

You get me.

That was literally my dream job.

I moved here from the

west for this job.

I thought I was going

to put down roots.

All I ever wanted was to

be a morning show reporter.

Good morning. This is

Daria Wallace reporting live.

[Sam laughs]

What?

Well, oh no, I'm not

laughing at you.

I just have the cutest

image in my head

of teenage Daria practicing

in front of the mirror

with maybe a hairbrush

for a microphone.

Practicing your lines.

It's just really cute.

You get me.

I do not want to move back.

I finally found an

apartment that I like

that doesn't feel

like a shoebox.

I hope I can keep my apartment.

I finally became

a camera operator.

I'm not just an assistant.

[both say together]

I did not see this coming.

[both say together]

Sorry. What were you saying?

You first.

It's been an honor to

work with you. It has.

I feel the same way.

We make a dynamic team.

Yeah, we do.

Let's keep in contact. Okay.

Yeah, yeah. Absolutely.

Good luck, Sam.

Break a leg out there, Daria.

Daria!

Hey Mom.

You were fantastic on

the show this morning.

You should see all

the comments online.

People love you.

They fired me.

No. Why?

Just cutbacks.

They are cutting the show

and taking from

the national feed.

Nothing personal.

Nothing personal?

Firing people right

before Christmas

feels like coal in

your stocking to me.

Very personal.

Tell me about it.

Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry.

You were so happy there.

Donna said I was the charm

that kept the lights

on at the station.

I guess they wanted

a different bulb.

Exactly. People tune in

to see your fun stories.

Tuned, you mean.

I just don't understand this.

My petting zoo piece last

summer got the highest ratings

they'd ever seen on the show.

I don't know what happened.

Ratings schmatings.

They're making a big mistake.

A little cookie therapy?

Forget therapy.

These will heal me.

Is this Nana Shirley's recipe?

No, that's Nana

Shirley's handwriting.

It's from her sister.

Your great aunt Charlotte.

Wow, that's so cool.

Remember how you used to

be obsessed with this recipe box?

Oh! Oh, sprinkle surprise.

I was quite the wiz with

my little toy baking oven.

You sure were.

I don't know why I haven't

done much baking since then.

Fast tracking your

journalism degree

and then studying long hours

and forging a career overnight.

You hardly had time

to microwave a meal,

let alone bake.

That's true.

Hey, is Nana Shirley

coming for Christmas?

Oh, I don't think so, honey.

She is so busy with her

hectic Florida schedule,

shuffleboard tournaments,

water aerobics,

and an exclusive Mahjong league.

Okay. I get why I was too busy.

But Nana Shirley's

been retired for years.

How can she not be

coming for Christmas?

[phone rings]

Oh, sorry, girls. One sec.

Hi, you beautiful.

Hi, Nana Shirley.

How can you not be

coming for Christmas?

Oh, I'm still on the fence.

It's a big trip and I'm

just settling in here, and,

well, how's my favorite

news reporter?

Actually, they fired me.

What?

Anyone that would fire you

should have their head examined.

Well, apparently

it's just layoffs.

I guess viewership was down.

Well, forget it.

You were outgrowing

that station anyway.

Thanks for saying that, Nana.

Listen to me, Daria.

You have a gift for

connecting with people,

and that's all that

matters in this world.

So don't you let

this get you down.

You get out there and look

for a place that deserves you.

You are officially

my new manager.

Oh, mwah!

Chin up Daria Jean.

You hear me?

Oh, I got to go. I'm holding

up the game here. Okay.

Ciao!

She's right, you know.

Getting back out there

is the best thing.

I suppose so.

Should I make up

some cookie tins

for prospective employers?

Can't hurt.

And don't forget to donate to

the Nordham Food

Pantry in our lobby.

Now get your spirit up with

these rocking Christmas tunes.

Hi!

How are you doing?

It's been while.

Yeah, I'm, I'm all right.

How's Robert?

Oh, we broke up months ago.

Really?

Yeah.

Then I can finally say that

guy was all wrong for you.

He just seemed like

the jealous type.

Yeah, definitely.

He did not love sharing

me with the public,

and he always felt like

I was cheating on him

with the morning updates.

Oh, speaking of sharing,

do you want to sit in with

me on the next segment?

I'm taking calls from

listeners with genius gift ideas.

That sounds so fun.

But I'm actually just around

spreading some Christmas cheer.

Ooh. These look delish.

And also wondering

if you're hiring?

Hiring?

Yeah. Looking for

a career change.

Okay. Well, over Christmas

we kind of scale back.

Uh, but come spring we'll

need roving reporters again.

Okay.

But I got to tell you,

Dar, it's freelance.

If I were you, I'd

stay where you are.

But if you're looking

for a career change,

have you ever thought

about podcasts?

Tell me what you love

about podcasting.

Oh yeah. Podcasting

is totally my jam.

Favorite three.

Um, True Crime something.

[Daria] The one

about the the cats.

Oh, wait, no,

I totally know one.

It has three famous guys.

So funny.

What makes you a great

Influencer Liaison?

- Influencer Liaison...

- [Interviewer's phone rings]

One second. One second.

Hello? Yeah yeah,

I'm not doing anything.

You are fantastic on camera.

But what about

your singing voice?

Can I sing?

Oh, you mean now?

Yeah, we won't be making

any decisions until the new year.

Hello?

[phone ringing]

Rude. It's Christmas,

don't you know?

Uh, yeah. Okay. Sorry. My bad.

Sam. Oh, no, no.

I'm just trying to set

up an interview here.

I've been presenting

myself on air forever,

but this is just...

[Daria] You have

my full attention.

Trust me. I hear you.

I was just calling to check

in. See how are you doing?

How's the job hunt going?

You hear back from anyone?

Oh, I've heard back.

Just not any good news.

At least you're hearing back.

Sometimes I wonder if these

online applications ever find

their way to a real human.

[microwave pinging]

[Daria] Tell me about it.

[microwave pinging]

What was that ping?

Oh, I'm, uh, just

having some leftovers.

Leftover leftovers.

Hey, how about you come

with me to my parents'

house tonight?

My mom's a really good cook

and I could use the buffer.

A buffer?

Yeah, they mean well.

But they want to know all

the details of my job search,

and, you know...

Say no more. A buffer it is.

That was delicious.

Thank you very

much, Mrs. Wallace.

Thanks Sam. It's Katrina.

What about this drive

home from work today?

Oh, what about all this snow?

I don't know about you guys,

but I actually

really love the snow.

