which I had to start wearing, and I-

And I break off a bead on it, and...
Oh wait, actually, I have
to use a sword for that,
so I can't do that.
I will just sh**t it with my g*n.

give me an attack roll.
- And I will, ooh, do I wanna...
I can't get sneak attack.
[battle music continues]
Can I hide as a bonus action,
just plop down and sh**t
and then pop back up?
- Yeah, absolutely.
- Great, okay, so I'll hide.
My hide check is a 26, so I jump down,
maybe pop out a different window,
and sh**t the Gukgak g*n out.
- No one's driving!
- No, I got it with the-
- By the way, let me say,
how are you reaching?
This is a van of Gorgug's
size. Do you have stuff tied-
- I just have mirrors and stuff,
just full on Inspector Gadget.
- So do you have springs extending
from the soles of your
shoes to hit the pedal?
- Yes, I think I'm literally jumping down
and stomping on the pedals
while using a series of mirrors.
- Oh, so you're down in the footwell
steering from the bottom of
the wheel, hitting the pedals?
- You've basically taken a disco ball-
- You're looking through that mirror.
- Master Seacaster, does your friend-
- Yes, he needs you.
- A little to the left!
- Yes, but I just don't want to lose

[mimics engine revving]
This helixing ray of
solar energy moves in.
if it surges to get away,
it's not gonna be able.
Its length is diminished.
- Come on. Come on, buddy.
- Here we go.
Ecaf is going to give the Help
action to the driver, Riz,
so you have advantage on
whatever you're doing.
That brings us to Figueroth
Faeth, astride the Hangvan.
- [Emily] Do we get the impression
that just doing some damage
to this guy might help?
- Give me an Insight check with advantage.
[dice rolling]
- Gorgeous. Gorg-eous.
That is a [clears throat]
- Okay.
You see that the Night Yorb
was clearly wounded enough
that in its position
right now, it was capturable by sigil.
It suddenly looks like it's
become a little bit healthier,
and as you watch, one of
the Yorbies on the back
of the thing goes, "Everyone,
for our fallen comrades!
For the Night Yorb!"
And you watch a little injury
heal on the Night Yorb's body
as the servant says, "Night Yorb."
- Okay.
- It's the thing.
- It's what thing?
- [Murph] The thing.
- Oh, by saying-
- When we say its name, it gets better.
- You see the Hangman in the back says,
"I thought me and the
Hangvan were pretty clear!
Pretty clear, a long time ago!"
- Are these guys prone or dead?
- [Brennan] They're full dead.
- They're full dead?
- Full dead.
- Then I'm just gonna go ahead
and try to Eldritch Blast the Night Yorb.
- Nice.
- The thing!
- No, Emily Axford-
it's only in character.
Emily Axford can say it. Night
Yorb, Night Yorb, Night Yorb.
We're all good to say Night Yorb.
- He who must not be named!
- But I do love the hustle.
- I did not notice what had happened.
I was like, what happened? Are you okay?
- I don't know, I was so scared.
- [Ally] You did what?
- Yeah, I'm just gonna Eldritch Blast him.
That's a 24 to hit.
That's a crit!
- Ooh! Hell yeah!
- [Emily] I crit on 19
on my Hexblade Curse.
- That's right!
- Whoa.
- Okay. So he has-
Okay, the first one is
just gonna be a d10,
but he's got Hex and I'm adding stuff
for Hex and Hexblade
Curse, just so you know.
- Hell yes, got it.
- Okay, do you want me
to roll it all at once?
- Yeah, yeah yeah yeah, go for it.
Do your thing. Awesome, awesome.
- Four plus...
- Zac, where are those dice from?
- They were handed to me
by, I think, Rick earlier.
- You guys don't have to
whisper. I'm doing math.
- Did you wanna trade?
- I think those are pretty cool, actually.
I think you would really like those.
- I don't like what's happening.
- Come on, man. Just do it.
- Trade!
- This kinda represents the colored pants.
- Bro, just do it.
- Just trade.
- I just kinda, these are-
- Just trade!
- 40 damage.
[all cheering]
- What does it look like,
[rock music]
these Eldritch Blasts coming
from Fig the Infaethable?
- I think it comes from my bass guitar
and it looks like- it shoots
out a real wiggly musical note.
- Everyone just sees a
treble clef made of energy.
- [Ally] The energy of a noodler.
- Yeah, I've got me
Squeem pedal on right now.
- From beneath your feet, you can hear,
"Yes, Mistress, take us for a walk!"
- And then I'm gonna also,
because that was only a cantrip,
I'm gonna bonus action
Healing Word Fabian.
- Hell yeah, go for it.
- Nice.
- Okay, all right.
I'm gonna do, you know what?
Let's just do a 2nd level.
You feel good about that?
- I feel great about it.
- Nice roll.
- Did he get hurt or something?
- Yeah, so just another 12.
- Okay, great.
- Another 12 HP.
- Tight.
- I thought he meant to go under the van.
- I did! I did, I meant it!
- It was like a somersault.
I would have thought that, too,
but then I heard the
mirror being so upset.
- [Lou] She was upset?
- That's my turn.
- Hell yes, Fig.
[music fades]
Next to you, by the solar lasso,
you see that Squeem turns
to you and goes, "Squeem?"
- Squeem, what?
[heartfelt instrumental]
- Squeem.
- Squeem, what does that mean?
- Squeem puts its head to your head.
- No, Squeem!
Squeem, not like this. Squeem!
- Squeem.
- I'll always remember
what you said to me.
- I yank the hand mirror
so I can see what's going on out there.
- I do a tear.
- A tiny bit of moisture comes
out of the crystalline face
of Squeem's single mono-eye
beam of pink light.
Squeem.
And Squeem leaps off the van.
- [Siobhan] Squeem!
- [Brennan] And is going
to attempt to grapple-
- The guy coming up over there?
- [Brennan] The guy coming up behind you.
He's gonna make a shove attack.
- Squeem, you've given enough already!
- Squeem rolls a natural two, faceplants,
and tumbles into the dust.
- Squeem!
- Wow, he's doing a Fabian.
- Squeem!
- No, Squeem! You're not
as acrobatic as I am!
- Do I open my hand, and
there's a little letter?
- Yeah, the letter has a
small rose drawn in it,
and it says, "Squeem."
- Just ugly crying.
[music fades]
- Adaine Abernant, Elven
Oracle, that is your turn.
- [Siobhan] Okay, let's freaking go.
- [Brennan] This is gonna be
a long one, folks. Strap in.
- It's gonna be a long freaking roll.
Okay, so first of all, each of these,
they're actually dust
mephits, not steam mephits.
I misspoke earlier. I
have a lot of mephits.
So each of them is going to-
- So that's why you're so dusty.
- That's where the dust is coming from.
- Yes, that's where the
dust is coming from.
Do a Blinding Breath.
[quiet adventurous music]
The mephit exhales a 15
foot cone of blinding dust.
