NARRATOR: Every state has its folklore, tall tales and legends, but sometimes there is a darker story, a tale not so much told as whispered.

[TRAIN HORN BLARING IN THE DISTANCE]

[FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING]

[FLOORBOARD CREAKING]

[TRAIN HORN BLARES CLOSER]

[HANNAH SCREAMS]

[GRUNTING]

[HORN BLARING]

[GASPS]

[PHONE BUZZING]

Hannah Stolsfiss - - I'm I'm sorry.

Can you speak up? I'm looking for Hannah Sullivan.

Uh Sorry, no.

T This is.

MAN: [SIGHS]

Thank God.

Okay, I know you don't do fieldwork, but you're the only engineer to answer.

Who is this? BLAKE: It's Blake Bendtner.

I'm with the power department.

I work in maintenance with your boss.

- You know what time it is? - BLAKE: 12:17 a.

m.

Grab your gear and two Red Bulls.

We got an emergency.

[LADDER CREAKING]

[TRAIN HORN BLARING FAR AWAY]

[BLARING LOUDER]

AUTOMATED VOICE: Take 140th Avenue to Banwell Bridge.

[BRAKES SCREECH]

Rerouting.

[GEAR SHIFTS]

BLAKE: Hey! Over here.

I needed you, like, yesterday.

The hell have you been? - Got lost.

- You get the Red Bull? You have no idea how much taurine I have to ingest to keep this motor running.

Found some in my fridge.

No, it's birkin brand.

[OPENS CAN]

[WINDMILL CREAKING LOUDLY]

[SLURPS LOUDLY]

Ah! Uh I should tell you, I I I have never worked on one of these rigs before.

BLAKE: Well, today is your lucky day.

It's gonna be a long night.

- What about backup in Des Moines? - They are two hours out.

We're up to our ankles in sh*t crick here.

The longer we stand here chit chatting about it, further we drift down sh*t river towards sh*t falls.

- So we got comm problems? - We got three issues.

First, is all communications are down, we got no anemometer data, no wind speed readings, okay? Two, we got a yaw here, the blades are out of alignment.

That means if that sucker gets hit with the right gust of wind You ever seen one of those YouTube compilation videos on turbine fails? - No.

- Well, I have.

They got one, looks like somebody chucked an M18 into a ceiling fan.

What's issue three? 'Bout half an hour, megastorm hits.

A local meteorologist is predicting 20 to 30 mile per hour winds, but he's always wrong, so I'm guessing 40.

We're gonna be rocking and rolling up there like a cocaine fueled carnival cruise line and that's if we're lucky.

- Okay.

- All right, so all you gotta do is just basically fix everything.

Okay? I'll get you up there.

Wait.

Where is the malfunction? Where do you think it is? Top of the world.
