Birdman!

Birdman!

Here's the stolen formula, General.

The FEAR agent got away,
but without this.

Once again our country is
indebted to you, Birdman.

If FEAR had gotten this formula,

our entire security would
have been endangered.

The pleasure was mine, General.

Goodbye for now.

This time I'll make sure no
one gets their hands on it.

So, after you succeeded in
stealing the secret formula,

you let Birdman take it away from you.

I'm fortunate I escaped at
all with Birdman guarding it.

I'm tired of excuses.

Get him out of my sight.

Yes, Chief.

Stopped by Birdman again.

But FEAR must have that formula.

The formula is here, gentlemen.

Who are you?

How did you get past our guards
and into FEAR headquarters?

I am Merkle.

I come and go as I please.

My powers are beyond
your understanding.

Give me that formula.

We can make a deal.

There's only one deal
I'm interested in.

I will offer you this
secret defense formula

plus the ultimate defeat of Birdman.

And your price?

My price is the absolute
control of FEAR.

You're out of your mind.
Guards!

I see you must be
taught the hard way.

My own shadows attacking us.

Good work, my shadow sl*ves.

Now cover them.

Unbelievable.

You've made those
shadows come to life.

But how?

This ring's onyx prism ray imparts life
and power to the shadows as I direct.

Look, Merkle.

Maybe we can make a deal after all.

I have already made the deal.

I am assuming command and am
proceeding with my master plan.

Begone.

Distressing news, Birdman.

The secret formula which you
recovered is missing again.

Security is baffled.

They say no one...

I am Merkle, Birdman,

and now I have both Falcon

If you wish to see either again,

meet me at FEAR Castle
on Tohunga Island

and come alone.

If you harm Falcon 7, Merkle.

Birdman!

There's Tohunga Island below, Avenger.

You wait on that mountain
peak until I signal for you.

All right, Merkle, I'm here
and I demand to see Falcon 7.

But of course, Birdman.

Look upward.

There he is, Birdman.

Unfortunately, you won't be
around long enough to save him.

I doubt if even you can withstand 5000
degrees of heat from this flame cannon.

And now for the weapon
that will finish you off.

Your own shadow.

It's like a nightmare
fighting my own shadow.

Its rays are as strong as mine.

He can match you shield for shield,
power for power, Birdman,

for he is a shadow version of
yourself with all your powers.

That blow weakened me.

That shadow has my powers.

Perhaps it has my weaknesses too.

If so, I think I know how to defeat it.

And Merkle.

It's up to you, Avenger.

I'll see you get no sunlight to
recharge your solar powers, Birdman.

A shadow roof.

Faster, Avenger, hurry.

Without sunlight, he's getting
stronger and I'm getting weaker.

Birdman's trapped within
his own solar shield.

Victory is within my grasp.

Who dares interfere?

Are you all right, Birdman?

Nice going, Falcon 7.

I had hoped you'd figure out
that the shadow like myself

could be stunned by
a blow from behind.

Surrender, all of you, or I'll
turn your shadows on you.

Sorry, Merkle.
There are no shadows.

You blocked off the sun yourself.

That can be remedied with one
gesture from my onyx prism ring.

The onyx prism ring, Birdman.
Destroy it.

Sunshine.

The spell of the ring is broken.

Our shadows have returned.

Everything is normal again.

Everything but Merkle.
Look.

He called himself Merkle.

But who was he, Birdman?

I suspect he was the very
spirit of darkness itself.

But how am I going to
put that in my report?

That's your problem, Falcon 7.

Birdman!

Look. A planetoid.

It's heading right toward our planet.

Contacting the Intergalactic Police.

Come in, Galaxy Trio.

Unidentified planetoid rushing
towards Z-11 on collision course.

This is the Galaxy Trio.

Please show us a
picture of this planetoid

on your videoscope transmitter.

I've never seen anything like it.

It keeps changing shape.

Blur speed ahead.
Z-11, next stop.

Look, it stopped.

It's hovering over Z-11.

Let's head right toward the planetoid
and see if there's any life on it.

If I didn't know better,

I'd say the whole thing's made
out of some kind of rubber.

I'm taking this density meter to
check the planetoid's makeup.

Hold it.

Something's coming in
over the videoscope.

Attention, planet Z-11.

I am Plaston,

ruler of the artificial
planetoid, Plastus.

As you see, I can change the form of
Plastus and shut off your sunlight.

Your temperature will drop 200
degrees below zero in a few hours.

No, they'll freeze on Z-11.

We've got to stop him.

Unless the ruling body of Z-11
agrees to my demands within one hour,

I will freeze the entire planet.

Not if we can help it.
To the lason cube.

The whole planetoid is made out
of some sort of rubbery substance.

We'd better watch our step.

This is like nothing
we've ever seen before.

The entire planet's made of
a rubber-silicone compound.

I'll try to find out how deep it is.

No need to check any further.
You are all my prisoners.

You won't take us without a battle.

Spread out!

That rubber would have
hardened around me

if I hadn't turned on
a super-heat vapor.