Each creature in that area
must succeed on a DC 10
Dexterity saving throw or
be blinded for one minute.
So there's two on each side.
- All around me.
- [Siobhan] So each of
these guys has to make
two DC 10 Dexterity saving throws.
- [Brennan] Each of
who needs to make that?
- So both the mount and
the guy on both sides.
- On both sides, great.
- So every one of those, making two rolls.
- Okay, gotcha.
- For eight total.
- For eight total, and
what's the DC on that?
- 10.
- 10, let's go.
Okay, let's do Yorbie on my left.
Fails twice.
- Yorbie on my left, Yorbie on my right.
- His mount fails once.
Yorbie on my right fails once.
- One, two, three, four!
- Mount fails once.
- They're all blind.
- They all fail at least once,
and the guy on my left fails twice.
- Great, so even if they
fail- doesn't matter.
If they fail, they failed.
- Okay, and they're all blinded?
- So they're blinded. They
can repeat a saving throw
at the end of each of its turns,
ending this effect on a success.
- Actually, I'm just gonna give these
as little status conditions to them.
Blinded. Disadvantage, fellas, sorry.
What does it look like?
By the way, you all see,
resonating with the white,
crackling light of the Elven Oracle,
all these little steamy,
gremlin-like flying imp creatures.
- So I think that they're hanging
onto the side of the Hangvan.
They just put their feet into the ground
and dust just throws up.
- They start scratching
at their eyes as they go,
"The dust of the ground
is the weapon we summon
for our own mistress,
we are made of vapor."
- Okay, you don't need to
talk. You just need to dust.
- How does their voice sound
so wet when they're so dry?
- Sorry, you said dust mephits, right?
- They're dust mephits, yeah.
- Okay, so it's more
like, "Mistress!" [coughs]
Just like when you get a big thing
of Ovaltine or Swiss Miss,
you're like... [coughs]
Cinnamon challenge behavior over here.
- Do you need water?
- They are just doing
the cinnamon challenge.
- Not water! It would destroy me!
- Okay.
- That's just your conjured elementals.
- That's my elementals' turn,
and then I'm going to bonus
action cast True Strike,
because I can do that with my sword,
and I gain advantage
on my first attack roll
against the Night Yorb.
And I am going to cast
Chromatic Orb at a 5th
level, thunder damage.
- Ooh.
- [Ally] Yeah!
- Eldritch Blast does force, right?
- Force, yeah.
- Have we, in our travels,
learned anything about the Night Yorb's-
- Yeah, give me Arcana or Investigation.
- [Siobhan] Great.
That is a 17 Arcana.
- 17 Arcana, I will give
you either immunities
or resistances or vulnerabilities,
but not all three.
- Vulnerabilities, please.
- Vulnerabilities, radiant.
Takes double damage from radiant.
- Ohh!
- Chromatic Orb doesn't do
that, so I will do thunder.
- Okay, cool.
- Rude!
- 16?
- 16 to hit?
- To hit.
- 16 does not hit.
- Damn! Okay.
Well, there we go. That
is it, the end of my turn.
The dust mephits were great.
- I would love for my big bad guy
to not take a 5th level Chromatic Orb,
but you do have Boggy helping you.
- I already rolled with
advantage because of True Strike.
But with True Strike, also,
I have the dodge action.
- Yeah, that's better. Yeah, for sure.
And then your hound is not doing anything
right now either, right?
- The hound is really only
if somebody gets up on-
- Gets up in your grill.
- With us, yeah.
- Hell yeah. Adaine, that is your turn.
The mephits blind the Yorbies
and their mounts surrounding you.
That is going to be Gorgug Thistlespring.
- I think Gorgug is looking around
and seeing all the
blinded people around him
and is like, they're not
maybe as much of a factor
as I thought they would,
and I'm gonna try to
reel in the solar lasso.
I can do that as my turn?
- You can do two attacks
on that, if you want.
- Yeah, so I would just
roll like I did last time?
- Yeah, you're rolling your attack,
and this creature, it's adding plus 12,
but it's rolling disadvantage.
- Come here, big boy.
- So I'll let you know
the first thing you've got to beat.
Okay, 17 is what you've got to beat.
- Okay.
- On the first one.
- I'm not rolling with advantage.
- You could.
- [Emily] You could Reckless.
- You could Reckless.
- Oh yeah, I'll Reckless.
- Go for it.
- Come on!
- Got to beat a 17.
- Come on!
- So I got 13 plus 5, 18 on the first one,
but I'll roll to see if I-
- Roll to see if you crit.
- I did not.
- Okay, so that is a success.
It comes down to 40 feet.
You have 40 feet of slack.
- Come on! I'm gonna go one more time.
- [Brennan] Okay, 4 plus
- 21.
- [Brennan] 21! 35 feet of slack.
- You're going fishing!
- As you're pulling it in,
describe what it looks like
as you're manning this.
- I'm gone fishing.
Pulling it in, kind of
cranking a thing on the side
that pulls the rope in further.
- And the rope is this crackling,
Ghostbusters-esque thing of energy.
- I'm spitting out dust.
- It really is strange.
I think you see there's a huge magazine
where this thing that feels
like it should be a spell effect
is just being wound up like cable,
like a garden hose of pure energy.
- The sooner we get out of here,
the sooner I get all these
people off the top of my van.
- Any bonus actions from Gorgug?
- I think that is it for Gorgug.
- Kristen Applebees, you are up next.
[music fades]
- Great. I'm in the backseat.
I think I kinda dip my head
out the window a little bit,
feel that hot desert
air, and I'm just like,
wow, this is really our last thing
before we go back and start school.
I have a little bit of dread.
I just feel a little bit weird.
- You got the Sunday scaries?
- I have the Sunday
scaries in a major way.
- It's the Sunday scaries
if you worked the weekend.
- You're like, goddammit.
I hear Gorgug saying, gone fishing!
And I just reach my hand out
and kinda touch your foot
and I go
[Zac yelps]
you're k*lling it, buddy.
And I cast Greater Invisibility on you.
- Oh!
- Oh, cool.
- Okay. Gorgug fell off the van!
- Greater Invisibility
will burn concentration.
- I know, so I think I'm gonna get rid of-
- [Murph] The Circle of Power?
Does it work on the van?
- Ooh, great question.
Let me see the card.
Circle of Power. So the
van's not a creature, cool.
- Really? He has a little voice and stuff.
- Well, there's sort of
an angel in the gas tank.
- That's right, we put a crystal in the-
- Zaphriel's in there,
being like, "What's up?
The angel of chill times, what's up?"
- Zaphriel, you ran over
some people pretty hard.
- No, man. Don't put that on me, brother.
- All right, all right, I still say,
you're doing a great
job, but I don't do sh*t.
I'm just kinda touching your foot.
I'm just gonna cast Cure Wounds on myself
because I only have 14
hit points right now.
- Ooh sh*t, okay. Good call.
- I'm sorry, I could've
Healing Worded you.
- Oh no, you're good. I got 22.
