good day Lily say has anybody seen my

umbrella why hello Papy m that's

delicious thank you

why do you need an umbrella Papy were

you afraid you'd get wet from watering

me no Lily we're supposed to get a

thunderstorm in Papy land today so I

thought I'd better be prepared

hey Binky how about a brush up that

would be great Tap thanks a bunch uh Py

some of my friends are a tiny bit afraid

of thunderstorms

isn't that silly

now you wouldn't be afraid of

thunderstorms would you Binky well uh

maybe a tiny bit

it's okay to admit you're afraid of

something Binky sometimes when you talk

about something you're afraid of you're

not so afraid anymore

time for a little dusting up Grand Py

grandappy where are you well I know one

thing Sunny i'm not hanging around for

no thunderstorm i'll tell you that much

there you are are you afraid of

thunderstorms too you don't have to

worry we're all together now uh what me

afraid oh what

yikes what was that it's okay it was

just the door being blown by the wind

where are you i'm under your drawing

table Pap you wouldn't be afraid of

thunder would you what uh uh me uh

afraid no I I was uh looking for my my

blue crayon uh

who turned on the lights help i'm afraid

of the dark

me too somebody turn the lights on quick

don't worry everybody i'll get my

flashlight

hurry up

Elmer it's you how did you get in that

chair so fast okay everybody okay

everybody listen it's okay to be afraid

as long as you know you're not in real

danger i don't feel so afraid anymore

me neither

it's okay everybody the lights are back

on now yay and it stopped raining too

it sounds like the doorbell's ringing we

don't have a doorbell Druit that's Belle

oh uh I knew that

uh hello Belle uh what's new in Papy

land hello Papy it's nice to be online

again after that big storm buddy Bear

seems very upset uh did you ask him

what's wrong not on your life i'd never

wake a sleeping bear a sleeping bear i

don't get it Belle you just said buddy's

upset well he's asleep and upset at the

very same time pepe it sounds like he's

having a bad dream uh I better go over

there and find out what's wrong uh

thanks for letting me know Belle well

ring a ding ding i knew I could count on

you tootul P and to you too Belle maybe

I should come too Pat i know a lot about

sleeping it's my specialty it sure is

Elmer let's go okay but how will we get

there well let's see there's the Papyc

scope the Papy Pad Express the wishing

wheel or the much more door oh great the

much more door that's a papyrific idea

come on Elmer come on boys and girls the

sooner we get through that door the

sooner we can get to Buddy Bear's Hamlet

why is there a taxi waiting for us on

the other side

jumping jelly beans did you hear that

noise Papy i think I know who it is it

It sounds like Doodle Bug's my name

doodling's my game and I have a totally

undoable doodle for you today Py you

will never stick doodle into a picture

you'll never stop trying until you find

a doodle I can't do right Doodlebug yep

that's right so start using your noodle

if you want to do my doodle there do it

i thought about drawing an owl because

owls aren't afraid of the dark like some

of our other friends back at the cabin

uh yeah uh it sure is silly to be afraid

of the dark isn't it Papy yeah right

Elmer come on kids but let's find out if

Buddy Bear is still taking his nap and

see what's bothering him and this way to

the hamlet

Bad Dream

oh my Elmer we came just in the nick of

time

buddy's having a terrible time over here

help get away there's a monster

buddy there's no monster here oh hi Papy

where'd the monster go there's no

monster buddy you were just having a bad

dream no monster

what a relief it sure seemed real well

uh you do have an active imagination

buddy i see you were drawing something

over here before you took your nap oh

yes i was trying to draw a scary picture

mhm and I guess I scared myself i guess

you did tell you what let's fix your

picture so you won't have any more bad

dreams about monsters okay okay

okay let's get rid of the mouth here

now the eyes

and we'll fix

we'll put one eye there and another one

right there

and we'll put a

Hey he looks kind of friendly now i

guess I wouldn't mind meeting him in my

next dream that's good buddy hey Drew

how about a picture oh yeah a picture

yeah sure Elmer i I'll meet you outside

at the pad

Elephant

you can get ready at home by getting

your paper crayons pencils and markers

now let's draw a really big picture see

if you can guess what it is i'm all set

Peppy draw the elephant now Elmer you

gave it away okay kids let's draw the

elephant who's afraid of a very small

Well you'll see first we'll draw the

trunk and starting right here

bring this line down

stop

starting right here bring it down and

stop and that's the elephant trunk here

and we draw his little nose

one nostril two nostrils

all right and one of his tusks will be

hanging out right about there

and we'll draw

the other one right there

two circles for his eyes

one

two

good and two smaller

circles

have you ever drawn a picture of an

elephant lots of you wrote to Papy and

said you'd like to draw neat animals

like an elephant a kangaroo a puppy dog

even dolphins

so I hope you're enjoying drawing many

of the animals you asked for

and now I'll draw

the top of the other ear

and curve it in and out and in and out

good and starting right there right

where I put that dot

let's bring a curved

almost a half circle right there

good

and finish the other side like that now

