Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words (2024)

Post by bunniefuu »

[airplane engines whooshing]

I'm tired.

I just want to get

to my destination.

Farris dragging me

all around the world.

- [Farris laughs]

- [laughs]

I look like poop right now,

but I had to get up at--

Or actually, let me not even say I had

to get up, 'cause I never went to sleep.

I had to be up at 1:00 in

the morning, maybe 2:00,

for glam so I can

come to Guadalajara.

I've decided that

I am going to cancel all of my shows,

my performances, um... [clicks tongue]

...any obligations that I had,

because I feel like I finally have

reached a breaking point where

I'm genuinely tired

and I don't want to do it.

Like, I'm not having fun

right now, and I feel like:

How can I be Megan Thee

Stallion and I'm not having fun?

Like, I feel like I'm always on the

verge of some type of breakdown.

And I'm just tired.

And I really feel numb.

And I know a lot of the sh*t that happens

to me just seems like this is just--

this can't be true or this sh*t

just seem like a f*cking movie,

but this is, like, my real life.

And this sh*t is like a movie.

And it's time for that

part in the movie where

I get up off my a*s and

I do something about it.

[gentle music playing]

[indistinct chatter]

[warm-up coach] So

we're gonna warm up.

[Megan] I feel like

I have always been

building Megan Thee Stallion.

I've been through so much,

I feel like it's always

some kind of target on me.

[reporter] It's displays

of blatant nudity

and sexualization that is keeping

women down in this society.

Ah!

[interviewer] There's a

power to women, huh?

[Megan] I'm empowering women

and I'm empowering the

men who want strong women.

[interviewer] Yeah.

[Megan] My body, my choice!

[crowd] "My body, my choice!"

[cheering]

[Megan] I always

have to protect myself.

[reporter 2] There's a side of

people who are just disturbed

by a Black woman who

dares to be so self-possessed.

[officer] Hold your hands up!

[reporter 3] The hip-hop

star Megan Thee Stallion,

says she was the

victim of a sh**ting.

[whimpers]

[reporter 4] If everything

goes as expected,

Megan Thee Stallion will testify

in the trial of the man

who allegedly shot her.

[Megan] I had to

create this armor.

- [cheering]

- [crowd chanting] Megan, Megan, Megan!

[Megan] Hey, if

you love your body,

let me hear you make

some m*therf*cking noise.

- [cheering]

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "Body"]

And if the beat live,

you know Lil Ju made it

Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

- Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

- Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

- Body-ody-ody-ody...

- [Megan] What's up?

It's Megan Thee Stallion,

aka the Hot Girl Coach.

Can y'all hear

me? Can y'all hear?

Hey!

I just wanted to give my

Hotties a little something.

Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody...

[Megan] Real

m*therf*cking hot girl sh*t.

[fan] Real hot girl sh*t!

Look at how I bodied that

Ate it up and

gave it back...

[Stephen Colbert] The first woman

with three streaming number one songs

in one year.

One of TIME 100's

most influential people.

Ate it with the panties on

I could build a house with

all the brick I got, yeah...

And the Grammy

for Best Rap Song...

Megan Thee Stallion.

Thank you!

All them b*tches scary cats,

I call 'em Carole Baskins, ah

Body-ody-ody-ody-ody...

[fan 2] She empowers women

to be confident about

themselves and their body.

She just inspired me to

be the baddest b*tch ever.

Megan is a "baaaaa..."

We love you, Megan!

- Ah!

- Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody,

ah

Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

- Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody

- [crowd chanting] Megan! Megan!

I think Megan Thee Stallion

is trying to protect Megan Pete.

[interviewer] What is

she trying to protect?

I have no idea.

You still feel like you're figuring

out who Megan Pete is in real time?

- [cheering]

- [intense music playing]

["Pomp and Circumstance"]

[scattered shouts, cheering]

[announcer

speaking indistinctly]

[Megan] This is why,

if I'm ever late,

when I'm late...

Me.

This is why.

'Cause you see now, all of a sudden,

he want to re-curl the whole head.

It's probably five people before

me right now that they about to call.

- [Kellon] It's you now?

- [indistinct announcement]

Ah, that ain't me.

- Ah, sh*t.

- Ha!

b*tch, it's over.

Oh, my God, me and

Kellon be scrambling.

b*tch, I always say half to

the front, half to the back.

- Yeah. To the front.

- [laughs]

I love it.

Thank y'all for making

me too beautiful today.

- Caps on right now.

- Oh, that's it. Caps on. Okay.

I do a million shows

and I'm still nervous.

[Kellon] You know what I mean?

[announcer] Anjay Pevross.

[crowd cheering]

- Megan Pete.

- [cheering]

[Megan Thee Stallion:

"Last Week in H Tx"]

Last week we was eatin'

Peanut butter jelly, damn

Then I hit a lick now we

countin' Benjamellys, okay

Met him in the telly

Doin' whatever he let me

I got love for my n*gga Like

I'm Tionne off of Belly, mwah

Everybody thinkin'

Bad b*tches got it easy

Well, not the young ones

On the grind gettin' greazy

Last week, I had to make

A hunnid dollars stretch

Every motherfuckin' night I

was eatin' cheese eggs, okay...

Okay, we out here. We graduated!

[overlapping chatter]

[song fades]

[cork pops]

- [overlapping chatter, laughter]

- Yeah!

[whooping]

We could've had like-- You know, just

pretend like it was something in there.

- Yeah.

- [laughter]

[team member] It's a

real hot girl, right here.

[Megan] Okay.

[team] Yay.

- [Megan] It's so pretty.

- Ain't it gorgeous?

- [Megan] Thank you.

- You're welcome.

[cheering]

- [person] Real hot girl sh*t!

- [cheering]

- We love you. Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

- You got me up here crying.

It's not-- It's

happy. It's happy.

Let's get the champagne.

Here, we gonna do it. [laughs]

[gentle, wistful music playing]

- So pretty.

- [camera clicks]

[laughs]

Love. Congrats.

[Megan] I feel very

accomplished, getting my degree...

but I wish my mom

was here to see it.

Coming back to Houston,

I think about my mom,

I think about my grandma,

I think about my dad,

I think about just loss.

They make me sad to go home.

But I wouldn't be

here without my mom.

- [Lil' Keke: "South Side"]

- Welcome to the, uh, South Side

No, uh-uh, I said The

South Side of H-Town

You gotta peep game You

know what I'm sayin', 'cause, um

That's why we doin' the, uh,

South Side, The South Side, yeah

The South Side, The South

Side, everybody do the...

[Megan] Music has

always been in my life.

The South Side, yeah...

My mama was, like,

a gangsta rapper.

She could go toe to toe

with the boys for real, for real.

South Side,

the South Side...

And she would just be playing

instrumentals over and over,

rapping to herself,

freestyling to herself.

I see her writing when she get

ready for work in the morning,

me getting ready for school.

[Young Megan gasps]

She was so f*cking

thick and curvy.

Like, she just looked so good.

I was like, my mama is

really the baddest b*tch.

Like, when I get older, I

really want to be like her.

She was like everything I

feel like a strong woman is.

I only hung around my mama,

my grandmothers-- grown women.

So I had only ever heard, "Oh,

my gosh, you're so beautiful.

Y-You're amazing. You can

do whatever you want to do.

Oh, my gosh, you're tall.

You got model height."

- [children chattering, laughing]

- [school bell rings]

But when I got older,

I was, like, the

tallest girl in the class.

[overlapping chatter]

And I would go to school

and I would hear kids

picking on me for being tall.

[children laughing]

[Young Megan crying]

But I was a little

crybaby. [scoffs]

You could say one thing I

don't like, I'm in shambles.

And I was like, "Mama,

what should I do?"

- [crying]

- She was like,

"Stop all that damn crying.

You have to demand

your respect."

So that's how I went

into every situation.

I wasn't giving nobody

no time to play with me.

[gentle music playing]

[door creaks open]

[Young Megan gasps]

My daddy was in jail for, like, the

first seven to eight years of my life.

But when he got out of jail,

we were just inseparable.

And he just gave

me so much game.

Everything was like a rhyme.

He would be like, "Man,

everything that grin ain't your friend."

That one just still sticks

with me to this day.

But when I was in the

ninth grade, he passed away.

He had a heart attack.

My mama was a wreck.

And I didn't want to cry, 'cause I

didn't want to make her more sad.

So we never really

talked about it.

I was just trying

to be strong for her.

[dramatic music plays]

And I think that's when I really

started creating Megan Thee Stallion.

I realized that when I'm rapping,

I get to pretend to be somebody

stronger than

what I actually am.

I showed my mama this video

of me rapping on YouTube.

Her initial reaction was shock.

Everything I did, I feel like I

was trying to impress my mama.

I wanted her to feel like she

could pass the torch to me.

[horse neighs]

[Megan Thee

Stallion: "Like A Stallion"]

Like a stallion

b*tch, it's moneymaking Megan,

better known as Thee Stallion

Hanging round your daddy

neck just like a damn medallion

Body so on point so I be

dressin' like I'm swimmin'

b*tches get offended,

can't handle all this pimpin'

I didn't have a

care in the world.

Like, I would be in

class writing music.

I'd play a beat for my mama

and she would be

rapping, so I would go home

and, like, try to

outdo her and then,

the next time I jump in the car with

her, I'm like, "Yeah, listen to this."

She'd be like, "Okay."

- Hottie g*ng.

- [laughter]

[Megan] She was, like, my girl.

Like, my bestie,

my number one fan.

She would record my

freestyle videos from her car.

Real-a*s big t*tties

poppin' like whoa

The sh*t jiggle different

when the sh*t homegrown

Want a real b*tch? Need

to come out to Texas

Megan from Houston

I'm naturally sexy

She didn't record like a mama.

She ain't take pics like a mama.

Like, she would get my angle,

and she would be like,

"You could do better than that.

And you can twerk

harder than that."

Once I started

posting myself rapping,

people responded

to it very well.

They like, "Megan,

you so nasty"

Girl, I could teach you

I'm just writing verses 'bout

how your n*gga should eat you

[Megan] I don't think nobody was ready

for what was about to come out my mouth.

[laughs]

[Megan] That girl look

like money. You hear me?

- Who you about to go manage?

- You.

[Megan] My mama, she was like,

"b*tch, I'm finna be your manager

and we gon' get this on the

road. We gonna make it work."

[vehicle beeping]

[indistinct chatter]

Kelsey Nicole. We on set.

Megan Thee Stallion,

Moneybagg Yo, "Make a Bag."

I'm 'bout to be serving.

That's what I do best, is serve.

- [Megan] Servin' looks and cooks.

- [laughs]

[laughs]

I have a cowboy hat.

[man] You got a copycat?

- A cowboy hat.

- Oh, a cowboy hat.

Yeah.

And I got some

booty shorts, too.

