lead art festival I know big everything

is all set up at pencil point say Lilly

are you going oh I'm painting my picture

for the art festival petal painting

what's petal painting you've heard of

finger-painting haven't you Pappy

sure well I don't have any I don't have

petals so I'm petal painting I hope I

finish in time

Wow Lilly what a beautiful landscape I

think you've come up with your Nick

style all of your own how about the rest

of you are you ready for the art

festival sure Sonny I'm just gonna enter

myself as is I'm all framed up and ready

to go then I'll just have to dust you

off a bit grandpappy so you'll make i

handsome portrait hey Sonny don't you

oh my it's boy after 2:00 and time for

me to say hello to the boys and girls

hi buddy yeah what's going on oh hi

Pappy I'm sorry to bother you I'm almost

finished with my painting for the art

festival but I seem to have gotten stuck

maybe you could help me I'll see what I

can do buddy I'm on my way over there

now I'd better take the color copier or

do they Hamlet to see if I can help

buddy then I'll head over to pencil

point for the festival I can't wait to

see all of your artwork there buddy bear

probably just needs a little

encouragement boys and girls he

shouldn't be worried though

there are no judges if this art festival

everyone simply enjoys all the art hmm

we're flying over Toulouse landing and I

think I see turtle ooh and ooh bike down

there I wonder what they're working on

ah yes just a little more mustache you

should do it excellent I have a capture

the serious side of me I think that I

look very dignified Doodlebug would you

mind taking my painting along too I must

get cleaned up before I go boys and

girls let's go in for a landing and see

what we can do to help buddy get ready

for the art festival hmm I hope happy

can give me some advice with a little

no problem buddy what can I do for you

it's my painting look I'm almost done

but I feel like it needs something else

do you have any suggestions why it's a

lovely painting buddy and one of your

favorite subjects I see yeah but

something's missing I think well you

have some nice shadows here and the

colors are lovely buddy Oh buddy look

and look at that nice went down your

honey jar right there oh that's because

the sun is shining through the window

that's it that's what my painting was

missing I'll paint the Sun

shining through the window and it'll add

a warm touch all thanks Pappy they're

all done Thank You papi I can't take the

credit it was your idea buddy and in

fact I better head over to the festival

now I'll see you later okay and that's a

bright sunshiny day and happy land a

perfect day for the pappyland art

festival which is just getting underway

right now the festival will be running

all day long and there's plenty of time

for everyone to visit and enjoy the

variety of art on display from paintings

to drawings and sculptures yeah but the

cabin seems awfully empty without

grandpappy you got me don't you the

cabin will never be empty as long as I'm

here anyhow later on wall go over to the

festival to visit grandpappy there all

right and that is more this picture is

just in it is painted by Buddy bears and

it is entitled jar of honey and it is

quite or did you know and it's

approached and now if you would follow

me this way it is time for the unveiling

of my most prized hi everyone hi my

friends all in good time what you're

about to see is my self-portrait it is

my interpretation of a turtle who is

refined stately and cultured and with

polished manners as mayor Tulum of

course though I'd be honored here we go

such things my painting its downturn I'm

sure there's probably a good explanation

say turtle ooh you didn't get yourself

mixed up with Doodlebug did ya I don't

look a little like total bug in my thing

Doodlebug do you know anything about

this I think you've got some explaining

to do right now so what you're saying

Doodlebug is you actually thought you

were doing something nice for turtle I'm

sorry I don't understand what you don't

appreciate what I did what do you think

boys and girls do you understand why

turtle Lou is upset what's that

someone said that it's because turtle

Lou is painting his own idea and do look

like changed it to suit himself then it

wasn't her lose idea anymore was it I

liked your sculpture Doodlebug but how

would you feel if someone changed it on

you like what if I molded it

to a different shape well it would be a

different sculpture not the one that I

created my kitchen I wouldn't feel very

good about that I think you're getting

the picture

speaking of picture maybe a picture

would help explain things to you

Doodlebug are you ready to draw boys and

girls grow and get your pencils and

paper ready and we'll get started do you

think you can repair your self-portrait

while the girls and boys and I work on

our drawing though I'll give it a try

that's the spirit lo all right let's

begin I'm going to draw two bears lying

on a hill and they're going to be

drawing something I'll start with the

first bear right here in this area and

I'll start by drawing his ear one ear

there now the top of his head and

another ear right there I'll bring this

one down and this line here will be his

forehead and his cheek right there very

good now he's looking down so I'm going

to draw his eyes one there and the other

one right there just put a little curved

line there and a little curved line

there now I'm going to draw his nose

right here you see that now let's bring

this line over and I'm going to draw a

curved line for his cheek right there

already and there's the bottom of his of

his mouth right there now we're going to

draw his arm he's his head is being is

resting on it on his hand and this is

his arm and I'll show you what that

looks like just follow along curved line

there and

yeah those little pause and bring this

line around like that see that that line

and that's one of his arms now let's

draw the back of the bear and we'll put

a curved line there almost like a

semicircle the bottom tummy right here

you see that good

now I straw his other arm and we'll put

a line there right there now he's

holding a crane or a pencil so let's

just put a straight line there a

straight line there and connect it now

it's draws fingers there one there and a

