[dramatic instrumental music]

- In the world of Spyre
did prophecy foretell

that the dragon Kalvaxus would
rise to power when once more

were seven maidens chained
at the mouth of his cave.

What the prophecy could not predict

was what The Seven had
in store for the world.

United by prophecy, bound by
friendship, the Seven Maidens

would quickly become one
of Spyre's premier parties

of teen heroes and all-star students

at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy.

Hello one and all!

And welcome back to
another thrilling episode

of Dimension 20: The Seven.

I'm your humble dungeon
master Brennan Lee Mulligan.

With me as always are our
Heroic High Schoolers.

Say hi, Heroic High Schoolers.

- [Players] Hi, Heroic High Schoolers.

- Were you doing a bit about-
[Isabella mimicking Brennan]

[Brennan laughing]

- We didn't create this bit,

we just have to maintain this bit.

- [Players] Yeah.

- I'm being roasted.
[fan slaps open]

[players cheering]

g*ng, last we left off the Seven Maidens

had just defeated the Harpy Queen

and her general, Kuragran.

High atop the Mountains of Chaos

on the bridges of the
Temple of the Earth Defiant

where we now find our
Heroic High Schoolers

mounted atop some of Katja's finest horses

here in the sanctum where
no evil being may tread,

hallowed as it is by Dwarven
clerics in ages long past.

This temple being the last known location

of the superintendent

of the Solesian School
System, Tectonya Karkovnya.

We find ourselves here
in front of the statue

of Kora Ironbrow astride

her incredible magical combat wheelchair,

two scimitars in her hands,

and some really lovely muttonchops.

Ostentatia, you hear your spell continuing

of Animate Objects back
with Asha Hammerheart

as she stands in the midst of that cave

just swatting ether beasts off the bridge.

And eventually hear
sort of the ether beasts

and other harpies that
are swarming around here,

some more harpies sort of
flit around the sanctum.

[screeches] But having
seen their queen destroyed

and unable to enter the
temple they begin to fly back

to their perch and we see
these other ether beasts

sort of turn and begin to
depart from this place.

You are all left here in safety,

having fought your way to the very summit

of the Temple of the Earth Defiant.

What do you do?

- Okay, couple things.
- Yeah?

- You're all amazing, you're all-

- [Players] No, you're amazing.

- You are amazing.
- Yeah.

- This wasn't fishing for compliments.

- You're amazing.
- You're amazing.

- Yes, amazing.
- Candyheart, you're amazing.

- Oh, our horses are-
- You are amazing, Elegonia.

- Cinnamon looks up and
says, [sighs] "Fellow horses,

you have done a great deed this day.

You have each protected your noble rider.

It is in this moment that I must say

I have never been more proud

of my fellow equine adventurers."

And you see that-

- Are they their own adventuring party?

- Oh my God!
[group laughing]

- They perform the deeds of steeds.

- Cinnamon, Cinnamon, do
you guys have to do a GED?

- What's that?

- Do you have to complete a GED?

- My God, perhaps we do.

Coming next season,
Magical Horse Adventure,

Dimension 20's newest side quest.

[players laughing]

You see that Cinnamon says,

"You have done admirably this day."

Candyheart goes, "Well, if you say so."

And Taffodil looks at you and says,

"I guess Cinnamon missed

when I almost fell off that bridge."

- Don't worry, sweetie,
we all have off days.

I pet the horse.

- Well, you are just the
sweetest thing, I appreciate it.

Lord knows my self esteem
could use a little pick-me-up.

- You're perfect!
[group laughing]

- You're beautiful, don't
ever sell yourself short.

- Neigh.
- All right, well,

now that the classic
postmortem is out of the way,

I just want to say that
that was real f*cked.

That was real f*cked
and something's wonky.

Animals are getting
mashed up every which way

and you know, I'm pretty banged up.

Anybody else?
- [Aabria] Oh, can I-

- Anybody else?

- I can do something about that.

- [Isabella] I could as well.
- Awesome.

Also, I clocked, like, a harpy nest

with a bunch of cool crap in it.

- So let's go check it out.
- I saw a lot of crap, too.

- Oh my gosh, does this mean
there'll be climbing involved?

- I mean, I can fly up.

- Do we want to take a
break before we go explore

'cause also Ostentatia, are
we allowed to go explore?

Is it weird that I'm asking you?

Am I r*cist for asking you
'cause we're in a Dwarf-

- It's so important
we're talking about this.

- It's so important, it's so important.

