01x09 - Big Time Beagle

Post by bunniefuu »

[Peppermint Patty] "Beagle to the Rescue."

Hmm.

What's he supposed to be?

He's the captain of the Rescue Squad.

That's their official guide he's reading.

[Rerun] Help!

Ship in need of a daring rescue!

Help!

[Rerun groans]

Yay! It's the captain of the Rescue Squad,
here to save the day.

[exclaims]

[shivers]

As rescues go, that wasn't exactly daring.

I suspect
he just likes playing that bugle.

Pretty neat, right?

Seems very aerodynamic, sir.

Prepare for takeoff. [grunts]

Rats!

How are we gonna get it back now?

[bugle calls]

[rattling]

[rattling continues]

Hey!

On the plus side,
you got your soccer ball back.

[door opens]

Oh, boy! Blueberry muffins!

[sniffs] My favorite.

They're still a little hot
from the oven, Sally.

Better let them cool down
so you don't burn your tongue.

[bugle calls]

Good grief.

What did you do that for?

Who wants a soggy muffin?

No one, that's who.

I don't think you really understand

what being captain of the Rescue Squad
is all about.

Being a Rescue Squad captain
isn't about the glory

or playing dress-up with your friends.

It's about actually helping people.

Hmm.

Help! Somebody help!

The cat next door is stuck in a tree!

[gasps]

[cat yowls]

[cat yowls]

[cat yowls]

[gulps]

Snoopy, this is your chance
to be a real-life Rescue Squad captain.

Mm-mmm.

[grunts]

According to page 34, paragraph three
of the official Rescue Squad guide,

it is your sworn duty as captain
to rescue cats from trees.

Meh.

The guide also says
if you perform enough rescues,

you get a special badge of merit.

[grunts]

Never underestimate the pride
of your average rescue beagle.

Or his love of badges.

[birds chattering]

[whistles]

- [cat yowls]
- [birds whimper]

[sighs]

[breathes deeply]

[angry chattering]

[cat yowls]

[groans]

[cat hisses, yowls]

- [cat yowls]
- [panting]

Come on, Snoopy.
This is no time to give up.

You can do it.

Hang in there, Snoopy.

[murmurs]

[straining]

[chirping]

[grunting, groaning]

[chuckles]

I'm sure those kites
must be someone else's.

[chatters]

[squeaking]

[squeaking]

Looks like this could take a while.

[cat yowls]

- [cat yowls]
- [screams]

- [screams]
- [birds scream]

[Woodstock grumbles]

- [birds exclaiming]
- [Snoopy grunts]

Remember the badge, Snoopy.

[Snoopy grumbles]

[grumbles]

[grunting]

[whistles]

[cat growls, hisses]

- [cat yowling]
- [banging]

[grunts]

- [whimpers]
- Come on, Snoopy.

Let's go home.

I think you need a rest
from all the rescuing.

[grumbles, exclaims]

I'll say this about Snoopy...

[grumbles]

- He sure is determined.
- [cat yowls]

- [grunts]
- [cat yowling]

- [all] He did it!
- [cat yowling]

You really are a hero.

- Now I'll return this cat to its owner.
- [grumbles]

[Linus] How does it feel
to be a real Rescue Squad captain?

For what it's worth, I'm proud of you.

- [bugle plays weakly]
- [whimpers]

Help!

I accidentally let the cat out, and it ran
under the porch, and now it's stuck.

Somebody needs to
crawl under there and get it.

- [cracking]
- [groans]

[grunts]

Hurry up, Charlie Brown.
There's no time to lose.

Wait. I'm not sure I'm ready
for that kind of responsibility.

[blows]

[playing jazz]

Yep. He really likes playing that bugle.

[twittering]

[chirps, grunts]

[Peppermint Patty] "Surf's Up, Snoopy."

[squeaks]

[panting]

I think I need bigger lungs.

How do you like my sandcastle, Lucy?

It's not very realistic.

No one could ever live
in a castle like that.

[jeering]

[droning adult chatter]

No, ma'am.

I'm not going in the water yet.

I just like being prepared.

I even brought this appropriately-themed
novelty cup full of fluids,

so I can ensure I stay properly hydrated.

[sighs] H2O.

Sally, have you seen my beach ball?

It just left for Hawaii.

Snoopy, if you're going surfing,
I don't want you going out too far.

And no riding the big waves,
only the small ones.

Surf's up!

[cheers]

And no carving the A-frames
or hanging ten.

And no hotdogging,
if you'll pardon the expression.

Whoo-hoo!

Cowabunga!

[chatter]

[cheers]

Looking good, Snoopy.

- [squeaking]
- [grunts]

[cheers]

[chattering]

[cheering]

Say, Snoopy's doing all right out there.

