03x07 - Toons Take Over

Post by bunniefuu »

We're tiny We're toony We're all a little

loony And in this cartoony We're invading

your heating We're comic dispensers We've

got them all defenses On tiny toon

adventures Get a dose of comedy So here's

at the acres It's a whole wide world

apart Our hopes, we only stand alone The

cartoon works apart Left rest were

rejected Expect the unexpected

They're furry, they're funny! They're

fast and busted funny, Much had a match

as money, Now my wreck is a pain! He's

happy, friends lucky, Disney Devils

yucky! Purple's on yucky, and Gogo

is insane! And at the university we

earn our two degrees! Institution class

been getting waxed since 1938! We're

tiny, we're too many, we're all a little

loony It's tiny to the adventure, come

and join the fun!And now

our song is done.

Hi, Eric. I talked to my agent.

Yeah, I told him I'd take anything to

make Ryan turns down. So Steven loved my

last script, Peter. Too bad about yours.

Steven who?All right, then. If

the actors are here... HereAnd the

writers are here... HereWe

can start the read-through. Okay. Episode

outside Buster's rabbit hole. Buster and

Babs step in and say... Hiya, Soonsters.

You're probably wondering why I'm dressed

like an aardvark. To blend in with the

rest of your family?

My joke! My joke! My joke!

Cute, Beth. It is because today is Salute

to the Aardvark Day here on Tiny Toons.

So it's true. Mel Gibson did cancel. My

joke! My joke! My joke! Will you

all please be quiet? What's the matter,

Babs? This is a funny script. Funny,

schmoney. I'm sick of being funny. Hardy

har-har. That's all I ever hear. I am

an actress, not a whoopee cushion. I

resent that.

I want something needy.

Ow! Something with bite!

BitchNo! A serious role! Baby...

A romantic Southern belle

torn between two lovers. I'm with

you. I want to do some real acting like a

tough, muscular, action-adventure

hero.

Me too. I want to play a selfish

loudmouth egomaniac. But that's what

you are. Oh, well, what I meant was

something classic. Shakespearean.

Something that will utilize my thespian

skills to their rut most. Which

means... anything requiring

leotards. But you guys

are funny. Comedy is what you do. Not

anymore! I say we go talk to the top

brass at Warner Brothers. We deserve a

chance! Come on!

This explains why he was yelling fuller

on all those conference calls.

Well, Well it's, uh.. First name, Buster

and Babs. Last name, Bunny.

Relation, none. Right, Buster and

Babs Bunny. And who's that behind you?Uh,

Plucky Duck, Mr. Deville, sir. I'm glad

to see you. Really?

Yes, you see, I need a caddy.

So what's on your minds?Well, Stevie, we

want to make a cartoon ourselves. We want

to do something bold and meaningful.

Heartwarming, yet dramatic. Tasteful, but

low in calories. And we

don't want to do comedy.

But comedy is what you do. Just listen to

our idea. It's called, uh,

Dawn of Despair. We open with these

beautiful crashing waves.

And find the beautiful heroine, Daphne

Despair, awaiting the return of her

sweet, loving... Glass Copperhead!

Mercenary adventure hero! He's just

returned from freeing oppressed peoples

of the world! Suddenly, he sees...

Duke Plutius! Brilliantly portrayed by

yours truly. Ow!

Or, uh.. something like that.

Anyway... I've heard enough. And...

Do you like it?No! I hate it!

But you three making a cartoon will be a

great publicity stunt. You can do it. Get

me the publicity department! Now! Now,

which one of you is gonna be the, uh,

director?I am! Hmm..

Come on, let's go talk to the staff.

Greetings, Happy Wage Drones! Of course,

you know I'm Dabs Bunny. And I'm Buster

Bunny. No relation.

Exactly. We've got some great news, g*ng.

Buster, Plucky, and I are going to write,

direct, and star in our own romantic...

Action-adventure. Shakespearean...

Cartoon!

I'll bet this never happens to Martin

Scorsese.

You turn into your cubicles, and you will

not be harmed. Oh, oh, there is

free ice cream for everyone! That's

right, free ice cream inside!

Let's go meet with the writers. So in our

story, Buster, Plucky, and I... Get

hit by some big anvils. Cow!

Not exactly. It's not a comedy. The

lovely heroine has tragically

discovered... That she walked off a

cliff. Huh

And then an anvil falls on her.

Ha! Gag! Funny stuff! My joke.

How's your typing?Good enough.

And we won't be needing these.

Ryder's Supplies.

Bags.

Jokes.

Wild Takes. There must be something in

here we can use! Hey, what's that?