- Fabian is maybe...
- It was my pride as well.
It wasn't just HP, you know?
There was more to heal.
- The healing was for your pride.
- You started this season by
getting run over, immediately.
- There's something so
fun to the whole van
and everyone being up
there, and it's just, yeah.
- It's such a status shift,
just following on a motorcycle.
- Exactly. Wait up!
- Then I'm just gonna move
back to the center of the van.
- Any other spells or anything?
Oh, you cured yourself, great.
- Cured myself, touched Gorgug's foot.
- Object interaction, touch Gorgug's foot.
- Oh no, sorry, I'm still at the window
for my Dex save thing
that I can do for the car.
- [Emily] Touch Gorgug's foot.
- [Zac] My dust-covered boot.
- Yeah, I touch it and
then I put my hand down
and went, Jesus Christ.
- Just a lot of this.
- Wiping it on the chairs of the Hangvan.
- Hell yeah, okay.
- Oh, what is that?
- Don't like to see that.
- What the hell is that?
- [Ally] Oh, is that- a piece
of pizza's gonna go on there?
- [Zac] Is that an
invisible piece of pizza?
- [Murph] Go ahead and slap
that piece of pizza down.
- Is that a spell?
- Are you trying to figure out
where the pizza is gonna go on the table?
- It is not a spell.
- What?
- It's a breath weapon.
- Okay, but this would be a
magical effect though, right?
A magical effect for
rolling with advantage,
because of the Circle of Power.
- On our saving throws.
- Yes, this is magical.
- Yeah!
- Correct, correct.
- Glad I didn't just make
Gorgug invisible instead.
- The Night Yorb's turn.
- First turn?
- [Brennan] This is the
Night Yorb's first turn.
It has legendary actions, but-
- [Emily] So it's coming
out of his butt, though.
The breath weapon is
definitely coming out-
- [Siobhan] It's a cold fart.
- [Ally] That's still
breath! That's still breath.
- In inky blackness, a butthole appears.
- You're enveloped in butthole.
- It smells so good.
- What is that?
- 35 feet away.
- [Lou] It's that scene in a movie
where they're like, what's happening?
- [Brennan] Yeah, that's everybody.
Okay, this is gonna take a minute.
- Including me?
- No, you're good. You're golden.
- Are you sure?
- Fabian.
- Would you let me?
- Fabian, you jumped out of the car.
- Well, I was gonna get back in!
I did not jump out of the car.
- He fell out of the car.
- Shatters the mirror immediately.
- [Brennan] Okay.
[Murph gasps]
- Don't you dare.
- Hm?
- Don't you hurt Ecaf.
- I'm gonna need everybody
on top of the Hangvan.
I'm gonna need the Hangvan.
I'll allow Gorgug to roll
Constitution saves for the Hangvan
because you work on it and build it,
and all people within the Hangvan,
I need Constitution saving throws.
- And we roll this with
advantage and with Bless.
- Advantage and Bless, yep.
- Okay, so you've got
the Constitution save,
so there's no Dex save at all.
- f*ck me.
- [Lou] Oh, yuck.
- Oh my god.
- Yuck.
- I'm gonna use a Luck point,
because I rolled so poorly.
- Ooh! Okay.
- So the Hangvan got a 13 on the Con save.
- Okay, that's way better.
- That's not great.
- You've got to throw
them out. Throw them out.
Toss them out, get them out of
there. Get them out of there.
- I'm using my Bardic as well.
- Not too bad.
- 24 for Fig.
- Hell yes.
Also, please roll and just note
down with pencil real quick
any of your allies or conjurations-
- Can I roll for Ecaf?
- Roll for Ecaf.
- [Siobhan] f*ck, the
allies and conjurations.
- Don't use that one!
You're gonna k*ll her.
- Oh my god, what is
going on with my rolls?
[Brennan shaking a handful of dice]
- [Emily] Just use new dice.
Did you roll to see who
was hot and who was-
- [Siobhan] Yes!
- Are you about to sing a song?
I think Brennan's gonna sing a song.
- I might go down anyway.
- Don't worry, guys. I'll save us.
- 38,
- I did not roll great.
- Ecaf's gonna be okay, right?
- Hey.
- I already watched Squeem
die today. I can't also lose-
- Is Squeem dead?
- Is Squeem dead?
- Squeem is absolutely dead.
- Are we sure that Squeem
didn't just need to go home?
- It kinda felt like
Squeem was like, I'm done.
- Let me know if you rolled
under a 19, 18 or lower.
- I did not.
- I did, and also all of my dust mephits.
- Hangvan and Gorgug.
- Hangvan and Gorgug, and Adaine-
- Adaine and all of the dust mephits.
Do I have to roll for Boggy as well?
- Ecaf rolled a 19 on the die.
- Let's go!
- Ooh, Ecaf!
- Okay, Boggy makes it.
- Boggy makes it!
Okay, so Adaine, Gorgug, Hangvan,
all mephits fail.
Kristen?
- 19.
- 19.
- 21.
- 21, okay.
Adaine, Gorgug, the
Hangvan, and the mephits
take 61 points of sonic damage.
- Oh my god, I have one hit point left.
- You are kidding me!
- No, wait, I'm down.
- No!
- I already took those 10 damage.
- Okay, everyone else takes
- Uh-uh. "Additionally, when
an affected creature succeeds
on a saving throw made against
a spell or magical effect
that allows it to take only half damage,
it instead takes no damage if it succeeds
on the saving throw."
- Thank you.
- Huge, huge!
That was totally gonna
break my concentration!
- You were gonna k*ll Ecaf!
- You were coming after
my Hex concentration,
and you didn't get it!
- No!
We've come a long way
from Ice Feast, folks.
- I bought the book!
- I bought the f*cking book!
Ribbon dance this, m*therf*cker! Wow.
- Gorgug's just like, nice, guys!
- So let me be clear.
- Wait!
- What's that?
- Do I have Dodge?
Wait, but I already had
advantage, so it doesn't matter.
- Dodge is only on attacks,
and this is a saving throw.
- f*ck, g*dd*mn.
- Bless would work for
anyone that has Bless.
- I, with Bless and
advantage, rolled a nine.
- It was nasty over here.
- It was really rough.
Every single one of my rolls was very bad.
It was Fabian-level nasty over here.
- Kristen.
- Rude.
- So here's the thing-
- I f*cking Murphed it.
- Boggy and Ecaf would be
obliterated at that damage
and instead are saved.
Can you describe what Kristen's magic
looks like in this moment?
- Yes, Kristen is at the very end
of the yerba mate protein shake
where it's just all sand,
and she doesn't grimace,
kinda like guys when they drink whiskey.
Closes it, sees this
crazy sonic attack coming,
and just kinda flexes a little bit.
Looks down and is like, damn,
I'm getting bigger by the day.
- What the hell are you doing?
- And then I just kinda reach,
whoever's feet I can touch,
I do just kinda reach,
and I'm going, you guys
are doing a great job.
You guys are doing such a great job.