I also have no idea.
[players laughing]

I don't think it's-
- [Rekha] Culturally Dwarven.

- But I don't know if it's,

I don't think it's bad if we explore.

Let me just take a second.
- [Brennan] Give me-

- I would also like to Mass Healing Word.

- Amazing!
[choir harmonizing]

I'm gonna say that actually Ostentatia,

here in this hallowed place,
one of the hallow effects

on the sanctum, as you
go to Mass Healing Word

is that the Mass Healing
Word that Ostentatia casts

in this sacred place takes
the effect of a short rest

so not only do you get
whatever Ostentatia rolls,

all of you also through Ostentatia's magic

can spend hit dice to get
yourself back up to full.

We can assume that you
all are back up at full.

- So who's f*cked up?

Danielle is f*cked up.
- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Katja is f*cked up.
- I'm f*cked up.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- And did anybody else take damage?

- I don't have a drop of harpy blood.

- Oh wait, the horses,
the horses are hurt.

- [Rekha] Oh my God, our horses.

- [Persephone] The horses are so hurt.

- [Becca] My horse is hurt.
- Cinnamon.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

- She lost 10 hit points.
- Okay.

[Aabria laughing]

So I just do beep boop beep
boop beep boop beep boop

beep boop beep.
[die taps table]

Um, plus my spellcasting
ability modifier is five

so that's six.
- Six, so six hit points.

- Everyone only gets six hit points.

- But the horses actually all
get back to full with that.

And again, anyone who doesn't
get back to full with that

is allowed to spend their own hit dice

because the temple is
magnifying Ostentatia's magic.

Ostentatia, give me a
little religion check

if you'd be so kind.

- 12.
- 12, so obviously you are a,

you're a young Dwarven priestess

and on a 12

you know that this is a holy site

and it shouldn't be defaced
or disrespected in any way.

You see that there's some
rubble around if you look here

from like wear and tear.

From your earlier research you know

that part of the
pilgrimage people make here

to the Temple of the Earth
Defiant is specifically to,

if you are a pilgrim here
you're supposed to come here

and help repair this place.

Like, a lot of the rubble is
just from wind and storms.

And the whole point of being
here is sort of to like,

that you come on a holy
journey here to a place

that for dwarves is very hard to get to

to walk up into the mountains
and be out in the sky

exposed to the elements.

And the whole point is that, again,

like the word defiant is literally like

defying the erosion of the wind

to keep something in and of its shape.

- Could I cast Mending
wherever it's needed?

- Oh.
- Yeah, I think you actually-

- Your ancestors would be so proud.

- You actually see, Ostentatia,
as you begin to go around

there's rubble on the ground here.

You cast a mending spell and you see

that some of the rocks begin
to form back into the columns.

You take your hammer out and
some of your mason's tools

and begin to fix this place here.

As you do so-
- If anybody feels

like they want to help...
- Yeah.

- No, you're doing a really good job

and we just want to
watch and cheer. [claps]

- All right.
- So I'll, yeah.

Danielle will use

Speak With Plants and
everything at her disposal

to help coax vegetation to grow back

and to cover up the cracks,
flowers bloom in the rubble.

- [Brennan] Amazing.

- If there were any tomato vines,

I could cook us up something.
- Oh my God.

There's like little
Alliums of garlic Allium

and like chives grow.
- Oh, this is perfect.

- And like bulbs of garlic spring up.

- Oh my God.

- Tomato vines grow over the archways.

- A pasta plant.

- Yeah, there's like a little herb garden.

- Ooh, this one's got cheese
already on the macaroni.

- Oh my God, this one has tortellini.

- There's... [laughs]
- [Aabria] It's so specific.

- There's basil and oregano and...

- Is that already preset in TaleSpire?

- [Brennan] Yeah, we have that.

- Do we have a tortellini
bush in TaleSpire?

- Yeah, Hanan, if you're listening,

let's get some tomato vines up in here.

[players laughing]
- So I think,

so Sam can't really do
much as far as repairs go,

but this place is covered in snow

and probably has a ton of
water damage and erosion.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- So I'm going to use shape
water to pull moisture

from the stone and also
clean up the area around it

so that there's not any like...

- Amazing.

- We are nesting so hard
right now and I love that.

- [Aabria] So, we are.

- We are staying here, right?

- When we get a couple, like cute,

maybe thrift items in here.

[Brennan laughing]
- Yeah.

- It's going to feel like our space.

- [Becca] Yeah.
- Yeah.

I'm just following you with Druidcraft.