I'm gonna look like a

Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.

- [team member] Uh-oh.

- It's about to be real sexy.

Everybody like the-the

Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Yeah.

It's about to go down.

Young Tina Snow...

[Holly] Don't show 'em yet.

No, I'm telling you to

record a video of me.

Megan, I-- but I'm

doing all this other stuff.

Hold on.

[indistinct chatter]

Do we want, like, some music?

- [indistinct chatter]

- [Megan singing quietly]

- [team member] Do y'all see what that is?

- [Megan] Wait a minute. Hold on.

Now put this on for

the little bag match.

[laughs]

- Just put it on really quick.

- Okay.

We just need a little

somethin', little walk, little turn.

Some more wardrobe turns.

- Wow. Wow.

- [indistinct chatter]

[DJ Scream] So when everybody

looks back on this interview,

two, three years from now, what

are you definitely gonna accomplish

that people might

not expect right now?

Well, for sure, everybody

gonna know my name.

And, hopefully, in

two or three years,

I'm considered, you know,

one of the greatest to do it.

[quiet chatter]

Test, test, test,

test, test. Yes.

"c*ck AF."

I don't know why it's, like,

I got the perfect volume,

but my mama like, you

know, everything is this loud.

That's that you be on.

[laughter]

Copy that.

[chuckling]

[Megan Thee

Stallion: "c*ck AF"]

Hey, c*ck as f*ck

Everything 'bout me poppin'

Got face, I got body

You name it, I got it

c*ck as f*ck, you

know I'm conceited

Yo' h* wanna be me

Yo' n*gga wan' eat it

c*ck as f*ck

Everything 'bout me poppin'

Got face, I got body

You name it, I got it

c*ck as f*ck n*gga,

f*ck your opinion

I hustle to get

it I get it, I get it

It just seem awkward, right?

[Holly] Leave the hook out.

Come from the diaphragm.

You need to do this in

practice, like when you rapping.

Just go on let it go

from the stomach. Don't--

It sound like you holding your

breath. That's why you not doing it.

'Cause I've been out of

breath from the dancing...

You're so lyrical. You're

at a thousand words.

That's why I say don't try to do

your hook. Leave the hook out.

- Okay. Okay.

- Just do your verse.

- And that way you can have some wind.

- Okay.

- [Holly] You know what I'm sayin'?

- Yeah. Yeah.

[Megan] My mama, in my opinion,

was always the smartest

person in the room.

And she ain't need

nobody to tell her nothing.

She ain't need nobody

give her no advice.

I just wanted her to feel like

I learned and I'm listening

to what she's saying.

[crowd cheering]

Are you ready? I am OG

Ron C from 93.7 The Beat.

And we got, uh, great

performers for you guys.

So you guys like great music,

we got something great

for you guys tonight.

[crowd cheering]

[Megan] Anywhere I could

perform, I was performing.

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "Pull Up Late"]

- I'm Megan Thee Stallion...

if y'all ain't know. Aka the H-Town

Hottie, aka Young Tina Snow.

Look, it's five o'clock Just

touched down in the city

Tell your people,

hit my people

If you're tryna link

up with me, hello

I remember performing at bars.

It's, uh, Megan Thee

m*therf*cking Stallion.

Aka Young Tina Snow...

I would be at clubs

performing every single night.

[cheering]

Hotties say,

"Real hot girl sh*t."

- [crowd] Real hot girl sh*t!

- Real hot girl sh*t!

I mean, I just kept at it.

I wasn't gonna let nothing

stop me, 'cause I knew

rapping was what I

really wanted to do.

Like, it was what I

was passionate about.

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "Big Ole Freak"]

- [clamoring, cheering]

Ay, ay, ay

And when I released

"Big Ole Freak,"

that was like when everything

really went up for me.

[cheering]

Ay, big ole freak

Big booty, big ole treat

I'm-a make him

wait for the p*ssy

Hit it till he big

ole skeet, ay.

[Hali G] How does it feel to be

a badass female artist putting

on for the city of Houston?

This is just something that

is really blowing my mind.

Pop it, pop it

Daydreaming

'bout how I rock it

[interviewer] And now you're, like,

on the Billboard charts. It's like...

[laughs]

With this single, it's crazy.

- Everyone knows all of the words.

- Yeah, "Big Ole Freak" is crazy, yeah.

[crowd] sh*t, I'm on the way

Ride on that d*ck

I'm like, "Yay," hey

Usually I like to f*ck

But tonight we gon'

make love 'cause you bae

[KimKim] You literally just feel like a

hot girl as soon as you hear the song.

I like to uplift people,

and I think it's real cool

to see other people

uplifting people, so...

It's not just about being sexy.

It's about being

confident and me being

confident in my sexuality and

other women not being scared.

Let's be real.

Everybody's a h*. [laughs]

Everybody's a freak.

Everybody's having sex.

I just want women to feel like

we are powerful, we are in control,

we can say whatever

we want to say.

So do you ever feel like

you're an object because of this?

Well, see, men

are objects to me.

- So, like... [laughs]

- Ooh!

I want to f*ck in the mirror

I like to look at your

face when you in it

Come in the room and

I'm giving commands

I am the captain

and he the lieutenant

[Megan] I'm talking this ratchet

sh*t, I'm talking this gangsta sh*t,

like, I'm being me.

And it got such

a great response.

[crowd] I love

to talk my sh*t

And you must be a p*ssy boy

- If you get offended

- [Megan] Hey, okay.

- b*tch, it's Tina Snow

- Yeah.

- They love me 'cause I'm cold

- Yeah.

And you can't take

no n*gga from me

- You got mind control.

- I got mind control

[screaming]

This my motherfuckin' school!

[crowd chanting] Megan! Megan!

[Megan] That was

when I was my happiest.

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "Realer"]

- I am not signing for less than a mil

If you don't like it,

then f*ck how you feel

- [Megan] Let me hear that.

- That "feel" fell off.

It was one part I didn't like.

That "feel" is

"f*ck how you feel."

[Megan] Let me hear

that one more time.

[crying] I used to let her

make all my decisions.

She-She ran everything.

She was the boss.

Ay

That's a good one.

[Megan, normal] Like,

we were going so hard.

Everything was so good.

[piano playing]

[indistinct chatter]

- Come here.

- [woman vocalizing "Heart and Soul"]

- [cameraperson laughing]

- Right? Play this.

- [woman continues vocalizing]

- [playing "Heart and Soul"]

And then you change it up.

This is so high.

[cameraperson] Yeah. Come on!

Musically, it clearly has...

She gonna play this.

[Holly] And then over

here, I'll be going...

[cameraperson

laughing] Come through.

[pensive music playing]

[Megan] I remember I had

a show in L.A. the next day.

My mama, she called me and she was

like, "Man, I keep f*cking up my words."

And she was like, "I really

think something is wrong.

Like, I'm talking really slow.

I feel funny. I need

you to call 911."

- [monitor beeping]

- [siren wailing]

[crying]

I don't want to freak out 'cause

I don't want to freak her out.

It was a tumor in her brain.

And we was just

like, "Damn," like...

"How long this been

going on?" Like...

"And what does that mean?"

I-It's like she started

giving me like a-a pep talk,

like she-- like she knew something

was about to happen to her.

[thunder rumbles]

And then she started

having back-to-back seizures.

It was like she's

just not responding.

And I'm like, "What?"

Like, I'm in shambles.

And they had to,

like, put her under.

She was just, she was

just-just brain-dead, like...

So I stayed up there every day.

Like, I was spending

the night at that hospital.

I just was praying that she

could just shake back from it.

And once I realized

she wasn't coming back,

I was just like, "Damn, I

can't keep her like this."

'Cause I know she wouldn't

have wanted to stay like this.

Um...

so I had to make

the decision to...

...well, I guess, pull the plug.

And, um, she just

passed, like, the next day.

[somber music playing]

- [crying]

- [thunder rumbling]

[crowd cheering]

You got my video ready?

Huh?

[overlapping shouting]

Y'all know that 2019 has

been really tough for me.

I didn't wanna cancel

none of my shows.

[cheering]

And I didn't wanna stop going.

'Cause that's not what my

mama would want me to do.

[cheering]

I just wanted to

of me and my mama and

all the sh*t we was doing.

Up until now.

[crowd cheering, shouting]

She was my number one fan.

Through all the a*s

shakin' and cussin'.

[sobs]

I'm not gonna cry.

[gentle music playing]

[Megan] When my mama passed

away, I think I really forgot who I was.

And I lost a lot of confidence.

I was expecting somebody to

say, "I'm gonna run this for you.

Don't do that,

Megan. Don't say that.

You should rap like this.

Like, you should say it like that."

I was so used to my

mama telling me what to do,

and when life started

getting crazy, I didn't have her.

Who talkin' 'bout a boat?

[crowd cheering]

Hey, look. The Hotties

are ready to try the boat.

Okay. Yeah.

[excited chatter]

[Megan] Everybody around me is

having such a good time, they turning up.

They seem very happy, and I want

to be on the same wave as them.

[overlapping chatter]

Fire-f*cking-ball!

[crowd] Fire-f*cking-ball!

[cheering]

[woman] Damn!

[Megan] I'm trying

to be strong every day

because I know my mama

would want me to be strong.

[somber music playing]

Before she passed, she was like,

"I don't want you to

stop just 'cause I'm sick."

I just remember her saying,

"You need to go to work."

And that's what I did.

[indistinct chatter]

- We have an important announcement!

- We have an announcement for you.

[person 1] Show her!

[person 2] Show--

Show her right now.

Megan has been nominated...

For a motherfuckin' BET award!

[crowd cheering]

[Megan] After that, I just left

Houston and I just never went back.

[announcer] Give it up

for Megan Thee Stallion!

[musical air horn blows]

Thank you for having me!

And she said, "f*cking..."

Real hot girl sh*t! [laughs]

- What?

- [crew member] Stop all the cussin'.

- Don't cuss?

- You can sing it like it's a...

- Right, right, right.

- You know what I'm saying?

I ain't gonna cuss

when it's for real.

This is crazy.

This not YouTube

no more, like... we...

This ain't YouTube, b*tch.

I remember the first day we

put her first video on YouTube.

From day one, I knew

she was gonna be a star.

[hip-hop music playing]

[Dave East] And the winner is...

Megan Thee Stallion.

[cheering]

[Megan] Oh, my God. [laughs]

What?

Houston, Texas, we

in this b*tch. [laughs]

Congratulations. This

is your first VMA tonight,

your first Moon Person

for Power Anthem.

- [wild cheering]

- What?

Congratulations.

[Megan] I mean, I'm

24. I really like to work.

I'm just getting started and, you

know, y'all gonna see. [laughs]

Y'all gonna see where I

take it. So thank you so much.

- Handle me?

- Huh

- Who gon' handle me?

- Who?