- The idea that your divine magic
now comes from how swole
you're getting is so funny.
- You hear, muffled with your
EarPods, Cassandra being like,
"And if you want any night
magic or anything that would-"
- I think I'm good. I
just, god, I don't know.
I'm just kinda doing
my own thing right now.
I'm just kinda doing my own thing.
I put my EarPods back in.
- Do you want me to theme myself
more around shakes or smoothies?
- My podcast is like, [deep
voice] "And if you wake up
and get natural sunlight in
your eyes within 20 minutes,
it'll really help you stay
motivated throughout the day."
- Incredible. Truly
unbelievable, actually.
- Guys drinking whiskey
is gonna stick with me.
- When you're just like, that's good.
- The strength, being able to finish
the end of a protein
smoothie without wincing.
- I love a drink that's also a dare.
- So Adaine does go down.
- I go down.
- Adaine goes down.
- [Emily] We're gonna
get you back up, girl!
- Boggy and Moggy are both-
- No, Moggy does not go anywhere, b*tch.
Moggy cannot take damage and
is not a concentration spell.
- Let's go, I'm gonna need a
DC 15 Dexterity saving throw
from Gorgug and Fig.
- Okay.
- You guys got this.
- And I can do these with advantage?
- Yep.
- Okay.
- And this is a saving throw,
so I can add the Bless.
- I got a 23.
- [Brennan] Hell yeah.
[gentle instrumental]
- I got a 15 exactly!
- 15, Fig and Gorgug,
as Adaine gets blasted by this-
you see that the Night Yorb
just goes... [mimics eldritch thrumming]
It opens a hole in a membrane
in the bottom of its flat body,
and you just hear the psychic emanations
of darkness beyond life and sonic energy,
the rupturing of your very realm,
and Adaine gets blasted and taken out.
All of the mephits vanish as
the sonic wave hits them all.
However-
- [Siobhan] Dry guys!
- [Emily] My dry guys.
- The dry guys.
- The dry guys?
[inspirational instrumental]
At this same exact instant,
as Adaine goes to fly off
the roof, Gorgug and Fig,
you each reach out and
grab Adaine by the jacket
and keep her from going off the edge.
- I'm holding a little enamel pin.
[music fades]
- Oh, this is cool.
- Gorgug, you take that.
How does Gorgug look? You take
that sonic damage as well.
- I was full health, so I'm at 60.
- Damn, okay. Copy that.
The Hangvan is currently
at 65 HP out of 150,
so the Hangvan is bloodied.
[tense music]
You see all of the glass in
the windows is shattered.
The engine is making a
weird noise. Adaine is down.
One of your sigilists is
down. Things are looking dire.
- Gorgug, how do we heal the Hangvan?
- We take it to a shop
for three to four days,
depending on how busy they are.
- Brennan I hate to be this guy,
but did we hit our mishap threshold?
- You did hit your mishap threshold.
- Murph!
- Teacher?
- I'm gonna need a
Constitution saving throw.
The DC for this is...
So, the Hangvan took 61 points of damage,
so the DC is gonna be 30 on
a Constitution saving throw.
- With my Con.
- With your Con.
- And I can do this with advantage
or no, due to that spell?
- Oh yeah, this is a magical effect,
so you can do this with advantage.
- Come on.
[tense music continues]
Come on!
- Okay.
- Okay, we like that.
- Come on.
- Ooh, we like that.
- It's not gonna be 30, but a dirty 20.
- We're gonna roll a Luck check.
One is body, two is wheels,
three is engine, four is steering.
Three is engine. Something
breaks in the engine, you cannot-
- Can I use-
- Sorry, yeah.
- ...my divination roll on that roll?
- If you replace one of your d20s
with a d4 roll right now, you can.
- Pass.
- Okay.
So the wheels would have slowed you down.
What happens to the engine
is, something busts.
You are going to gas
it every single round.
In other words, you
hear the brake line go.
The van can't stop right now.
- Okay!
- Interesting.
- All right, all right.
- This is kinda like
"Speed", the movie "Speed".
- Yeah, sure.
- I love "Speed".
- It's like "Speed".
Kristen loves "Speed"!
Kristen's seen "Speed"!
- You hear the engine whining.
The Night Yorb has just
dropped the Elven Oracle.
Gorgug is badly injured.
The Yorbies are closing in.
As they do so, you hear
from the distance...
- [Zac] Dad?
[Brennan mimics hooves clopping]
And you hear a noise going,
"Hey kids, you save me some breakfast?"
It's Balthazar and Duggan McCann!
[Western instrumental]
- Oh my god, Balthazar!
[players cheering]
- Duggan! That guy rules!
- Thank god for Balthazar.
- Late as always, g*ng.
- You're like a real guy's guy with them,
and none of us understand how
they can't see through it.
They think you're so cool.
- Riz fully tricked them.
- [Brennan] So yeah,
Balthazar, a grizzled veteran,
and Duggan McCann, a centaur cowboy,
begin to charge through the expanse.
- Oh, thank god.
- Guess they'll let anyone
on this b*ttlefield!
- Who said that?
- Hey, you sh**t six b*ll*ts,
and you sh**t six more!
- Hey! Pow pow pow pow pow pow pow.
Duggan McCann empties his
revolvers into the sky.
- Put b*ll*ts back in!
Put b*ll*ts back in!
- But also sh**t the bad guys, yeah.
- We're gonna go, yeah,
Balthazar and Duggan McCann are gonna go.
- Yeah!
- What's going on up there?
Did somebody show up?
- Yeah, Balthazar and Duggan did!
- Oh! Yes!
- Did you put in your
coffee order with them?
- No!
I didn't know anyone was making a run!
I would have gotten a cortado!
- Adaine, from prone. That's
not what a cortado is.
- I would have gotten a tea-based cortado!
- So Duggan McCann and
Balthazar rush in. Your allies,
your beloved allies from this
great Night Yorb adventure.
- [Emily] Duggan, how are the kids?
- My kids? I'll tell you what.
If you like a hard, stiff drink,
then you'd better go back-
- These are your guys.
- He got older since the
last time we saw him.
- Balthazar is here,
who's this sort of
suave silver fox veteran
who goes, "Don't get Duggan
started on his kids."
Those freeloaders... [mumbling]
Pow, pow, pow, pow!
Duggan is blasted. He's really
drunk on the b*ttlefield.
- His kids are in college.
- Are you even supposed to be doing this?
- He's just like whatever now.
- You see Balthazar is
going to rush up from Duggan
and just wait by the side
of the road right here
and holds a hand out like
he's gonna grab the van.
- We are going 160 and
we're only gunning it.
- We don't have brakes anymore, Balthazar.
- You see he says, "You
took the brakes off?
Hey, this group took the brakes
off a long time ago. Hey!"
- Be careful, though.
- I lean out the other window like this,
like I'm going to-
- You're gonna get him?
Incredible. No ability for
the Hangvan to slow down.