Where I'm from, the sunshine

can be a little relentless.

Relentless sunshine,

sounds terrible.

[laughter]

Well, it was so nice

to meet you, Sam,

but if you'll all excuse me,

I'm going to get a

start on the dishes.

Please. Let me help.

Ah, no need to, but

I like this one.

Dad, he's just a

friend from work.

Oh, I like this

friend from work.

Thank you. Are these homemade?

They look professional.

My mom's the best

baker in the world.

I don't know about that.

It's not rocket science.

A lot of butter

and a great mixer.

Trust me, if I had made these,

they would not taste

like a Christmas miracle.

Nonsense. You are a

great little baker.

I keep telling her

that she can borrow

the family recipe box anytime.

All right, first off, this does

taste like Christmas magic,

but secondly, you have a

special family recipe box?

Mm-hmm.

More like a time capsule.

[Sam] Look at that.

This is vintage. Can I?

Yeah.

It gets handed down to

each new generation.

Wow.

Look at all these.

Comes with the stains

and everything.

Meringue snowman.

That sounds adorable.

Oh, I haven't made those

since Daria was little.

I used to line them up and

make them fight each other.

And then I'd eat the

whole battle scene.

[they all laugh]

Oh, look. Auntie Jeanie's pinwheel cookies.

You know what? I have an idea.

How many holiday

recipes are in the box?

I don't know. 20 or 30.

To me, that sounds

like a fun challenge.

Challenge?

Yeah. Baking your way

through the holidays

with old family recipes,

but doing it on camera.

Like an online channel.

And you could run it.

[Sam] Yeah. Come on.

It would be just like

the cooking segment

of the morning show.

Tomorrow's December 1st.

How would we get

that all organized?

I know how to operate a camera.

I can just go rent the gear.

See your first investor.

We could do like a

mother daughter live show.

Oh no. Count me out.

I've got a lot going on with

helping at the food pantry

and hosting Christmas.

You should do it though, Daria

By myself?

Yeah. You're amazing

in front of the camera

and you worked alongside

the cooks for the show.

You'd be great.

I haven't baked anything

myself in years.

That's not true.

There was that birthday

cake for your dad, but...

Oh, right.

That was the infamous

sugar salt mix up.

[Sam laughing] I'm never

going to let that one go.

Thank you for that.

Secondly, it doesn't

have to be perfect.

That's part of the charm

of the show, right?

Yeah. You can market

it on your socials.

You already have

a big following.

Okay,

if you're going to do it right,

you're going to use

the magic mixer.

I'm going to box it up for you.

Magic what?

Well, maybe if I had the

luck from the magic mixer.

Come on...

Okay. Okay.

Let's do it.

Perfect. So we've

got the magic mixer.

We've got a box of

tested family recipes.

We've got our star,

we've got a cameraman.

I'd say we've got a show.

Uh, now we just have to

figure out a name for it.

How about the family,

uh, holiday, uh...

[Sam and Daria together]

Baking challenge.

Okay. Three, two...

Welcome to the very first

Family Holiday Baking Challenge.

I'm Daria Wallace, and behind

the camera is Sam Bailey.

Hey, you.

You may know me from

"Good Morning Nordham",

but today I'm coming to

you live from my loft,

which we have turned

into a holiday studio.

Now this...

This isn't just an

old box to my family.

This is a treasure

chest filled with

sweet Christmas memories.

Every worn card,

every faded note

holds a holiday recipe

passed down from generation

to generation, with a couple of

new ones added along the way.

This very box filled

with love and tradition

and way too much

butter and sugar,

is exactly what inspired the

Family Holiday Baking Challenge.

These, these are some

of the amazing women

who have contributed

recipes to this box.

Here's my Nana Shirley.

My great Aunt Charlotte.

My mom Katrina.

And here's me in a waiting pool.

Okay. Wrong season.

So, this is the challenge.

We have 32 delicious

recipes to bake in 24 days.

Now, I'm not saying

it's going to be perfect.

In fact, there will likely

be some serious disasters

since I haven't done much

baking since I was a kid.

And last time I did,

I was using an oven

that was heated

with a light bulb.

But we're going to have fun and

I'm going to try my best.

And you've also got some

fun facts to share.

Right, Daria?

Mm-hmm. Cookie Crumbs!

Helpful hints and tips

supplied by my mom.

Now this is the

official cookie counter.

Well, we're going to be baking

more than just cookies,

but, um, told you it

wasn't going to be perfect.

Oh. And we are going

to be donating to

the Nordham Food Pantry.

You can click the

button down below,

or if you're a local,

you can head on down

to our favorite radio station

and donate any non-perishables.

Let's spread some

Christmas cheer to those

who need it the most,

right, Sam?

Yes, absolutely.

Everyone, don't take for

granted that there's enough

to eat this holiday season.

Donate generously, Nordham.

We're counting on you.

Let's take care of each

other out there, people.

Okay. It's time for

recipe number one.

Uh, you see people, this is

so much cooler than having

a recipe app on your phone.

Christmas sugar cookies,

a classic.

Where every baker should

begin their cookie journey.

Oh. And we are

going to be using...

This mixer passed down

through three generations

in my family.

We like to think it has

a little bit of magic.

Hey, this dough turned

out pretty good.

So you can use whatever

cookie cutter shapes you want.

I have Christmas trees,

snowman and stars.

Cookie Crumb!

If your dough is too soft,

it will stick to the

corners of the stars.

I'm going to be using

the Christmas tree.

Just make sure whatever

shape you choose

to put little holes in the top

so you can hang it

from your tree later.

Oh, Daria. I don't know if

that's always such a good idea.

Why? It looks so charming.

Well, just saying.

Be careful everyone at

home if you have pets.

One year we hung a bunch

of cookies on the tree

and our puppy, Bruiser,

was home all alone.

We came back, the tree

was knocked over.

All the cookies were gone.

Cookie crumbs everywhere.

Oh, not good.

Sorry to hear that.

Um, okay, so hanging

cookies on trees,

not necessarily pet friendly.

Fair enough.

Well, these cookies are

ready to go in the oven.

And I will be decorating

these cookies,

which I pre-baked last night.

Well, the third round,

which finally turned out.

Don't worry.

Nobody's judging you.

Are you all secretly judging me?

Okay.

Let me try that again.

Am I missing something here?

Um, I don't know, Daria.

Maybe use the lifeline.

Yes. Nana Shirley.

Hi, Nana Shirley.

