01x10 - Wolfboy Follows His Dreams

Post by bunniefuu »

Hello?

Mum?

I've been waiting for you.

I've been waiting a very long time.

But that's all right. You're here now.

You're not Mum. Who are you?

A friend.

A friend who can tell you the truth.

The truth?

About what?

Don't you want to know who you really are?

Floof, what are you doing?

Wolfy?

Where's he going?

Hey, Xandra.

In your shiny face--

Xandra?

Wolfy's gone. I think he's sleepwalking.

I told you.

Well, where is he going?

Well, we should just wake him up and ask him.

Wolfy! Wolfy!

Sorry.

Hooligans.

Now what?

Well, that didn't work.

Nice try though, Floof.

Now, now what?

I don't know. Why don't you come up with a plan?

What if we tickled him?

Why don't you come up with a better plan?

There's no way he'd sleep through a round of…

tickly tendrils.

Where's he gone?

There.

He's going into River Lab.

Oh, no!

Oh, crumbs.

-Come on, Sprout. We can't lose him. -Right!

What? No. Let's not be hasty.

Hey, this is fun!

What is this thing?

It's a riverling.

River sprytes use them to shape the rivers and streams.

Will it eat us?

No, Sprout. It eats mud.

Hey, Xandra?

Where does that cave go?

Don't give up now. I'm waiting for you.

Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no--

Hold on, Sprout.

Not this place again.

Come on, Sprout. Let's find Wolfboy before that old--

-Well, well, well. -Great.

Look who it is.

Excuse me, Mrs. Crab Lady. Did you see where our friend went?

Yeah, I saw him.

He didn't even stop to say hello,

just swam off down there like he owned the place.

Sleep-swimming?

This is serious.

The absolute cheek of it.

Thank you!

I come down here for some peace and quiet, and every time I turn around…

Not much further now.

Wolfboy?

I don't know where we are, but this place creeps me out.

It creeps you out? I'm supposed to get creeped out.

Great. Now I'm even more creeped out because you're creeped out!

You're getting closer.

Soon all will be revealed.

Wolfy!

Wolfboy!

Professor Luxcraft.

-What is the meaning of this? -He's asleep, sir.

Well, I can see that.

Morning.

Don't you "morning" me, boy. This area's strictly forbidden!

What do you three think you're playing at?

There was a whole to-do, you see.

I woke up and I found out that Wolfboy was out of bed.

Then--

It was an accident, sir.

We-- We just…

got a bit lost.

A little bit lost? I'd say you got a big bit lost.

And this is no place for getting lost, little or big.

Why? Where are we?

Well, somewhere.

But-- Somewhere unimportant. Forbidden, but unimportant.

Hey, Professor, where does that go to?

Never mind that. You should all be asleep.

You're right, sir. We should be asleep.

And laying low.

Exactly. And laying low.

Do you know how we might get back to our dorm?

So we can sleep. And lay low.

Squint will show you the way.

But you must never come back here.

Do you understand me? It's too…

unimportant.

-But-- -Come on. Let's go and lay low.

And you think the voice was leading you to that creepy passage?

Where do you think it goes?

I don't know. But Luxcraft obviously doesn't want me to find out.

He's hiding something. I just know it.

I think maybe whoever that voice belongs to can tell me what it is.

I don't think we should be trusting strange voices in dreams, Wolfy.

Yeah. And if Luxcraft finds you back near that passage, he's not going to be happy.

We're already on thin ice. What if he sends you home?

Maybe you're right. But what if I have the same dream again?

Perhaps you need a new dream.

Hey, Oneira. Didn't see you there.

Are you having bad dreams?

Yeah. Kinda.

We should go to the Dream Lab and get you a new dream.

Great idea. We'll go first thing in the morning.

And until then, no more sleepwalking on my watch.

So, how long's this gonna take?

Not long.

But it depends what kind of dream he wants.

I get to choose? That's awesome.

Hey, we should all get new dreams.

No, thank you. I'm perfectly happy with the dream I have now.

-The leaf dream? -The leaf dream.

-What's the leaf dream? -You'd love it, Wolfy.

Okay, well, it starts off, and I'm a leaf.

I'm just hanging around, being leaf.

But then comes a gust of wind!

And I'm like, "Oh, no! What do I do?"

And I hang on tight, then the gust of wind dies down.

And I'm safe.

Now I'm back to being a leaf, just hanging out. But then--

That sounds pretty cool.

But might be a bit too leafy for my tastes.

It's a shame Blip didn't wanna come.

Blip doesn't like the Dream Lab.

He says it's too unpredictable.

But I think you'll love it, Wolfy.

-Excuse me. -Coming through.

-Look out! -Goodness.