You hear Zaphriel say, "Guys,
it feels pretty bad in here."
- Okay, what are you gonna do about it?
- I don't know, I'm in a gem,
so I'll probably be chill,
but I'm worried about you.
- My dad's been in a lot of gems.
- Wow, sick, and I'm sorry.
You see the Night Yorb pulling ahead
as the slack goes tauter and tauter
and a giant jump up ahead of
you as you begin to pursue.
Question for the blindness,
does that go away when
the mephits go away?
- I don't believe so. It's
not a concentration spell.
It's actually not a spell.
- It's just an effect?
- It's Blinding Breath. It's an effect.
- Okay, so those Yorbies are
effectively taken out of combat
because this combat is
in a chase. So blind,
they can't pursue you, and
they're just left in the dust.
- Hell yeah. I did something, guys!
I did something this fight! I was good!
- I was good! Please
believe me, I was good!
- Adaine's murmuring in her sleep.
- Which one? Which Adaine?
- They're all murmuring!
- They all follow my exact movements.
- Riz Gukgak, you are next to act.
- Oh boy. Okay.
Out of character, does the Night Yorb
look like it's healed
up at all or anything?
- Yeah, how would it look
after the 40 damage that I did?
- Fig put it, I would say,
solidly under bloodied, right?
It's looking strong and
vital, but it's having
one of the most terrible
days it can remember.
- It's a vulture!
- Okay.
- [Siobhan] Yeah, I know.
That's probably the real-
- [Lou] That's rude, Rick.
That's straight-up rude.
- [Zac] Rick knows.
- ...NY.
- [Murph] Okay, so there is
still one person there, though,
chasing us, or are they out?
- There's one on this side.
- [Ally] We're flanked.
- No, those are the guys from before
that you did not run over,
who are keeping abreast-
- [Siobhan] This guy you did
a lot of damage to already.
- Yes, he's very, very wounded.
- Okay, so I should just
get rid of that dude.
- You could sh**t the
vulture, but that seems-
- At least investigate the vulture.
- Guys, what if the vulture
is the Night Yorb's heart?
- I'm gonna resist attacking the vulture.
- This is me, Zac, saying Night Yorb.
- And I'm gonna attack the
guy that I already hurt.
- Go for it. Give me an attack roll.
- Okay, so I guess I'll do my
little move of hiding first.
- [Brennan] Hell yeah, go for it.
- And that's a 22 to hide.
- Great.
- And then I will pop out from
the position of the pedals,
and that's a 20 to hit.
- 20 hits.
- Hya!
- Hya!
- Hya!
- [Murph] And I will do all my damage.
- Go for it.
- 23 damage.
- You blast that Yorbie in the chest.
I remember the Night Yorb!
- No, don't say that!
- Night Yorb!
- The thing, the thing!
- Yell over it!
- Toast, blam.
[bass-heavy instrumental]
That's action, bonus action from Riz.
You all see, at the end
of Riz's turn, Balthazar,
with a hand up, makes eye
contact with you, Fabian,
in the back racing up and
says, "Dawdling again?
What, are we back in Sylvaire?"
- Oh, come on, Big B!
I'm doing the best I can!
- Hey, I've seen... [grunts]
And the Night Yorb's tail grabs Balthazar
and whips him up-
[players screaming]
- Big B!
- Balthazar!
- Whoa! This bull's ready to buck!
- [Emily] You never gave
me your chili recipe!
- Can you go ahead and Blu Tack Balthazar
to the end of the Night Yorb's tail?
- I just snapped-
- Balthazar right in half.
Just put the Blu Tack on his back.
He's being held from the midsection.
- God, he's hot, dude.
- [Siobhan] So hot.
- He's been hot this whole time.
- Of course.
- Balthazar goes, "Don't
worry about me, hoss!
Take care of business, I'll
take care of the Night Yorb."
- Hey, you got it, Big B!
- Don't say it, man!
- Night Yorb heals five hit points.
- What? No!
- No!
- Balthazar!
- You can't use your NPCs!
- Sorry! Balthazar forgot!
[bass instrumental continues]
- Your face when when you go... [sigh]
He gains five hit points.
- Sorry, there's nothing I can do.
Still bloodied, still bloodied.
Fabian, that's your turn.
- Well, I think I'm gonna navigate through
all the blood and bodies that
Riz is leaving in his wake
as I desperately try and catch up.
I'm gonna use the Hangman's full movement
to hopefully catch up to the Hangvan,
and I'd like to pull up alongside
on the back right of the Hangvan.
So this person is not blinded,
they're in our business?
- Yes, they're in your
business, fully competent.
- Great, I'm gonna attack their mount
with Fandrangor.
- Yeah, baby!
- Fandrangor, the Sword
of the Elven Kings.
Go for it, Fabian.
- Great.
That's gonna be a 32 to hit.
- 32 hits.
- Okay. 32 misses?
A 16 on the mount.
- Wow, okay. On the mount.
A 32 and a 16. Both hit.
- Great, we're gonna make this first one,
add a superiority die,
make it a trip attack.
- Let's go.
- As much as I can do.
And on top of that, I will
burn a 2nd level spell
to add 2d6 from Fandrangor
that are radiant.
- Yes, great.
- So, seven.
- 26!
- There it is.
- Fabian, not only do you
m*rder this giant bug,
but also, it trips under
the skill of your blade.
Describe it for me, what it looks like.
- [Lou] I stab the mount hard.
- I'm gonna roll a Dex save for this rider
as his mount gets swiped
out from under him.
- Fail!
- 19.
- No!
- He makes it.
You see that he clings to
the side of the Hangvan
as his mount goes out from under him,
but you have a second attack.
- Oh, I used it on...
I didn't know. I rolled both attacks.
- Okay, and did all that damage.
- Yes.
- Gotcha, copy that.
- That was only one
attack's worth of damage,
but I had rolled both attacks.
- Okay, so the second attack
would also hit this Yorbie
that leaps from the mount
to cling to the side of the-
- Great, I'll use the damage
on him, if that's all right.
- Cool, yeah, what's the damage?
- Let's see. We'll burn a 1st level spell.
How do you feel about 20 points of damage?
- [Brennan] Ooh! You slap him.
- Ooh, I feel good about it.
- He is looking badly injured
as he exposes his back to you,
hanging onto the side of the moving van,
and you score across, and he
is looking on death's door.
Actually, yeah, Blu Tack him
to the side of the van, great.
And then the bug is gone.
- Great, and can I use
my movement to jump...
I know it's crazy. Hey, I
know it didn't work last time.
Can I use my movement
to jump into the van?
- Oh lord.
- Give me an Acrobatic check, DC 15.
- [Emily] Okay.
[music ends]
- It's gonna be okay.
- Okay!
- I'm glad. Yeah.
- It's gonna be all right.
- I'm glad that we're all back.
- I'm switching the dice.
- I'm glad that we're all back.
- Okay, there we go.
- That is a
- Oh!
- 21. Hell yes.
- I was trying to read your reaction.