[Nana Shirley on phone]

Hi beautiful. Oh wow.

Look at your whole setup.

I love it.

Oh, and who's

the cute cameraman?

That's Sam.

Um, Sam, meet my Nana Shirley.

Nice to meet you, Daria's Nana.

Oh, adorable.

Okay, so what's the problemo?

Here, let me patch her through.

Okay.

Oh, I see.

You just don't know

how to flood a cookie.

Flood, like with water?

No, no honey. It's a technique.

Instead of just splattering

it on there willy-nilly,

you draw an outline

around the cookie first.

Oh, okay.

And then you start spreading

out from the center.

Oh, but don't be shy.

It takes a lot of icing.

Royal icing, Nana Shirley.

Yes. And it can be as

fussy as Buckingham Palace.

Believe me.

Hey, this is really working.

Thanks for the Cookie

Crumb, Nana Shirley.

I remember when I

first made these.

Your mom was little and I

was trying to stage the perfect

Christmasy house because my

boss was coming for dinner.

Okay, here is the last part.

Oops.

Why are you nervous, Mom?

Is your boss mean?

No, he's not mean.

I just never had him

over to the house.

Is Daddy coming?

I'm afraid he's still out town.

But he's hoping I get

this promotion too.

What's a promotion?

It means work that I like better

and more money for us to

spend on food and clothes.

What about toys?

Well, I don't want to take

Santa's job away from him.

I know he got your letter.

How do you know that?

Oh, he talks to me all the time.

Gives me a ring.

That's how I know that butterscotch cookies

are his favorite.

Should we make that next

so we can put them out

for him on Christmas Eve?

Okay, let's go finish the tree.

How's this?

Oh, it's perfect.

Aww.

Oh, got to go kids.

Robert from room 307

is having a tiki party

and I have to find

my grass skirt.

[many notification dings]

Daria, the comment

section is blowing up.

Hmm. Well we will have

to have Nana Shirley back

so we can find out what happened

with her big promotional dinner.

But these cookies are

looking totally tree worthy.

Wouldn't you say Sam?

Absolutely.

What is it? What is it?

Well, I am going to be doing

the pre-baking tonight

and you will get to find

out what it is tomorrow.

Aw...

That's it for today, bakers.

Thanks for watching.

And don't forget to

like and subscribe.

And remember to donate

to the food pantry.

Yes. Every donation counts.

Bake it easy!

And we're...

[beeping]

And we're out.

That was a great first show.

Good job.

I don't know if I can keep

this off for another 23 days.

Daria, we had 200 views.

Come on. That's not

bad for day one.

We just got to keep

hitting socials.

Hey, maybe I can see

if Maryk will have us

on her radio show.

Brilliant idea. Yes.

Hey, thanks for

doing this with me.

I know it's a lot.

Well, thank you for getting us

both work over the holidays.

Unpaid work.

I still like it

and I don't want to be

doing anything else.

Hey, why don't I, uh,

order some takeout.

We can start prepping for

tomorrow. What do you say?

No, no, no. You should

go home and rest.

What am I going to do at home?

What?

Nothing. It's just,

it's nice to be around

a fellow workaholic.

[Daria laughs]

[muted]

[Daria] Oh!

[Sam] Whoa!

[Sam chuckles]

[Sam] All right. Ready? Ready?

Yep.

Oh, before I forget,

I got you something.

When did you have

time to get this?

We were here so late last night.

Open it.

I love it. Thank you.

I figured we could change it up.

Make the visuals

exciting for the show.

Okay. So let me

get this straight.

Not only are you co-producer,

director, camera operator,

assistant camera, but

now you're also wardrobe.

Yeah. I don't know if

you know this about me,

but I'm multi-talented.

[they both laugh]

All right...

So 10 seconds.

Okay.

Good.

Ready?

And three, two...

Hello cookie lovers.

Today we are taking on

mini gingerbread houses.

And you know what that means?

We get to eat a lot of candy.

Look at the color on these.

Yeah. We'll never know how

many we ruined last night.

Except now they do.

[snort chuckles]

Good thing that I made two,

because I am definitely going

to mess the first one up.

Or maybe it's an invitation

for some friendly competition.

You think?

Unless the audience does

not want to see that.

[message pings]

Oh wow. Yeah. Okay.

That's an overwhelming

Yes they want to

see a competition.

Come on.

Come on.

Okay

Everybody, this is Sam.

Come on.

Just be normal.

Hi everybody.

Okay, so these are the

pieces that we need

to make our mini

gingerbread houses.

So wait, we're going to

be assembling it with this.

Yep.

Why don't we just use glue?

Come on. They're

not going to know.

I would know.

Hey, I have a lot of family

pride riding in this.

Well, family pride prepare

to get your butt whooped

by a competitive cameraman.

I thought you said you

didn't know how to bake.

Maybe I do.

Oh wait, hold on.

What am I getting

myself into here?

Am I about to be the new host

of Baking with Betrayal?

Ready, set...

Gingerbread house.

Okay, wait. There's

only one piping bag.

So I think we have to share...

[struggle and splatting]

[screams] No no no!

Come on, go go!

Licorice on the front door?

Oh yeah. It's a daisho.

A what?

A daisho. You know when

the Samurai warriors would put

the crossing swords

above the door?

You learn something

new every day, folks.

Mm-hmm.

Ooh. Front walkway. Next level.

Well, thank you.

I don't know if it competes

with your icing rooftop though.

Oh, 30 seconds left.

[Sam] Go, go, go, go, go,

go, go, go, go, go.

[timer rings]

- Hands up!

- Time's up!

Okay. Let's see what

the audience has to say.

Oh, right. Yeah. Closeups.

Forgot I'm still

working the camera.

Lots of love for the

licorice front door.

Oh, and also on my

gumdrop roof line.

It's kind of looking

like it's a tie.

Well, someone says yes,

it's definitely a tie.

Someone else says it's a tie

because they're

such a good match.

Our numbers are way up.

Yeah, I can see that.

This is great.

Okay, let's just rewind.

Let's see what happened.

Oh, okay. It looks like...

- Right here.

- Yeah, that's right.

When you stepped out from

behind camera. [Laughs]

That's no surprise.

You're a superstar, Sam.

I think they just like

the chemistry between us.

Yeah. Uh, I'm, I'm hungry.

Do you want to get some food?

Yeah, we got a kitchen

full of gingerbread houses.

Amazing protein?

I know a great spot.

Let's do it.

