We have something darting
across in front of this camera

and it shakes as if
something was thrown.

This is high tide. We
are trapped on this island

with something, I
don't know what it is.

You think these
creatures are dangerous?

Yes. Time to go home.

Holy.

Something's howling.

My god!

I say we go and try and lay eyes
on whatever made that sound.

We'll leave this on that channel
recording, in case it happens again,

and we'll take this
with us and we'll know...

Along the northern
face of gray mountain,

Ronny and mireya have
just heard a strange howl

captured by one of the
audio surveillance devices

placed around the area.

They're placed right at
the top, along the line.

Utilizing multi-directional
acoustic technology,

the microphones can
triangulate the location

from which the sound originated.

One of the things that happens
so often is that we'll hear a sound

and we try to find the
direction that it was coming from

and then, not know if
whatever made it is still there.

By grabbing this mobile device, we're able
to approach the area and still monitor it

to make sure that whatever
it is that we're pursuing,

is still in the area.

And, if it moves,
we'll know that, too.

Just as you move, remember
that that sound came

just a few minutes ago,
right? So, whatever made it

is likely still here.

Chances are we're
not alone right now.

Are you freaking seeing this?

That thing is upside down.

After pursuing an
unknown creature,

Russell has become trapped by
the tide on a small island off the coast

and has just encountered
an upside-down tree

unnaturally buried in a marsh.

Yeah, something forced that down
into the mud in the middle of that water.

This thing's been pulled out of
the soil and stuck into the ground,

I would say within the last

two hours.

Ryan, we're on an island.
What would've done that?

This is the strangest thing.

A couple days ago,

I spotted a couple of uprooted
trees that are upside-down in the soil.

Do you see that? It looks
like an upside-down tree.

I, officially, don't
freaking like this place.

But tonight, I've stumbled
across a third upside-down tree.

After how many years of research
I've done, I've never seen one

until I get here.

And, now I've seen three.

This whole island belongs to,

well, I'll tell you what,
it doesn't belong to us.

When you start finding multiples
of that same strange thing,

we're seeing a pattern here.

And, I'm feeling like.

I'm walking into a
space that is not safe.

I'll check that out.

Are you seeing these
footprints in the water?

That's crazy.

We got high tide.

You feel like you're surrounded
by this moat that you can't cross.

You're stuck here.

Ryan, look at this thing.

That went out the other side.

Anything that's on
this island right now,

we're in it together.

We need to be alert

I'm following tracks from
this upside-down tree

and I find this cabin.

I bet this is from the
'40s or '50s. This is old.

This is really old.

It hasn't been used in
a very, very long time.

But, the four walls and the
roof are structurally sound.

Let's get in here
and get set up.

If we're gonna stay, we're gonna
stay in that one-room structure.

It's a great way to stay
dry and stay protected.

Let's find something just
to push up against here

so we're not dealing
with just open air.

perfectly right there.

If we put our
backs to this wall,

kinda hug this corner,

we're facing the only
entrance and exit in the room.

If we're both facing
out, we should be good.

Do you notice how
quiet it suddenly got?

It's almost like someone is turning
down the volume on the forest.

That can happen
for a lot of reasons,

especially if there's
a predator nearby.

- There's a really strong smell here.
- I just was gonna say that.

When I came through here
earlier to put those sensors in,

it didn't smell like this.

Ronny, what was that?

Hey!

Ronny.

- Ronny, did you hear it?
- I just heard that, yeah.

Felt like it was
coming from over there.

Well, it was coming from
way over there, but it didn't,

so, it didn't pick up on this.

I'll switch the channel.

It sounded like a crying baby.,

or, seriously like
a wailing goat.

It was really strange.

That's what I would
say, like a wailing goat.

I'm absolutely convinced that we're
dealing with a sasquatch right now.

I believe one of two
things are happening.

Either a big foot is trying to
lure us deeper into the forest,

or we're hearing a big
foot feeding on something.

It's similar to what Bryce
heard in Washington state.

That sounds like the
deer being attacked.

My blood just ran cold.

That was not a natural
sound of the forest.

That was insanely,
insanely creepy.

I mean,

I don't ever wanna hear
that sound in a forest.

Let's keep going this way.

Be careful. It
could be right here.