let's draw his body starting right here

we'll

bring a line down

and a big curve line for his tummy good

and let's draw the other side bring it

down he's kind of a pear shape here do

you notice that boys and girls it looks

like a pear shape doesn't it

now let's draw

a curved line

right there

and another curved line

back of his

foot

there we go

this elephant just gave me an idea

just suppose elephants were our only

transportation

no cars trains buses or airplanes just

elephants what do you think would happen

think about that i'd love to hear your

ideas on that one

and

finish up these

them toes

all right let's draw the elephant's arm

now and we'll start by making a straight

line here

semi straight very gentle curve like

that bring it around

and a circle

another circle and another circle

and we'll show the other part of his arm

and

these are his nails

on the bottom of his arm there good now

let's draw his little tail here

good and he's sitting down on a little

stool so let's

indicate the stool that he's sitting on

that's the top part now let's draw the

one of the legs coming down and bring it

back up there's one leg

and bring down this line and stop right

right there because I'm going to draw

one of the cross

segments of this stool there's a cross

piece right there and it's coming across

connecting these two pieces like that

and we need another one right there good

all right let's put another line up here

just to show that the ear is kind of

folded folded inward here

now I'm going to draw

a long line right there

and another long line

right here

good

well our our elephant looks rather calm

and relaxed doesn't he now right here

I'm drawing a curved line looks like an

upside down U

and let's just draw another

line like that

to show that there's thickness to the

wall looks like a an opening to a little

H could be a mouse

wow boys and girls look at that big

elephant now what could he possibly be

afraid of let's find out picture do your

stuff

oops i didn't mean to scare you i just

wondered what time it was it's time to

get a new chair

boy was that elephant afraid and all

because of that itty bitty mouse how

could that big old elephant be afraid of

anything it doesn't matter what size you

are everybody feels afraid once in a

while you know it's almost impossible to

feel afraid when you sing and dance so

let's try that right now it'll make

everyone feel better oh sing a song how

about a song sure Pap it's what I do

Monster

sing songs for you

when you're feeling afraid

just think of the friends you've made

remember the games you've played and the

joy they bring

when I'm feeling afraid

I think of this song I made a happy

serenade and I sing

make believe monsters can't fight

all I have to do is just turn on just

turn on the light sometimes a dream

how real it can seem but I just remember

that soon I'll be smiling again

now I'm feeling glad

it's really not so bad

it was only a dream and bad dreams don't

stay

they don't stay

went to Buddy Bear's Hamlet he should be

back any minute with Elmer he went too

hi everybody hi Chucky oh hi Peppy i

just stopped by to see how everyone was

doing after that big storm

we're doing okay Chucky how about you

well the lights are still out in my log

why don't you stay here while we color

refrigerator no Elmer how can I tell if

there's an elephant in my refrigerator

you can't shut the door Pat you can't

Coloring

oh Elmer

okay boys and girls if you haven't

gotten your crayons your markers yet

now's the time to get them all right i'm

going to choose a nice bright pink how

is that for being creative

a bright pink color for the elephant

wow

did you say you used yellow you used

yellow for your elephant that's a good

idea

there we go

and

now I'm going to color the elephant's

head

just like so

fill it right in

there we go

yeah a pink elephant

that certainly is a

good way to use your imagination when

you pick a color that's different than

the actual color that the that the uh

thing that you're drawing for instance

an elephant is gray but I chose pink

just so I can use my imagination and

have some fun with it

there we go

fill that right in

he's sitting on such a small stool

i wonder how it can even hold his weight

such a large elephant on a little tiny

stool

i'm starting to think that yellow would

be a nice color for the stool

while I'm coloring in the elephant I'm

thinking of other ideas as I color

all righty

here we go finish this other leg

and

he's looking very good

i like the colors you're choosing Papy

fill that light in

and

so much to color

yet

I feel

that when I'm coloring with you it makes

the time go by

in a wonderful way

i think I'm going to

color the inside of the ear

like so

and I'll color his tail his little tail

you thought I forgot it did you but I

didn't

[Music]

and

I'll just lightly color his tusks just

ever so lightly

which makes a lighter shade of yellow

and we'll press down too hard

there and let's just color that pink and

just a little brown to show the inside

of this what appears to be a little

doorway or entrance way to a mouse's

hole and there we go

there we go that looks good

well that about finishes it let me see

your pictures girls and boys hold them

up high colorific

listen you hear that that's one of my

favorite sounds because it means you're

about to visit the Hall of Fame

wow what great drawings let's take a

closer look at a few of these paprific

creations

now I'd love to see your drawings too

boys and girls don't be afraid to send