Contains sincerity, pathos, romance,

danger, and several other things that

shouldn't be in a comedy show. Perfect!

Just what we need!

Give it exam.

This is so

brilliant!

Hey, how long is a six-minute cartoon

script supposed to be?Ten pages.

Maybe the story editor can trim it down a

mite.

We're a little over.

Fix it. Everyone

report to the bullpen. We're choosing

teams. I'll

take pretty boy. I'll take the pencil

next. I'll take a racer head. All

the women.

All the guys.

All the others.

All right, here's the storyboard so far,

Babs. Here she's on the beach, like you

had in your script, but I changed that

stupid mushy love stuff, and I had her

fall on some jellyfish instead.

Now that's mushy!

But I want mushy! I want those! This is

not a comedy! But comedy is what you

do!

You go to your cubicle this instant,

mister!That's better.

Uh-huhThat's good. Actually,

that's very good.

This is so

brilliant! Faster,

cheaper, cheaper, faster!

Faster, cheaper, cheaper,

faster! Faster, cheaper,

cheaper, faster! Faster,

cheaper, cheaper, faster!

Please, more money! I'm sorry!

I didn't mean

it! I'm sorry! I'll go! I'll

go!

Oh! Oh! Please! Anyone else

want more money?

Gee, this is easier than I thought. I've

already done four drawings. Now, how many

more do I got to do?About 6,000.

not.

Now, there's an idea.

Well, we've got all the drawings done.

Now to get it shot. Oh, great.

Camera operator on vacation! How are we

gonna get these drawings on film?Let's do

it ourselves! I mean, how hard can it be

to operate a little old camera?

How about a big oak, Tamera? There must be

some instructions.

Okay, first drawing.

Let's see here. Hmm, zip

pen. That sounds quick.

Can we just get to the end of this scene?

Why not?

They laughed at us. They said we couldn't

do it. But we hold in our hands the

proof that they were wrong. My friends,

we came, we saw, we

cartooned. And after these messages,

we'll run it. This

is so brilliant!

I want to thank all the little people out

there in the dark.

Hey! Where are all the fans?Where's the

paparazzi?Where the lousy premiere is

this?Oh, this isn't a premiere,

bunny. Because you see, I've got to

approve this cartoon before it leaves the

studio. Don't be ridiculous! It's pure

genius! My house, my

rules. This cartoon is ready for the

whole world!

HmmA transmitter. How convenient. I've

got an idea. Good afternoon,

gentlemen. In a moment, we'll be

presenting our dramatic debut that I am

sure you're all excited about.

My work shall not be in vain.

Let no man hide from the wonders of my

creation!

Ard! I'd say a little satellite

piracy is an arder.

Oh, the terrible weight of this trunk

is like the weight of my soul.

Like a rock made from solid

stone.

Need

help?Yes, I... I..

I like you.

Yes, I do.

Ah

Gentlemen. The voyage is long,

long like my soul, and I have fallen

helplessly in love with both of you in

such a short time. Pity me.

Ohh

One small step for tunes.

One giant step for me, Buster, and Plucky

specifically.

Hey, is that Tiny Toots?

I pretty, pretty knave, take thine arms

hence and thence, and bestoweth thy

freedom, on this that they're maiden and

on. You talkin' to me?

This... is so...

brilliant!

Two welts, two men on, bottom of the

ninth, and here's the pitch.

Yeah,

I do. Zoun, have at you, Varlet.

Eat hat, flame creep.

My love! They say the ship is sinking.

Sinking like my soul. We must abandon

ship. Alas, the moment of my

close-up and dramatic monologue costs

aside for a plot point.

I can only love one. It's just too

much to bear. Bear like my

soul. Ohh

It was your turn to catch her.

How's it going over? It'd be better.

What have you done?Get out!

Get out!

This is bad. I mean, this is really bad.

This is so bad. It's

good. You know, it's so bad, because

it's good.

Well, this is funny! Well, look at me!

Ma, I'm laughing! And I don't

laugh! This... This is very funny!

You really like it, Mr. Deville?

Yes! And...

And you're glad you let us do it?Yes! And

you're gonna let us make another

one?No!

But for making me laugh... You can keep

your jobs, okay? Now, go! Go be funny!

About time you're back. Let's take it

from the top. Episode 97, Toons Take

Over. The setting is outside Buster's

rabbit hole. Buster and Babs step in and

say... Hiya, Toonsters. You're probably

wondering why I'm dressed like an

aardvark. To blend in with the rest of

your family?You're funny.

No, no, you're

funny.

No, I'm funny.