Hey, Ronny. Let's
switch to our red lights.

Whatever that crazy sound was,
it was definitely in this direction.

Are you seeing any
prints or anything?

I'm not seeing anything.

This place is insane.

that piece of wood out.

It was like it was taunting me.

That aggressive behavior was enough
to make me realize right here, right now,

I'm in the wrong place
and I need to move.

It was right beside us.

When you get comfortable
and you let your guard down,

suddenly you realize that all that
safety and security is no longer there.

We had to leave. We
needed a space that was

not confined, not congested,
not a perfect ambush situation.

Move. Get up here with me.

Listen. That thing
was right on that wall.

No, I just know that whatever
it was that hit that wall

and pushed that
thing off was big.

It could've been a bear.

But it was something I
didn't wanna mess with.

We were literally sitting ducks.

I'm sorry, man. Well, we're
not gonna get any sleep tonight.

I hope we can wait
for that sunrise here.

I feel so much better
out here in the open air.

I don't feel like we're
trapped in a box.

A tombstone made of wood.

After hearing mysterious sounds

captured by their
surveillance microphones,

Ronny and mireya have
discovered a small grave site.

Reminds me of Oregon.

Three years ago, during the
team's first expedition in Oregon...

Ronny and mireya
discovered a cemetery

dating back over


These are all children.

Filled mostly with
children's graves.

According to
legends and reports,

big foot often show up in areas marked
by sorrow and emotional darkness.

And to hear what
sounded like a scream

coming from an area
where we found this

child's tombstone in
the middle of the woods,

this just affirms that idea.

I don't put a lot of stock into stories
about big foot connected to emotions,

but this is the second time that we have
found a grave site near an area of activity

and I have to admit
that that's pretty odd.

I get very uneasy
vibe about this place.

Five miles west,

Bryce is exploring the area where a
witness had a possible big foot encounter.

It is also in close proximity
to their target zone.

Right now, I'm just
exploring this area

where Jeffrey said

something ran its
claw across his camper.

When I first spoke to Jeffrey,

he told me about his grandfather's
encounter with a big foot

or kushtaka.

But I just learned

he's had a terrifying
encounter of his own.

Next thing you know, it
started shaking the whole trailer.

Did you get a
look at what it was?

We ran outside and
I could see this face.

So, I'm back in the
area of the woods

where he was
attacked in his camper.

It's so close to our target zone

and the fact that it only
happened a few months ago,

I wanna see if whatever scared
him off left any evidence behind.

Thinking back,

to what that logger told
me about his work site,

being terrorized and
things being taken,

and then, hearing
Jeffrey's story,

there seems to be

this common theme that
when you stumble into a territory

where big foot does not want
you, he is gonna let you know.

My god. Look at this one.

Holy.

What!

Look at this. This is all just

connected and woven together.

Looking at these
tree structures,

I can tell that they were built
with intelligence and design.

But knowing that this is the same
area where Jeffrey had his encounter,

tells me that there's something
significant about this place.

I just got the most

uneasy feeling just
looking at this thing.

This is insane.

What the was that?

to keep a lower profile.

I'm gonna pull out my camera.

Okay.

I don't know what
the hell that was.

But that was loud.

And it was right when I was
checking out whatever this is.

That sounded close.

I don't see anything.

I'll tell you what, I didn't like
this place when I walked into it,

and I like it even
less right now.

It feels like I'm being watched.

You know, I hear a
lot of people talk about

just that...

Did you hear that?

That was the strangest noise.

Now look, if it came
from over there...

That was the creepiest
sound I've ever heard.

I'm not a wildlife expert,

but when people talk about an
unnatural sound coming from the woods,

that was that.

Let me just see if I can
see something here.

My god!

What the hell was that?

Man.

I am getting an
overall sensation

of something not
wanting me here.

Starting with finding
that tree structure,

to hearing whatever
the hell that was,

the message is clear.

And it's sending
a chill up my spine.

Something is trying to
scare me out of these woods.

My legs don't wanna move, but I
think we need to move in that direction.

Just move real slow and
follow my lead, all right?

My gosh. I'm tired.

I got

just a little bit more
time before that

tide starts rising back up and
it's all the way on the bottom now.

So now I can get across.