Thinkin' he's a player

He's a member on the team

He put in all that work

He wanna be the MVP

I told him ain't no taming

me I love my n*gg*s equally

[interviewer] Define

what a hot girl is.

[Megan] Basically, a hot girl

is somebody who's confident,

somebody who's kind,

somebody who is the life

of the m*therf*cking party.

They just unapologetically

them. You know?

How many hot girls out

here? How many hot girls?

[crowd screaming]

- [overlapping shouting]

- Real hot girl sh*t! Real hot girl sh*t!

[JoJo Wright] You kind of will

own the summer from now on.

I literally own the

summer. It's mine.

Oh, my God!

[friend] Oh, my God!

Oh, my God, that's you!

[interviewer 2] You have

already had, like, a crazy year,

so what are some dream

collabs that you're trying to get?

Well, we gonna pray to

Jesus Christ that it happen,

but I really want to do a song

with Beyonc. [laughs] Like...

- [interviewer] Okay, yeah.

- But Beyonc...

[Ebro Darden] Megan Thee

Stallion has a remix to "Savage."

Now, you been on the

scene just a short minute,

and now you got a

collaboration with Beyonc.

She done drop a "Savage"

remix with Beyonc?

[screams]

I'm too excited right now, because

you're the GOAT right now, sis.

Bro, what is happening, bro?

- I'm a savage...

- [Megan] It was 2020.

Quarantine is happening.

Everybody's

basically in the house.

I have everybody's attention.

"Savage" is the number

one dance on TikTok.

[Megan] Yes.

I'm a savage, yeah

Classy, bougie,

ratchet, yeah

- Sassy, moody, nasty

- Hey, hey, yeah

Acting stupid,

what's happening?

- b*tch, what's happening?

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

b*tch, I'm a savage...

We got it! Holly, we did it!

We did it!

Ah, I'm a savage

- [cheering]

- Classy, bougie, rachet...

[Megan] I have a number one.

I have the number one song in

the m*therf*cking country, you b*tch.

And I just want to

tell y'all thank you.

I had just got to the

point in my career

where I'm really elevating.

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "W.A.B"]

- Weak-a*s, weak-a*s, weak-a*s b*tch

Weak as, weak

as, weak as sh*t

f*ck you and your

weak-a*s Weak-a*s friends

Don't nobody want your

man Weak-a*s d*ck, ay, uh

So don't play with me, h*

- Oh.

- [both laughing]

[Megan] Kelsey

was my best friend.

She was always around me.

- Oh, no!

- [both laughing]

[Megan] My mom had just passed.

I was on the road

and I didn't have help,

so I was like, "Well, you

could be my assistant."

Kelsey is a person that

is, like, just on her sh*t.

Like, on her business.

And she always

been like that, but...

We're making

them quit their jobs

and we're making them

professional Hotties.

Two best friends, I

envisioned it being like

the dream team.

[Kelsey] Rest in

peace, Miss Holly.

We miss you.

I can't believe it's about

to be a f*cking year.

That's why I just want to try to

make sure Megan is always good,

'cause I'm really, like,

doing what she was

doing for Megan, you know?

Breathe, damn.

Like, this-this sh*t-- I'm

really proud of you, Megan.

Like, this sh*t is deeper

than what people see.

Like, we're best friend-- No,

we're f*cking sisters, b*tch.

We're literally with

each other every day.

Like, I mean, you're,

like-- I don't know.

There's more to it than

what people see, y'all.

It really is.

[Megan] I just-- I

super appreciate you.

[laughter]

I just feel like I

wanted something.

Like, I just wanted some

friends, I wanted some family.

I was just trying to build something

that felt good all around me.

[crowd screaming, shouting]

But looking back,

it was the worst

year of my life.

[cheering]

[melancholy music playing]

When my mama passed, I

was just all over the place.

You know, I was hanging out with

everybody and their damn mama.

[indistinct chatter]

I'd just keep getting lit, thinking

I would get through this pain.

[exhales]

And Tory was one of the people

that I just started

hanging out with.

This is official shot o'clock.

This is live shots.

Shot o'clock. Shot o'clock.

To the Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion.

This is Tory Lanez

and Megathon. [laughs]

Megatron, b*tch.

Megatron.

[Megan] He had expressed to

me that his mama had passed.

We was bonding about that.

I thought we

were really friends.

[muted laughter, chatter]

But my daddy always said that

everything that grin ain't your friend.

[tense music playing]

On the night that he shot me,

I was very confused,

I was very hurt.

[Megan] Tory, don't

get my phone wet.

[hip-hop music playing]

We left to go home.

[engine starts]

I was in the car with Tory

and his driver and Kelsey.

We are all arguing.

I don't remember

exactly what I was saying,

but I knew I was talking sh*t, and

he probably was a little offended.

I tried to get out

the car one time.

"I'm over this sh*t."

He was like, "Megan, get back

in the car, get back in the car.

We almost to your house."

This boy getting so angry 'cause

his feelings was hurt by a woman.

[yelling]

Like, I know friends fight,

but I'm not thinking that

it's about to get like this.

I get out the car again.

I ain't even got sh*t on.

I just got on a swimsuit.

And I'm walking off,

and this m*therf*cker

just start hollering at me.

He was like, "Dance, b*tch."

Go!

[g*nshots]

[dramatic music playing]

[Megan panting]

[gasps]

[panting]

Tory can't even believe

he shot me at this point.

Like, he like, "Oh, my gosh,

I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry.

I apologize, I apologize."

He's like, "Megan, I swear to

God I'll get y'all a million dollars.

Please don't say nothing.

Just don't tell nobody."

I'm like, "What the f*ck are you

talking about, a million dollars?"

Like, y'all should be

focused on trying to help me.

[indistinct officer chatter]

[helicopter whirring]

[Megan] It's so many

police, it's f*cking helicopters,

and I'm f*cking shook because

George Floyd had just died.

Like, the climate with

the police right now--

they are k*lling

people left and right.

sh**t first, f*ck the questions.

So, I'm like, "We about to die."

Like, these police are

about to k*ll all of us.

[melancholy music playing]

[indistinct police

radio chatter]

They asked me what happened.

I don't want to say that

this boy just shot this g*n

because I do not want to

see him get shot and k*lled.

So I say, "Oh, I

stepped on glass."

'Cause I didn't

want nobody to die.

They take me to the hospital.

The police still questioning me.

I just want to be over this.

But then the doctor came in.

He's like, "It's b*llet

fragments in your feet."

Okay, like, I'm f*cked up.

I'm in this bed looking crazy.

I'm hurting.

He was my f*cking

friend, and I feel so dumb

because it must

have been some signs

that could have been

showing me this whole time...

something.

Like, I should have

saw something...

to knew not to

f*cking trust you.

[automated voice]

This is a free call from...

[Tory] Tory.

[automated voice]

...an inmate at LAPD jail.

[Tory] Hello?

[Kelsey] Hey.

[Tory] Y'all got out

safe and everything?

[Kelsey] Uh, Meg's still in the

hospital. I'm outside the hospital.

[Tory] I know she probably never

ever gonna talk to me ever again, but...

Bruh, I just want

you to know, bruh,

I'd never do some

sh*t like that, bruh.

I was so f*cking drunk, n*gga,

I just didn't even understand what

the f*ck was going on, bruh, like...

That's not going to make

my actions right, bro.

But I'm just deeply sorry, bruh.

I'd never even

move like that, bruh.

[Kelsey sighs] I know.

There was a lot...

There was a lot

that happened, but...

[Tory] What happened happened

already, bruh. I can't take it back.

When you get a chance, bruh,

just figure out what you gotta do

to bail me out this sh*t.

[Kelsey] Okay.

Not even, not

even two days later,

Kelsey and Tory

is, like, meeting up.

Kelsey told me this all, on

my life, he was like, "Yeah,

I just want to thank you for

not saying nothing, you know.

Let me get you some money, let me

invest in your business," blah, blah, blah.

How could you meet up privately

in a room with somebody who

was just bold enough to pull a g*n out

on your best

friend and sh**t it?

I was in that hospital

for a few days,

and I had to get the shells

removed out of my feet.

I wanted to quietly move

on from the situation.

[woman] Dennis!

[indistinct chatter]

- Hi, hi, hi!

- He knows her.

[Megan] I had to just keep busy

so I didn't sink into a dark place.

How about-- how

do these steps feel?

Where am I going?

I'm already there.

[Megan] I felt so sorry for myself

because I was like, this is the end.

I am not gonna be able to dance no

more, I'm not gonna be able to have

"Megan Thee Stallion knees" 'cause I

don't got Megan Thee Stallion ankles.

My m*therf*cking

feet hurt, b*tch.

But we here.

Mentally, I was like, "I'm not

about to let this f*ck me up."

A man is not gonna

be my downfall.

[Dennis] Left, left,

here we go, open.

Now a little, ooh,

in Hollywood...

[Cardi B featuring

Megan Thee Stallion: "WAP"]

wh*res in this house There's

some wh*res in this house

[Megan] And then "WAP" came out.

There's some

wh*res in this house

I said certified freak,

seven days a week

Wet-a*s p*ssy

- Make that pullout game weak

- Ah

[crowd] Yeah,

yeah, yeah, yeah...

[Cardi B] "Billboard Hot

100," y'all know what?

"WAP" debuts, 93

million U.S. streams,

the most for a song in

opening week in history.

Thank you so much,

Megan Thee Stallion.

Gobble me, swallow me,

drip down the side of me

Quick, jump out before

you let it get inside of me...

[Megan] I definitely think "WAP"

had, like, a big impact on women.

[Tarana Burke] I love

Megan Thee Stallion.

[Gia Peppers] Me, too.

[Burke] We have so many things

that oppress us and hold us and...

- [Peppers] Yes.

- [Burke] ...make us sad.

We need places and spaces

where we can just be free.

When I ride the d*ck,

I'm-a spell my name, ah...

[Megan] You could sing these

words and really feel liberated.

[protestor] "Bring a bucket and

a mop for this wet-a*s p*ssy."

But it's there, nevertheless.

[protestor] "Give me everything

you've got for this wet-a*s p*ssy."

[crowd] Wet-a*s p*ssy,

make that pullout game weak...

[Megan] Thank you to

everybody who supported "WAP"

all across the world.

They was in front of the

White House singing "WAP"!

I said, "Okay!

Everybody got their 'WAP.'"

[Maxine Waters]

Now, that's audacity.

You young women have

taken control of your art.

My body, my choice!

[crowd] My body, my choice!

And let's put our middle fingers

up to these m*therf*ckers.

I feel like when women come

together, we just get so powerful.

It gets the men shaking.

- There's some wh*res in this house...

- [Snoop Dogg] That should be a possession

that no one gets to know

about until they know about it.

What image are you

putting out to young women?

