04x08 - Villain of the Year/Planes, Trains, and Oddmobiles

Post by bunniefuu »

[Orli] My name is Agent Orli,

and this is my partner, Agent Ozzie.

This is a hamster going on vacation.

Back to us.

We work for an organization run by kids

that investigates anything strange,

weird, and especially odd.

Our job is to put things right again.

[creature growling]

[zoom]

[gadget zaps]

[upbeat music]

[all]Whoa!

Whooo!

News time!

[zap]

[dings]

[growls]

[all cheering]

[Orli] We are "Odd Squad"!

[Captain O] "Villain of the Year."

Agent Orwell!

Agent Orwell?

Yes, Captain?

Ooh. Where is everyone?

Have you heard of the Domino Effect?

Yes, it's when one small thing

leads to bigger and bigger things

like lots of fallen dominos.

Oh, is that what the Domino Effect is?

Okay, it has nothing to do with that.

Basically, a huge domino monster has appeared in town,

and all the agents are dealing with it.

So, who's here in HQ?

Uh, Osgood the chef

and Osip the lift operator.

Okay, send them to my office.

And tell Osgood to bring a snack with him.

Aye, Captain!

[exciting music]

You wanted to see us, Captain?

Do you have a lift in here that needs operating?

No. Something very odd is happening,

and I need you two to look into it.

Us?Us?

All I look into is cookbooks.

It's Villain of the Year tomorrow.

What's Villain of the Year?

It's a contest held by the members

of the town's Villain Club.

The winner usually gets a paper crown and a rosette.

That sounds lovely.

But this year, the club is awarding

a menacing megabooster!

That doesn't sound as lovely.

What's a menacing megabooster?

It's a device that boosts the villain's power

so they can cause oddness in town in one go.

Orwell has some more information

and is standing right there.

Oh!Whoa!

Just the reaction I was hoping for.

My security team has been listening in

on the Villains Club,

and this is how they're planning to vote.

Take a look at this bar graph.

[squeaking]

Each magnet represents a vote

for a different villain.

[Captain O] The first bar is Stinky Sock Sue.

The second is Goopy Gus.

They have ten votes each.

[Captain O] If Stinky Sock Sue wins the megabooster,

there'll be stinky socks all around town.

Eh.Ew.

But if Goopy Gus wins,

there'll be sticky, slimy goop everywhere.

Ew!Ugh!

And there's no other villain who can beat them,

so we have to start preparing for the worst.

[Osip] Who's that third person?

[Orwell] That's just Bubbly Bob.

He makes bubbles and only gets one vote a year,

probably his own.

Bubbles don't sound bad.

Why don't we help Bubbly Bob win?

We'd have to convince the other villains

that he'd cause the most chaos.

We can do that.We can do that.

[Captain O] The votes are tomorrow.

Let's help Bubbly Bob win!

Yeah!Yes!

[stirring music]

So you want to help me

win Villain of the Year?

Why?

[Osip] Why not you, Bubbly Bob?

You're a great villain.

Also, it would be better for Odd Squad and the town.

But I come last every year,

which is hardly surprising

considering my power--

Bu-bu-bubbles!

[bubbles squelching, gurgling]

Bubbles can cause loads of bother.

You think so?

Yeah! We just need

the other villains to know how much.

Oh, it's easy for Stinky Sock Sue

and Goopy Gus!

They have their amazing videos.

Videos?

Yep, every year,

they make these great videos showing off

how nasty their powers are.

Get ready for your close-up, Bob.

[Osgood] Oh, yeah!

[upbeat music]

[Bubbly Bob] There's only one villain who makes trouble

wherever he goes.

Oh, what a lovely day! Ha!

[Bubbly Bob] At the park...

Bu-bu-bubbles!

-[bubbles popping] -Oh no!

I am slipping! Ahh!

My cake!

[wicked laughter]

Also at the cafe...

Bu-bu-bubbles!

[bubbles popping]

Fizzy milk! Disgusting!

[wicked laughter]

...and at the soccer field.

Bu-bu-bubbles!

[pop]

[bubbles popping]

[crowd roaring]

Mwah ha ha ha!

Vote Bubbly Bob for Villain of the Year!

Let the bubbles cause troubles!

[ding]

-[click] -[music ends]

I'm impressed.

Great!

It's not enough.Oh.

[sign squeaks]

After seeing the video,

nine villains say they'll vote for Stinky Sock Sue,

nine will vote for Goopy Gus,

but three will vote for Bubbly Bob to win!

So Stinky Sock Sue and Goopy Gus

both lost a likely vote to Bubbly Bob.

Good work, agents.

But we must prepare for Bubbly Bob to lose.

Start handing out these pegs.

People can put them on their noses

if Stinky Sock Sue wins.

And if Gus wins,

there are these mops to clean up the goop.

But Bubbly Bob is more popular now

than he was before.

Give us a little more time, please.

All right, you've convinced me.

Yes!Yes!

What are you waiting for? Go!

[bubbles popping]

The video worked, Bob.

Three people are voting for you now.

Oh, wow! Thanks so much, Odd Squad.

