a stage,

and all the toys and kids
are merely players.

However, I did not
ask you all here today

to play around.

Today it is time for
another med school lesson.

A lesson in diagnosis.

You make a diagnosis
when you examine a patient

and figure out
what's wrong with them.

To make a proper diagnosis,

you must ask your patient
the proper questions,

and you must look at
all the symptoms, or clues,

the patient shows you.

To help you practice,
I've asked some of the students

from Ooey Gablooey's
acting class

to help us by pretending
to be hurt or sick.

May I present
the first patient?

[ whistling ]

What is this?
A puddle?

Here on my boat?

Oh, well, Saltwater Serge
is not afraid of the water.

[ yells ]

Ow!Sacre bleu!

It gives me much owies.

Now who would care
to make a diagnosis?

I bet he's seasick.

I'd definitely be
seasick if I was on a boat.

Hey, Saltwater Serge
never gets seasick.

Well, he fell down
with flippers on his feet,

so I bet he's got
a case of the flippy
trippy flippers.

Uh, Serge, where do you
have "ze owies"?

Oh, they are in
my arm.

To make a proper diagnosis,

you should've asked Serge
where it hurts.

Then you could
examine his arm,

and see what's
wrong with it.

- STUFFY: Bravo!
- DOC: Great job, Serge.

Sorry, Doc. We'll do better
with the next patient.

[ Lambie gasps ]
Oh, it's Melinda Mermaid!

Oh, look.
Pretty sea flowers.

I bet they smell
as pretty as they look.

[ sniffs deeply ]

[ sneezes ]

Does anyone have
a diagnosis for Melinda?

My diagnosis is that
she has

Being A Baa-eautiful, Amazing
Mermaid Syndrome.

Oh, thank you, Lamb-ily Lou.

She is beautiful,
and amazing,

but you missed
a symptom.

[ sniffing deeply
and sneezing ]

CHILLY: She's sneezing.

I'm pretty sure that's
because she doesn't have
a carrot for a nose.

[ giggles ]
Chilly.

Only snowmen have
carrot noses.

Oh. [ laughs ]
Right.

I believe you have
overlooked something.

Melinda started sneezing

right after she sniffed
the flowers.

A good doctor would
check to see

if she's allergic
to the flowers.

Looking at
a patient's symptoms

and making a proper diagnosis

is a very important part
of being a doctor.

I don't think we have
this diagnosis thing down yet.

We wanna become doctors,
like Doc.

It takes a lot
of practice,

but you'll get it,
I know you will.

And what if we
don't get it?

Don't worry. If you
keep trying and keep practicing,

I know you can do it.

[ gasps ]

[ nervous giggle ]

It's like all my fur

only one thing

that makes you itch
at the beach.

skritchy sand spiders.

Wait a second.
Did I just say
skritchy sand spiders?

That makes me scared,

because I remembered that
I'm afraid of spiders!

[ shrieking ]

Get 'em off me!

You two better settle
your soup sippers.

Stuffy, Gloria,
calm down.

There's no such thing
as skritchy sand spiders.

- You sure?
- Yes, I'm sure.

Hallie, could you hand me
my magnifying glass?

I wanna take
a closer look
at Gloria's fur.

You got it, Doc.

Aha.

Just as I suspected.

There's sand
in your fur.

Gloria, I have
a diagnosis.

With Doc on the job,
I think we're finally ready

for the Big Book
of Boo-boos.

Gloria, when you went
to Sandbox Beach,

you got sand in your fur.

That's what's
making you itch.

You have a case of
sand scratchies.

Oh, what should I do, Doc?

My prescription
is that you take a bath.

That should get
the sand out of your fur.

Come on, sugar.
We've got a nice bath
right here in the hospital.

Doc, we couldn't
figure out
the diagnosis again.

And if we don't learn
to make a diagnosis,

we'll never learn
to be good doctors
like Doc.

I have a really scratchy
feeling in my throat.

Ever since Gloria Gorilla

in sand

when she came to
the hospital.

What if the sand from
Gloria's fur

got in Peaches Pie's
throat?

And that's what's
making her cough.

Could you say ah for me?

Ah!

Yep. Looks like you got
some sand in there.

Peaches Pie, we have
a diagnosis.

You have a case of
the scratchy sand coughy-coughs.

What should I do?
[ coughs ]

Here. This water
should help wash

some of the sand
out of your throat.

How's that feel?

That feels lots better.

Great! Now, let's get you
to Doc.

When she gets out of surgery,
she can give you a check-up.

To make sure we got
your diagnosis right.

Say ahhh.

- Ah!
- STUFFY: Well, Doc,
what do you think?

You were right.

Peaches Pie did have
sand in her throat.

And that did give her a case of
the scratchy sand coughy-coughs.

- You made a proper
diagnosis.
- Yes!

Peaches, rinse your throat
with some more water.

That should wash out any sand
that's still left in there.

Thanks, Doc. That really
feels a lot better.

I wouldn't have known
what to do

if you hadn't made
that diagnosis.

Mm-hmm. Ooey Gablooey
was brought to the hospital

with a case of
stretch arm-atude.

[ groans ]

Ooey, since your arm
is stretched out,

you'll need to stay
in the hospital this afternoon,

while we shrink it
back to normal size.

Is it that bad?

I've fixed a lot of stretchy
arms just like this one.

You're in good hands, Ooey.

And, might I add,

your top hat
and goggles

are quite
the smashing combination.

They're brand-new.

I bought them for
the big show at
the theater tonight.

Maybe her battery
isn't working.

so I had her brought here
to the battery charging wing.

to our battery monitor.

[ beeping ]

which is just like what kids use