[podcaster] My

issue is with them

giving false empowerment.

Look at what we're listening

to women say right now.

[Gaines] She's a terrible example

to be a mother and/or a wife.

We weren't talking about

her being a mother or a wife.

[Tucker Carlson]

Totally degrading.

And the same people who make it

will lecture you about "you

hate women," or something.

[Trevor Noah] You have to

admit, it's a really graphic song.

[Dulc Sloan]

Only in a repressed,

patriarchal society would people

consider a woman's pleasure "graphic."

Men literally rap about g*ng

bangs, passing 'em to the homies,

giving b*tches Percocet,

but the worst thing you heard

is me talking about my coochie.

That's crazy.

[fans cheering]

When you're a woman

that embraces sexuality,

people feel like, "Why do you

matter? You're a f*cking sl*t anyway."

And I feel like that's why

it was so easy for people

to dismiss the fact

that I was assaulted.

We need to protect

our Black women

- and love our Black women.

- [crowd cheering]

[news anchor] The D.A.'s

office has charged Tory Lanez

with sh**ting artist

Megan Thee Stallion.

[news anchor 2] Lanez now

faces two felony charges.

If convicted, he could be

sentenced to 23 years in prison.

[Megan] Once California

pressed charges,

I feel like that's when I

started getting the backlash.

[Tory] She knows what happened,

I know what happened, and

we know that what you're saying

and what the alleged things and

the alleged accusations of my name is

are not true.

Do y'all want

me to just sit here

and just allow my name to be assassinated

for something that I did not do?

[Megan] He could just get online

and create whatever narrative

he feel like creating that day.

Like, "Nothing happened,

nothing happened,"

or, "She ain't even get shot."

And I feel like that's when it

really started getting crazy.

[podcaster] And his story is clearly

opposite from what Meg is saying.

If I shot you, why are you

hopping back in the car with me?

You can't tell me who shot you

if you weren't facing the sh**ter.

It just don't make sense to me,

'cause Tory ain't that type of guy.

Things don't really add up

or make that much sense.

Megan is a liar.

No b*llet holes...

Megan Thee Stallion

did not get shot.

Free Tory Lanez!

[Megan] I would see

a new lie every day.

I see a lot of people

painting fake-a*s... [chuckles]

narratives and

making up stories and...

So many people were trying to

dissect the things that I was saying

and trying to make it like,

"Oh, she changed her

story a bunch of times."

I'm not finna let y'all

keep playing in my face,

and I'm not finna let this n*gga

keep playing in my face either.

I was just hoping that

somebody would see my side.

Yes, this n*gga Tory

shot me. Stop lying.

I was waiting for

Kelsey to come forward.

[commentator] My

source is very credible.

Megan has been sleeping with

Tory Lanez for some months.

Megan decided to screw

her best friend's man,

and that is the reason why

Kelsey is not out here defending her.

I wasn't your enemy.

You made me your enemy.

Come to find out, your a*s was

f*cking with a n*gga behind my back

that I was on first,

and that ain't right

'cause you're supposed to be my best--

you were supposed to be my best friend.

She just really disappointed

me and let me down.

Do you feel like anything

that you're saying

justifies the fact

that I was shot?

I would never let somebody

drag my best friend

and let people speculate

that this didn't happen to her,

when I had seen with my

own two eyes what happened.

I just seen my best friend get shot,

don't give a f*ck what we're mad about.

I wouldn't have

did her like that.

It sounds so good

and it sounds so juicy

that that's what the whole

thing got made about.

[dramatic music playing]

[overlapping crew chatter]

[Belle] It's a big day.

Now we're setting up for

an interview with Gayle King,

and, um,

she's not feeling

too well today,

so she, uh, she's kind of

really not wanting to come down.

Everyone's getting set up.

It's gonna be a good one.

Are we good to

bring the dress in?

[Megan] Yeah,

they can bring those.

[Belle] Yep, we're

good for the dress, guys.

[overlapping chatter]

It is too hot in this house.

I'm not nervous.

I wanna hurry up.

[Megan] I was definitely getting a

little too engulfed in social media.

All I wanted was for somebody

to say something good about me.

I was just hoping that

somebody would tell the truth.

Somebody got to say

something. You want somebody--

especially somebody

that got, like, a platform.

You want to feel like

somebody got your back,

even if it's a complete

f*cking stranger.

[overlapping crew chatter]

[Gayle King] How has your life

changed since you were shot?

I feel like my anxiety is worse.

I feel like...

my relationship

with people is...

it's-it's gotten very cold

'cause I'm not as

trusting as I used to be.

I was gonna ask you, is it

hard for you to trust people?

What do you say to people that still

don't believe that you were actually shot?

I don't think any

of this is for them.

Like, it's for me.

- Like, I know this happened to me.

- Mm-hmm.

[sniffles]

And I... I'm a victim.

Like, I'm the

victim. Like, I don't--

I'm not defending

myself against anything.

Like, something happened to me.

W-What was the nature of your

relationship with Tory Lanez?

Because he's led, led people

to believe that it was a...

sexual relationship, that you two

were dating. What was the nature?

- We were not dating.

- What was it?

We were really close.

We were friends.

We hung out, like,

every day. [sniffles] And...

Did you have an intimate

relationship with him?

Like, sexual?

- [chuckles] Yeah. Did you have--

- [sighs]

- Did you-- Megan...

- [chuckles]

Did you have a sexual

relationship with Tory Lanez?

Yes, that's my question.

Um... I didn't have a

sexual relationship with Tory.

[overlapping crew chatter]

[grunts]

[Megan] I need to find,

like, the new anime.

Take my f*cking mind

off this sh*t. [sniffles]

[Farris] Well, it's

over with. I mean...

[Megan] It's not,

because I feel like,

no disrespect to nobody who is

a-a journalist or interviewer,

but sometimes when I'm

talking to these people,

I feel like they

trying to get me.

I don't give a f*ck

about who you f*cked.

I don't care about that.

Like, he shot somebody.

But why is everybody so

bent on making the juicy story

about some sh*t

that's irrelevant? Like...

It's a cloud, I know.

But you got to figure out how to

beat it, you know what I'm saying?

Like, that's the whole thing.

Like, it's gonna keep on

coming for you in different ways.

Running from it ain't gonna

never be the way to-to get rid of it,

you know what I'm saying?

You just got to face it.

And it's just living your

life with dealing with it.

I've been knowing

Kelsey since... 2013.

- Wow.

- I would've never thought

nothing would be able,

especially something like money,

be able to get in between

me and her being friends.

You just gonna let this man make

up a lie about your best friend?

Tell on him!

Like, say something, anything!

[sighs, groans]

Farris...

Heavy is the head

that wears the crown.

Everybody hates me.

[pensive music playing]

[King on video] Megan. Did you have

a sexual relationship with Tory Lanez?

Yes, that's my question.

[Megan] Um...

[mockingly] Um!

I didn't have a sexual

relationship with Tory.

You f*cking lie! [laughing]

And how she answered

that question, by the pause,

by the movement of

the eye, by looking...

- Then she said, "Who, Tory?"

- Right. [laughs]

[commentator] Megan

got her a*s on national TV

and straight m*therf*cking

lied to that old lady like that.

[DJ Akademiks] You know, I'm not

gonna say Meg's a liar in totality...

[guest] But when you lie about one

thing, everybody's gonna doubt you

for everything else.

[Megan] Why are we not talking

about the g*dd*mn sh**ting?

Everything has been a

distraction from the sh**ting.

Like, I-I used to

be so confident

in myself and I used to be...

like, it-it wouldn't have been a time

where anybody would've asked

me about f*cking somebody

and I would've been like,

you know, I would've been like,

"So? Okay, yeah,

I did that sh*t."

Like, I like to f*ck.

What about it?

But the way, like,

they have villainized me

for being this type of person, it

started to make me second-guess...

myself.

Yes, b*tch, I lied

to Gayle King, b*tch.

First of all, I ain't know that b*tch was

even finna ask me about that sh*t, b*tch.

I thought we was finna

talk about the sh**ting.

Why'd you ask me

about f*cking Tory?

That's not what this is about.

Even if I was, I f*cked

a n*gga like once.

Maybe twice on a drunk night,

but you kept catching

me out of my f*cking mind.

Like...

Even sometime they get

me off the g*dd*mn track.

Like, when they keep talking

about the "f*cking" part,

and I find myself consumed

in the "f*cking" part,

and I'm like, "Wait, this

is not what this is about!"

If my mom was here, I

wouldn't be going through this.

I wouldn't knew

half these people.

I wouldn't have

did half this sh*t.

I think I was just going through

a crazy phase of life. Like...

I'll never be able to

take back that time of life.

I wasn't no bad person,

but I was definitely drinking

like a m*therf*cker, though.

But I wasn't fighting.

The worst thing I was doing

was drinking and f*cking.

That's it.

[woman on TV] Obviously,

everyone does that sh*t...

[TV continues indistinctly]

[Megan] Some days

I'm super smiley,

and then some days I'm just

like, blank, in the bed, crying.

[woman on TV] I'd

like to move on from it...

[somber music playing]

[Megan] They have

ran my g*dd*mn name

through the ground

so bad, like...

And I think it's

'cause of how I am

and what I talk about

and what I look like.

[crowd cheering]

I talk back, I fight back.

- [cheering swells]

- It's just me.

[cheering continues]

I'm getting tired of it.

[Megan Thee

Stallion: "Not Nice"]

f*ck it, b*tch, I'm not nice

Ay, I'm on my f*ck-you

sh*t, b*tch, I'm done being nice

And when it come to cutting

people off, I don't think twice

I kept it too real

sh*t, I kept it too G

And after all I did for

b*tches This is how they do me

b*tch, I kept your bills paid

You were sick, I paid for surgery

God, I pray you put who do me

wrong where they deserve to be

I guess my skin not light enough

My dialect not white enough

Or maybe I'm just not shaped the

way to make these n*gg*s give a f*ck

But f*ck it 'cause I'm Black

Biggie-Biggie Black, a*s biggie fat

Not a n*gga on this Earth

could take the credit for my stats

I'm in Paris, sitting

on the terrace

Sippin' tea with Farris

And I know they talkin' down

We just too far gone to hear it

f*ck it, b*tch, I'm not nice

Yeah, yeah

f*ck it, b*tch, I'm not nice

- Yeah, that's hard.

- That's hard.

[Megan] I need to clean it up.

You want to hear the other songs

you're working on tonight, or...

- [clears throat]

- [Megan] No, I really need to,

um, finish those songs.

[producer] Copy.

[items clattering]

It's empty. You want

another one or are you good?

I'm okay.

- [producer] You want some water, tea?

- Mm-mmm.

[Megan] When people

ask you how you're doing,

do they really want to

know how you're doing?

Or is it like a greeting?

Like, "Hey, how you doing?"