Maybe next year, I'll get four votes!

Next year? You can win this year!

How? What do you expect me to do?

Go door to door and convince villains

to support me, one by one?

[bubbles popping]

So, I'm going door to door

to get villains to support me

one by one?

What if I say the wrong thing?

Oh, put in this earpiece.

If you get stuck,

we'll tell you what to say.

[static buzzes]To be honest,

I'm a bit stuck right now.

Start with "hello," then go from there.

Okay, great.

Hey, what was it again?

Hello!Hello.

Great, thanks.

[chuckles] Right.

[doorbell chimes]

Come on, Bob. You can do this.

First up is Dotty Doubloon, Bob.

She puts dots on everything.

Yeah?

Oh, hello.

I'm Bubbly Bob, and I would like to be

Villain of the Year.

Can I count on your vote?

Oh, no. I'll be voting for Stinky Sock Sue.

I dream of my socks stinkin' like hers do.

Okay.

Well, thanks for your time.

[Osip] Don't move, Bob.

We just heard from Orwell that Sue's socks are all white.

None of them are dotty!

One more thing--did you know that Stinky Sock Sue

doesn't own any dotty socks?

No dots?

In fact, they're all white.

That's not a sock! That's a napkin on a foot.

You're a good villain for spotting that, Bob.

I think I'll be voting for you after all.

[both cheering][loud feedback]

[Osip] Sorry!

Ow!

Nice one, Bob. Keep going.

[laughs]

I'll be voting for Goopy Gus for Villain of the Year.

All right, okay.

He's a bold leader, like me.

[Osip] Tell her that if Goopy Gus puts goop all over town,

no one will care about her trifles.

It won't work, Osip.It will.

Villains only care about themselves.

Will you stop talking? I can barely hear myself think.

Excuse me?

No, no, I wasn't talking--Rude!

Mm. You're my kind of villain.

I'll be voting for you.

[Osip] Nice work, Bob!

Next is Mr. Itch.

His powers make people...

eh, you can probably guess.

And my bubbles will annoy the entire town

because aren't well all "itching" for a change?

Oh, I like that.

Bubbly Bob, you got my vote!

Excellent!

Ooh.

[Osip] Great work.

Don't worry, Bob. We'll get you some cream.

How's the contest going, Agent Orwell?

We checked in on the villains again.

[squeaking]

Both Stinky Sock Sue and Goopy Gus

lost two supporters, so they have seven votes each.

Well, Bubbly Bob gained the four supporters they lost,

so he has seven likely votes as well!

Portholes and popcorn!

They all have the same amount of supporters!

That's terrific.It's terrible!

If they all have the same number of votes,

then all three of them will be getting

a menacing megabooster.

Then there's only one thing for it--

grab those pegs and mops.

[upbeat music]

Take a mop.One for you.

Here you go.

Osip, Osgood,

why the frowns?

I think I'm gonna do okay.

You're gonna tie with Sue and Gus.

But we really needed you to win on your own.

One more vote would have done it.

Oh, I'm sorry.

Guess you were up against the best of villains.

Yep. And that's why I vote for Stinky Sock Sue every year!

See ya.

Wait!

You vote for Stinky Sock Sue?

[Osgood] You don't vote for yourself?

But what about when you only had one vote on the chart?

Whose vote was that?Oh, that's my mom.

She's a villain too.

She votes for me to win every year.

[Osip] Bob! If you vote for yourself, you'll win

and get to use the menacing megabooster alone.

[Osgood] It'll be your time to shine.

You're right!

I am going to vote for myself!

Yes!

It is me I'm voting for, isn't it?

Go and vote, Bob!Go and vote, Bob

I'm going!

Yes!

[bubbles popping]

[crowd cheering]

So Bubbly Bob voted for himself,

which means Sue finished on six votes,

Goopy Gus stayed on seven votes,

but Bubble Bob got eight votes!

He's the Villain of the Year!

[all] Yes!

Nice work.

You saved the town from stinky socks

and floods of goop.

And Bubbly Bob sent us all a gift

of some bubble tea as a thank you.

Remember, he's still a villain.

So whatever you do...[slurp]

don't drink it.

Huh? Too late!

[bubbles popping]Whoa!

[slam]A little help, please, guys!

Orwell!

We've got a problem!

Orli, how's the weightless suitcase working out?

It's a lot lighter than we would like.

Remember those abandoned huggle eggs we found?

Of course I remember.

I'm looking at them right now.

I've even knitted them hats!

[eggs chirping]

[gasps]

the huggle eggs to return.Uh-huh.

and we don't have anything to give her!

Please hurry, Onom.Please hurry, Onom.

[upbeat music]

[Onom] Fifteen eggs--perfect!

[logo swishes]

Hey, Onit, I need to get straight over

to Ozzie and Orli; it's an emergency.

Of course. What's in the suitcase?

Fifteen huggle eggs.Sorry, Onom.

But you can't transport eggs in the tubes.

But they're not heavy. They're only one pound each.

The weight doesn't matter.