Like doing 1% of the
thing you're doing like...

- I'm very good with artisan's tools.

I make some art and a little calligraphy

like a house is a home.
- Horse, horse.

- A horse is a home, yeah.

- You put up, a horse is a home.

[players laughing]
- A horse is a home.

- I can't even!
- That's incredible.

I'm gonna say no rolls even necessary.

Like Sam and Danielle, you
guys go out to the front,

like outside of the columns
and hit the geography

of the outside and Sam, you guys see

this beautiful snowstorm kick up from Sam

that just pulls not only
the snow but all of the ice

that expands and breaks the stone apart

and just sends it spiraling
off into the mountains.

And the moment that you do
so roots and vines grow.

And even young sapling
conifer trees grow up

that mean that if storms
come in the future,

these trees will be able
to drink up the water

and keep the mountains preserved forever.

- [Players] Aw.

- So there's this beautiful snowstorm

as these beautiful evergreens
grow in this place.

- Teamwork.
- Amazing.

- Makes the dream work!
- It's really great.

There's a lot of very, [laughs]

also like a lot of fun
permaculture, I think,

Danielle that you're doing
in this moment of like,

oh, there's a lot of these
funguses are gonna be edible

for hungry Dwarves that
come up here in the future.

- Yeah man, yeah, self-sustaining.

- You know, this is all like,

I feel like it's sort of
weird to just like relate

to people based solely
on race 'cause it's like,

there are so many different
types of people in the world

and it's like, okay, how far removed am I

from everybody here, but
this is really sweet.

[Brennan laughing]
That cannot be denied.

And you guys are all so great.

- You're great.
- Oh, you're great.

- You're great.
- You're great.

- You look inside,
Ostentatia, and as you all

are sort of mending stuff you see Katja

is doing the calligraphy
of, a horse is a home.

- You don't need to be a horse
to live here, but it helps.

[group laughing]

- But it helps!

- Are the horses reviewing scrapbooks?

- [Brennan] The horses, yeah, Candyheart-

- Yeah, I think they're all gathered

around one page on the graph broad.

- How interesting is this actually?

- Yeah, there are seven
horses that are all sitting,

which is weird to see horses
do, just on their butts

with their front legs
extended and Candyheart

somehow has a mug of tea
next to them just being like,

"Yeah, well, you know,
I only got about halfway

through the chapter today so I feel like."

- I'm actually sitting with him

learning about scrapbook reviewing.

- Exactly what happens in
the Babysitters Horse 52.

They've gotten a huge stable of horses.

There's so many kids they have to babysit

that they all take a
break and they do this.

- You gotta have you time.
- Yeah.

- Who's turning the pages for them?

- Huh?

- The horses are having a hard.

Just sort of destroying the scrapbooks.

- I'm sitting there but I'm not helping.

[group laughing]

- And that's the right thing to do.

- [Becca] Yeah, no, I'm
not gonna do it for them.

- Sam picks up a little
bit like of a twirling gust

that turns the pages.
- Aw!

- Aw!
- Aw, that's so sweet.

Wow, look at that, this
place really is amazing.

It's a miracle!
- We're being so wholesome!

- God.
[players laughing]

- But yeah, Taffodil looks and
winks over at you and says,

"You're a real sweetheart.

Candyheart was having a hard time."

- [Rekha] Oh my God!
- It's okay, I understand.

- Oh, this is so-

- Everyone can use a
little help sometimes.

- I take 1.000 of the same
picture on my crystal.

- Oh, that reminds me.

So someone mentioned a video.
- Uh-huh.

- Which one, we all took video.

- You are everywhere.

- [Isabella] We all took videos.

- Someone also mentioned it went viral?

- [Aabria] Yeah.
- We all did.

Separately each video.
- Yeah.

- Yeah, I mean, Katja doesn't
have that many followers.

- Yeah, so I got one like.

My dad liked it so for me, viral.

- [Isabella] So that's going viral.

- So-
- I never remember to pose.

- [Becca] He checked it?
- [Rekha] He checked it!

- Fun fact, Sam has almost
no social media, none.

- Uh-oh, we should have asked.
- Okay.

- How many views does it have?

- Mine has the one, how about you guys?

- Like 3.000, conservatively.
- Yeah.

I'm afraid to check.

- How many views does
my video have right now?

- Do we want to leave
this up to the dice here?

- Let's leave it up to the dice.

- [Isabella] Roll all of them.

- Yeah, just roll everything you have

and then add it all up.

