Japanese tanks paraded carrying ashes of the dead.

Thousands of civilians, Chinese, Malays and Indians...

...were rounded up and ex*cuted on Changi's beaches.

Executions of British and Australian officers...

...also took place in Changi.

Many victims were beheaded.

It is rumoured that not only did many
Japanese soldiers die in the hospital...

...but the Japanese brutally tortured and
k*lled many prisoners-of-w*r there as well.

The occupation lasted three-and-a-half years...

...until the end of World w*r Two in 1945.

A few years after the w*r...

...the military barracks were converted to
the original Changi Hospital for the public.

Rumours of ghosts and hauntings persisted...

...with some believing it was better to suffer injuries...

...than to enter the cursed buildings of the hospital.

Old Changi Hospital officially closed in February 1997.

The buildings have been left vacant ever since.

Targeted only by vandals and legend trippers...
