[Elliot] There it is.

The monstrous

six-legged craboraptor.

Lieutenant Elliot,

it's up to you.

Aye aye, sir, immediately.

Hey, where are you going?

Oh, heck.

Oh, no.

[cheering / laughter]

And can you do this?

Whoa, a giant fish!

Faster, you're way too slow!

[they laugh]

Whoa! What was that?

Rikki, are you crazy swimming

so close to the surface?

How many times

do we have to tell you?

OK already. Take it easy.

Come on, Bernie is waiting

for us to play hide and seek.

Let's have a look at this.

Whoa!

Look out, Bernie,

here we come!

[clattering / Bernie screams]

[Cleo]

Well, it's definitely cracked.

We'll have to put on a splint.

I've got an idea.

There you go. This will stop

your pincer from moving

until it's better again.

Why do these things

always happen to me?

Oh! How am I going

to feed myself now?

For now, just stay put.

We'll come back with some food

- as soon as we can, OK?

- OK.

Are you kidding me? Everybody

has heard of nanotechnology.

Nanotechnology is

the very future of science,

- which is to say...

- Wow, what's that?

Looks like you're

a fan of sea monsters.

Ever since he read about the

Loch Ness monster last week.

This isn't

the Loch Ness monster.

This is the monster

I saw in the bay yesterday.

You know that monsters

don't really exist, right?

They're just stories.

Well, this one does

because I saw it.

I saw its tail

coming out of the water

when I was fishing for crabs

on the seawall.

Hi there.

How's it going, Elliot?

My sister isn't in.

Good, because it's you

I've come to see.

I wanted to hear more about

the monster you saw

in the bay.

They're just stories.

Monsters don't really exist.

I know that's not

what you really think,

and neither do I. I believe you,

so why don't you tell me

everything?

[Abby] According to Elliot,

the creature's tail

was glittering and golden

and mostly red.

I don't know what to tell you.

No known marine creature

fits that description.

Are you sure he wasn't

making up stories?

And does this look

made up to you?

It's the photo that Elliot took.

So what do you think it is?

Well, I can't say for sure,

but if it is an unknown species

it would be a major discovery.

[squeals] So you think

it's a new species!

Now, hold on. I didn't say that.

We need to gather

reliable evidence,

conduct observations

and then we'll see.

[Emma] What do you want us

to do with that?

It isn't for you.

It's for Bernie.

Look, it's an artificial claw.

[laughs]

- Brilliant, no?

- Hmm...

Oh, super! So now you're

manufacturing prosthetics

for crustaceans? OK, we're off.

So long, Lewis.

And what's wrong with that?

It's a special food mixture

just for crabs.

Jeff says it's perfect

for hermit crabs.

Do you think he'll like it?

[Emma] Well, he's gonna be

pretty hungry

and beggars can't be choosers,

right?

[Mr. Lambert] Hey, Cleo!

Hey! [chuckles breathlessly]

Hi there, girls.

Going for a swim?

Uh, no. We're just here...

We're just there to...

Oh, we just came down here

to hang out.

Spend a little time yacking.

And you?

I'm hoping to get a look at that

creature your brother spotted.

He did speak to you about it,

Emma?

Well, yes, at least sort of.

But you know, you can't

really take him seriously.

He tells some

pretty wild stories.

Maybe, but this time

we might be dealing with

a totally unknown species.

[Rikki] Girls, I forgot

my jacket at the Juicy bar.

Mind if we go back?

Goodbye, Mr. Lambert.

[Emma] So long.

Goodbye... Hmm?

Oh, I'm so hungry.

What's keeping them?

[Rikki] Lewis!

We have a problem!

You'll never believe it.

If it's about the discovery

of a sea monster I would.

- How did you know?

- Look.

[Emma] "The mystery creature

of Dolphin City?"

[whines]

OK, come on, Bernie.

It's time to be brave

and go for it.

[yells] Oh, no.

What about Bernie? We promised

to bring him some food.

Bernie will be alright. I'm sure

he'll find someone else to help.

Cleo, we don't have a choice.

What else can we do?

We can't take the risk

of being spotted right now.

Don't worry, Cleo. Mr. Lambert

won't spend the rest of his life

glued to to his binoculars.

Once he realizes there are

no monsters he'll drop it.

Listen, I saw the photo

like everyone else.

I want to know

what's happening.

Could this creature be

a kind of Loch Ness monster?

Loch Ness... I don't...

Could it be

some kind of prehistoric animal

- or an amphibian dinosaur?

- A dinosaur?

No, no, look.

It's much too soon to say.

We've got to investigate it

scientifically.

Or a giant mutant fish.

Double darn, I can't believe it.

They dropped me

like an old calm.

Here I am all alone

dying of hunger

and they simply

couldn't care less.

[Murray] Hey, Bernie.

What are you doing running

around in circles like an idiot?

Give me a break.

I'm waiting for the mermaids.

Oh, you're waiting

for the mermaids.

Guys, did you hear that?

He's waiting for the mermaids.

They don't seem to be in any

rush, my poor little shrimp.

I'm not a shrimp!

