02x02 - Root Beer All Around

Post by bunniefuu »

[Sally] "Better Feathers."

[squeaking]

It's a beautiful day
for bird-watching, sir.

I don't see any birds, Marcie.

[chatters]

Maybe they all went for lunch.

[screeches]

Wanna sh**t some hoops?

Just wait. They'll be here soon.

[chattering]

[screeches]

I think you're really going
to like bird-watching, sir.

Hmm.

I like it because
each bird is so different.

If you were a bird,
what kind would you be?

I don't know. Something colorful.

- Maybe like that one.
- [whistling]

[Marcie] Good choice, sir.
That's a blue jay.

- [whistling]
- [Woodstock squeaks]

[Marcie] You can tell
by the vivid blue feathers.

I could be a blue jay.
I look good in blue.

[whistling weakly]

[blowing tunelessly]

[whistling]

Ohhh.

Aah.

[squawks]

[grunts]

[groans] Hmm.

[record scratches]

[sighs]

Huh?

[chatters]

[chattering]

[whistles weakly]

[chattering]

[sighs]

Hmm.

[squeaks]

[chatters]

[humming melody]

Look at that little fella.

What does your bird book say about him?

Let's see.

I think it may be
a rare Swiss mountain bird.

It'd be neat
to have a big feather like that.

[Woodstock] Hmph.

[chatters, squawks]

[screeching]

[screeching loudly]

[laughing]

[screeches, stops]

[sighs]

- [Woodstock chatters]
- Oh.

Aha!

Ooh.

[exclaims]

[chatters]

Oh! There's another one.

What does your book say
about pink feathers?

I think it's either a pink feathered
nightingale or a very short flamingo.

[whistling]

[screeching]

[chattering]

[screeching]

[laughing]

[humming]

[screeches, stops]

[grunting]

Hmm?

Hmm?

[exclaims]

[chatters]

[exclaims]

[humming melody]

[birds exclaiming]

Do you ever wonder what kind
of bird you'd like to be, Marcie?

All the time, sir.

[imitates kookaburra cackling]

That's a laughing kookaburra.

They're known for their distinctive
laughing call, and they're very popular.

[humming melody]

Not as popular as that one.
Now that's a flashy bird.

[bird squeaks]

- [bird chatters]
- [shutter clicks]

[chattering]

[shutter clicks]

[shutters clicking]

[chattering]

[laughs]

[chattering]

[birds chattering]

- [shutters clicking]
- [chattering continues]

[screeching]

[birds chattering]

[Woodstock panting]

[birds chattering]

[sighs]

[shutter clicks]

[screeches]

[sighs] Ah.

What a perfect day to relax
and enjoy the gift of nature.

[Woodstock panting]

- [sighs]
- [shutters clicking]

- [birds chattering]
- [shouts]

Huh.
Nature isn't as relaxing as I thought.

Hmm?

[gasps] Shh.

- [chattering]
- Shh.

[shutters clicking]

- [screeches]
- [birds chattering]

[birds chattering]

[chattering]

Mm-mmm.

- [chattering continues]
- Mm-mmm.

[faucet turns off]

[squeaks]

[birds chattering]

[exclaims]

Whoo-hoo! [hums]

Hey. Up in the tree.

Look at that pretty yellow bird.

[Peppermint Patty]
That's my favorite so far.

Simple, but full of personality.

And as I always say, Marcie,

personality goes a long way.

True, sir. Very true.

[imitates kookaburra cackling]

[chuckles] Actually, that is pretty funny.

[both laughing]

[humming melody]

[Sally] "Blanket Blues."

Okay, Linus.

I want you to go out there
and get a home run.

Will do, Charlie Brown.

Only my brother would bring a blanket
to a baseball game.

It makes him a better hitter.

The faster he runs around the bases,
the faster he gets back to his blanket.

- I'd like to see that.
- [bat cracks]

Nice hit. Run, Linus!

A home run!

- [child] Yeah! Whoo-hoo!
- Way to go, Linus!

- See?
- Oh, brother!

I can't believe Miss Othmar lets you
bring your blanket to school.

It's a visual aid.

We're currently studying
the great ships of Europe.

Land h*!

What a blockhead.

I got us popcorn to share.

But I hold the box. Help yourself.

[straining]

No fair! I can't reach!

Ahem.

[sighs]

[chuckles]

We're washing that blanket
when we get home.

That movie was amazing.

The hero lived in a cave all by himself,
without even a TV.

That's because he was a lone wolf.

[howls]

I bet you could do that.

- Me too.
- You? Ha!

You couldn't even be away
from your blanket for one day.

I could so.

- Prove it!
- Okay.

Starting right now.

My brother, the lone wolf. [howls]

[scoffs] We'll see about that.

[shudders]

I knew it!

You couldn't even last five seconds.

It's just that the bench has slivers.

What about the soft grass?

Too many bugs.

There's no shame in accepting defeat.

Hmm.

This lone wolf will not be defeated.

Here, Snoopy. Take my blanket.

- But take good care of it.
- Oh!

Remember, it doesn't like direct sun,

and if you wash it, no starch.

Tumble dry on low!

Ah.

[giggles]

- [yelps]
- [both shouting]

[giggles]

[wind whistling]

Hmph.