- I've never been so relieved by an eight.
- I jump in. Ecaf!
Crawling over seats.
Ecaf, are you all right?
- Ecaf, are you okay?
Let me go ahead and give you your mini
as you get back in the van.
- Switching minis?
- Switching minis out.
Actually, keep these
with you, if you want.
Keep them in the little
side of your, you know...
'Cause you're gonna be switching.
- I'mma be switching.
- Ecaf turns to you and says,
"Master Seacaster, what a daring gambit."
[instrumental battle music]
- Well, we're here saving the world
so that there's a world for the two of us
after all of this is over,
after we deal with that thing.
- Can I do an Insight check on Ecaf?
- Yeah.
- What's going on here?
- Yeah, Ecaf mourned Fabian too quickly.
- That is a-
- Is Ecaf gonna turn on us?
- That's really good. That's a 28.
- 28.
- I would never believe that Ecaf-
- In your Night Yorb
adventure, Ecaf came aboard,
and tends to just reflect
whatever energy they're getting.
They're a mirror, right?
- Okay, great. Okay, great.
Kinda code switchy.
- So what happened is,
whatever energy you
project onto the mirror,
she kinda projects back,
and Fabian just gave
a lot of flirty energy to
this mirror right away,
and the mirror went, I guess
this is what this guy wants.
- Okay, that's checks
out. That's not nefarious.
- Fabian's having his
own Narcissus mythology.
- Yeah, exactly.
- What?
- Incredible. Anything else from Fabian?
- I mean, I'm back with Ecaf,
and that's everything that
matters to me in the world.
Great turn, all in all.
- Great turn, all in all.
- You're just hard for a mirror.
- Hard for your own reflection.
- It's a soft focus, it's an 11! An 11!
- Just a semi-chub.
- Yeah, exactly.
- Oh my god.
- It doesn't look exactly like me.
- After your turn, Fabian,
the Night Yorb whips its tail
around and moves Balthazar
to the underbelly of its nightly body.
- No! Balthazar!
- Balthazar says, [chuckles]
"I don't think... [screams]
It's so cold!" And Balthazar is gone.
- No!
- Balthazar!
- Big B!
- Balthazar!
- You m*therf*cker!
- Big B!
- The Night Yorb goes [gibbers]
and continues to fly through the sky.
Balthazar vanishes into the darkness.
- Who's gonna take care of his parrots?
- Gosh, they live so long,
too! Parrots live so long!
- They were six months old!
- Duggan goes, "Dang you
straight to hell, you big fish."
- [Indistinct] six month old parrots?
- You continue moving along.
Balthazar is no more. Balthazar is gone.
- [Lou] Pour one out for Big B.
- Leaving a litter of six
month old parrots behind.
- That's gonna be a long time,
someone's got to take care of-
- Well-
- Maybe we could send
them to the elven island.
- [Brennan] That is
going to be the Yorbies.
The Yorbie on the van is going to attempt
an Athletics check to get up.
He rolls a natural one, falls down.
Rolls a six, crushed
by the van. He is gone.
- What was your name?
- I think all of you in this
moment where Balthazar is gone,
this guy gets sucked under the van,
there's just a pause for a moment.
[music ends]
All of you hear your
heartbeats in your ears.
In the distance, you hear Squeem going
[Brennan squeems]
as Yorbies descend on Squeem.
- No!
- Squeem!
- And in this moment of strangeness,
all of you hear a [mimics phones dinging]
on your crystals, on all of your crystals.
All of you have gotten a notification
from the admin's email account
from the Aguefort
Adventuring Academy, saying,
"What a great end to orientation week
ahead of this next wonderful year
at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy."
- Wait, what? We missed it?
- Well, orientation week
is for new students,
but you're realizing that
you're in the Red Waste,
and basically, you have three days
before the start of your junior year.
- Okay.
- Damn.
- A literal buzzkill.
- I just kinda can't really
look at this right now.
- Yeah.
[battle music resumes]
- I'm just gonna throw my phone
under the wheel of the car.
- You throw it under the wheel,
and it bounces behind you,
and you see Squeem picks it up
and turns it into a saber of light!
Squeem!
- [Ally] He's so resourceful.
- A much better use for it.
- Okay, rushing from behind the rocks,
Yorbies.
More Yorbies come to attack.
These ones are gonna rush out here.
This one runs besides its fin.
And following them, riding
giant floating tentacled heads-
- What?
- ...are more Yorbies.
They come flying out.
- Freaky.
- [Siobhan] I love that this
guy is on a recumbent bug.
- [Brennan] Yes.
- It's actually much better for your back.
- Unbelievable.
- Oh my god.
- Okay, this guy jumps up on here,
readies an action, and
they are going to attack.
One of them in the back that's riding
one of these giant
floating aberration heads
that are called yathmags
calls out and says-
- Did you say "yas queen?"
- Yathmags.
- Yath, mags!
- I had the same thought.
- Not that similar.
- I'm so sorry-
- No, no, no!
I had the same thought!
- It sounds like you just
said yas queen. I don't know.
- It sounded just like it.
- Yathmag? Yas queen.
- Murph gets it, Murph gets
it. Murph gets the struggle.
As a guy who has to make up a
lot of f*cking names for sh*t,
I know you get where I'm coming from.
- It's the ya for me. It's the ya.
- The Hangvan, once again.
That is a hit.
- From which one of the yas queens?
- That's a hit. That's two hits.
- Okay.
- I don't know what kinda
damage they do, so I'm like,
do I Silvery Barbs?
- That's a miss.
No crits though, and that damage
threshold's pretty helpful,
but I rolled two eights on the damage,
so the Hangvan's gonna
take 24 points of damage.
- We're pretty low.
- Not a mishap, though. Not a mishap.
- What were we at?
- 65.
- Okay.
- And then minus 24.
- 41 HP on the Hangvan.
They're also all going
to chant all together,
"We love the Night Yorb!"
- Oh my god.
- And the Night Yorb
is gonna heal some HP.
- Does anyone have some
Silence to cast on him
so that he can't freaking
hear his own freaking name?
You've been obsessed with
yourself, Night Yorb.
- The Night Yorb pops back above bloodied,
still very, very injured.
- And bloodied is the
status we need him at
to do the sigil.
- Yes, yes yes yes.
- Okay, so we need to do more
damage on the Night Yorb.
- [Brennan] I'm gonna need
two driver's Dexterity checks
for the ants that are going to attack.
- Great.
- The big ol' bugs.
- So I have disadvantage on these now.
- Oh no, it's a reroll.
- We do potentially have a reroll.
Wait, and we have...
Does Bless bless saving throws?
- These are non-magical,
and Bless is not on the van.
- Right. 16.
- 16? Okay, succeeds.
Roll again.
- 16.
- Nice.
- Awesome.
- Nice.
- Okay, so only 10 damage to the Hangvan.
The Hangvan's at 31 out of 150.
- Who is she?
- Who is she?
- 31.
- Who is she? 31 out of 150.