[Sam] I'm telling you, you're

going to love this place.

They've got it

down to a science.

Sam, how's my favorite

camera wizard?

Ah, doing well. Doing well.

I brought reinforcements

this time.

Hi, I'm Daria.

Nice to meet you.

I know you. I see you

on my TV every morning.

Yeah. Um, well, not anymore

unfortunately, but, um,

Sam and I are working

on a project of our own.

Good to hear that.

So what'll be? Get you some

fuel for all this scheming?

Yes, absolutely.

I'm thinking for her first time,

two half racks, extra

smoky barbecue sauce

and the rustic hand cut fries.

It's a moral imperative.

I'm trusting you.

Mm. That sounds delicious.

You got it. Grab a seat.

I'll be right out with it.

Fellow barbecue nerds.

Hard to come by out here.

I bet that's true.

Thanks Jimmy.

Oh, so that was amazing

and delicious.

Oh, fall off the bone meat.

Mic drop.

Yeah. Because it's

the real deal.

Do you eat like

this all the time?

At home? Yes, absolutely.

I had my go-to spot.

It's amazing.

When I came here, I started

going through rib withdrawal.

It was awful.

But this place saved me.

Can't believe I've

never noticed it before.

Yeah. Are you sure

you've actually

spent your entire life here?

Pretty much. I moved to the

city for a broadcast school,

but I'm not much of

a big city person.

Yeah, you sound like me.

Grew up in a small

town and I prefer it.

Okay. So I can

finally ask you...

What? What'd I do?

Why on earth would you leave

all that beautiful sunshine

for upstate New York?

That's it?

That's your big question.

Yeah.

So very easily, I didn't want to

be a camera assistant anymore.

And I kept trying to

break through and come up

and it wasn't

happening where I was.

So I cast a wider net, got

a job here and I took it.

So you moved just for the job?

Yeah, pretty much.

And I was curious what a

real winter would be like.

What do you think so far?

Novelty hasn't worn off yet.

Everyone keeps telling me

to wait until mid-March.

I'll probably reevaluate

my life then.

True. But I love the snow

too. Don't get me wrong.

By the time summer comes

around, I am ready.

But I don't know, there's

just something about

being so cozy inside when

it's freezing outside.

What do you miss

most about home?

Oh, my family.

My family a lot.

My mom's a sweetheart

and I have a brother.

He's married, has a kid.

Oh, actually two kids.

Uh, he just had one.

I haven't met him yet.

I always wanted a

brother or sister.

When I was younger,

I would spend my time

getting lost in books or

playing my imagination games.

Imagination games?

What are those?

Just make-believe stuff.

I'd cut the bottom out

of a cardboard box

and paint the front

like a TV set.

And I'd put on shows from

the inside for my parents.

- Really?

- Yeah.

And what kind of shows?

Everything from news

to dancing competitions.

I even had a nature show.

I used my stuffed animals.

[with an accent] The amazing

life, the wild teddy bear.

Accent and all.

Mm-hmm.

That's really quite cool.

So basically you were

one of the kids that

pretended to be an astronaut

and then you actually

grew up to become one.

I guess.

I was pretty bossy too.

I had a remote control

out of cardboard

and I'd yell at my parents

to change the channel.

So not much has changed there.

[Sam laughs]

I'm kidding.

No, that's pretty amazing.

You and your brother

ever do stuff like that?

No. No, no, no. Not at all.

I guess it's pretty weird.

Oh, I'm sorry.

I didn't mean it like that.

No, I love that you

grew up doing that.

And I can picture little Daria

slating out a whole program,

network show for your parents.

And it's amazing.

Um, just in a small town,

the boys, all we did

was play football.

That's pretty much all you did.

Did it pay off?

Are you any good?

Okay. I can throw a ball

from point A to point B,

but not half as

good as my brother.

He was kind of a big

deal in high school.

So you're still

close with him then?

Yeah, absolutely.

He's my best friend.

I can't wait for

you to meet him.

He's going to love us together.

You know, for the show,

uh, on the show.

[Jimmy] So, anything

else for you two?

How about, uh,

some pie? Ice cream?

What'd I say?

Well, it's just that we've

been doing this holiday baking

show, so every single day

we're eating more desserts

than you can possibly imagine.

Holiday baking.

I know you've got that,

whipped shortbread you like.

Yeah, a hundred percent.

It's my favorite.

Of course, we are.

Uh, what about, uh,

like a peach cobbler?

Ooh, German chocolate cake,

chocolate, pecans, coconut.

Oh, that sounds amazing.

Coming right up.

[Daria] Yes.

Oh...

Make room!

[fun Christmas song begins]

Oh it's a beautiful

time of the year

[Daria] Today's recipe is

pinwheel cookies.

Thanks recipe box.

Cookie Crumb!

Use fun sprinkles.

And we don't have

to go nowhere

We'll spend our days

without a care

The snow keeps falling

I will too

I'll fall for you

Getting ready for

the yuletide

Hold my hand when

we go outside cause

Oh I love you most

when it snows

Hi everyone. Today we are

making window cookies.

Cookie Crumb!

Use a seedless jam.

[Sam] Very nice.

Notice the technique

I love you most

when it snows

So let's have a snow day

Let's have a snow day

Let's have a snow day

Let's have a snow day

You are my body by the fire

All night I'm

listening to the choir

This snow's still falling

and I am too

Falling for you

Today on our Family

Holiday Baking Challenge,

we have chocolate

crinkle cookies.

Cookie Crumb! Use the

best cocoa you can find.

I love you most

when it snows

Oh I love you

most when it snows

Oh I love you

most when it snows

And it shows so

let's have a snow day

Oh I love you

most when it snows

Oh I love you

most when it snows

Oh I love you

most when it snows

And it shows so

let's have a snow day

Let's have a snow day

Let's have a snow day

Oh, mm-hmm.

Yeah!

That's amazing.

- [music ends]

- [Sam laughs]

This peppermint bark

is my mom's favorite.

And mine.

[Katrina] Yo Hoo!

[Daria] Say her name and

she shall appear.

Oh, rats.

I haven't ruined

the filming, have I?

[Sam] No, no, no. We are live.

But come on in Katrina.

And now we smash.

Oh, I love smashing.

Even the most mild

mannered baker

likes to let off a little steam.

[they both laugh]

[smashing sounds]

I got to get in on this.

- Yes!

- Okay.

- Thank you.

- You're welcome.

- [smashing sounds]

- [laughter]

Okay. Okay. You know

what, that is great.