Shrimpy, shrimpy, shrimpy.

The mermaids aren't coming.

To them, you are just

a dime a dozen shellfish.

- [Bernie] No, but...

- [all laugh]

[radio alarm] What do we know

about this creature so far?

[man 2] We know for certain

that it isn't any known

marine species.

[man 1] So where does

that leave us?

[man 2] Well, this creature

could wind up

being the greatest mystery

since the Loch Ness monster.

We have every reason

to believe...

- Cleo!

- ...that the creature

will appear again

in the coming days.

More about

that mysterious sea creature?

That's all everyone's

been talking about.

Do you think it's true?

Well, as long as it

brings in the tourists,

the mayor will be sure

to keep the story alive.

It's the mysterious creature.

- Thanks.

Hey, girls, look at this.

[all gasp]

Apparently,

it isn't just Mr. Lambert

who's interested in me,

or at least in the creature.

[Lewis] Even Abby is here.

[groans] Enough is enough.

We've got to do something.

Face it, Bernie,

the girls have forgotten you.

So stop wasting your time.

They're not coming.

Mind your own business, Murray!

Listen, I'll make you

a proposition.

You join the Vandal g*ng

and that way you'll be

under our protection.

Me join the Vandals? Never!

OK, fine. If that's how you want

it then you are on your own.

[all gasp]

Hey, ph-photographers!

You think they're here for me?

I'm a st-star again!

Hey, guys, whoa, I'm over here!

[laughs]

[divers scream / Dany stammers]

Murray, what are you doing?

Idiot. They're not here

to take photographs

of a has-been octopus.

Look at all those boats!

Can't you smell

that smell of danger?

No. I don't smell nothing.

We need reinforcements.

We need backup!

Come on, let's move it,

you two.

We need a lookout

for the g*ng.

We need Bernie.

He knows everybody.

He'll tell us what's going on.

See?

- No.

- Just follow me

and do what I tell you to do!

Bernie?

But what are you doing?

You can't eat that.

But, Bernie,

it's made of rubber.

I know,

but it tastes pretty good.

Ow! Ow! Oh, double ow!

Oh, my gosh.

Oh! Oh, stupid rubber cookie.

OK, it's true, it's disgusting.

But I'm dying of hunger here.

They've dumped me, Zita.

The ingratitude. I've always

been there for them.

It's OK, Bernie, don't panic.

I'm here for you.

I can help out.

I can bring you something

to eat. I'll be right back.

How are you gonna

bring me back anything?

- You have no paws or claws.

- Oh, that's right.

OK, now I'm totally

fed up waiting.

Come on. Let's go get them.

[Bernie screams]

Ease up, careful!

Stop wiggling so much, Zita.

[chuckles] That's a good one.

In case you hadn't noticed,

I'm an eel.

If I don't wiggle, I sink.

- [screams]

- Bernie?

Oh, brother,

you go on alone.

I'll just slow you down

with this wonky pincer.

- Are you sure?

- Yeah. You go.

Find the girls

and tell them I need them.

Got it!

Now what in the world

could this be?

[screams] How horrible!

It's disgusting!

[screams] How horrible!

It's disgusting!

If your kid brother wasn't such

a fan of the Loch Ness monster

none of this would've happened.

I don't believe this.

If you weren't pirouetting

near the surface

none of this

would have happened.

[Cleo] Who cares who's to blame?

Bernie is still down there

with an injured claw.

So we've got to find a solution.

I've got it! Here's an idea.

What if we built a fake monster?

The reason the Loch Ness

monster is so famous

is because of a hoax.

The photo that made it famous

was of a fake monster.

- Yeah? So?

- We'll do the exact same thing.

We'll build a fake monster.

I can tinker around

with my mini submarine.

But how will that help us?

We launch it in the bay

and we make sure

somebody finds it.

When they see that

it's a fake monster,

they'll conclude that

the whole thing was just a hoax.

[Cleo] Good idea, Lewis.

It'll never work.

Nobody will believe it.

Yes, they will. It's brilliant.

It'll put an end to

this whole creature story

once and for all.

[man] Look at that eel!

[hums]

Look what I found

in a little store downtown.

It's to cover the tail.

Won't it be great?

Hmm? [seethes]

I know your real tail

is cuter than that,

but this is all I could find

that kind of matches it.

I went to every store in town.

Good. OK.

Right, let's get busy.

First a few quick notes

on the workshop rules.

Relax, Lewis,

we won't break anything.

No, of course you won't.

Still, a quick refresher

on the workshop rules.

First, these shelves are

hands off. Just steer clear.

As to this one, in time,

you'll be permitted to use it.

Or on second thoughts,

maybe you better not.

[yelps] No, no!

Don't touch that. Or that!

Don't touch anything. Oh, my...

Alright, so let's see

what's down here.

- What's this?

- [screams]

Ahoy! How's the water?

[laughs]

You put on your scariest look

and you give him

the fright of his life.

- You got that?

- But I don't...

- Got it?

- Got it.

Oh, there he is.

[both scream]

Oh, no. Help!

- OK, let's go.

