There was a whole series of them.

And this one is just taillights.

They knew they were selling cars.

What's up, beautiful people?

Welcome to another car-studded episode

But if you see a picture

Honestly, my brother's car

Here we are on this beautiful day

Okay, relax.

It's beat up, you know?

It needs a lot of work.

So we sent a camera crew out

that he was still

in the running for this show.

And to find out why that car

I'm a proud owner

When I first got my Lexus,

it just made me feel cool.

From the side, it looks beautiful.

If you're looking at me

But unfortunately,

Just a little bit, though.

As a photographer,

I don't want them to think,

"Who did I hire?"

Of course I want to upgrade this car,

but I have other expenses.

I have bills to pay.

It's just It's hard to hustle

when your car is not hustling.

Some people will say it's just a car.

To me, it's not.

I've had so many memories.

Me and Alex's first date was in this car.

I love my car so much

I tattooed it on my leg.

I think it looks dope. Alex was livid.

What am I gonna do? It was already done,

and it's there permanently.

If this car is brought back to life,

I can make money and have a future,

an actual future that I can see with Alex,

and we can ride off

in the sunset with this car.

I'm never getting rid of this car.

I'm letting you know now.

All right. Here's the deal.

We picked Kevin for the show,

and we're gonna resurrect

his very sad ride.

But he doesn't know that yet,

and he's about to find out.

Right now,

Kevin's in there with his girlfriend

at the market shopping.

And how I know that

is because I'm an all-knowing God.

I know everything.

I've been wandering the world

through the time and space.

I am time itself.

I've been everywhere you haven't been

and anywhere you want to be.

Also, I've been texting

with the girlfriend,

and we made up this whole ruse

to keep him in there and keep him busy.

So, between that and the all-knowing ,

here's what I know.

That's his dusty-a*s Lexus over there.

Alex hooked me up with the spare key,

and we're gonna toy with them for real

by switching it out

with this toy car right here.

Yeah! It's not that clever. It's not!

But I loved robbing that child for that,

and he's crying somewhere.

-Let's do this.

-Let's move the car.

Stay low! Stay low!

This is gonna be hilarious.

Hurry up! Move the car, man!

I've never stolen a car before.

I never thought it'd be this smooth

with this many white people helping.

Is this your whip?

- Hey, what's going on, bro?

And if you can't notice,

but you made the show, man.

Tell me about this thing.

You know, this is just the sun, man.

It's just getting suntanned right here.

So somebody hit yo car and was like,

Kevin's submission video, right?

Got to know his vibe a bit.

You know, Kevin's a cool guy,

very confident.

You gotta be confident

to ride this around town in public.

True.

Jeez.

This is a Lexus IS 300, man.

These things in their heyday

were one of the nicest cars you can get.

So there are two ways

that you can really go about it.

You can go street race car,

or you can go with a VIP style build.

I'm thinking we go classy,

like tuxedo style.

What that usually is

is full body work all the way around.

- Yeah, yeah.

We'll pull the hood off,

fix the dent, make it full carbon fiber.

We'll drop some weight

One thing we need to do on this thing

is tear this thing apart.

Take the interior out.

You can't be riding like this.

-Know what I mean?

We can put

I love some red wheels.

What about the suspension?

We gotta lower this thing down

I say we drop it

Yeah, two, three inches on this thing.

I wanna hook this guy up in some way

where he can travel anywhere he goes,

So I'm thinking of,

trunk opens, something comes out.

We'll have to figure out

then make it safe so something closes

over it and it's locked.

That's perfect,

because he got this big sh**t coming up,

and we gotta get his car back in 11 days.

See, he used to park down the street

and have to walk and stuff.

Now he's gonna ride his car

right into the building.

Then, I was thinking for the console,

we cut it out,

build a custom aluminum piece.

This sounds fire, dawg.

I might not even give it back to Kevin.

I'm about to ride past him like, "Sorry!"

Let's grab our tools,

and let's tear it apart.

- Yeah!

See y'all in a few days, man.

Y'all have fun with this. I'mma go tweet.

- This is in bad shape.

- Yep.

- My job just got harder.

- Hold.

Yeah!

A pile of destruction.

You want to fix this dent?

- Yeah, if you want to flip it.

- Yeah, that'd be nice.