Thank you so much. Nicely done.

Okay, let's add it in.

Perfect.

Mom, would you like

to do the honors

of picking the next recipe?

Yes.

Okay, here we go.

Ooh. Nice.

Okay. Well that is

it for today, bakers.

Tomorrow we will see you with

some fruity mini marshmallows.

Bake it easy!

Bake it easy!

And we're out.

[Sam] The viewer's loved

that your mom stopped by.

[Daria] Yeah, such

a nice surprise.

Ugh. I am exhausted.

Well, we're going to have

to pull some bigger days

if we want to get

through it all.

Mm-hmm.

[Sam chuckles]

What?

What?

Nothing. Nothing.

Yikes.

Come on. I'm too lazy

to get up. Just tell me.

Okay. Betty from Montana,

she says,

Sam can be my

peppermint bark any day.

Okay. Now I understand

the look on your face.

It gets better.

Irene from Baltimore, she says,

They're so cute together.

Is anyone watching this

for the recipes anymore?

[Daria] Continue.

Oh, no, no, no, no.

It's uh, it's getting

a little out of hand.

They're coming up

with ship names.

- No way.

- Oh, yeah, yeah.

Tell me, let's go.

So there's a w*r going on.

Half the people want Sam-Maria

and the other half of

the people want Darium.

Darium. What?

That sounds like something

you pick up at the pharmacy.

Take two darium before meals...

To prevent further sam-maria.

[they both laugh]

Sam-maria is way better, right?

Yeah.

What?

[Sam] Nothing.

Your face just got all sad.

No. Did it?

Sam, you can tell me anything.

I just don't want to

be a joke to you.

You're not a joke to me.

No, I mean, like, I want you

to think that I'm funny.

You're very funny.

I just also want you

to take me seriously.

You are seriously very funny.

Sam, I think you're great.

I think you're great too.

[message notification]

Maryk wants to have us on

the radio to interview us

because the donations have

been piling in from the show.

That's great.

Yeah. Isn't that amazing?

[Sam] You just do

it so effortlessly.

[Daria] Don't be nervous.

There won't be any

hard hitting questions.

No, I know. I know.

I'm just not used to

this on camera stuff.

It's radio.

Right.

Wow. Daria Wallace.

Do you think I could get

an autograph for my niece?

Yeah. What's your niece's name?

Martha.

Well actually it's for me.

I'm Martha.

I haven't been watching

the morning show lately.

You haven't been on.

Yeah, they canceled the

whole show. Part of the show.

You were the best part

of the news team.

That's so sweet. Thank you.

But you know, Daria's

got her own channel now.

You should look it up online.

Thank you. I'll tune in.

[Daria] Right. Merry Christmas.

And tell your friends.

Daria's back!

She's got her own channel.

I'm so sorry about that, Sam.

What are you talking about?

What are you apologizing

for? That was awesome.

- It was?

- Yeah.

Come on. I'm like walking

around with a celebrity.

You just got noticed

on the street.

Plus we just got a new fan.

She's going to go tell everyone.

Come on. That was just so cool.

According to my ex-boyfriend,

that's actually like the

least cool thing ever.

Really?

Yeah. I'm pretty sure

that's why we broke up.

Because you have fans

and you're amazing.

Come on. I mean, how

insecure can a guy get?

So neither of you

are the every year

around the holiday

I have to bake kind of baker?

Is that right?

No, I mean, I'm not really

an anything kind of baker.

Baking runs as a

tradition in my family,

but I just hope some

of it rubbed off on me.

No lies. She's a great baker.

She's just being modest.

Most of the recipes

have turned out great.

Keyword. There is most.

[Sam] So the shortbread

was a little tough.

[Daria] I'm feeling a lot

of shame about it, Maryk.

I bet. You're taking

this very seriously.

But I have to ask,

any plans on getting back

to television, Daria?

I mean, I would

definitely consider it,

but it's more about if

they would consider me.

Well anyway, people can check

out this online show now,

up until Christmas Eve.

[Maryk] The gingerbread

house episode was hilarious.

You two are having a

lot of fun with this.

Yeah, it's a lot of

holiday shenanigans.

And what about

behind the scenes?

Uh, we just do our best not

to eat all the

desserts for dinner.

No, I mean,

is there any romance in

the air between you two?

Um...

[Maryk] Whoops. Seems like

I hit a live wire there.

You don't have to answer that,

but reading the

comments in your feed,

I'd say it's definitely

on the minds of your fans.

[whispers] I'm so sorry.

[Maryk] Uh, why

don't I play a song?

Let's rock around

the Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!

And bake it easy!

Oh,

I did not mean to put

you on the spot like that.

I honestly thought

you were a couple.

No, it's okay.

Totally, totally fine.

No, we could use the PR

and we are the couple

that isn't, the spinoff.

Just really appreciate

you doing this show promo.

Oh, of course.

It's the least I can do after

you calling out the food drive.

Donations are way up this

year, thanks to your shout outs.

[doorbell rings]

Oh, here we go.

I'll get the door, Mom.

Thank you sweetie.

[Young Katrina] Welcome to

our home, Mr. and Mrs. Harper.

This way.

Aren't you darling.

You must be Katrina.

Hey ya kid.

- Hi Henry.

- Hey.

- And hello Bonnie.

- Hi.

It's so nice to finally

meet you, Shirley.

Henry has told me

so much about you.

Please let me take your jackets.

I'm so sorry Bill

couldn't be here.

He's off on a sales trip.

Oh, next time.

Please come in.

Let's have a seat before dinner.

You have a lovely home.

Thank you.

What manners.

If only our kids were

half as nice as this.

Too late for them.

They're already in college.

We're trying to save

up for that hurdle.

Katrina's going to college?

Of course I am.

Well, good for you kid.

It ain't cheap, that's for sure.

Well, maybe if you moved

up to the sales department,

Shirley, it might make

things a little bit easier.

Oh.

I'm rooting for you.

Well, that certainly would

be the modern choice now,

wouldn't it?

Well, the company needs

to get with the times.

Women are in the workforce

in every sector now.

And insurance shouldn't

be any different.

I'd love the chance

to prove myself,

but I understand there

are other candidates.

I would have to consider

the men in the running.

What? Like Tony?

He's hardly a man.

He's still in the mail room.

But he just got married.

He would need to provide.

Well, Shirley needs to

provide too. You heard her.

They're saving up for college.

It's not the same.