- [Bernie] Help me!

Hey, you, leave him alone.

[Vandals laugh]

Hang on, B-B-Bernie,

we'll protect you.

So, do you still believe

we're the bad guys?

[Bernie] Well...

If you were in our g*ng,

you'd never have to worry.

But, hey, it's your call.

Hey, hang on a sec.

OK, so maybe

I could give it a try.

It was a very bizarre machine,

like a mechanical snake

with one big eye inside.

I saw it, too. It was scary.

I've never seen anything

like it before ever.

And all those boats that keep

coming and going around the bay.

If you want my opinion,

something strange is going on.

They've come to see us,

obviously.

Because we're stars.

Everybody wants

to watch our acrobatics.

[both cheer]

Oh, be careful!

Hey! I don't believe this.

Be sure to allow

a margin for error.

Don't worry,

everything will be fine.

[Cleo] Oh, no!

OK, let's recap. There's

a total weight of 11.57kg

on a circumference of 1.8m.

Bearing Archimedes' principle

in mind...

[Emma] If you mess up

there won't be enough.

I won't mess it up. You could

try trusting me for a change

instead of criticizing me.

Do things right

and I'll trust you.

Ugh! Now I've heard everything.

[Lewis] Bearing in mind

Archimedes' principle...

Huh? Sorry.

- Enough!

- [all gasp]

I need to concentrate and

you guys won't stop bickering.

- Leave it, I'll do it.

- No way.

- Give it to me.

- No, let me do it.

I don't believe it.

This is nuts.

OK, that's it. Everybody out.

Out! I'll finish it myself.

So, what should we do now?

What a temper. I can't believe

he threw us out like that.

The problem is Lewis always

has to do it his own way.

He doesn't know

how to work in a team.

[Cleo] Just like

someone else I know. Hmm.

Think Lewis will be able

to manage it by himself?

It's been a while. Bernie must

be wondering what's going on.

Don't worry. You know Lewis.

He's so stubborn

he'll stay locked up in his

garage until he's finished.

Alright, all done.

At least from a distance

it'll do.

Oh, no, you've got to be

kidding.

The one time I needed the boat.

- Who are we?

- [all] The Vandals.

- So what are we scared of?

- Nothing!

N-N-Nothing!

We're a heck of a team,

right, Bernie?

- [Bernie] Yeah.

- Now there's four of us,

no one can stop us!

[boy] Hey!

Are we setting up here?

- Did you see anything?

- No, nothing yet.

Whoa! [yells]

Ow, ow, ow, ow.

Oh, no, my remote control.

No, wait! Oh, no.

Bernie, you there? Bernie?

Since you're new, we're gonna

teach you our favorite game.

A game? Fantastic,

I love playing games!

We choose someone at random

and scare the living heck

out of them.

- It's a scream.

- You scare them just for fun?

- How's that funny?

- Look, that's how it is.

If you want to be part of the

g*ng, you don't have any choice.

I don't believe it. [struggles]

The tide is rising.

There's some people. Hello?

Over here! Help!

Over here! I need help!

Think we have a chance

of seeing it?

For sure. This is where

it was spotted.

I've got an idea.

Come on, girls.

Please be nearby.

OK, there's Ziggy.

Go for it, Bernie.

- Scare him!

- Aw. But I don't want to.

And besides, it's stupid.

Ziggy knows me.

- How can he be scared of me?

- [thuds]

Did you hear that?

It came from over there.

Oh, Lewis, it looks like

he's in trouble!

Quick, it's Lewis.

We've got to help him.

Lewis? Lewis who? Who cares?

Do we look like

a search and rescue team?

No, we're the Vandal g*ng.

But he's in danger.

We've got to warn the girls.

Enough about the mermaids. We

don't care. Make up your mind.

It's us or them.

But if it's them,

then say goodbye to the g*ng

and our protection.

If I can't help my friends

when they need me

then I'd rather be alone.

I don't know why I ever

listened to you,

or ever doubted the girls.

So goodbye!

You don't want to be

part of the g*ng

then it's your loss, chump.

[sighs]

I can't go much further.

Zita!

Zita!

Hey!

Woo-hoo!

Hey! [yells]

[girls gasp / Bernie chuckles]

[all] Bernie!

Let's head to the dock. We can

get to the sea from there.

Are you crazy? With all the

boats in the bay and divers

we'd be spotted

in less than a minute.

Forget it. There's no time.

We've got to jump

over the seawall here.

Cleo, do something

to attract their attention.

OK, Emma, freeze it now.

Your turn, Rikki.

Whoa, look over there.

That's it!

Someone help!

[Rikki] There he is!

[Rikki struggles / Lewis yells]

You OK, Lewis?

And this sonar will allow us

to detect the monster,

wherever it is.

And now Mr. Lambert

will acquaint you

- Strange-looking monster.

- It's a fake.

How about that.

Mr. Mayor, you would seem

to be the victim of a hoax.

Any comment?

Come on, we'd never have

Here, a little gift to say we're

Oh! My favorites. Thanks, girls.

I'm sorry to have ever

doubted you.

- You guys are real friends.