On a small island off the
coast of prince of wales,

Russell has spent
the night outside

after being forced
from the cabin

where he and his
cameraman were taking shelter.

Hey, man. Hey!

Let's get our gear.

I didn't sleep much last night

and that gave me
some time to think.

Look where we are.

We're on this island

where there is definitely
something around me.

A few days ago, I was
led to that abandoned mine

where it showed signs that
something was living inside of it.

So now, we have two locations
that are both perfect places to hide.

Now, you've got a
river with fresh water,

hunting grounds

that connects both
of these locations.

It's a pretty well used trail.

It's exactly what
I'm looking for.

I think if big foot is here,

it's using the river
and the forest around it

to maneuver between
these two points.

Look at this trail.

This is that wilderness Alaskan
highway I was looking for.

Now that I think I know
where they're moving to,

I have the perfect tool
to help me find them.

Might be able to use this
for some of those burrs.

I've got with me burrs that have
tiny little tracking devices in them.

Now last year, we were very
successful with these tools.

And this will stay with
whatever it hooks on to.

Hey, look at this!

Where's my burr?

Where's my device?

Something picked
this thing up, Zach.

I'm gonna use this branch
right here beside you, bud.

I'm placing trackers
along the trails.

These things will
attach themselves

to anything passing by that has hair
and I can track its movement and location.

Now, I've brought twice as
many trackers with me this year.

These things move
and I will get an alert.

And if I'm within 1,000
yards of this tracker,

I can pinpoint that thing
down to a five-foot section.

Russell has placed 18 trackers at
varying heights throughout the forest

in between the island
and the abandoned mine.

Careful coming through.

Whatever this is, it's definitely smart
enough to know that I'm following it

and it's definitely staying
just ahead of me enough

to where, we're back in that
cat-and-mouse game that I've played before.

Perfect.

I can't give up on this.

If this tracker does its job,

then I'll be able to do mine.

We're set.

Okay, let's cut
back up the hill.

This is awesome.

- Military grade night vision.
- Yeah.

In addition to the acoustic devices
spread throughout the forest,

Ronny and mireya are deploying
state-of-the-art visual technology.

I'm glad we're using
these goggles again.

And it's gonna be a
gamechanger for us.

I like this a lot,

mostly because it levels
the playing field a little bit.

Nocturnal animals
have superior vision

to what you and I would have
walking around in the dark out here

and this is really
gonna improve that.

But, we're gonna have to move a lot slower
because we are gonna lose a lot of depth

perception, typically we
have that 190 degree range.

Yeah.

With these, we're gonna
be limited to 40 degrees.

That's gonna be a challenge.

So, we're gonna cover less ground,
but we're gonna be a lot more stealth.

Right. I have another idea that we
can actually implement with this, too.

We could use these infrared

cameras, put them on the back
of the helmet because I've been in

different situations where I felt like
something was behind me or following me

and when you turn around,
there's nothing there.

So, we can also use ir flashlights,
which animals won't be able to see.

Even though we're
losing some of that

field of vision in the
front, we're gonna have...

- We're gonna have eyes behind our head.
- Yeah.

So, this will
allow us to kind of

scan around as we're using the night
vision, but also be recording in the back.

I like that because if you
think of predatory behavior,

they're gonna
come from the back.

This just offers us

yet another way, a unique
way, to explore this environment.

So, yeah. We'll place
these right on the back.

You know?

I like this a lot, just trying
something different out here

just a fresh approach, I
think is really a good idea.

Yeah.

I think this will be awesome.

Where's my tracker?

It's not here.

Something grabbed the tracker.

When I come to
my first location,

the tracker's gone.

This tracker's moving.

Let's go.

Then, I get an
alert and I know that

something has got
one of my trackers.

So, I'm gonna start
following this thing.

The chase is on.

We're right here
and it's out this way.

So, we'll head
in that direction.

Whatever has this tracker, is
constantly moving at a brisk pace.

But, the signal shows that I'm still
closing that gap between the two of us.

We're getting closer.

Pow, pow, pow, pow.

I'm following the signal
from this missing tracker

and as I'm tracking this thing, the
only thing I'm finding on the ground

are wolf tracks.

Do you see how
big these tracks are?

Do you see how heavy
that sunk in the mud?

This thing just
went through here.