Shirley has a husband

bringing in pay.

Henry, that's hardly the point.

She's earned the promotion.

I know, I know.

Don't throw it down my throat.

I haven't decided yet.

Oh, that's okay.

Well, shall we eat?

Yeah, I'm starved.

Something smells great in here.

Thank you.

I'm serving Coq au Vin.

Oh.

Pretty chic.

Merci.

Everyone wanted to make

Coq au Vin back then.

It was so popular.

I love this story, Nana Shirley.

And if I weren't about to

mess up this pie right now,

I'd ask you to keep going.

But, these apples

are going everywhere.

Well spread more applesauce.

Oh, okay.

And more apples be generous.

Hmm. Cookie Crumb!

Add lots of apples.

You got it.

Now, more hands are

a big help this time.

Oh, that's my cue.

All right, let's rock and roll.

Scoot over.

Yep. Keep going. You got it.

I'm off to the next hole.

- I mean...

- Yeah. Okay.

You know what?

For what it lacks

in presentation,

I think it will make

up for in taste.

[message ping]

Uh, somebody says A

for effort. At least we tried.

I mean that's, that's nice.

Aw, our viewers are so nice.

That was my dad, wasn't it?

Yes it was.

[message ping]

He says he's swinging by

for pie and coffee later.

Nice.

Hey Sam. We actually did it.

You know, I'm not mad at it.

Pie for the win.

Thumbprint cookies.

Definitely not a win.

These just look like pancakes.

Well, you could smother

them in maple syrup.

Fry up some bacon. You've

got a pretty good breakfast there.

I guess...

Pfeffernsse!

These are one of the

oldest recipes in our box.

Good old, great Aunt

Charlotte brought them

into our family tradition.

My dad loves them.

He bakes a huge

batch every year.

He brought us some. See!

[sniffs]

They smell amazing.

Mine?

Um, well...

Might make it in a family

tradition one year.

[she stabs at the cookies]

Hey Daria.

I bet they'd be great

on top of ice cream.

Hmm...

Cookie Crumb!

Today. That's literal.

Ice cream toppings.

Bake it easy.

And we're out.

Thanks for the save, Sam.

I got you.

Your great Aunt Charlotte

would be proud.

Seriously.

Oh, all these problems.

I can't do this.

Yeah. Well, our audience

doesn't really love it either.

Reviews are down, aren't they?

Yeah. They're down

just a little bit.

But it's no big deal.

Why did I think anyone

would want to watch me bake?

I'm a disaster.

Hey, that's my friend

you're talking about.

And for your information,

donations for the

charity have tripled.

- Really?

- Yeah. Look.

See.

[Sam] Look. It's all good.

You always know what to say.

Hey, why don't we

get out of here.

Let's get some Jimmy's barbecue.

It'll make us feel better.

What do you say?

Okay.

Okay. This is cheering me up.

All right. See.

There's nothing that a little

smokey barbecue can't cure.

How can you be so upbeat?

Our audience was so down today.

Because it's all part

of the natural flow

of having a hit

online baking show.

I mean, come on.

The way that I see it,

it's all happening as a natural

part of the Christmas chaos.

It's just a crazy time of year.

Everyone's out there, you know,

competing for toys and

clothes and knickknacks.

I mean, didn't your

parents ever get stressed

during this time of year?

I mean, mine sure did.

Yeah. My mom was

exhausted some years.

Yeah, mine too.

And sometimes when she

was exhausted or stressed,

she always add a

little catchphrase.

A little mantra.

Perfection is overrated.

She's right. You're right.

Oh, no, no. Don't give me

the credit for it. It's all her.

She's always right. And she

likes to be told that too.

But what I can tell you,

and it's all mine,

is don't forget, this

is bigger than cookies.

It is?

Yeah. Yeah, of course it is.

We're raising money for

charity. We're entertaining people.

We're, we're sharing

your family recipes.

We are literally embodying

the Christmas spirit

with what we're doing.

Yeah. Okay.

This is bigger than sugar.

Exactly.

Daria, why don't you

take the night off?

Just relax.

Don't pre-bake anything.

We can come in tomorrow

and we can wing it.

What's on the schedule anyway?

Oh, come on. It's date cookies.

We could do that in our

sleep. It's easy peasy.

Okay.

Seriously. I do not know

how you got everything done

during the holidays.

Oh, I didn't really

do that much.

Are you kidding me?

From decorating the

whole front of the house

to Santa and his elves

on the front lawn.

You had bows on the mantle,

garlands on the staircase.

And not to mention

all of the baking and

cooking that you did.

We were still taking sweets

out of the freezer in March.

That was great.

Oh, I was just so

excited for Christmas.

Especially when you were little.

I loved getting you

special presents.

Do you remember those mini

stuffies you loved so much?

Oh yeah, yeah.

There was the purple llama

and then the four leaf clover.

It was like a treasure hunt.

I went to so many stores.

Oh. And that one year I

finally found that little

take care of your pet game

way at the back of the shelf.

I was so happy, I did a

little dance in the shop.

[they both laugh]

You know, I still have that.

You made Christmas

so special for me.

Thank you.

Oh, well your Nana

Shirley set the bar.

She raised me the same

way with all the magic.

And one day you are

going to pass it on too.

Yeah.

Hey, and thank you so

much for all your help

with this baking challenge.

I didn't do much.

You are doing the actual work.

Well, you supplied equipment,

helpful baking tips,

and inspiration.

You've done a lot.

I know how you can

return the favor.

Absolutely. What can I do?

Help me find something to get

for your father for Christmas.

I am out of new ideas.

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

You guys have been

married for so long.

I feel like you've probably

gotten him everything.

Well, exactly.

And he's the person I

know best in the world.

Not me.

I've known him longer.

That's true.

Richard is my best friend.

The love of my life,

my forever person,

my soulmate.

Okay. I get it.

Hmmm...

Maybe you could do a redo.

And give him the same

gift as last year.

No, I, I mean, think of

a gift he really loved.

And maybe you can

redo it somehow.

Oh, when you were a toddler,

Nana Shirley babysat you

and I gave your

dad a weekend away.

Just the two of us.

We played golf and had a

lovely steak dinner after.

Hey, now you wouldn't

have to wait

for a special

weekend to do that.

True.

Can you think of anything else?

I know. I found this

beautiful leather briefcase

and it was on sale and I

had his initials put on it.

It was so lovely

looking that he said

that briefcase got him promoted.

Mm-hmm. He still uses that.

Yeah.