-Give me a hand here. -Okay, everyone, on three.

One, two...

Could you pass me that? Thank you.

Cool! What are these little things?

Those are the dreams.

The ones here are waiting to be shipped up to the humans.

Just wait till you see them in the wild.

In the wild?

Whoopsies.

Oh, no, no, no!

-Over there! -Oh, no!

-Get it! Help! -It's over here!

-All right, everyone. -Look out!

Tallyho!

Blow me down and call me a turnip twister.

Is that little Oneira?

Welcome home, Oni.

Welcome home?

And what have we here?

A ragtag band of chums?

And with a whiff of adventure between their teeth, I'll bet.

Yes. Looks like an expedition in waiting if ever I saw one.

And I've seen a few.

Captain Amelia Springhaart.

My friends call me Millie, and my enemies dare not speak my name.

I like her.

Come on, then. Let's get you inside.

So, what brings you back, Oni?

Well, Wolfy here is having bad dreams.

I thought you might be able to find him a new one.

Bad dreams? That won't do at all.

It's not a bad dream, exactly.

It's just… following it was getting me into trouble.

Don't worry, Wulfo. We'll get you sorted out, all right.

Just leave it to me.

Now, first things first.

If we're going on an adventure,

no lounging around here like a bunch of lizards.

Let's get this expedition started.

We'll get you a new dream in no time,

or my name's not Millie Springhaart.

Isn't it wonderful, Wolfy?

I haven't been home in ages.

Hey, why does Oneira keep calling this place home?

You didn't know? Oneira grew up here.

She was practically raised by dreams.

Raised by dreams?

Wulfo, front and center.

These creatures are all dreams?

Wild dreams.

Aren't they beautiful?

They really are.

Now then, Wulfo, any particular sort of dream you're after?

-You seem the adventurous type. -Thanks.

-Scared of heights? -Nope.

Fond of mallards?

I guess.

Do you like the color yellow?

Yes.

Yes. I think we're looking for something a little out of the ordinary. Aren't we?

Perhaps you should choose.

-What about this one? -That one?

You are the adventurous type.

And I do love a challenge.

All right, Wulfo. You're on.

This particular dream is found closer to the boundary.

But something tells me you don't mind a bit of danger. Onward!

Hey, what's this boundary Springhaart's talking about?

Is it dangerous?

Oh, no. Not really. The disarrays tend to stay on their side.

Disarrays?

The Dreamscape sits on the border of our realm…

and theirs.

The closer we get to the disarray side, the more unstable things become.

It can be a bit confusing finding your way there.

But it's where the most interesting dreams are found.

What happens on the other side of the boundary?

Dreams that cross the border become nightmares.

Nightmares?

Oh, yes. Disarrays catch nightmares. Just like we catch dreams.

Stick close now. We're getting closer to the boundary.

I don't know why you couldn't have chosen a nice, tame dream, Wolfy.

Hey. Hey! There's someone--

I've been waiting for you.

Did anyone else hear that?

Steady, Wulfo.

This far out, everything becomes a little more unpredictable,

and not everything is as it seems.

Wait. I see something else.

Disarrays. What are they doing on this side of the boundary?

It looks like they're stalking a nightmare.

A nightmare?

It'll be okay. Just don't make a sound.

Nightmare!

Look alive, everyone!

Tallyho!

Thanks.

Where's Wolfboy?

Wulfo? Wulfo?

You won't find any answers back there.

Wulfo?

Wulfo?

I have so much to tell you.

Who are you?

If this boy is who I think he is…

Professor Luxcraft?

…I'll make sure he never knows what he's truly capable of.

What is it? What won't you show me?

I'll tell you when you're ready.

I deserve to know what's going on!

Not until you're ready!

-Excaliboom? -He thinks he's special.

Excaliboom!

Did you hear? He thinks he's special.

You're nothing. You're nobody.

Poor boy.

You have a lot on your mind.

Don't be afraid, child.

Who are you?

My name is Nyx.

Nyx?

Wait. I know about you.

You k*lled Xandra's parents.

You shouldn't believe everything you hear.

They're lying to you, human.

But you already knew that.

-My friends would never-- -But we're not talking about your friends,

are we?

I know who you are.

I know what you're truly capable of.

You're going to change the world, William.

How do you know my name?

I know more than you might think.

There he is!

Come find me when you're ready.

No, wait!

Are you okay? What happened?

I…

I'm not sure.

Yeah, this place is like that sometimes.

All you need to do is pop this on your head

before you go to sleep.

Then I'll have a brand-new dream?

And I'll forget all about that mysterious passage.

You don't want a new dream, do you?

I understand.

Our dreams are special.

I think my dreams know more about me than anyone else.

Wolfy?

Wolfy.