We're following
this wolf right here.

After seeing those prints,
I'm satisfied with knowing that

my tracker is attached to a wolf

and that's not
what I'm here for.

I'm not gonna go through
this forest chasing a wolf down,

if I know that that's exactly
what's got my tracker.

Look at this right here.

Wow!

Bryce has received digital copies
of the newly discovered evidence

from the field team.

That was weird. About
two seconds of something.

It also looked like it had long

hair.

Let's get this sd card to Bryce.

So, the team just sent me
some amazing evidence.

The first is in this form
of a trail camera video

which captured
something truly unique.

Take a look.

Right here, you see
something cross the camera.

It just happened so fast, but
what catches my attention,

is the hair

of what appears to be
something large running by.

You know, look, this
could easily be a bear.

We're in a place that's massively
populated by black bears.

So, this could be that, but,

but I don't know, this reminds
me of what we saw in Kentucky.

These spikes just
look like hair to me.

I mean, this just looks like
an animal with either hair or fur

that was extremely
close to the camera.

Right here, just those
hairs, those large hairs,

which are so
reminiscent of a big foot.

But, just like in Kentucky, all
I really see here is some hair.

So, I'm not gonna rule
out this piece of evidence,

but I just can't say with certainty
that we captured what we're looking for.

But this, on the other
hand, really intrigues me.

This is an incredible 3D scan of a
footprint that Ronny and mireya captured

that was taken in the same area
as this trail camera image was.

And so, when you put the two together, it
starts to create a really compelling story.

Take a look at this footprint.

Right off the bat, I can tell it doesn't
appear to be, what's called a double step.

A lot of the times, people will
mistake a bear's double step

for a big foot footprint.

A double step is
when a bear's hindleg

steps into the same
exact track as its front leg

making it appear to look like

a large human footprint.

I don't see any
evidence of that here.

This is a pristine foot. I
can see the heel clearly

and these toes splayed out, it's
such a deep impression into the soil.

We'll have to actually just
take some measurements here.

So, if I make a line just from the
base of the heel all the way to the

biggest toe, we get about...

You know what, just
the shape of this and how

clean it is, reminds me
of that incredible footprint

that Russell captured
in Washington.

Now, look how big
this thing is. Holy crap!

- Look how long that thing is.
- That is big.

- Nearly 16.
- Sixteen inches.

Wow!

You know what?

They do sort of look
similar. I'd love to actually

just take a look at that.

Here we go!

Yeah!

I mean,

those look, those look
strikingly similar to me.

For the most part, these
look almost identical.

Let's actually take a look
at how wide this foot is.

So, this foot right here
is about six-and-a-half

inches wide,

which guess what?

So is this one.

Is that a striking
coincidence or similarity?

Sure, it's possible, right?

But, here's the thing.

We can only guesstimate how many
of these creatures are actually out there.

And I think we have a pretty
good idea at how far of a distance

these creatures can migrate.

So, it just has my mind
spinning that perhaps,

these footprints could come
from the same family grouping.

Or even, what if this
was the same big foot?

Now, I know that's a pretty

far-stretched theory, but so was why
we came to Alaska in the first place.

Right? We came here because
we discovered a wolf hair

that should not have
been in northern California.

Yet, that led us on
this quest that perhaps,

big foot is migrating from
Alaska, down through Canada,

through the olympic peninsula
and in places like northern California,

through the changing seasons.

I know it's a crazy thought,
but it wouldn't surprise me

if this is the same creature.

It's just too much
of a coincidence.

Whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa. Here we go.

We've got another
tracker on the move.

That's within 1,000
yards of here. Let's go.

Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Man, this thing
is really moving.

Here's where I
set up the tracker.

Now, this is the
tallest one I put up.

And it's gone.

This was almost eye level to me.

A bear wouldn't
have picked that up.

A deer wouldn't
have picked that up.

Something as tall as a man

six feet or taller,

picked up my tracker
and is on the move.

We gotta stay on this thing.

- Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- Signal, signal!

There we go.

This thing is moving
fast, moving with intent.

If I can get out ahead or parallel
with it, I need eyes on this thing.

It's heading for the coast.

This is exactly what
I've been looking for.

It's out in the front of us.

Okay.

So, I'm getting used to this

night vision binocular.