Page , section , paragraph

of the Tube Transportation Manual--

But how do I get the eggs to Ozzie and Orli?

They're counting on me.

I'm sure the Odd Squad Airline would love to help.

Excuse me.

Welcome to Odd Air.

I'm Agent Ockpit, and I'm here to help.

I need to get these eggs to Ozzie and Orli.

It's an emergency.

Of course, I can put you on the next flight.

Just place your suitcase on the weighing scale.

[numbers pinging]

Wow, those eggs weigh pounds.

I have eggs, which weigh one pound each,

and the suitcase is made from my special weightless material,

so, yeah, pounds makes sense.

I'm sorry, but each suitcase

can't weigh more than five pounds.

Airline rules.

Could I separate the eggs into smaller suitcases?

Absolutely. How many do you need?

[gadget whooshing]

I have eggs in total.

Each egg weighs one pound,

and I'm allowed a maximum of five pounds in one suitcase.

That means I can put five eggs in one suitcase,

another five in another suitcase,

and the last five in the third suitcase.

[whirring]

So, I need to swap this large case

for three smaller suitcases.

[Ockpit] Let's have a look.

Your flight leaves in one minute.

Ahhh!

[upbeat music]

[Onom] Five, ten,

fifteen--done it!

[ominous music]

[Orli] Whoa! So that's what a huggle looks like!

[Ozzie] Uh-huh.

Apologies, ma'am! Your eggs are running a little late.

But Agent Onom is on the way.

[growls]

Whoa! Bad breath!

[Ozzie] Quick, behind the rock!

[huggle growls]

We need to stall the mommy huggle to give Onom more time!

But I need to get to Ozzie and Orli!

The good news is, you'll all get a free rail ticket

to use in your onward journey.

[all cheering]

I've never been on a train before.

Hello, and welcome to Odd Rail.

I'm Agent Ocomotive.

Hold on, you're the weightless suitcase guy.

I can do a quick autograph, but I'm in a bit of a rush.

Not a fan of weightless suitcases, personally.

Okay, fair enough.

I'm transporting some eggs, and--

I don't like eggs,

and I won't be touching them.

Fine.

Well, put them on this weighing scale,

and let's get them out of here.

[dings]

Woah, suitcases on trains cannot weigh more

than three pounds, and that's five pounds.

I guess I'll have to swap the eggs into more suitcases.

[gadget whirs]

I have fifteen eggs in total;

each egg weighs one pound.

So now I'm allowed a maximum of three pounds

in one suitcase.

So, that means I can put three eggs in one suitcase,

four, five suitcases, carrying three eggs each.

Here, all the silly weightless suitcases you need.

Eggs. Yuck.

[upbeat music]

[Onom] Three, six, nine,

twelve, fifteen.

"While huggle seasoning fog is a bad sign,

a really angry huggle will start firing lasers."

[huggle growling]

Lasers!Lasers!

[Odd Squad theme ringing]

Go for Onom.

Onom, where are you?

I've had another delay, but I'm on a train now

and I'll definitely be there soon.

[Ozzie] Train?

Please hurry, there are lasers!

Lasers? Cool.

No, hot. Very hot![beeps]

[conductor] This is your train driver speaking.

Apologies, but this train will not be departing

as there's a thick cloud

of huggle seasoning fog up ahead

and I'm off to hide under the covers!

But the eggs!

The good news is that you'll each be given free bus--

Free bus? Wow.

You didn't let me finish.

You'll be given a free bus ticket

to help with your onward journey.

Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs!

Hello, I'm Agent Opstairs.

Welcome to Odd Buses.

Are you okay? You seem kind of sad.

You'd be sad if you were stuck in here

dealing with people who'd been kicked off trains all day.

I'm really sorry to hear that,

but I'm in a bit of an emergency.

I need to get these eggs to Ozzie and Orli.

That does sound important.

Place your suitcases on the weighing scales, please.

[dings]

Three pounds?

The maximum weight on the bus is two pounds per suitcase.

We've got weightless suitcases

that hold two pounds if you want them.

How many will you need?

[gadget whirs]

I have fifteen eggs in total.

Each egg weighs one pound, and I'm allowed a maximum

of two pounds in one suitcase.

So, that means I can put two eggs in one suitcase,

then another two in another suitcase, and so on.

So, that means I can put fourteen eggs

into seven suitcases.

But, oh--I'll be left with one extra egg.

[gadget whirs down]

Oh, no!Oh, no.

[Odd Squad theme rings]Go for Onom.

Onom, please say you're nearly here.

We've tried everything to stop this huggle.

I'm so sorry. This is all my fault.

I should have given you the eggs in the first place.

I let you down.

Everyone makes mistakes, Onom.

Absolutely! But once they make a mistake,

a good agent will work extra hard to fix it.

Extra?

Extra! That's it!

I can put the last egg into an extra egg suitcase.

It doesn't matter that it's not full.

Great work, Onom.

[lasers pound ground]

Whoa! Watch out!Oh!

Agent Opstairs, I'm going to need eight suitcases

and someone to help me carry them.

called, "So You've Been Eaten by a Huggle."