But I just be like, "I'm alive."

'Cause that's true.

Can't say if I'm doing

bad or good, but I'm alive.

It's been a different process

working on this album,

'cause I'm very uncomfortable.

The perkies these

b*tches is popping is potent

The sh*t they be tweeting

They got to be smoking

I gotta make this part up 'cause

I remember I stopped after that.

Hollywood sh*t 'cause

I'm with all the action...

I'm really trying to make people

understand the mind state that I'm in.

I just feel like sh*t right now.

And I really want

to use it as my diary.

[laughter]

I want to call the

album Traumazine.

I just want to take

everybody through

the things that I felt when I went

through what I was going through.

I'm not about to go

make a f*cking sad song.

- [chuckles]

- [Megan] Like, that's just not me.

- Like, back-- right.

- I don't make that type of music.

[producer] You

want to turn up still.

Right! b*tch, I'm twerking

through the crying.

[laughter]

So, that is like, kind

of what it is. This is like,

"Damn, I be going through

sh*t, but I be getting through sh*t."

[Sam] Don't be scared

to leave the comfort zone.

I think even someone that doesn't know you

is gonna feel like they can relate to it.

Like, get uncomfortable.

- Mm-hmm.

- You do that, young girl, we good.

[Megan] I feel like I can

never really understand

how to write something I was

feeling and actually talk about it.

I usually don't work like this, so

we're gonna see what come out today.

[cameraperson chuckling]

[Megan] Usually, I deflect

from what I'm really feeling,

so I could be sad as hell and

write a song like "Freak Nasty."

And it's hard opening up

for millions of people to hear.

b*tch, I said too

much on that hook.

Like, what do I want to say?

[producer] Facts.

[Megan] And it wasn't just

the sh**ting that f*cked me up.

The betrayal, the

constant t*rture online,

everything that happened after

the sh**ting definitely made it, like,

a hundred times worse.

[hip-hop beat playing quietly]

[Sam] What is the plan?

Um, I probably might want

to warm her up a little bit,

'cause I don't know if

she's been moving at all.

But I'll ask her

when she gets here.

Then we're gonna

throw her right in,

and then I just need her to make

a choice on some music approvals,

and then we're gonna f*cking

rehearse it because this is the first time

your girl is ever gonna be solo,

performance on

national television,

without dancers on "Plan B."

- Oh, no dancers.

- And, like, I think it's the first time

in all her comrades

and her generation

where she's gonna be like,

f*cking, "I am the MC queen."

Up, drop, drop, drop.

Go, drop, drop, drop.

Turn.

Up.

- [dancer] Copy that.

- Why that got me out of breath?

- [overlapping chatter]

- It's a little workout!

It is! I was trying to get

y'all to help me change it.

It's very hard!

I know, but it got

to be hard because

- b*tches ain't gonna be able to do it.

- Didn't I say that?

Come on, dancers,

use your gift as weapons!

Slick back ponytail,

feeling like I'm Ice-T

You know I love you good

Real hood, when you wake up

You know that girl weak If

she ain't messing up her makeup

Man, I can't believe I

used to let you touch me...

You could add

something to make it fuller.

- Yep.

- But it was just too many.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

...hood, when you wake up

You know that girl weak If

she ain't messing up her makeup

Okay, cool.

- [instrumental playing]

- Sweet.

Let me try it now. But turn, turn

my mic on and turn the vocals off.

[overlapping crew chatter]

Is this my bag with--

that's your stuff right here?

- [assistant] Yes, ma'am.

- I'm putting my earrings in here.

[sighs]

[cameraperson] You good?

No.

- [crew member 1] Walking.

- [crew member 2] Be careful.

[music playing quietly]

[indistinct chatter]

[YouTuber] Things just

don't add up in this story,

and I'm sure you guys

are starting to realize that.

If a woman makes accusations against

you, you're guilty until proven innocent,

which is what's going on right

now with Tory, as y'all can see.

They were saying, "Well, if he shot

you, why didn't you tell the police?"

She said, "I wanted

to protect a Black man."

You have spent the next two

years doing everything in your power

to railroad a Black man.

And then she was in the

club the next day, wasn't she?

[clicks tongue] Oh, Lord.

Does anyone believe this story?

You think her career's finished?

I think she's finished regardless.

Her music's been trash.

f*ck Megan, f*ck Horsey.

She dead-a*s wrong.

She's done. She's done.

[YouTuber] But it's gonna

come out in court, man.

He's gonna have his day in court,

'cause they're gonna go to trial.

[indistinct chatter continues]

Okay, I'm gonna go check

in. Go in before he runs out.

[Megan] Okay.

- Here's the salt and pepper--

- No, jalapeo kettle chips.

That's all that was in there.

That's it? In them bags

that be on the plane?

This was them. Let me

check the other ones.

[door closes]

Now I don't even want

to eat. [clicks tongue]

[cameraperson] Why

you don't want to eat?

Because I had my mouth

ready for what I wanted.

I got a billion things to

think about all the time.

And then, I be in a mood, but

I don't want to offend nobody

by being in a mood, so

when I go somewhere,

I be trying to be as present as I can

be, and I feel like I be getting annoyed

because I know I don't feel

good but I know I'm trying

to act like everything's okay.

And all I wanted to do was come eat

the chips I wanted with the f*cking...

wrap I wanted.

I feel like my anxiety is always

so bad, like, after the sh**ting.

In some kind of way, like, I've

become, like, on a trial publicly.

And I'm just like,

I'm giving up.

Like... it just feel like...

What's gonna happen to me next?

Like, who gonna do

something to me next?

And why are you

doing sh*t to me?

What did I do?

Like, what did I do?

So now I just feel

like everybody...

got something against me or

everybody hates me or something.

So, every time I walk in

somewhere, I'm like, "Oh, my God.

It's too much. Like,

I want to go home."

And I don't want

to feel like that.

I just... [crying]

[sniffles] ...I'm just

tired of being on edge.

[sniffles] And I'm tired of

acting like I'm not on edge.

[sniffles]

At the trial, I'm-a have to go up there

and I'm-a have to see these people.

And I don't want to...

I don't want to see none

of these m*therf*ckers.

[sniffles]

I don't know. [sniffles]

I'm just tired. And I'm sleepy.

And I didn't get

the food I wanted.

- [cameraperson chuckling]

- So now I'm just extra grumpy.

[laughing]

I'm, like, extra f*cking grumpy.

I just wanted jalapeo chips.

[cameraperson chuckling]

- [laughs]

- They'll go and get 'em.

[laughing]

[both laughing]

[laughing] I need

those f*cking chips.

The chips-- [laughing]

The chips really

spiraled it. [laughing]

Oh, my God, this is

why I can't take myself.

Damn it.

[sighs]

[blows nose]

But I ain't no punk-a*s

b*tch either, so...

[both laughing]

- [crowd cheering]

- [Megan Thee Stallion: "Plan B"]

Dear broke boy, still can't

believe I used to mess with you

Poppin' Plan B's 'cause I ain't

planned to be stuck with you

Man, I see you still

kick it With them opp

I'm the only reason that

your goofy self got women

All them girls

wanna look like me...

You see? That's

right, baby, she's in!

If you was wondering

Yeah, boy, I'm still that

I had to block you But

you still gotta watch this

'Cause who you

know rock it like me

No bra, tight tees

Slick back ponytail

Feeling like I'm Ice-T

[whooping]

Ladies, love yourself

'Cause this could get ugly

That's why it's

"Get money"

And I don't give a

if that leave tonight

Because that

don't run me

You better get on your

knees and eat this right

Before I have another

Do it for me

Because don't

run me, I run

Yeah, you's a

Hey!

[crowd cheering]

[song ends]

[crowd cheering]

- [Laurieann] f*ck yes!

- Whoo!

[all cheering]

[excited shouting]

You did it, baby!

[overlapping chatter]

Guys, she sounded

amazing, right?

- So good.

- Ate it, ate it, ate it.

[overlapping chatter continues]

[Megan] Sometimes, when

I'm too happy, I'm like, "All right,

what's bad about to happen?"

[Megan cheers]

And I want to

stop being like that,

because I really want to be

present in the good moments.

- Okay!

- [crowd cheering]

Thank y'all so much.

First of all, thank you

to the Hotties because,

without the Hotties, there

would be no Hot Girl Coach.

[crowd cheering]

I want to thank my mama

and my grandma-- hey, Granny.

Um, and... [laughs]

I want to just say...

[optimistic music playing]

[Megan] I don't want to, like, be

expecting something bad to happen to me

because I want to be able to

realize good things can happen to me.

I do deserve good

things to happen to me.

But I did not feel like

that for a long time.

[designers speaking French]

[chatter continues in French]

[designer] How late do

you rehearse until at night?

[Megan] Um, until, like, 9:00.

- Okay.

- Barely got any sleep.

[speaking French]

[designer speaking French]

- You good?

- I don't feel good.

- Do you want to take a break?

- Mm-mmm.

- [chuckles]

- I came here specifically for this.

[laughs] By the way, it's

okay to take breaks, too.

It's normal.

[laughs]

[Megan] I think

I'm gonna go home.

- Okay.

- Do you need anything?

I want to see what

Laurieann got for me.

- Yeah, yeah.

- [yawns]

All right, I'm good.

Okay. Is it nauseous?

Yeah. And I just feel

hot and lightheaded.

Okay, baby.

I just want to get you to

touch the mountaintop.

Then let's see how you

feel and you can go--

No, I know how I feel.

- Okay.

- I don't feel good.

- I can't let you go.

- I'm about to throw up.

Okay. [stammers] Okay.

You need me to get

you a bucket on the side?

Yeah, so I'll have a

bucket waiting on the side.

Let me explain something to you.

[sighs] You know I've

never seen anything like you

aside from the greats.

That said, the reality of being a

global superstar is this schedule.

People only see what

they see on your Instagram.

And see, they don't know how you're

built, and they are about to find out.

So, what do you

want to do with that?

I mean, I'm in here.

Exactly!

- But I'm about to shake it loose.

- I know. [chuckles]

[Laurieann] All right, let's

walk it from the top, children.

[crowd chanting]

Megan! Megan! Megan!

Megan! Megan! Megan!

Megan! Megan! Megan! Megan!

[crowd cheering]

[Megan] Every time

I have to go perform,

I'm like, "What if these

people f*cking hate me?"

[cheering continues]

I have to really hype myself up.

[cheering swells]

[announcer

shouting indistinctly]

Okay!

[cheering continues]

If you a real Hottie, let me

hear you say "real hot girl sh*t."

- [crowd] Real hot girl sh*t!

- [Megan] Real hot girl sh*t!

[crowd] Real hot girl sh*t!

Y'all ready to turn the f*ck up?

[cheering swells]

Drop that sh*t.