That's two of them, but I don't know
how long we can hold them off.

Look out, Meteor Man.

Another one's coming from behind.

Seize the third one.

This heat-vapor melts it,

but I can't turn it on too strong
or they may be harmed.

Bring the girl as a hostage.

Can you hear me, Meteor Man?

Yes. How do I get out of here?

There's one thing I haven't tried yet.

Make it fast. This stuff's
getting harder all the time.

Maybe my freeze-vapor

will make the rubber brittle
enough for you to break out.

It worked.
Now, how about yourself?

I think I can get free
by using a heat-vapor.

What now? They've got Gravity Girl.

Let's displace to Condor One and
figure out a plan to get her free.

Roger.

Now, how do we contact Gravity Girl?

I think we've got her.

She's calling us by ring phone.
Listen.

Meteor Man and Vapor Man.
Can you hear me?

We're back in Condor One,
Gravity Girl. Where are you?

I'm in a cell below
Plaston's control tower.

I think I'm on to something.

Go ahead, Gravity Girl.

According to my density meter,

this entire planetoid is
like a gas-filled balloon.

The surface is only 50 feet thick.

I think you could blast a hole in it
with Condor One's retro rockets.

You mean it might go off like a
balloon if we can puncture it?

- Right.
- But what about you?

Maybe you can save me after
you've punctured the surface.

It's Z-11's only chance.

Get ready. We're going down.

You'd better hurry.
Someone's coming up after us.

Quick, Meteor Man.
The protecto shield.

Good going.
Now let's get down there. Fast.

They've brought their ship down.
Use your weapons.

It's now or never. Fire those
retro rockets good and heavy.

Quick, Meteor Man.
Take off. We've done it.

Quick, Vapor Man.
Get Gravity Girl.

Follow me.

This whole planet's
going to go any second.

Let's go. I can feel this place
getting ready to take off itself.

You've done it, Galaxy Trio.

We don't know how,
but you've done it.

The threat to our planet is over.

All in a day's work.

We're glad we can help you.

All in a day's work?

Let's hope we don't have
too many more days like this.

Or that we don't run into too many
more rubber villains like Plaston.

Let's go.

Birdman!

You, the Great Morto,
the mechanical genius,

stuck here in the prison
laundry just like me.

I'm not stuck here
for long, my friend.

I've been fashioning a
little means of escape

with this steam boiler.

Hey, what you doing?

Look out. You blew the place up.

What's going on in there?

Come on out.
No funny business, Morto.

If my calculations are correct,

this should guide me to the
mainland and freedom.

It looks like Morto has succeeded
in flying the coop, Birdman.

He's a real threat to national security.

Let's hope that he and I meet before
he does the country any harm.

It's good to get back in uniform again.

This time, not even
Birdman can defeat me

and these mechanical knights of evil.

Morto rides again.

The country will soon learn once
again to fear Morto the Marauder.

And so, Morto the Marauder
has struck again,

terrorizing the nation and
causing an all-out mobilization.

I have a message for this country.
Step aside, fool.

Listen closely.

The recent incidents are just a
sampling of the powers of Morto.

Unless I am given
control of this country,

I shall unleash an army of
super-mechanical knights

that will devastate
the nation's capital.

I must stop him, Avenger,
and this might do it.

Listen to me, Morto.
This is Birdman.

If you are as powerful
as you claim to be,

I challenge you to
a fight to the finish.

I accept your challenge.

Name the time and place.

Doom Valley.

Tomorrow morning at seven.

A jousting contest to the end.

Winner take all.

And bring no one with you.

Agreed.

One hour to go, Birdman.

Are you sure that the government
shouldn't send troops?

No, we agreed to meet alone.

This is my fight.

Good luck, Birdman.

The country is counting on you.

Birdman!

Doom Valley below, Avenger.

He said come alone.

You had better wait
on that mountaintop.

I see you've come alone.

Good, Birdman.

I've even provided you
with a white horse.

I didn't come here to talk, Morto.

Let's get on with it.

So be it.

You'll find weapons at
your side, Birdman.

Are you ready?

Ready when you are, Morto.

Oh, I forgot to tell you.

Before you and I meet in battle,
you must take on my two horsemen.

Let's see how you do against
their particular powers, Birdman.

I thought there was to
be no one but you and I.

Correct, Birdman.

But these are robot knights.

There's no one in those uniforms.

This time, you won't
be so lucky, Birdman.

All right, Morto.
Now it's just you and I.

Right, Birdman.
And just to make sure...

You're cutting off the sunlight.

Precisely, Birdman.

I'll filter out the solar rays
which give you your energy.

A worthy struggle, Birdman.

But it's all over now.

I must recharge my solar
energy to its full strength.

My only chance is to ground
him again before he recharges.

You've caused enough trouble, Morto.

We've learned our lesson, Birdman.

We'll keep him away from anything

where he can use that evil
mechanical genius of his.

Good, warden.

I'd hate to have to
take Morto on again.

Birdman!

Birdman!