Hmm.

What a proper gift from a

young lady to a young man.

Well, I thought so.

Oh, your dad really loves it.

Oh. And it's also

getting very worn.

Hey.

[together] Shopping trip!

[phone ringing]

Well, hello there, Mother.

How are you?

Is there something

you want to tell me

about that Daria girl?

You're like two peas

in a pod on that show.

You just launched

right into it, huh?

There's no, hey, your father

and I miss you so much.

How are you? I'm great,

Mom. Thanks for asking.

Good to hear.

And...

Yes, I, uh, I really do like

her, but we're just friends.

It seems like more

when I'm watching.

So how's the new grandson?

Oh, he is a champion

eater already.

I tell you that kid's going to

be taller than your brother.

Yeah. Well, I can't

wait to meet him.

We can't wait to see you

sometime after this

big baking challenge.

I know.

Oh, hey, I, uh,

I ran into your old boss

at the supermarket yesterday.

He's very impressed

by your camera work.

Wait, Travis saw the show?

Don't be so surprised, he's

interested in your career.

Yeah, he was so interested,

he couldn't give me a promotion

over the course of five years.

Well, it could be that you left

right before all of

that was going to happen.

Yeah. Or it was never

going to happen, Mom.

He's just interested now

that someone else wants me.

Well, either way, this could

mean a future for you

back at channel nine.

Yeah, I'll believe

it when I see it.

How's Dad doing?

Good. He misses you.

I mean, he'll never tell

you that, but he does.

I miss you guys too.

These date cookies were

added to the recipe box

back in the eighties when

everyone was on a health kick.

My mom's not a huge fan.

She likes to add

chocolate to hers.

See, it says right here.

Sprinkle in chocolate

to make them taste better.

I think I'm with Nana

Shirley on this one though.

[message ping]

She says that a

proper date cookie

can out taste a brownie any day.

My own Cookie Crumb?

No chocolate.

Sam closeups.

Sam...

What? Um, yeah, of

course, closeup.

And, uh, um, don't forget.

We have to get another

recipe from the box

On it.

Wow. Full-time position

as head camera operator.

I mean, that's the

dream, isn't it?

Yeah, it was the dream

until we started this.

I mean, that's

apples and oranges.

We've been doing

like a fun experiment.

Yeah, but I thought we

were building something.

Yeah. And it's been amazing.

But this little experiment

turns into a pumpkin

on Christmas Eve,

which is next weekend

if you didn't already notice.

Yeah, I know.

And he asked if I would come in,

sh**t the rest of the holiday

content before Christmas Day,

but I can just ask to

start in the new year.

That way I'm not leaving

you in the lurches

for the last few days

of the challenge.

Listen, listen.

I really appreciate what

you're saying right now.

And selfishly, I would

love for you to stay.

You cannot lose out on this job.

I don't want to walk

away from this.

I don't want you to miss this

opportunity for six recipes.

It's seven.

Seven recipes.

Sam, I am not going to stand

in the way of your success.

You really want me to go?

Sam, I am really happy for you.

I'll see you around.

[sobbing]

[sniffles]

You two aren't supposed

to see me like this.

What happened?

He gave the promotion to Tony.

Honey, I'm so sorry.

You deserved this.

It wasn't meant to be, I guess.

I'm sorry, Mom.

You'll get the

next one for sure.

Nope, it's not a possibility.

Why not?

Because he fired me.

What? Why?

When he told me all about

how much Tony needs

the job more than me.

It was more than I could take.

Oh oh. What did you do?

I guess I told him what I

thought of his decision.

And then he said that

he wasn't going to

promote me anyway,

because I'm much too forward.

Whatever that means.

Are you laughing at me?

I'm sorry.

I just love picturing you

giving the Henry the what for?

He wouldn't know progress

if it snuck up and

bit him in the butt.

I hate his cologne anyway.

Now you don't have to

work on the holidays.

Aw, that's what I

call it, bright side.

You are going to find

something better.

I just know it.

What did I do to

deserve you two?

Don't be mad.

I started the church

windows without you.

What?

And they're not going so well.

Let's go have a look.

[Young Katerina]

It's time for the oil now.

I want to help.

Okay.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa!

That's enough!

Ooh, that feels nice.

Here. Feel that.

Ooh, that does feel nice.

[sniffs]

And it smells nice too.

Mmmm. Should we mix it now?

- Yeah.

- Okay.

[mixer whirrs]

Whoa!

So not only did you

not get the promotion,

but they fired you?

Well, to be fair,

I did say some pretty

unprofessional things that day.

Still. I bet the people are

not happy to hear that.

What are the comments in

the feed saying, Dad?

[many message pings]

Dad?

Yeah. Uh, right here.

What are some of the

comments in the feed?

Oh, the feed.

Um, I, I get that over here.

Yeah. Can you just read

some of them out loud?

Um, Wendy says, so many

feels I heart Nana Shirley?

And, uh, Pam from Palm

Springs says that

I do not heart that Henry,

she should have

got the promotion.

And then there's one that

says, where's Sam? I miss him.

Oh.

Thanks for your support, everyone.

But don't feel sorry for me.

And look at those

church windows.

They're going to look

exactly like stained glass

when they're done.

Finally redeeming myself

with a no bake recipe.

And are you going to tell

people what happened to Sam?

Yeah. Yeah.

So, uh, we have a

new camera operator.

My dad, Richard.

He very kindly volunteered

his time to help me out.

So thank you, Dad.

Come say hi.

Oh, he's feeling

a little shy right now.

But great news,

Sam got an amazing

job offer back home,

so he decided to go for it.

Oh, look at these

church windows.

So cute.

Well, thanks for watching.

Stay festive.

[phone rings]

[Nana Shirley]

You okay, beautiful?

Yeah, I'm, I'm fine.

Well, not to pile on with the

crowd, but I kind of thought

you were sweet on

each other too.

[Nana Shirley]

Pardon the pun.

We were, I mean, we are.

You and Mom always taught me

that a career is important

and I don't want to get in the

way of this opportunity,

Right...

Yes and no. I get it.

[Nana Shirley]

I'm here if you want to talk.

I love you Nana Shirley.

Right back at you, Daria.

Daria, you're a

sight for sore eyes.

Hey, Jimmy, what's new?

With me? Not much.

What's going on

between you and Sam?

What do you mean?

What do I mean? He went home.

Yeah. He got a good job.

I know that. Why did you

tell him to take it?

Well, I couldn't offer

him anything permanent.