Hands on my knees

Shaking a*s, on my thot sh*t

Post me a pic, finna

make me a profit

When the liquor hit

Then a b*tch get toxic

Why the f*ck you in the

club When n*gg*s wilding?

I've been lit since

brunch, thot sh*t

Order '42 for the

table Let's pop sh*t

Missionary or

doggy-style I'm-a top sh*t

p*ssy-a*s n*gg*s hating

on me From the closet

Hoes tryna call me a snake

sh*t, I guess I can relate

'Cause a b*tch Spit

a whole lot of venom

And since these hoes all rats

When they come around me

All I see is a

whole lot of dinner

I walk around the

house butt-naked

And I stop at every mirror

Just to stare at my own posterior

I don't give a f*ck Who

talk behind my back

'Cause the b*tch knew

better Than to let me hear her

Hands on my knees

Shaking a*s, on my thot sh*t

Hands on my knees,

shaking a*s On my thot sh*t

[distorting] Hands on my knees

Shaking a*s, on my thot sh*t

Hands on my knees

Ha-hands on my knees

Hands on my knees

Shaking a*s, on my thot sh*t

Hands on my knees,

shaking a*s On my thot sh*t

Hands on my knees

Shaking a*s, on my thot sh*t...

[exhale echoes]

[music distorted, muffled]

[exhale echoes]

Hands on my knees

Ha-Hands on my knees

[air-raid siren

sound effect plays]

[crowd cheering]

Oh, sh*t. Now, don't start

that sh*t. We just got here.

[laughs]

Y'all are, like, rocking

each other too much.

I don't know what's happening.

We not pushing. This

is not a dangerous set.

It do not call for all that.

We 'posed to be twerking.

[cheering swells]

Not stomping each

other out, okay?

[crowd cheering]

[dramatic music playing]

[Megan] Ever

since I've been shot,

I started having anxiety

about performing.

I always think somebody

gonna do something to me.

I see so many guys online say,

"You should've got shot in the head."

Or, "He should

have finished the job,

should've k*lled your a*s."

"You always twerking, b*tch.

You deserve what you got."

[person] He should

have just aimed higher.

Should've head tapped her. Bang.

[Megan] I can't separate

trolling from real life.

Am I safe to perform in

front of thousands of people?

I don't know who in this crowd.

[g*nshots]

And I seem to be the only person

who is still f*cked up about it.

Throughout this whole

experience, I don't understand,

how is Tory looking so happy?

How could you sh**t somebody

and be living life like you

didn't do none of that sh*t?

[crowd cheering]

I remember he texts

my phone and was like,

"I'm watching you on

Live. You look so sad."

And I was like, "This

m*therf*cker is crazy."

[crowd cheering]

I finally had to get a new

number, I got a new phone,

and I got a restraining order.

Make some

m*therf*cking noise, Miami!

Going to Rolling Loud,

he came on right after me.

[DaBaby] I'll give somebody

out here a million dollars

if they can guess who in here.

Y'all make some m*therf*cking

noise for Tory Lanez.

[Megan] You thought that you

could pass me up in a mask?

You was just trying to show me,

"We can do whatever we want to do."

And then he was chopping up

horse legs in his music videos.

[commentator 1] Bro, look at the

horse leg. That's a horse leg, bro.

[commentator 2] I think

it's Megan's leg. [gasps]

[Megan] They said,

like, the "HGS Special."

What is that, the "Hot Girl

Special"? Is it "Hot Girl Summer"?

That's really f*cking sick.

He was constantly threatening

me, and everybody was laughing.

And everybody

was supporting him.

[commentator] LeBron is publicly speaking

about how good Tory Lanez's music is.

He a solid dude. I f*ck with

Tory. Free, free my boy, man.

"Free Tory" in the

f*cking chat, bro.

Free Tory Lanez, too. One time.

[g*nf*re sound effect plays]

Why did all the men in the industry

decide that they needed to jump in?

Yo, you heard DaBaby smashed

Megan Thee Stallion multiple times?

He said he did even the

day before the b*tch got shot.

[Peter Rosenberg] Was there a

reason that you felt like you should,

you know, indicate y'all had

a relationship of some sort?

"Indicate"?

Or, sorry, clearly say?

It is what it is.

50 Cent trolled the hell

out of Megan Thee Stallion.

I don't like that girl.

Meg's a demon, bro!

My man right here, you know him.

He stays in the

conversation. What's up, T?

What's going on, my

man? How you feeling?

You are one of my

favorite R&B artists.

Wow, that... that's it.

[Diddy] But you know I got

a mean, toxic side to me.

[laughs]

Now I'm really

beating myself up.

I feel like, I'm so tired.

I get in-- 'cause

I didn't sleep,

and when I got into bed,

finally, I was having nightmares.

[cameraperson] About what?

I don't even want

to speak it out loud.

It was, like, crazy.

So now I'm on edge even more.

I feel like I'm waiting

for something to happen.

[pensive music playing]

[Megan] Rolling Loud,

everybody, put your hands up!

[crowd cheering]

We 'bout to have a m*therf*cking

party up in here right now!

I'm still anxious.

I'm still having nightmares.

I'm still just

mentally messed up.

I want people to see how I feel.

I want people to understand

how this is affecting me.

But at the same time, I don't...

I don't want people

to see me f*cked up.

Like, I don't want people

to think that I am weak.

Like, I want people

to know that I'm...

I want people to

see that I'm "strong."

[muffled cheering]

The way that all of this

sh*t is, it don't seem real.

I can only pray that the

right thing happens at the trial.

[crowd cheering]

[air cannons blasting]

Okay. So, first

thing, so you'll do--

That's the show, day off.

U.K. festival-- not in London,

but, like, in the country--

- Mm-hmm.

- U.K. festival in the country,

day off, Hottie Party.

I feel like I'm going

crazy, Sam. Like...

Like, I'm about to lose my

mind, and I feel like I need to stop.

And just rest?

- Yes.

- Yeah.

- Like, after--

- You don't have--

Here, my job is to

prevent-- present you things.

You don't have to

say yes to everything.

Right. But after Brazil...

Yeah?

Take a minute?

Yes. I need to collect my

m*therf*cking thoughts.

I-I think that's healthy.

I think that would--

The only other hard thing

we have confirmed is the 23rd,

that iHeart show.

You're open until

that 23rd, and then,

following that, you're pretty

much open till October 2nd,

unless you go to

Paris Fashion Week.

October 4th is the

Forbes thing you agreed to.

Got to do that.

Yep. And then the

following week's SNL.

- Got to do that.

- You got to do that.

And then you're free.

Your calendar is really open

until Australia and New

Zealand, which is a month later.

I don't know, man. I just feel

like I'm losing my mind a little bit.

Well, I don't want

you to lose your mind.

- Me, either.

- Okay.

So when am I gonna

get to sit the f*ck down?

But other than that...

[Mayor Sylvester Turner] I want to

thank all of the department heads,

all of the others who are here

from various organizations.

Uh, thank you all for-for

being, for being present.

Let me just say, good afternoon

and welcome, everyone,

to Houston City Hall.

Uh, today we are

proud and excited

to honor Houston's own,

Megan Thee Stallion.

[whooping, applause]

The key to the city of Houston

symbolizes that the

recipient has the authority

to enter and leave

the city at any time.

[laughter]

And, Megan, you have lifted

H-Town up all over the world.

Today your hometown just want

to say "thank you" and lift you up.

[cheering, applause]

[indistinct chatter]

Lydia!

Is that Phoebekah?

- Here's your girl.

- [gasps]

These are for you.

- Thank you. [gasps]

- From your niece.

And this is your niece.

- I done tried to keep her up.

- Phoebe! Let me see her.

[Megan] It's hard trying to navigate

through this world and this industry

and stay the same person

that you were when you came in.

And it's hard to find good people,

so when you do find somebody

that's good, I feel like

you got to hold on to them.

Lydia! Come get this picture

with me and your baby.

b*tch, your whole

head blue, b*tch.

- I know. I just dyed it this morning.

- [laughs]

[Megan] Lydia is my

dawg. It's my real cousin.

We've been knowing each other

through every process of our life.

She's just safe. I know... I know

she got my back no matter what,

and I got her-her

back no matter what.

[both laugh]

This girl do not talk to me

like I'm Megan Thee Stallion.

We've been knowing each other

through every stage of our life.

[indistinct chatter]

But whatever I got to do, whatever

celebration is going on right now,

it could be so many

people in a room

and I feel like I'm the

only person in there.

I feel lonely in every

relationship in my life.

And it's nothing

that nobody can help.

No matter how hard you

try to be my friend, like,

in my head, I'm really on Mars.

Okay.

[Megan] I'm here

but I'm not here.

- Bye, y'all.

- Thank you.

Thank you!

What we about to do? We

about to go home and go outside?

Um, actually, I just wanted to go

by my mama graveside real quick.

Y'all ain't even got

to jump out or nothing.

I just never been.

[somber music playing]

[Nadeska] You know, it's crazy

all the things you've achieved

in the past couple

years, all the awards.

- It's like, milestone after milestone--

- [Megan] Yeah. [chuckles]

[Nadeska] And then it blows

my mind to hear her on the album

say that she still feels

like she's not doing enough.

When I would do something good,

my mama could say, "Good job."

"That was good," you

know? "We did that."

But now when I do

..., it's like, "Okay?"

Like, "What's next?"

'Cause I don't know if I'm

doing that good of a job.

I feel like by now, I would

have been able to, like,

get my ... together when

I talk about my mama,

but every time I talk about my

mama, I cannot hold it together.

But I don't know why that's something

you think you should be able to do.

It's your mom.

But I know my mama, and

she would be like, "Girl."

[chuckles] "Get

your ... together."

[laughter]

[crowd cheering]

[Jimmy Fallon] Awesome.

Uh, can we talk

about Traumazine?

- Uh, yes!

- This is a big deal.

- This is a huge deal.

- This is out at midnight.

This is out basically right now.

- It's out.

- Yes.

- It's out! Yes.

- [crowd cheering]

You said this is the-- your

most personal and honest album.

Yeah.

[interviewer] What was the response

to the album, like, the first day?

[sniffles] I couldn't even

tell you. I don't know.

[chuckles] I don't remember.

I, like, really blacked a lot

of that part of my life out.

[somber music playing]

[radio crew member]

Welcome. Hello.

- Hello!

- [Nicole Ryan] Here she is!

- Hi! Hello, hello.

- [Megan] My album is out.

I was so on edge about

the album, 'cause this is, like,

the first time I've

ever been so personal.

- Yeah.

- I go through so much

and I feel like I just

always keep it inside

and I always just... just

keep working through it.

But now I'm kind of

feeling like, "Dang, it's..."

- You have to deal with it.

- I have to deal with this.

[Megan] To me, Traumazine

basically means facing yourself.