- Yeah, we're gonna do
this like exponential.

So like a one means there's like 100,

but as we go up it's
like timesing by itself.

[Erika groaning]
- Yeah.

- So I'm gonna roll.
[die taps table]

[whimsical instrumental music]

Uh...

I rolled an 18.
[players screaming]

So there's 180k views and
it's climbing pretty steeply.

It's a beautiful shot.

Like the light, it was
a broad daylight fight.

It's incredibly well
lit, the angle was great.

- Oh my God, I'm nominated
for a film award?

[group laughing]
- Wait...

- What do the comments say?

- Most of the comments
are just commenting like,

oh my God, like always love these-

- Her hair in slo-mo.
- Yeah, hair in slo-mo.

Oh my God, I always love
these Aguefort vids.

- My dad says good for you
Sam even though you're dying

- Go ahead and give me
an investigation check.

- [Becca] Katja, you got a friend!

- But use your charisma
instead of intelligence

because this is social media related.

- Okay, cool.
[Erika laughing]

- Amazing.
- So dumb.

[group laughing]

- 16.
- 16.

Way deep down, like probably
past the first 50 comments

someone references,

it's not as bad as it could be

but you just see someone says like,

wow, this girl looks a lot like,

and mentions your old TV character.

- Sort by newest.
- Did we do a bad?

- No, no, nothings wrong, nothing's wrong.

- I could delete it.

My dad is the only one who looked at mine.

- Um, it's, it's, everything's fine.

- Do you want to look at the comments?

I mean, my Nonna made me give her

a freaking account

'cause she wanted to be a part of stuff

so it's like a lot of her
just doing a lot of periods

and Ls and Fs and Ps.
- Boomer stuff.

- Well, she's like f*cking 400, but...

- Oh God, that's pretty up there.

- But do you wanna?

- I think I've seen enough for now.

Everything's fine, it's fine.

- Can I roll an insight check?

- You're saying it like it's not fine.

- You don't need to roll an insight check.

Everything's not fine, but it's fine.

- Do you want me to delete it?

- I'll delete mine.
- No, it's fine.

I look at Zelda.
- Zelda says,

"Um, I'm gonna delete mine,"

and just deletes hers from her phone.

- You don't need to delete, you don't-

- [Brennan] No, that's fine.
- I deleted mine.

- Zelda looks at you and says,
"Yeah, I think it's fine.

Besides, we probably
shouldn't upload immediately

because if we want to make
like sponsor vids later

then we probably want it to be exclusive."

- Oh yeah, wanna get some ads in there.

- Yeah, Smashburger merch, I want a hat.

- Also, I'm lying to my
internship that I just have...

- Have expl*sive diarrhea.

- Yeah, at home so please don't tag me.

- A little thing pings
on your thing being like,

uh, Antiope, this is Charity Blythe.

I hope everything with your
bowels has returned to normal.

Normally we ask interns
to arrive at 8:30 AM.

It is currently 11:00 AM
three days into whatever-

[Aabria and Erika laughing]

Yeah, that pings from your phone.

And as you are deleting you
see a little thing blips up

on your phone, a little
video pops up being like,

"Hello, this is Nonna Wallace.

I am in my garden.

Shout out to all of my followers.

[Erika laughing]
I hope everyone great day.

Remember you are beautiful.

Your beard is beautiful,
is bright and sunny

and I love you.

Love to my granddaughter Ostentatia.

- [chuckles] This could be popular.

[group laughing]

- I've already hearted and
commented and reshared Nonna.

She's like, I only have
social media to follow Nonna.

- I shared it to my stories.

My dad might not get it.
- So, you know, our secrecy

is very important twofold.

Number one because we
don't trust the narcs

over in the Ministry, you know?

Aguefort said to watch out who's watching.

It's clear that something
happened to Tectonya

and we don't know if it had
something to do with Charity.

- No, no, no, she was marked for death

by that, so 100% that.
- [Persephone] What?

- [Erika] What?
- I said that part, right?

- But what does this have to
do with, yeah, yeah, yeah,

you put it in our friendship
crystal bracelets.

- Okay.

- So we gotta keep our
location under wraps.

And second of all, like,
this is not an accusation

because mistakes can be made.

Sam's got privacy to maintain, you know?

And we should ask permission.
- [Rekha] I'm sorry.

- For this kind of thing.
- I mean, I'm fine.

Like I know that as a group
we do, like, you know,

some of those brand deals and stuff.

Like, I'm fine with that
and I'm fine being in that.

