At first, I was kind of fine,

anything was wrong with me.

Until I went back in there

I just felt like it was out of whack.

My head was hurting, I'm nauseous.

I knew something wasn't right.

Was I scared? Yeah.

Cause, I mean, I didn't know what it was.

It was the first concussion I've ever had.

I had never felt nothing like that.

you don't know what to expect in that,

because each person is different, right?

You know, we're talking about,

you know, a head injury.

It looked to me like an injury

that somebody was not going

to be coming back from quickly.

Jayden's Heisman chances are gone.

So it will be interesting

to look at this team

to see how they respond

with three more games

and all of their major goals

off the table. That's a shame.

After NIL started, there was a whole new

plethora of eyes that were on me, so,

I just didn't know what to do. And it was

really hard with body image for a while.

I had a hard time balancing, you know,

if I should fuel my body like a model,

if I should fuel my body like an athlete.

People like certain content from me.

I would consider myself kind of funny.

But like, people don't want

to see me being funny,

people just want to see me

doing my gymnastics and my lifestyle

because I've already created

this brand with what works. [laughs]

is what's the difference

in an NIL deal and a social media deal.

There's not.

They're influencers now.

But some of the misconceptions of NIL

is that it's always about the star student

athlete or the starter, if you will.

And it's not.

I was making content before

a little bit of a following

when TikTok kind of became a thing.

And that's kind of what made me realize,

like, okay, I can really

make a name for myself.

My entrepreneur side

has definitely come from my dad.

My family did well, but my parents

weren't just giving me handouts.

My dad was like, you want that? Buy it.

You know? Do what you got to do.

Go get it.

So I started a lawn mowing company

with some of my high school friends.

We started taking our shirts off when

we were mowing just because it was hot.

And I remember we started calling

ourselves the Lawn Daddies. [laughs]

And so we started growing.

Some of, like, the freshman girls,

like their parents, will hear about us,

and like to come hire us,

strictly so we take off our shirts,

so we're out there mowing,

like, embarrass their daughters and stuff.

So it kind of became like a little joke.

But we made good money.

Once I got into college,

it was after my freshman year,

someone came in and gave, like,

a PowerPoint presentation and like,

"Hey, there's this new thing,

it's called NIL."

Y'all about to get paid.

you know, a commodity that people want.

like, what's trending,

like what's going to get me views

because now I can get paid.

Now it's like $25,000

for a post, things like that.

It's like, man, if I do four of these,

I'm making six figures, like,

just to make a couple of videos?

That's when everything changed.

The NIL, it jumped, like, to a whole

'nother level that I couldn't imagine.

Her first comment says

"Thank you for your commitment to women's

college basketball all these years."

Question is,

"How is the continuing NIL roller coaster

- impacting your job as a coach?"

- I don't have any problem with it.

I think we were reluctant to accept it,

initially because of worrying

about locker room issues,

- certain kids making more money.

- [Wright] But in a lot of ways,

I feel like they're having

to make stuff up as we go along.

This is new for all of us.

Absolutely. Now, you also have,

like Angel and Flau'jae and those kids,

they have their own

NIL deals away from LSU,

But it's not something

that is affecting our team.

[Wright] I know obviously there was

a lot of attention on the program,

but it just feels like

with that championship,

how there's just

it's like elevated so much.

[Mulkey] A lot of that is your social

media, a lot of that is your NIL deals.

It's I still say

I get to coach, really, celebrities,

little kids, and even grown ups, drive

hours just to come get close to them.

It's been like that all year.

[Johnson] We need to find a session.

If we don't find a session,

we can't do the jingle.

If we can't do the jingle

We don't get paid.

[Kilo]

I've been building my brand

since I was seven years old from music.

centered around social media.

If you're not on social media,

[Johnson]

People want to beat us more now

because of everything

that we have going on.

because of, you know,

social media, our presence.

[Reese] A lot of people can say,

"She's too focused on NIL.

She's too focused on this, that, and a

third." But I know what I'm focused on.

that have never been a college athlete,

those people don't know anything.