To accept what you've been

through and come out on the other end

as the person that you see yourself

becoming or that you want to be.

[group cheering]

[Nadeska] When I see

you, you're always smiling,

you're having fun.

You're one of the busiest

people I've ever seen.

But then, to hear that, behind all

these smiles, you're hiding tears?

And that's a track

to me like "Anxiety."

- [Darden] Right.

- [Megan] Mm-hmm.

It's one of the most

upbeat songs on the album.

Yeah.

But then it's also one

of the saddest songs.

[Megan] Some of the songs on Traumazine

are definitely me, like, venting.

Like, I feel like the album is more

for me than it is for everybody else.

[Megan Thee

Stallion: "Anxiety"]

Yeah

I'm a bad b*tch,

and I got bad anxiety

People call me rude 'Cause

I ain't letting 'em try me

Sayin' I'm a h* 'cause

I'm in love with my body

Issues, but nobody I

could talk to about it

They keep saying

I should get help

But I don't even

know what I need

They keep saying

speak your truth

And at the same time

Say they don't believe, man

Excuse me while I get

Into my feelings for a second

Usually I keep it in

But today I got to tell it

Not that anybody

gives a f*ck anyway

But everybody talking

sh*t Probably sucks anyway

Y'all don't even

know how I feel

I don't even know how I deal

Today I really

hate everybody

And that's just

me being real, yeah

Monday, Tuesday,

Wednesday, Thursday

Bad have bad days, too

Friday, Saturday,

Sunday, bounce back

How a bad always do

All I really wanna

hear is "It'll be okay"

Bounce back 'cause a

bad Can have bad days

All I really wanna

hear is "It'll be okay"

Bounce back 'cause a

bad Can have bad days

If I could write a

letter to heaven

I would tell my mama that

I should've been listening

And I would tell her sorry

That I really been wildin'

And ask her to forgive me

'Cause I really been trying

And I would ask please

Show me who been real

And get 'em from around

me If they all been fake

It's crazy how I say the

same prayer To the Lord

And I always get surprised

By who he take, man

Monday, Tuesday,

Wednesday, Thursday

Bad have bad days, too

Friday, Saturday,

Sunday, bounce back

How a bad

always do

I think we should, we

should not be in here.

- Is she-- Is she crying?

- I don't think it's a good thing.

- Huh?

- I don't think that's a good thing.

I think she's stressed out.

All I really wanna

hear is "It'll be okay"

Bounce back 'cause a

bad Can have bad days

[team member]

Is it just the song?

- Yeah, it might be that.

- Maybe it's just the song.

[overlapping chatter]

Oh, my God. She got a

standing ovation in the hallway.

[all cheering]

Was my hair good?

- Perfect!

- Was my makeup good?

- [team] Yes.

- Okay.

[producer] Everything was

good. You look beautiful, girl.

g*dd*mn it. I ain't

want to cry. [chuckles]

[team member 2] Every time you

sing that song, you get emotional.

I ain't gonna cry

next time. [sniffs]

I hope. [laughs]

When I say you've

been k*lling it, like...

- It was beautiful.

- [Megan] Was I pretty?

[team member 2] It was pretty.

It was pretty. Band was living.

Like, it's-it's a viral

moment already.

- Oh, yeah. It's all over. Yeah.

- Is it?

Everybody's going crazy.

I can't even handle

smoking weed

Marilyn Monroe,

my favorite

My favorite bad

I think she the GOAT

Jamming to Britney

Singing to Whitney...

[Megan] Thank y'all to everybody

at SNL that really held me down!

- [crowd cheering]

- And thank you to the Hotties,

because without the Hotties, there

would be no Hot Girl Coach, ah!

Good night!

[all cheering]

[band playing Saturday

Night Live theme]

[people cheering, whooping]

- [man] Come on, cake!

- Cute.

Oh, that's

beautiful. Beautiful...

- Did my hair look good?

- [person] It did, yeah.

- Okay.

- [laughter]

[whooping, cheering]

- Good job, Meg!

- She like, "First and foremost..."

- [team member 1] Beautiful.

- [team member 2] Cheers.

Cheers.

[indistinct chatter]

[Megan] I look like I

got on a diaper, b*tch.

What are you talking about?

Megan, let it go.

- Hmm?

- [Roach] It's good. It's still good.

It is still good.

- From start to finish.

- I didn't even notice.

- I ain't notice, either.

- Megan, I came in here crying.

[Roach] Let it go.

b*tch, do you know

what you just did?

You say "shake this sh*t off" right

now, 'cause you're gonna make me mad

if you do this.

You're gonna make me mad if you

don't understand how good this sh*t was.

- Don't make me mad at you.

- I know.

But you k*lled that.

I'm not even playing with you.

Like, I'm not even playing.

Just, next time, let's

make sure my sh*t...

[Roach] Uh-huh.

I see it. You see it.

The world ain't gonna see it.

We looking at it, though.

Me and you looking at it.

People ain't gonna look--

Overall, from start to finish,

the sh*t was perfect.

Every-Every look was perfect.

Whatever.

- Not gonna change it.

- Megan, I'm proud of you.

- Thanks, love.

- You k*lled it, MTS. k*lled it.

[sighs]

[groans]

[Roach laughs]

[somber music playing]

[news anchor] Rapper

Megan Thee Stallion

was in New York rehearsing

for Saturday Night Live

when her California

home was broken into.

[news anchor 2] Megan Thee

Stallion was here in New York City

rehearsing for her

appearance on SNL,

and the home invaders

apparently knew she'd be away.

[commentator] So, the

Internet is going wild.

It appears that Drake is

dissing Megan Thee Stallion.

[commentator 2] If Drizzy Drake

says Meg is lying, she's lying.

[commentator 3] All right, now,

Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez,

their trial has been continued.

Prosecutor estimates jury

selection will start December 5th.

[commentator 4] And, Meg, if

you're lying, your career is over.

[dramatic music playing]

[fan] Could we take a selfie?

Thank you.

[indistinct chatter]

Thank you, Meg.

[chatter continues]

Bye, y'all!

I really want to

speak this out clearly,

so I don't want to

cry while I'm saying it.

I had really had,

like, a real breakdown.

[thunder rumbling]

[breathes deeply]

My mind was just so

black and, like, dark

and everything was

ugly through my eyes.

I'm really lonely.

And I didn't feel

like I was worthy,

and I didn't feel like my

life had any kind of value.

It was, like, to the point to where I

had to call 911 because I can't breathe.

[crying echoes]

[laughter]

When you go through

something traumatic,

your brain don't put

it in the right place.

[screaming]

[g*nsh*t]

So, I had to keep

going over the sh**ting,

in my mind, with a

therapist every day.

But she was teaching me

how to process it correctly.

- What does a safe space look like?

- [g*nshots]

Picture a place where you

would feel the most calm.

I don't know the

last time I been safe.

I don't know the

last time I felt calm.

[children laughing]

You got to fight so hard

to get out of this space.

I can't give up.

[sighs] All right.

[sirens wailing in distance]

- [assistant] Well, hey.

- Why y'all got this sh*t set up...

like a crime scene?

[laughter]

- Hey.

- [assistant] How are you?

- [Megan] I'm good. How you doing?

- [assistant] Good.

Long time no see.

- [Megan] Nneka.

- [Nneka] What up?

b*tch... ducked off.

[laughs] In my own world.

[Nneka] You okay?

I am okay.

Like, I had went to... [laughs]

It's gonna sound stupid,

but I went to, like...

a wellness retreat,

and I took, like, so many

different types of therapies,

and I just feel like a

new b*tch. [chuckles]

- Oh, really?

- Yes, like...

I don't know. I guess

I'll tell you about it later,

- but...

- Mm-hmm.

I know you missed this a*s.

[Nneka laughs]

[both laughing]

[Megan sighs]

I thought I was about to die

before I left to go to therapy, like...

- [Nneka] Mm-hmm.

- Uh, it was like three days...

...three days I did not get out the

bed, and I never felt like this in my life.

Like, I couldn't

get out the bed.

Like, I was here, actually,

and I just stayed under c-covers,

and I cried every

day, and it... it wa...

I'm crying about everything,

but I just could not move,

and I never felt like that ever.

And I never... [stammers]

...have been a suicidal person.

I never been somebody

who just wanted to be like,

"Oh, f*ck it, I don't want to be here,"

but I had... I was feeling like that.

I was like, "I don't... I would

rather not live through this

than to have to live with this."

Court start tomorrow,

and I'm just ready for everybody

to eat their m*therf*cking words,

and everybody gonna have to

eat my m*therf*cking a*s, actually,

'cause that's all

everybody gonna see.

I'm-a stay with my back

turned to m*therf*ckers.

- b*tch, a*s gonna stay spread.

- [Nneka laughs]

[laughing] Every...

b*tch, I'm-a stay bent over.

[both laugh]

I don't even want no apologies.

Like, I feel like

I'm past that, too.

Like, I'm just like,

"Oh, I don't even care."

[somber music playing]

[friend] Good night.

- Tory!

- We support Tory.

Stick to the side, guys.

- To the side, please.

- [overlapping chatter]

Good luck, Tory. Don't

prosecute an innocent man.

Thank you, man. Appreciate

y'all. Have a nice day, all right?

You, too.

[reporter 1] A jury trial is

scheduled to begin today

for rapper Tory Lanez.

He is accused of sh**ting

Megan Thee Stallion.

[Megan] It's not that I

don't have faith in the truth,

because I know

I'm telling the truth.

I don't know what's gonna happen,

and that's making me nervous.

[reporter 2] During opening statements,

Tory's team laid out a whole theory.

[reporter 3] They were

saying that this sh**ting

basically amounted

to a catfight,

a jealousy-fueled expl*si*n

between Kelsey and Megan.

How do you think it's going,

Tory? You feeling confident?

You know what they say

about men in pink, right? [laughs]

[reporter] It looks

good. Looks good.

[reporter 4] Now, Megan Thee

Stallion is expected to testify that it was

Tory Lanez that

shot her that night.

[reporter 5] Tory's lawyer has been

really up-front that he's gonna be

questioning Megan about

her inconsistent statements.

[reporter 6] Did you get

the sense Megan's credibility

is gonna be a big issue?

[reporter 7] Absolutely.

[Megan] There are a lot of

women who go through things

and they feel like

nobody will believe them

and they feel like

nobody will care,

so they don't want to fight

and they don't want to speak up.

Megan, why you

lying on that boy?

- Why're you lying on that boy?

- Is it the truth or a lie?

You look good in that purple!

[Megan] But I feel like,

"Okay, you got to be strong."

'Cause I know somebody somewhere

going through something similar.

[dramatic music playing]

This is like my final

battle, my last fight.

[indistinct chatter]

When walking into the courtroom--

Well, I came in there trying to be tough.

But inside I was in shambles.