You can see pretty clearly, but you
definitely lose some depth perception

as you're walking.

The team is equipped with
military grade night vision gear.

I have a pretty clear
picture of the pass.

They've also attached rear-facing
infrared cameras to their helmets

along with an ir flashlight

that casts a light outside
the visible spectrum.

So, with the naked eye,
you don't see them right now?

No, that's crazy.

It's so bright for me.

Its beam is only detectable

by the helmet cameras and those
of the cameramen following the team.

Normally, visibility would
be limited to your flashlight

beam.

This allows me to
see pretty deep and,

having the infrared camera
on the back of the helmet,

just allows me to not
miss anything because

we definitely feel
like we're being

followed and paralleled when
we're go into certain areas, so

I'm gonna have my head on
a swivel, just looking around.

I'm hoping that this
is gonna capture

anything that's
trying to follow.

Walking through the forest
with the rear-facing cameras

gives me an extra
degree of confidence.

We've been in this scenario
so many times where

I'm hearing something

moving beside me, almost
paralleling me, but now,

if there is something
following me,

we'll have video evidence of it.

So far, no visuals.
But it's been

really, really quiet.
Almost too quiet.

All right. I haven't seen
anything on this end either.

Yeah, the forest has this

really eerie

quietness about it right now.

There's definitely
an energy out here.

Like, you're waiting for
something to happen.

Often times, big foot reports,

they talk about the forest
going completely silent.

All the prey here are aware of

big foot being in the vicinity, so
they all hunker down for the night.

Kinda makes you feel a bit
uneasy walking through here.

So, because of the fact that

I'm able to sit out here
in complete darkness,

I feel that by hunkering down,

I'm in a really good
position that if anything

were to come through here,

it may not even
realize that I'm here.

Shh!

What was that?

That sound, that was insane.

Yeah, it sounded like
what we heard last night,

almost like a baby crying,
or an animal being hurt.

I just heard what sounded like some of
sort weird baby cry or animal noise again.

It sounded like it was close.

Wow! Do you know
what direction you're,

you're hearing that sound?

It sounded like it was
coming north of my location.

Copy that.

Normally, I would start, sort of,
running towards a sound like that,

but with the
limited depth of field

I think my best
strategy right now is to

slowly start making
my way in that direction.

Copy that.

I'm gonna head towards that direction
and it looks like I should come to

your position, so I'm sure we're
gonna hit each other at some point.

Okay. That sounds great.

I just got the chills.

Really difficult to
maneuver through here.

You feel like you're
being watched.

That's what I'm
getting right now.

What the hell?

I mean, that to me sounded like
something like, a heavy heart sound.

My god.

Look at this.

That thing should
be right in front of us.

Right down there.

I've been tracking
something for hours now.

I've covered so much distance,
I'm outside of our target zone

by about two or three miles.

This is continuous
movement and non-stop.

I'm tired.

Now, I can tell by the
way this thing is moving,

that it's not a wolf and
it's certainly not a bear.

And, if I had to guess,

I would say this thing
is running from me.

We're close.

Where did it go?

I got nothing.

Let's go down this way.

Is that the water right there?

Watch your step.

That thing was
right in front of us.

There's nothing in
front of us but water.

This thing made a straight
beeline for this coastline.

The trajectory of this thing
did not deviate in any way.

It knew its direction, it knew its path
and it came right to this water's edge

and vanished.

Ryan, I just don't get it, man.

It's absolutely impossible for it to
disappear like that. There's no way.

What the hell!

Hang on a second.

That other coastline,
maybe what, a mile away?

I think it went across, man.

Hey, check something here, man.

The only place it could've gone

is across these rocks
and into that water

to swim to that other island.

Look at this.

This right here is the shortest
distance between this island

and the chain of islands
that leads to the mainland.

Holy crap!

I have something with
that tracker attached to it

that is smart enough to know

that it is the shortest point

from this island
to that mainland

right here in front of us.

Whatever has my tracker,

is in this water and I believe it's making
its way over to the mainland right now.

You ready?

I need to be on that
shore tomorrow morning

because if I can get
within 1,000 yards

of where that tracker is,

I will be in hot pursuit.

I don't know what this
thing wants on the mainland,

but I'm gonna be
there right on its heels.