It's just, um...

Sam looks at Zelda again.

- Zelda looks and shrugs
her shoulders and says,

"Um, let's go...

Yeah, I think, sorry, um."

- It's okay.

- You're good, you
don't have to apologize.

- Hey, you're doing great.

Your bangs look awesome today.
- Oh, thank you so much.

- Yeah, post battle, the
sweat really shapes them.

- Um, listen, oh Sam, you can fly, right?

- Yeah.

- You wanna go, we'll go
check out that nest up there

because you can fly and I'm like, super...

You see that, you see these columns here.

Zelda just can walk straight
up one with her goat hooves

just like, "yeah, like I'm super good

on cliffs and mountain stuff so let's go."

- Let's go.

- I've already like shimmied
up one as well like,

see, I can do it, too.
- Yeah!

- Also, I forgot to tell you guys

or purposely didn't tell you
guys about my opportunity,

but I probably shouldn't
have a public presence

'cause it's super secret and stuff

I've already said too much.

- You mean the Cult of
Shadows or whatever?

- f*ck, yeah.
[Brennan laughing]

You know about that?

You guys, Society of Shadows.
- You told us.

You literally told us.

- No, we retconned that, remember!

[group laughing]
- Oh, now I remember,

we retconned it.
- Oh, we did.

Did we retcon it?
- Oh yeah.

- Now I'll tell you for the first time!

- I thought that was in the,
I thought it was an in thing.

- I always forget what we retcon.

- A retception, I don't know where we are.

- Zelda is gonna head out
with Sam to go check out

the nest that y'all pointed out.

- Oh actually, I'm gonna go
too with my webbed shoes.

Is it okay if I tag along?

- [Brennan] Yeah, you see, actually-

- Or I can follow at a distance.

- Zelda, actually, Zelda
makes eye contact with you

and as Sam goes outside Zelda
just sort of pulls Sam off

to the side for a second

and I think anyone that
wants to go check it-

- I'll go with you, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- I'll go up, we'll go up.
- [Brennan] Yelle, yeah.

- I'd love to shimmy up there.

- I got my kicks of kicking
it, stringing, and spreading.

- So yeah, Antiope, Penny,
and Yelle head off to the nest

while-
- Sam notices nothing.

- Yeah, Sam notices nothing.

Katja and Ostentatia
who are still in there.

Ostentatia, as you talk about
throw pillows and stuff,

you have many bolts of
Michaels and JOANNs fabrics

and stuff like that in
your purse of holding.

If you wanted to make some
throws and stuff like that

in here that's absolutely
something you could do.

- Um, you know, maybe another time, but...

[Brennan laughing]

It's far past a minute,
right, to talk to Asha.

- You could maybe go back
and still check that out

if you wanted to, for sure.
- Yeah.

Katja, I don't know how you're feeling,

but I was gonna maybe try
and talk to a stone Dwarf.

- Okay.
[Aabria laughing]

I'll walk with Ostentatia to do that.

I also, I remember seeing an ax on top

of one of the roofs of this thing

that I think is on the
way back there anyway.

I would like to try to snag
as a present for my dad.

- Aw.
- Well we definitely

probably should not take anything
from here without asking.

- Okay, I'll ask the stone.
- Great.

- [laughs] So you both head out.

The last bit of mending
you do, Ostentatia,

you see that this is a

very potent thing that you're doing.

And as you're going through it,

obviously Ostentatia's
relationship with divinity

very much has to do with
her real living family

like why she became a cleric
and why she sort of like,

to help the actual Dwarves in
her life that are her family.

When you mend stuff
here, it's not just like,

oh, that was shitty and
broken and now it's fixed.

Like, you mend a wall and
as it springs back to relief

it's like a relief

of Dwarves that traveled here

to ask for a miracle and
got one upon traveling here.

And you see the things you are restoring

are deep and powerful stories

of people not very much unlike yourself

who came here looking for
something in the past.

In the final mending spell that you cast,

you fix something and
even more than the spell,

you feel that as you
touch this stone wall,

you're sort of fixing
some cosmetic damage,

you feel a click of something in the wall

as you mend something and realize

that you've just mended a
lock inside of the stone.

And there's no visible door here,

but you've just mended a
mechanism within this place.

- Uh...
[group laughing]

I hear a click and I
shimmy back down to peek.

- [Isabella] Did somebody say click?

- Yeah and just watch you.
- If you mend a lock,

does that mean you locked something?

- Did I close it or did I open it?

- Did you open it?