[crying]

[laughter]

[person 1] Megan is a liar.

[person 2] No b*llet holes.

[person 3] Megan Thee

Stallion did not get shot.

- [person 4] I don't think Megan got shot.

- [person 5] You don't think so?

- [person 6] Free Tory Lanez!

- [person 7] Free Tory! No evidence--

[person 7] I think she's

finished regardless.

[person 8] She's

done. She's done.

[jarring music playing]

[Megan] But then I thought,

"I need to show

up for Megan Pete."

[hopeful music playing]

[g*nsh*t]

[thunder rumbling]

[tape rewinding]

It just really clicked to me, today

is not about trying to look strong.

It's okay to be sad.

I need to stop avoiding it.

[waves crashing]

[laughter]

[triumphant music playing]

[reporter 1] Highly

anticipated testimony today.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion

testified about what she says happened

on the night of July 12, 2020.

[reporter 2] How

you feeling, Megan?

[reporter 3] It wasn't just

what she said happened,

it's how she said it.

She was really

emotional in court today.

[reporter 4] Outside the courthouse,

fans rallied to show their support,

holding up a "We Stand

With Megan" banner.

[reporter 5] I heard it

was a packed courtroom.

[reporter 6] I really got the

impression that everyone around me

was just hanging

on everyone's word.

[reporter 7] Morning,

Kelsey. How you doing today?

[Charles Latibeaudiere] As

Tory Lanez's trial is heating up,

Megan's former best friend Kelsey took

the stand, and it turned into total chaos.

[person 1] Gonna tell the

truth? Gonna tell the truth?

[person 2] Is it the truth or a

lie? The truth will set you free!

[reporter 8] Kelsey

Harris testified,

and the prosecution

called her as a witness

because they thought

she was gonna come in,

identify Tory as the sh**ter and

pretty much help them make this case.

That did not happen.

She basically is saying today that

she doesn't remember any of the events

that took place when

the sh**ting occurred.

Kelsey got up there and

blew their whole sh*t up.

And the defense had

a huge lead today.

Do y'all really think that he

deserves to go to prison for this sh*t?

When it's this f*cking messy?

Isn't this all favorable

to Tory Lanez?

Because if I'm Tory Lanez's defense

team, I'm trying to confuse the jury.

There's no smoking g*n coming.

This is he-said, she-said,

but the bodyguard

who is the neutral party?

Nobody can find that n*gga.

The D.A. just seems like they

don't have all their ducks in order,

and Tory's lawyer is

coming with some sh*t.

[indistinct chatter]

[Megan] How far are

we from the house?

I think, um...

At some point, I'm supposed

to get on the phone with the D.A.

- [team member] Uh-huh.

- So...

[team member] Look

at this. That's bright.

[Megan chuckles]

- We at that house.

- [Megan] Mm-hmm.

[team member]

With all the lights.

[Megan] I have not

been to no house

- with Christmas decorations in years.

- Mm-hmm.

[Megan] Mmm.

[indistinct chatter]

[cameraperson] You

happy to be home?

I'm actually really

happy to be home.

[team member] Meg!

But I got to, uh, get on this

call with the D.A.s in a little bit.

I don't know what's

gonna happen.

But I know the D.A.s wouldn't

have this much faith in me,

they wouldn't have this

much faith in this case,

they wouldn't be

standing on it this tough

if they didn't believe

it, if they didn't know it.

I'm praying for

the right outcome.

I'm praying that the right

people make the right decision.

[pensive music playing]

[reporter 1] Now to

the trial of Tory Lanez.

Jury deliberations now underway

after hearing closing arguments.

[birds chirping]

[cameraperson]

What are you feeding?

[Megan] Turtles. I want

to stick a fishing rod

in here and see what

I can catch. [chuckles]

How'd you sleep last night?

Um...

Did I sleep?

[sputters]

[toy squeaking]

This sh*t has been

going on for so long.

Finally, today it's

coming to an end.

Like, today we

gonna see if the truth--

if truth does win or if you can

bullshit your way through life.

I just keep waiting

for my phone to buzz.

- [indistinct chatter]

- [Lydia] Ooh!

[babbles]

Oh, mama.

- [crying]

- Aw.

[Megan] Phoebe!

[Lydia] Look at

your auntie, Phee!

Phoebenah!

My girl.

Come on.

That-- Wrong way.

Where you going?

[laughter]

Oh! My girl.

[Lydia] Look at

her! Look at you.

- [Megan] Phoebe. Shh!

- [dog barking]

Shh! No!

He said, "I'm the only baby

around this m*therf*cker."

Phoebe!

This is how my-- Like, I have

every picture of Megan when she--

- [cameraperson] From when she was younger?

- Uh-huh. When we-- Yes.

Like, we were thick as thieves.

[cameraperson] Oh,

my God. Look at her.

[Lydia] She still looks the

same, doesn't she? [laughs]

Yeah, I was causing

trouble back then. Look.

When the situation

first happened,

- I call her...

- [babbling]

I see her laying in the

hospital, but it didn't ding to me.

So, I'm just talking to her, I'm

talking to her, I'm talking to her.

And then I just stopped and I was

like, "b*tch, are you in the hospital?"

And she was like,

"Where you at?"

Like, "Who you around?"

And I knew it was serious.

So, when she told me,

I immediately was like,

"Are you gonna, like, call the

police on him? He needs to go to jail."

Course, she didn't

want to call the police.

You know, she

didn't want to do that.

Because she's always

been that type of person like,

"You hurt me, I'm-a just leave you

alone and go on about my business."

She was there for me

through the test of time,

so I would never

turn my back on her.

And she need--

she need love, man.

Everybody need love, bruh.

[pensive music playing]

[Megan] I want this win

more than just for me.

Because if it wasn't me, and I

was on the outside looking in,

and something had happened to

me, I wouldn't want to come forward.

If this famous lady can

have this happen to her

and nothing get done about it,

what the f*ck do that say for

a person who is just a civilian?

Who don't have the

resources to fight?

Who can't afford a lawyer?

Who can't do sh*t for theyself but

come forward and just tell the truth?

What do that say for them?

[crickets chirping]

My body is having, like, all

kind of reactions right now.

[phone chimes]

Count one.

They got him for

the highest charges.

What's up?

What's up?

[quietly] What's up?

[sobbing]

It's over. It's over.

[sobbing continues]

[optimistic music playing]

[inhales deeply]

Oh, my God!

[crying]

- It's over.

- [sobbing]

Oh, my goodness. You're strong.

- You're so strong.

- [sobbing] Oh, my God.

[sobbing continues]

[sobbing] Thank you so much.

Oh. Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

Oh, my God. Thank you, God.

Like, g*dd*mn.

[sobbing] g*dd*mn.

Ooh, sh*t.

If-If I ain't never think

it was a God before--

[laughing]

m*therf*cker, I do now.

Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

Mmm.

[laughing, crying]

- [celebratory chatter]

- Merry Christmas!

Give auntie a hug.

[Harvey Levin] A jury has

now spoken, just minutes ago.

A jury in Downtown Los

Angeles found Tory Lanez guilty.

[Latibeaudiere] This whole case

has ended with him being sentenced

to ten years in prison.

[indistinct chatter]

[Megan] I really thought that

once he got sentenced and

once he went off to jail, like,

I was gonna be a new woman.

And I thought I was gonna

be great, and I could just go be

the Megan Thee Stallion

I always wanted to be.

No.

I still, every day, have to

deal with people mad at me

because I said what happened to me.

But I do feel like I'm

getting in a place where

I really don't care.

I need to care

about my damn self.

Hello!

My cousin!

- Hello!

- I was like, who is this blonde...

[Megan] For the first time

since my mama was alive,

I'm taking care of myself,

'cause I want to feel good.

Like, everything I do is for me.

And I don't feel like I'm operating

at one million percent now,

but I definitely feel

like I'm operating better.

Like, I do feel hopeful

on what's next for me.

[Megan Thee Stallion: "Cobra"]

And I'm really locked

in on my music.

I'm manifesting happiness.

I've been really

feeling it lately.

- Yes!

- [applause]

Bwa, bwa, bwa,

bwa, bwa, bwa, bwa!

[Rachel Smith] Well,

what can we expect

in this new era

of music for you?

I feel like I'm in

such a fresh space.

- [Smith] Yeah?

- [Megan] Like, everything about me is new.

My attitude. I've been very

vocal about what my goals are.

Just as a snake sheds its skin,

we must shed our past.

Breaking down and I had

the whole world watching

But the worst part is

really who watched me

Every night I

cried, I almost died

And nobody

close tried to stop it

Long as everybody

getting paid, right?

Everything'll

be okay, right?

I'm winning, so

nobody trippin'

Bet if I ever fall off

Everybody go missing

[reporter 1] 2024 may as well

be the Year of Thee Stallion.

And the three-time Grammy winner

is showing no signs of slowing down.

[Megan] My vibe. I feel like I'm

starting a new chapter in my life.

I can't wait for y'all

to hear the album.

Y'all are gonna scream.

The tour is gonna be great.

- [crowd cheering]

- [Megan] You look like you need

some real hot girl sh*t!

[crowd cheering]

And what I really

want the Hotties to do

is focus on being nice

and kind and positive.

'Cause, b*tch,

that's what we do.

[cheering swells]

[Randall Lane] You've talked about

your own personal mental health.

Is that something

you're gonna move into?

- I have a new website.

- Yep.

Just letting everybody

know where you can get help.

There are people

that are willing to listen.

And you are heard, and you should be

able to speak to somebody and feel safe.

We got to talk about it,

we got to holler about it,

we got to scream about it.

No matter how hard it is,

no matter how stressful it is.

To be heard, you have to speak.

This p*ssy depressed, hmm

I'm about to

stress him, yeah

Pink nails round

his neck, huh

But this ain't domestic, ay

Think it's going down, ha

Now he stand corrected, ay

This p*ssy depressed, hmm

I'm about to stress him, ay

[Megan] I know my mama

would be proud of me.

[song ends]

[Megan Thee Stallion featuring

John Legend: "The Last Ones"]

To be faithful

- I don't want

- I talk to you in prayers

'Cause I can't talk

to you in person

Achieved so many things

Don't know how I had the courage

I wonder if you proud Wonder

what you would say now

Wonder if you were still

here Who I wouldn't be around

It's just so

hard without you

I don't feel smart without you

Confidence is lost without you

Can't say your name 'cause I

still tear up when I talk about you

I hate that every day I wake

up And it start without you

Be hard to see who good for

me Because it's dark without you

And all the I'm doing

now We used to dream about it

I'm working O.T. So it

ain't no time to think about it

I took your love for granted

Never thought I'd be without it

And all that we used

to talk I got to be about it

It's only one of me

I'm the last one Putting

water on my family tree

I wear my name across

my chest Like a employee

You know my alias

You don't know Megan P