Creating carbon fiber parts

is my specialty,

and fabricating a brand-new hood

for Kevin's Lexus

sounded like a good idea

when I pitched it.

Gee, that's a lot of edging.

That's not gonna work anyway.

Uh-oh.

Um, so we're gonna pull it.

But to make sure

the new hood fits the car,

I need to use the old hood as a mold,

and it's in terrible shape.

That's gonna need some love.

But I do love a good challenge.

So, the first thing we need to do

is get all the dents out.

- Sand it down.

- Time to use this b*tch.

And layer on some clear coat

so we have a smooth hood.

Shayna has this hood prepped and polished.

She ran through it as fast

as possible, which is important,

because molds are expensive to make

and time-consuming.

So I don't want to have any f-ups,

and that's why I'm taking my time

but rushing as fast as I can.

Okay, carbon fiber hoods 101.

Here's the 1,000-step process

boiled down into

three easily digestible steps.

Step one. We take the sealed hood

and cast a mold of it

using a bunch of toxic chemicals.

Step two.

We say adios to the original hood,

lay top-of-the-line carbon fiber

into the mold

and inject it with epoxy resin

and wait for it to cure.

Step three.

We pop the carbon fiber hood

out of the mold,

spray on one last layer of clear coat.

And voilà. Kevin has himself

a world-class carbon fiber hood.

Sound easy? Well, it isn't.

Let's go over some of the things

we're working with.

Tooling gel coat,

which is a heavy epoxy base.

Not something you'd want to breathe in.

Acetone. You're familiar with acetone.

Glass-filled epoxy as well.

Epoxy's a glue.

It will bond to it,

and it will destroy the mold.

So, no pressure.

Next we're gonna paint the hood

with the tooling gel coat

that's made up of a two-to-one ratio

Epoxy is

a high tensile strength glue.

Fundamentally, it is a two-part plastic,

the mold is structurally sound.

We need the reinforcement to give

I'm gonna go have a brain aneurysm

on this side. Don't eat near my mold.

Our mold is clean,

and it is beautiful.

And it kind of gives us a good basis

of its cross directional, so about 51.

We'll cut 52.

We're set

to lay in our carbon fiber.

So this is a 12 pattern.

It's got a 45 2-up, 45 to the right,

but it's gonna be a 19-ounce twill carbon.

- So it's kind of an exotic material.

- Really?

We're gonna be doing something

that isn't seen very often.

I like this, though.

This is gonna be a statement piece.

He's gonna park next to

a Bimmer or a Lamborghini,

and they're gonna be like,

"Man, I wish I was like that guy."

Okay. We want it to go 45 to the right,

so that's this way.

You don't know how excited I am.

Always wanted to see this.

I try and kind of massage this out.

Just like someone had a hard day.

Just give them a back rub.

I mean, it all looks pretty good so far.

We just really want to secure

So we'll do this half.

Just gotta keep it right there. Hold it.

This is gonna be so cool.

This is gonna be dope.

Now I'm getting excited.

I'm gonna trim this and throw

a couple more layers of carbon down

because one is great,

but several is greater.

Next, we'll cover the layers

of carbon fiber with a plastic bag

and use a powerful vacuum

that sucks all the air out of the bag.

When you have a mold this large

that was put together this quickly,

you can have a mold leak.

That's a pinhole in the mold somewhere.

So I'm just going through

and just verifying I got an airtight seal.

Once I'm satisfied

that the bag is airtight,

we're ready to add the epoxy.

- Just dump it in?

- Yup, inside.

All right.

No, no, no. Put the bucket inside.

Put the bucket inside.

- Okay.

- Yes, yes, yes.

The epoxy goes in this vacuum chamber,

which, you guessed it,

will remove all the air from the resin.

So air is the enemy in,

like, this whole process.

Oh God, yeah.

Air is Air is absolutely evil.

You're essentially taking

liquid plastic and epoxy,

and you're forcing it into

every square micron of the composite part.

So you get a really dense,

really strong part using science.

This process is very difficult.

With all the technicalities, you can fail.

And I don't do well with failure.

Are we going for the whole?

All of it?

The whole shebang.

It's all gotta come off.

Hopefully it pops right out.

There's a 50% likelihood of that.

So what's the other 50%?