- Okay.
- And then the yathmags are going to go.
[Murph giggling]
They are gonna target the driver.
They're gonna target Riz.
You see both of these heads
just open and go [choking]
'Cause they have no real lungs
to create bigger vocal cords
so there's just sort
of a slapping wet noise
in the back of their-
- So they can't be saying,
if they have no lungs,
they can't be saying-
- Let me be clear, the
yathmags are more like the ants
than they are like the Yorbies.
- Okay, okay.
- Is this an attack, or
is this an attack roll?
- A disintegration effect
is coming towards you.
- Disintegration effect or spell?
- It is magical, but not a spell.
- And not an attack roll.
- I'm gonna need two
Dexterity saving throws,
[tense music]
and these are not the van.
This is Riz having to make this.
- That's pretty good for me. Okay.
Oh, and then Bless.
- Did you ever use that Silvery
Barbs advantage I gave you?
- No, I haven't. I
should probably do that.
I think it's on the next one,
so I should use it on this one anyway.
Okay, that makes it, yeah
A 32.
- Nice.
- Okay, 32.
And the other save as well?
- And then the other save.
Ooh, great.
- Hell yeah.
- 90 points of force damage
that you do not take half of, because...
That you do not take half of.
- Circle of Power, bro!
- It's actually about the
f*cking Circle of Power,
and actually, all of you-
- It's about the core!
- All of you are in the
Circle of Power with me.
- I pat your shoulders way too hard.
I'm like, yeah, Riz! Yeah, Riz!
- You hear a little
voice in your ear going,
"This would be a great
time to talk to them,
that the power is actually
coming from a god,
if any of them wanted
to come by your church.
You know, it just feels like, I mean,
I don't wanna be pushy but, you know."
- I just make a mental note
to have a really intense
conversation with
Cassandra when I get back.
- Intense!
- Incredible.
We are going to move. It is
once again the lair action.
We turn it over to the
lair action for all of you.
- Okay, okay.
- I think I have to g*n
it, because of the engine.
- Yeah, you have to g*n it.
- Yeah, g*n it.
See if you can get us
under there, 'cause...
Oh, he's freaking not bloodied.
- [Brennan] I will say, if you have-
- He's not bloodied, but we can hurt him.
- If you have any proficiency
with tinkerers' tools
or other stuff like that, if you do,
you could try to mend the
Hangvan, at least partially.
- I have thieves' tools?
- Yeah, I would allow that.
- Okay, rad. I have very
high thieves' tools, plus 14.
- I'm gonna say you add
your Intelligence modifier
to this roll, and if you get 10 it's a d8,
if you get 15 it's 2d8,
if you get 20 it's 3d8,
going up as high as you can roll.
- So I'm just adding my Intelligence,
I'm not doing my thieves' tools?
- No, do your thieves' tools for the roll,
and then when you heal,
you'll add your Int mod.
- Got it, got it, got it. Okay, come on.
Okay, 22.
- 22, go ahead and roll.
That's going to be 3d8 plus your Int mod.
- Cool.
- Yes.
- 17 total.
- Hell yes.
Hangvan, back at 48.
So you hear Zaphriel going,
"I don't know what you're
doing down there, brother,
but it feels good."
- Ew!
- All right.
- Okay.
- Fix me, brother. Fix me.
- All right, The Ball.
- I don't know what you're
doing down there, brother,
but you're fixing me.
- I put in Kristen's
headphones and keep working.
- You feel Riz take your headphones out.
- Hey!
- Okay, that's one car action.
Any other car actions up here?
[instrumental battle music]
- I think we have a question,
which is, are we now,
I know that he's not bloodied,
but are we within range to try to sigil?
- You're 35, so it's
got to get down to five.
It's got to be five feet away.
- Okay, so never mind. Never mind, then.
- We're gunning it right now, so.
- You're gunning it, yeah, it's true.
- So I will use my action-
- Use your free action.
- ...to pull the lasso.
- And it's still rolling
with disadvantage.
Wow, you dodge a nat 20.
You've got to beat a 21.
- And I can do this with advantage, right?
- [Brennan] Yes, it's Reckless.
- I got a 21 plus 5, 26.
- Yes!
- 26. It's is 30 feet away.
- Yes!
- As you reel it in, Fabian, you're in.
You guys are both passengering
or windowing right now?
- Yeah, I would say I'm window.
- I'm window.
- Cool, cool, cool.
Up on top, there's no,
I don't think any Night Yorb
effects are active right now.
I would allow you to see
if you could do anything about Balthazar.
- Yeah, I'll do that.
- Yeah, go ahead and give me,
you're just making a spell attack
and trying to beat a DC 17.
- 13 plus 9, 22!
Balthazar, you've got a litter
of six month old parrots
squawking for you!
I'm not giving up!
- You can't put that on us!
- You can't put that on us, Balthazar.
- What are we going to do
with a litter of parrots?
- We can't raise those parrots!
- They'll outlive us, Balthazar!
- [Murph] They're going
to outlive some of us.
- They live 90 years!
- You reach out. You summon the sigil.
You see that the Night Yorb goes [burps]
and a splat of inky
darkness hits the road.
Balthazar's shadow,
stretched out on the road
with no Balthazar, makes an image
like someone shrieking to the sky
and sprints into the
desert faster than light.
- What?
- He's running to his parrots!
- Have we seen him do that before?
- I pull out my compass.
I think it's a beeline
straight for the parrots.
- He must be an Echo Knight fighter.
- Incredible. Okay, that is
the turn from the Hangvan.
Ecaf is going to give the Help action
once again to Riz for your next turn.
Sorry, you're back in there, right?
Ecaf's going to give you the Help action.
- No, no, give it to The Ball.
- Are you sure?
- Yes.
- I can give it to anyone you want.
- I think I kinda pop
out a lot, so it's okay.
- Yeah, you've been doing a lot.
- It's fine, you two do whatever you want.
- I'm generous like that.
- Well then, let me be generous
as well. And comes over.
- [Emily] Does it smell
in the car at this point?
- Thunks into your head a
little bit as a floating mirror.
- I'd do anything to get out of this car.
- And that is going to be
Figueroth Faeth's turn.
- Okay, we still wanna keep working,
chipping away at this guy,
so I'm gonna just try
to Eldritch Blast him
and then Healing Word my girl.
That is a 22 to hit on the first one.
- [Brennan] Hell yeah.
- And a nat one, but
I'm gonna Luck check it.
- Hell yes.
- Luck check it!
- That is a two. Okay, so I only hit once.
- What is that?
- I think that's a six.
Yeah, six, seven.
- How convenient.
- 16 damage, and then
I'm gonna bonus action
Healing Word Adaine.
Adaine, you're back up.
- Thank god!
- With nine.
- Hell yeah.
- I'll take it.
- Fig, at the end of your turn,
I am going to need everybody here
to roll a Wisdom saving throw.
- What?
- With Bless.
- And advantage, right, because of the-
- With advantage, yes.