[chattering]

[Charlie Brown] Snoopy, supper time!

[smacks lips]

[giggles] Ah.

[giggles, chattering]

I'm fine, I'm fine.

I'm sure Snoopy is taking good care
of my blanket.

You gave Snoopy your blanket?

What were you thinking?

I thought I could be
like that hero in the movie,

not needing anyone or anything.

A lone wolf. [howls]

But I can't do it.
I'm no hero. I'm no wolf.

I can't live in a cave without a TV!

[shouting]

[grunts]

How's it going, Linus?
You look a little stressed.

I'm terrific.

I'm not missing the soft,
comforting presence of my blanket at all.

Uh, good for you.

Snoopy! Where's my blanket?

Hmm.

Aha!

You gave my blanket to a bird?

Well, where is it?

[chatters]

I knew it! My blanket is lost!

Adrift without
a comforting hand to hold it.

Why was I so trusting? [moans]

Hmm.

[gasps] Aha!

Is that where you put it?

Inside the bush for safekeeping?

Hmm.

Ah!

Hmm.

Ah, you put it in the tree to keep it
away from harm. Good idea.

[straining]

I can't see it from here.

[Woodstock] Aha! [chattering]

Hey, wait for me!

Hmm.

Oh, now I understand.

You buried it like pirate treasure,
so no one but us could find it.

[Linus grunting]

I don't see it.

Are you sure you buried it down here?

- I... [grunts]
- Aha!

Guys? Hello?

[birds laughing]

Hmm.

I wonder if this is what it's like
to live in a cave.

It seemed more fun in the movie.

[howls]

[gasps] My blanket!

[birds straining]

[grunts]

You saved me.

Never leave me again, old friend.

[Snoopy grumbles]

[chuckling]

Ha!

I knew you couldn't last one day.

Some lone wolf you are.

Lone wolves are overrated.
I much prefer to be part of a pack.

Come on, guys. Lemonade at my house.

- [howls]
- [howling]

Wait for me!

[howls]

[humming melody, pants]

[Sally] "Once Upon a Cloud."

[both snoring]

[sighs] Aren't clouds beautiful?

They look like big,
fluffy ba*ls of cotton candy.

Scientifically speaking,

clouds are mostly
ice particles and dust, sir.

That one looks like the boiler
of the famous steam engine,

the Flying Scotsman.

What do you see, Linus?

Hmm.

That cloud has the mastery of form, light,
and shadow of a Rodin sculpture.

Perhaps an early study of The Thinker.

What do you see, Charlie Brown?

Well, I was gonna say a rock,
but I changed my mind.

I don't see anything. They're just clouds.

Just use your imagination.

Over there.

That cloud looks just like
an ice cream cone.

Great. I don't see it, and now I'm hungry.

Hey, now that ice cream kinda looks
like a dog bone.

[Lucy] You're right.
It does look like a dog bone.

Ooh.

[machinery cranks]

[engine revs]

[smacks lips]

[gasps]

[exclaims]

[bird chattering]

- [screams]
- Mm-hmm.

Hey, see those swirly-whirly clouds
over there?

They're called stratocumulus.

They look just like ocean waves.

[both] Hmm?

[mimicking pirate growl]

[chatters]

[both exclaim]

Hmm?

You mean over there?

Those are birds, Sally.

[birds humming melody]

How come no one is asking me
what I see when I look at the clouds?

Uh, what do you see?

Shark!

A great big shark with great big teeth.

[shouts, chattering]

[chattering, screeches]

- [Snoopy straining]
- [Woodstock squeaking]

[water lapping]

[growling]

[yelps, grunts]

[engine revving]

[chomping]

[both laugh]

- [growls]
- [screeches]

Look, it's not a shark anymore.

It's a desert island.

[shouts]

[birds warbling]

[Woodstock groans]

Ah.

[plays tropical melody]

[laughs]

[sniffing]

[gasps]

That cloud's looking awfully tall now.

You know what that means.

It's not a desert island. It's a...

[all] Volcano!

- [straining]
- [distant rumbling]

- [chattering]
- [Woodstock chattering]

- [grumbles]
- [squeaks]

[rumbling increases]

[shrieks]

[grunts]

[blows raspberry]

[wind whistling]

[shrieking]

- [grunts]
- [engine revs]

Mmm.

Ugh, that's it! I give up.

We've been out here all afternoon,
and I haven't seen any...

Wait! Up there. I see something.

I finally see something!

[wind whistling]

[gasps] It's a ferocious dinosaur.

- Oh, yeah.
- I see it too.

Would you look at that.

- [dinosaur roars]
- [squeaks]

[growling]

[squeaks]

[wails]

[gasps]

[sobbing]

Hmm.

You know, I think it looks more
like a horsey now.

- [Snoopy straining]
- [horse whinnying]

[straining continues]

[chatters]

[horse blusters]

- [Snoopy] Yee-haw!
- [horse whinnies]

Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

Huh?

[screams]

[gasps, squeaks]

[Woodstock straining]

[screams]

That was a lot of fun.

We should do it again sometime.

- Yeah.
- Definitely.

Who knew clouds could
tell such riveting stories?

You look a little frazzled, Snoopy.

You ought to try looking up at the clouds.

It's very relaxing.

[both shudder]

[jazz music playing]
