to stories than actually acting them out.

we could fly right up there.

[gasps] That gives me an idea!

Grab on, Pandy.

[both] Whee!

Gabby! Pandy!

Thank goodness you're here!

Thanks, butterflies.

MerCat, why are you trapped
up here in this tower?

It's King CatRat, actually.

King CatRat, why would you lock
MerCat the Maiden in the tower?

Haven't you ever heard the fairytale
about the king who's afraid of the dark?

Nope. I don't think we know that one.

It's about a king who's kind of a bad guy,

and he is really afraid of the dark.

So he finds a mer-maiden
with a glowing tail

and locks her in the tower

so he'll never have to be
in the dark again.

See? Huh?

And I'm playing the bad king. Ha!

You do play a good bad guy, CatRat.

I know!

Every fairytale needs a bad guy,
and I love playing them.

[jaunty harpsichord music playing]

Who was afraid of the dark ♪

♪ That's how the fairytale starts
But if he didn't use his powers ♪

♪ To put her in the tower
This story would have no spark ♪

♪ Every story needs a bad guy ♪

This reminds me of the story of Rapunzel,

the princess who was stuck up in a tower.

Oh, yeah!

Rapunzel had really long hair,

and she used it to climb down
from the tower window.

Well, say hello to Gabby-punzel.

Wow!

Paw-esome!

Now, that's one slick hairdo.

Who's ready for a little slide time?

I got to try this!

Someone put a hard pea
in the princess's bed,

and no matter how many mattresses
she stacked on top,

she still couldn't get comfortable.

I hid one of these magical peas
in Princess Pillow Cat's bed.

And unless you can find it,

I'm afraid her catnapping days are over.

and you have to figure out
which fairytale I'm talking about.