curved line and loop it around just

connect it right there you see that and

we'll just show a little point right

there that's the point of the pencil

ekran good now let's draw a piece of

paper that he's drawing or coloring on

so we'll just put a straight line there

and another one right there

and connect it very good now let's draw

the other bear and I'll start out with

the shape of his head which is a curved

line for his ear like that it's a fuzzy

little hair and another curved line for

his other ear and I'm going to draw the

inside of his ears

that's little curved lines like that a

straight line then a curved line let's

do the same on the other side we'll put

a straight line there and a curved line

and just do the same thing there alright

let's continue on this other bear there

we go that's for head and we'll bring

this around like that and here's his

cheek and we'll bring this line or

and and there is his head now let's draw

his eyes and another circle for his

other eye and we'll put two small

circles like inside those circles now

let's draw an oval for his nose and that

will be his nose alrighty now let's draw

his arm and we'll bring that line out

like that and let's draw some fingers or

looping lines let's draw the back of the

bear and that's just a curved line like

that and we'll gauze tummy right there

let's draw the back leg here he's laying

on his tummy and we'll draw another

curved line for his back like that and

we'll just indicate some straight lines

to show he has some holes and we'll do

the same on the other one one there and

one there like that now let's draw his

other arm he's holding a pencil or a

clan and that's the pencil ekran there

now let's just put a thumb like that and

we'll bring that over and here's the

tummy coming around but it continues

right there you see that now let's draw

his fingers wrapped around the pencil of

the clan one there and another curved

line right there now he has a piece of

paper also so let's draw that piece of

paper it's a straight line like that and

bring it over

connect it very good we'll just put a

little line right there now we have to

draw a cloud in the background so let's

do that now

you can make your cloud any shape you'd

like I'm gonna make it this shape isn't

that fun very nice

there we go now let's just indicate some

grass there on a hill so I'll just do

some quick looping lines like that

they're all finished I like those little

bears Pappy but what are they doing

they're going to draw a picture of what

they see in the clouds well what do they

see Pappy let's find out

picture your your stuff scary monster

hmm we don't see it the same way so what

will we drop huh you can draw with you

see in the cloud that idea so what do

you think but that doesn't mean that you

see it the very same way like that but

the important thing is that you allow

others to express themselves their ways

and when it comes to arts no more and

different the ideas the better hey Lou

I decided that doodlebugs idea of a

smile was a good one I can still be

dignified with a smile on my face

I love the smile oh it looks great man

oh that is beautiful

wow that's really neato whoo let's

celebrate this wonderful artwork with a

hi everyone

the pappyland our festival is going very

smoothly and now anyway

I know you'll have fun when you go and

visit

yeah we didn't want to go until you

color to trim' with the kids

yeah drew it you're holding us up in

that case let's get to it okay I'm going

to choose this color for one of my bears

and I'll begin right here that's a very

nice color and I really love it when you

choose your own colors especially if one

of those colors is one of your favorite

colors in this case I'm using a very

nice bright purple there we go

yeah we'll just continue I'm going to

leave a little highlight right here on

this cheek you see that on his cheek I'm

going to leave a little circle of white

just a spot that I don't color in and

that makes it look very shiny

just

do the ear there we go and now I'll

continue and color in the little bears

arm you know is hand here we go

very nice already hmm

I think I'm going to choose green for

the other bear that's the fun part about

coloring you can choose any color you

like and use your imagination I think a

green bear is comical here we go

I hope you enjoy coloring the bears with

me as much as I enjoy coloring the Bears

very nice they look like they're having

fun reading the stories the boys and

girls send in with their pictures I know

and I love receiving the pictures in the

mail everybody does a wonderful job

you're all such good artists alrighty

now I think I'm going to color in the

cloud the two bears are trying to draw

something as they look at the clouds

they're trying to guess what they see in

those clouds notice I'm not coloring it

all the way in I'm just kind of shading

on the outside that gives the cloud some

shape I remember when I was a little boy

I used to look up at the clouds and

visualize what I could see sometimes I

could see different things one time I

saw a fish the clouds were just like a

giant goldfish

we'll just go ahead him like that

you see that gives it some nice shape

yeah dark so light dark on the edge and

then go lighter now I'll just choose my

green cran which I think would be a nice

color because they're lying in the grass

maybe on a mountaintop or a hill and

they're looking at the beautiful clouds

they create some very interesting shapes

[Music]

when I throw a stone or a pebble in the

water and I see a ripple sometimes the

ripples look like different things too

all right I'm going to color in our

[Music]

little bears nose now are we going I'm

leaving a little highlight right there

let's do the same or the other little

bear like that and I think I'll use red

and maybe he's calling

with that color there that does it hold

up your picture so I can see them

Wow nice work you know what that sound

means it's time to visit the Hall of

frames Wow

I see lots of new paintings and drawings

let's take a look at a few

activity the poison girls might enjoy

with a friend or a family member like

those teddy bears we saw earlier

bring your paper and pencils outdoors

and draw what you see in the clouds you

might not see the same things but that's

okay

that's what makes it interesting okay