- Oh, with advantage?
Because it's a spell? Geez Louise!
- That is a dirty 20.
- Dirty 20.
- Dirty 20.
- 12.
- 16.
- Nat 20.
- 15.
- Love it, so anyone under
a 17, which is Fabian-
- Actually, I have a Bardic.
I'm gonna use the Bardic.
So I need to get a two or higher, please.
Two.
- Got that two!
- [Brennan] You got
that two. What was that?
- 17.
- 17. Riz, driving this thing.
The Night Yorb surges
forward. It is now only 30...
It surges here.
- Oh no.
- It surges forward,
pulling the van behind it.
The van's going to make a jump.
I'm going to need a
Dexterity save from you,
which you will not roll with disadvantage
because you made your Wisdom save,
but go ahead and give
me the Dexterity save.
- Okay.
- The DC for this is 22.
- Okay, okay.
- You got it. You got it, baby.
- We got it, we got this.
- You've had it.
- You've always had it.
- You were born with it.
- Okay, and then I can use Bless?
- Yeah.
- Right now I've got a 19.
So a three or a four does it.
[music fades]
- Come on, come on!
- I'm sorry, Murph.
- Okay.
- Here you go.
- We're gonna use the little beans.
- Yeah, we're gonna use the little beans!
- [Brennan] Three or four does it.
- Murph's little beans,
Murph's little beans,
Murph's little beans!
[tense music]
It's a two.
- No!
- It felt like a four for a hot second.
- It really did. The
beans were in the way.
- Yes.
- The beans!
- The damn beans threw the weight off!
- It is weighted. It's
absolutely weighted.
- Here's what happens. Riz,
you dodge the fear effect.
So you don't roll with disadvantage,
but you're still gassing it,
you can't stop gassing it.
The van takes this jump,
and even though you
have good control of it,
it's just that you're
so airborne for so long
that a slight spiral is gonna
have you land on your side.
[tense music]
You watch the Night Yorb
whipping its tail around,
and in the distance, you see a tall tower,
and you hear chanting.
Night Yorb, Night Yorb!
- No!
- As that begins to happen,
you see that there is
an arch in the distance,
rock towers.
This guy leaps up to kick this over.
[Siobhan gasps]
And as he does so,
welcoming his own death,
this begins to fall into your path
as he looks to jump into
the wheels of the van,
going, "Night Yorb, I love you!"
The van takes off with the
rock coming to crash it,
twisting sideways, the
Night Yorb pulling it ahead,
[battle music]
Kristen, you save on the fear effect.
Fabian, where do you go in
your heart as dread takes over?
- If I'm immune to being frightened-
- Then you are not frightened at all!
Describe it, as your father's eyepatch-
- That's cool, dude. That's cool.
- I think there's just
an aura that's like,
when things get tough, it's not fear.
It's f*cking- we bite down now!
I think there's just more-
my whole body goes tense
with a desire to act.
- Adaine, fear. How do you
feel as the fear takes hold?
- The panic attack rising in my chest.
[music fades]
- Yes, you feel a panic
attack rising in your chest.
And I'm going to say that
as the battle continues,
that we will bring that
mechanic back into play
as the frightened condition overwhelms-
[heartbeat pulsing]
- I suddenly realize I'm
riding on the top of a van.
Oh f*ck! Oh my god!
- [Brennan] Oh my god,
what the f*ck am I doing?
- What am I doing?
- Gorgug.
- I beat it.
- You beat it. So you're just
holding onto the solar lasso,
but you can feel this plan
about to end horribly.
If the van lands on its side-
the solar lasso is only as
strong as the roof of the van.
The Night Yorb, if the
van's not keeping pace,
will just rip the lasso off
and fly off into the f*cking sky.
As you feel the van tilting, Fig?
- I passed.
[drumbeat and heartbeat]
- You feel something.
You look, the Night Yorb twinkling.
You've spent your whole
summer chasing this.
You know all of the things you've missed.
Your whole summer vacation,
all of your friends.
Some of you had birthdays out
on the road on this adventure,
and yeah, there's lots of
adventure, but all of you
feel a tiredness in your bones
knowing that the reward for
saving the world yet again
will be going back to school and having
another year of working
just this hard forever.
Fig, all of this work is about to be lost.
Deep within you, in your fiery heart,
you feel something flickering.
You've been holding onto a
piece of magic for a long time,
a flicker of... [mimics
mystical susurration]
If you would take me, you
know what you would save.
And you smell something sour and curdled.
[quiet rock music]
- Okay.
- If you reach to this source of magic,
I will allow a chance to right the Hangvan
and dodge the falling rock.
- I come from Hell. We
make deals with devils.
I'm already f*cking exhausted.
I need this to be over.
I'm yours.
- Adaine and Gorgug, in all of the chaos,
there is a flash of light,
a kind of lemony yellow
creamy light that flashes
out over the Hangvan.
The rock is stopped in time
and blasted away and the Hangvan rights.
It will land on its
wheels, as all of you hear
a sickening gurgle from Fig's stomach.
And that's all for this episode-
- What the f*ck?
- ...of "Dimension 20: Fantasy High".
Tune in next week as we see what deal
with what devil Figueroth Faeth made,
and we see if we can catch the Night Yorb!
It's coming for us.
- Oh no!
[music fades]
[adventurous music]
- [Lou] Ecaf, you stay here.
I don't want you in danger.
Beauty like yours needs to be protected.
- Master, it's go time. Let's go.
- Is it...
I shouldn't.
I just thought maybe I'd steal...
No.
- Oh god!
- No, it's not right.
- Kristen, please.
Please give me your EarPods. Please.
- There will be plenty of time for that
after we defeat the Night Yorb!
- Gorgug, you good?
- Yeah, yeah.
- Okay.
Gorgug, do you have your outfit picked out
for the first day of school?
- Please don't mention-
- I wouldn't pay you to
lick the dust off my d*ck.
- Duggan!
- Duggan.
- [wails mournfully] Balthazar!
- [Murph] Hell yeah!
- The Night Yorb, it was-
[blade stabbing]
- You didn't have to do it!
You could have had an ice cream!
I want to go home!
- Doesn't it feel like our
dice are sh1tting on us?
- Come here. Just look at me.
- [Brennan] Hit.
- No, it's okay!
- [Brennan] Crit.
- Don't look at me!
- Who do I look at?
- Look somewhere else! I don't know!
- Save me!
- Stay with me!
- You know, it's fun to yell at me
because you can't yell at your own dice,
and I get it, I do get it.
There's a lot going on and, you know,
you're under a lot of pressure. [grunting]
You see a little ribbon of red,
something sharp, move through her body.
[Brennan gasping]
- What?
- Can I roll a nat 20,
and everything just goes away?
- Start over.
- Wake up from the terrible nightmare
that Adaine was having.
- Does no one respect the fact
that it takes time to save the world?
- I don't trust you.
- Good looking out, Beardsley.
You gotta stay awake here
in the dome, m*therf*ckers!
