AJ and I are sailing the seas

with the greatest pirate in the whole world,

our friend Pegwheel.

- Welcome aboard, mateys.

[laughter]

- Whoa. Check out all those pirates.

- Yo-h*! Yo-h*, h*!

- Looks like they're headed to that island.

- Pirates? Island?

Come on, mateys. Let's go have a look-see.

- All right!

- Whoa. - Ahoy.

- [laughs] - Whoa!

- Nice to see ya.

- It looks like all the pirates are here

for some kind of pirate race!

- Ahoy, Monster Machines!

Get ready for the most pi-radical race

on the seven seas.

It's the Pirate Grand Prix!

To win, pirate racers will have to speed through

a shipwreck canyon,

sail across a blue lagoon,

and fly a hot air balloon to the top of Pirate's Peak!

And whoever gets there first

will win the "Arr-mazing" Treasure Trophy!

- A Treasure Trophy? Oh-h*-h*!

'Tis the most beautiful treasure I've ever seen!

- Hey, Pegwheel, I've got an idea.

Why don't you join the Pirate Grand Prix, too?

- Yeah, then you could win the Treasure Trophy.

- Shiver me timbers.

I've never been in a race before.

- That's OK, Pegwheel.

AJ and I can race with you.

- Yeah, we can be...

both: Pirate racers!

- Yo-h*-h*! We all be pirates now!

- We sure arr! [laughter]

Let's get to that starting line.

I'll stop them with a super-sneaky pirate cheat.

[robo-crabs snickering]

He-he-he! Go on, robo-crabs.

Snap to it!

[laughs]

- You mateys didn't tell me racing could be so much fun.

Why, I'm having me best day ever.

- Pegwheel, look out!

- [shouts]

Shiver me timbers! Thar be a giant robo-crab!

- [sinister laughter]

- Oh, man. To win this race, we've got to find some way

to make ourselves go really high and get over the crabs.

- Yeah, we need something that gives us enough altitude.

- Altitude? Tell me more.

- Check it out.

Altitude is how high something is in the air.

Right now, Blaze and Pegwheel are on the beach.

But if they ride off those shipwrecks,

it could launch them with enough altitude

to go over the robo-crabs.

- Well, what are we waiting for, me hearties?

Let's try it. - Let's see.

If we ride off the purple ship,

we'll jump to this altitude.

And if we ride off the green ship,

we'll jump to this altitude.

Which one will get us over the robo-crab?

The purple or green?

Purple, yeah!

That will give us enough altitude

to go over the robo-crab.

- Yo-h*-h*, here we go.

[cheering]

Altitude be fun.

- [sinister laughter]

- Look, another robo-crab.

And this one's even bigger.

- Quick. Let's use one of those shipwrecks to jump over it.

If we jump off the blue ship, we'll have this altitude.

If we jump off the orange ship, we'll have this altitude.

Which one will get us over the robo-crab?

The orange ship. Yeah!

[cheering]

- Wee! - Yeah!

- Huzzah for altitude!

- Look, there's just one more robo-crab.

- [sinister laughter] - Yarr!

But that be the biggest crabby yet!

- If we jump off the yellow ship,

we'll have this altitude.

to the bottom of the Blue Lagoon.

[snickering]

How are we going to get across the Blue Lagoon

without a boat?

- Fear not, mateys.

Pegwheel knows someone we can call for help.

[plays jaunty flute tune]

- Whoa! - Look, a giant whale!

- Blaze, AJ, I want you to meet me best whale pal, Whalinda!

- Hi, Whalinda. - Nice to meet you.

- Ooh-hoo!

- Whalinda can give us a ride across

this here Blue Lagoon.

But she's gonna need a lot of energy

for such a big journey.

- Woo-hoo!

- Hey, I've got something that can give Whalinda energy,

snacks from my picnic basket.

- Shiver me timbers. That's perfect!

- Woo-hoo-hoo!

- Now we just need to figure out

which snacks Whalinda likes to eat.

- Shiver me timbers.

Those grapes be the only snack foods we've got left.

- Let's see. Does Whalinda like grapes?

Yeah! the grapes are on the green circle.

That means Whalinda loves grapes.

- Happy snacking, Whalinda.

- Mmm!

- Yeah, full speed ahead!

and the Treasure Trophy is all mine.

- Now, that sounds like something to sing about.

[snickers]

Except maybe those sky sharks!

[balloon pops, wheezes]

Now we'll never win the Pirate Grand Prix.

[cries]

- Aww, don't give up, Pegwheel.

- Yeah, we can still get to the finish line.

We just need a new vehicle to fly us there.

We need pirate planes.

- Yarr!

I like the sound of that.

- Come on. Let's get building.

To make pirate planes,

the first things we need are the propellers

to push us through the air.

To give us propellers, say, "propellers."

- Ooh, what do you say now we make some wings?

- Yeah, wings can give our planes lift so they'll fly.

To make the wings, say, "wings."

both: Wings!

- Now all we need are the tails.

Tails let planes move up and down in the sky

to change their altitude.

- Aye, we be pirate plane...

To get past all those sky sharks,

we'll be needing to fly super high.

we need to increase our altitude all the way to .