I can't bear to look.

[shouts]

[exclaiming]

- [shouts]
- Hmm?

[gasps]

- [shouts, screaming]
- [squeaking]

Can I look now?

I wouldn't, Charlie Brown.

Snoopy's about to...

Wipe out!

[screaming]

[straining]

Huh?

Ooh.

Ahhh.

[yells]

[groaning]

[laughs]

[sighs]

[chortles]

[sighs]

Snoopy! Over here!

You can swim back if you want!

He can probably walk back.

What a goofball.

Has anyone seen
my pineapple-themed novelty cup?

[slurping]

At least he's staying hydrated.

Maybe I should go rescue him.

I mean, he is my dog.

I could toss him my safety ring
to help him float back.

Good idea, Marcie.

I knew this would come in handy.

Whoa!

Can I have my ring back, Charles?

[Franklin] Hey, Charlie Brown.

You could try floating this
over to Snoopy.

He could ride it back.

Good idea, Franklin. Thanks.

[snoring]

- [growling]
- [Snoopy gasps]

[footsteps thumping]

[growling]

[both scream]

[footsteps thumping]

[screams]

[yells]

[growling]

[gasps]

- [grunting]
- [growling]

[growling continues]

[yells, grunts]

[grunting]

That took me all morning to blow up.

Sorry, Franklin.

I hate to say it, Charlie Brown, but
maybe Snoopy doesn't want to come home.

He will.

It's almost supper time.

[groans]

[both groaning]

[Snoopy panting]

[squeaks]

[shouts]

[angry chatter]

[groans]

[grunting, grumbles]

[crying]

Why is your dog hugging a rock?

And crying?

Because I don't have a normal dog.

It's time I go rescue him myself.

[whimpers, cries]

[squeals]

It's good to see you too, boy.

But you weren't ever in any danger.

[Lucy] You could've walked back!

I brought you a snack.

It's a little soggy.

[cheers]

Do you wanna go home now?

Hey, Snoopy! Surf's up!

You coming?

[cheers]

I'll never understand that dog.

Yeah!

- Whoo-hoo!
- [cheering]

[twittering]

[grunts, pants]

[Peppermint Patty] "Helicopter Beagle."

[growls]

[growls]

- [yells]
- [grunting]

[chirps, chattering]

[grunting]

[laughing]

[grunts]

[grumbles]

[machine whirring]

[grunting]

[yells]

- [shouts]

[gasps]

[squeaking]

[groaning]

[groans]

[exclaims]

[howls]

[mimics siren wailing]

[siren continues]

Ah!

[murmurs]

[Woodstock squeaks]

[gasps]

[gasps]

[whimpers]

[angry chattering]

[chatters]

[grumbles]

[kisses]

[gasps]

- [yells]
- [screams]

[chuckles]

[chatter]

[exclaims]

[squeaks]

- [bell rings]
- [gasps]

[sighs]

[water running]

[water stops]

[grunts, exclaims]

[growls]

[chuckles]

[screams]

[exclaims]

[bell rings]

Hmm?

[bell ringing]

Ah!

[gags]

Here, birdie birdies.

[helicopter approaching]

[screaming]

That's enough
"Here, birdie birdie" for today.

[sobs]

[Peppermint Patty] What a movie that was!

Action, romance, music, dancing bunnies.

It had it all.

It kind of makes you want to
read the book it was based on.

- Right, sir?
- Not even a little, Marcie.

[chattering]

Mmm.

[murmurs]

Can we get popcorn?

Only if you promise not to talk
during all the important parts.

But the important parts are
when I have the most questions.

This line is awfully long.

You know what they say.

The longer the line, the better the movie.

No one says that.

- Hey!
- Watch it, Snoopy!

- Hey!
- Whoa!

Two kids and one dog
pretending to be a helicopter.

[sighs]

[chomping]

[projector whirs]

[chomps]

[comical music playing]

[squeaks]

Down in front!

I can't see!

[sighs]

[yells]

[grunts, yells]

Snoopy.

You're blocking the screen.

- Ow!
- Watch it!

Hey, watch it.

[Sally] I can't see anything.

[Franklin] I didn't know
this movie was 3D.

[Linus] You made me spill my drink.

[Lucy] No dogs allowed in the theater.

[somber music playing]

[sighs]

Thank you for not talking
during the important parts, Sally.

Now I have even more questions.

[sighs]

- [chirps]
- [sighs]

[grunts]

[sighs]

[snoring]

[screams]

[chortles]

[chortling]

[straining]

[straining]

[squeals]

[straining]

[Snoopy screams]

[Snoopy whimpers]

[panting]

[jazz playing]