Are you crazy?

He loves you more than

brisket loves a smoker.

He really does.

What? No.

The way he looks at you.

I can't believe

you'd tell him to go.

I care about him.

I want him to pursue his dreams.

Well, I think you're part

of that dream, Daria.

[sad music starts]

Tell me baby

are you coming home

Yes darling

I'm coming home

Snow is falling

I'm all alone

Yes darling

I'm coming home

Everything's all right

Christmas lights

are shining bright

And there's a star

up in the sky

[message ping]

It shines for you and I

And lights the winter road

back home tonight

Well, folks, it is

Christmas Eve Day.

You know what that means.

It is the final day of the

Family Holiday Baking Challenge.

As you can see, our

official cookie counter,

we only have one recipe left.

Sam convinced me to save

this recipe for last

because it's the only one that

both of our families

have in common.

We have a version of

dark chocolate cookies

in our family recipe box.

And Sam's family

has the tradition

of eating dark chocolate

cookies on Christmas Eve.

So this goes out to

Sam and his family.

Hi, you.

[mixer whirring]

Whew. Sam was right.

That was easy.

Now note, we have to dip

these cookies in white chocolate

and add festive sprinkles.

Sorry, Nana Shirley.

But this is the

Bailey family way.

I guess I should write that

on the back of the recipe card.

Now I'm the one adding

to the classics.

Now we have to dip the

cookies in white chocolate.

And then we add a

dust of sprinkles.

[phone rings]

Then we get a call from Nana.

Hi, Nana Shirley.

Hi ya kid.

I'm just watching

the show and well,

it looks like the lifeline

needs to call you.

Thanks. But Dad and I have

it covered, right, Dad?

[Nana Shirley] I know that.

I'm just calling to show

support for those cookies.

Thanks. Hope you don't mind

that we're using white chocolate.

Are you kidding? I love it.

Tradition is important,

but you also need to be

flexible enough to change.

Oh, hold on honey,

here's a flyer.

Ah, there you go.

This one, good to go?

Yeah. That looks great.

I'm so proud of you.

[Nana Shirley] Who knew

that baking and coconut oil

would lead to a best

selling face cream.

Love you Nana Shirley.

Wish you were coming

for Christmas.

Aw, call me from

your mom's place.

I will I just have to finish

the rest of these cookies.

Well, white chocolate

chocolate cookies.

Check.

Hey, let's say we take this

live stream on the road.

Hey guys, do you all

want to visit my mom

and see the house

that I grew up in?

I love you, Mom.

Thanks for all the help

answering my baking questions

and Mom and Dad for eating

the finished products.

Dad, do you want to pack up

early and we'll hit the road?

Okay.

[Richard] All right. Oh, and

don't forget your mom's mixer.

Oh, here, let me take

that off your hands.

Oh, it's freezing out there.

Especially when you're

dressed for a video set.

Your mom's probably

in the kitchen.

Oh, well, folks, this

is where it all began.

Oh no, don't film in here.

It's a complete mess,

Mom. Everyone's kitchen is

a mess on Christmas Eve.

See, this is the work

of a real professional.

[knocking at door]

We expecting someone?

I'll get it.

Oh, hey, hey. Get in here.

Get out of the cold.

Sam?

I heard someone was baking

shortbread cookies.

What are you doing here?

Uh, wait, are we still live?

Still live.

Okay, good because I've

got something I want to say.

And since you guys started

the baking journey with us,

I kind of feel like

it's appropriate

to have you here with us now...

To watch me do this.

Daria, this has been the best

December of my entire life.

Easily, aside from the fact that

we got fired at the

beginning of it.

But I do believe we were

thrown together for a reason.

I wanted to tell you that

this isn't some little

experiment for me.

So from the thumbprint

pancake cookie disaster

to supporting you

and watching you

taking care of your

fans on the street,

you're the most amazing woman

I've ever met in my entire life.

What about your job offer?

I don't want to be

with anybody else.

I don't want to be with

anyone else either.

So from baking,

traveling adventures,

I don't care what we

do or where we go.

As long as I'm with you,

You get me.

Okay, folks, we're going to

have Christmas Eve dinner now.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas.

And thanks for watching.

Oh, did you see today's tally

for the Nordham food donation?

Is it good?

Yeah, it's really good.

Here, look.

That's amazing.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas.

[doorbell rings]

What in the world?

Merry Christmas.

You came!

I couldn't spend

Christmas without my family.

Ma'am, it is such a pleasure

to finally meet you.

Don't you ma'am me.

Get in here.

I feel like I know you already.

Thank you. Likewise.

It's been such a pleasure.

Oh, you're so cute.

Oh. Oh, guys. Hi!

Come. Look how busy

you've been. Oh my goodness!

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas.

I wonder how many times this

mixer has whipped cream.

Hey, Mom, I brought

your recipe box back.

Just a few more sticky fingerprints on it.

You know what?

I think it's time

that you became

the keeper of the

holiday recipes.

Hey, why don't we

get them digitized

then everyone in the

family can use them.

Cookie Crumb!

[they all laugh]

I can get it done

at the library.

They have all the scanner

bells and whistles there.

Mom, I was thinking maybe

you and I can audition for

the new channel to do a mother

and daughter cooking show.

The people would love that.

Nana Shirley, you

got so many likes.

Well, I suppose I

can be persuaded.

There's a lot of life

left in this mixer yet.

Yes, there is.

Speaking of mixers,

would you two ladies join

me in the living room?

Okay.

Oh, a new magic mixer.

It's gorgeous.

Well, since I was hoping

to keep your mixer,

I had to get you one.

Thank you. I love it.

Well, and I accept the challenge

to co-host my lovely

daughter's cooking show.

And I think I know what

would make a great episode.

Baking a wedding cake.

[both say together]

But not until spring.

Well, Merry Christmas!

[they all laugh happily]

[upbeat Christmas music]

On the 23rd

We're making cupcakes

Cinnamon swirls

Like the old days

I miss the first time I got

a kiss under the mistletoe

I want one this year though

We're all going out

for the weekend

I promise I'll be good

'Tis the season

And boy I been wishing

There's somebody special

wrapped up under my tree

Don't normally say this

But since that

it's Christmas

I just want my baby

coming home back to me

Santa it's all I need

'Tis the season

And boy I been wishing

There's somebody special

wrapped up under my tree

Don't normally say this

But since that

it's Christmas

I just want my baby

coming home back to me

Santa it's all I need
