day it was summer

and the hot weather had

arrived Connie was on her way to the

woods where it was cool and

while the four friends were playing the

day was getting hotter and

hotter oh I can't play anymore I'm

feeling much too hot yes so am I I'm

roasting then let's go down to the river

and Co off in the water Yahoo swim in

the river what a great idea

so Connie and her friends made their way

down to the

river they were looking forward to a

refreshing

dip it was a long walk but eventually

they came to the river Patty was so

eager to swim that he jumped straight in

come on in the water is lovely they all

hopped into the water and they started

to

play good we can play ball without

getting Hot Patch was very inquisitive

and he wanted to see what was under the

water but what a surprise he got oh look

who it has it's our friend George the

crab were you having a swim too crabs

don't have to go for a swim they live

under the water

oh of course they do silly

me look who's coming it's Crick the

Cricket and he's with Simon the

beetle oh the water looks lovely I wish

that we could jump in the river and swim

like you lot then why don't you join

us oh no we can't do that the river

would wash us away in a

second if the river wasn't so fast we

like

too so would

I Connie saw that lots of her little

friends wanted to swim but the river was

too dangerous for

them if the water in the river wasn't

moving so fast they could swim as much

as they like what can we do they need

Still Water I know I've just had a great

idea if we work together we could build

a swimming pool of course a swimming

pool that's a fantastic idea Connie that

way it will be safe for all of us to

swim together would be wonderful so what

are we waiting for then let's get to

work right

away we to swimming pools

h* everybody came to help build the very

first swimming pool in the woods

they all worked so hard that in no time

at all they were ready to fill the pool

with

water it's perfect now we have to dig a

little channel so the water from the

river can flow

in so patch started to dig the

[Music]

channel everyone was very

excited they couldn't wait to swim in

the new

pool but then

oh there's a big rock in the way it's

enormous how we ever going to move a big

rock like that now we can't fill up the

swimming pool we won't be able to ever

swim they were so close to the river but

they couldn't reach it everybody was

very disappointed it seemed such a

[Music]

shame nor but the beaver lived on the

river bed he heard the

and came out of his nest to see what was

going

on dear o dear o dear it looks like

you're having problems with that rock

well don't worry I think I can help

[Music]

you Norbert the beaver was an expert at

digging tunnels he started burrowing in

the riverbank digging around the rocks

that were in the

way very soon he reached the swimming

pool

water began to flow in through the

tunnel thank you for helping us Mr

Beaver it was very kind of you it was

you who did the hard work Connie you

managed to get everyone to help build

the swimming pool yeah I think you're a

very good little cow oh it was nothing

now come on everybody let's

swim thanks to Connie her little friends

could all swim whenever they wanted to

that summer and the next summer and the

next one too

that night Connie was so glad she had

such good friends when good friends get

together they can do amazing things