Is it good click or bad click?
- It felt good.

- As long as it felt good to you.

I just want to feel good.

- You know those locks on Louis bags?

- No.
- That like pop really nice?

- No.

- [Becca] I've never even touched...

- What about on like, a Bottega bag?

- A Bottega bag?
- A Bottega Veneta bag.

- A Bottega?
[Brennan laughing]

- We're gonna cut from here.
- That goes on for one hour.

[players laughing]

- So Antiope, Danielle, and Penny,

would you want to hear
that click and stay behind

or would you want to
go up to the nest with-

- Oh God, I think I just
scampered up the side

and then I heard what sounded
like a lock and I thought,

I am being called and I turn around

and I am upside-own peeking
underneath at Ostentatia.

- Amazing, so Penny, you go back.

We're gonna follow Danielle
and Antiope up to the nest.

- [Aabria] Great.

- So you make it up here.

You see Yvonna of the Sundering Hills.

Of the different statues you've seen,

Yvonna was like a Dwarven paladin.

You see that she has short,
tight locks on her head.

Do either of you read Dwarven?
- Um...

[dramatic instrumental music]

- Cool, so you see some Dwarven runes

written into the base of her-
- I do.

- So do I.
- Oh, well, uh...

- You see some Dwarven runes written

into the base of her statue.

But then you see a bunch of stuff up here

like treasure and shields and
weaponry and stuff like that.

Also from here you see the
Sun rapidly descending.

It was a long ride to get here.

What do you do as you
get up to the top here?

- I'm just gonna reach out as we get there

to do the slap, do you see this?

But I'm also gonna cast protection
from Evil and Good on you

just in case this
becomes like a situation.

- Oh, oh, oh.
- Yeah.

- I take a picture on my
crystal of the Dwarvish writing

and of the situation and
send it to the group chat

and be like, if anybody can translate.

- As you and Katja, or
sorry, yeah, you get it.

You can read the Dwarven writing.

[message notification rings]
- Wait, Bottega?

[group laughing]

- That's like a store.
- Or like Gotye.

[Brennan laughing]
[message notification rings]

- The Dwarven writing basically says,

many heroes fought

foul evils and great beasts

to arrive in sanctuary here

at the Temple of the Earth Defiant.

Many treasures they left
behind in this place

for those that would be
pursued by danger behind them.

Should you take a gift of this place

in your time of need,

we ask only that you leave
something of your own in return

that those heroes that come after you

would have something to
avail themselves for.

- Ostentatia writes, it's like
take a penny, leave a penny.

[group laughing]
- Oh no, we didn't.

I respond, no, Penny didn't come with us.

- Ha.
[group laughing]

I put a "haha" Tapback.
- Yeah!

Dad joke.

- It's like a take a copper
piece, leave a copper piece.

- Oh, okay, okay.
[group laughing]

- Yes, as you two look up
and see the statue here,

you see these other objects and artifacts.

Go ahead, each of you, and make any like,

give me whatever skill
check you're making up here.

- I'm looking for like a good thing.

- I'll do a...

- 13 arcana check just
to see if there's like,

a magical weapon.
- Yeah, for sure.

- It's a 19 perception to
like see what's around.

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- See like, also, you know,

has this place been hit
by the Fey creatures?

- With a 13 arcana you look around.

Yeah, a lot of the gear here
is clearly magical, right.

There's like a giant
crossbow here, there's an ax.

There's a tall spear.

There's also a lot of gems and gold.

And it seems very clear that,

but there are also a lot of
non-magical stuff up here

'cause clearly a lot,
it seems like the nature

of this place is not like,
leave an object of equal value.

It's like, people left
non-magical gear here

that nonetheless had
incredible significance to them

because they were in desperate need

for a more powerful weapon

or they were being pursued
by something dangerous.

But on a 13 you see a lot
of those specifics there.

The crossbow, but there's
definitely other ammunition there.

You see there are some
other arrows behind it.

There's clearly an ax, there's a hammer.

And oh, you also see like a small,

there's some potions left up here.

But I think on a 13 arcana
you would also be like,

yeah, this place is super dope.

We could definitely grab some items

and swap some stuff out and
that could be very cool here.

But I think also you're like,
maybe some of this stuff here

is like particularly
like, oh, we're boned.

We're getting chased by monsters
up in the mountains here,

oh no, and you would grab it

to fend for yourself or whatever.

If anyone, like if you wanted to identify

some of this stuff, you could.

But also there's no shade if you're like,

I feel good with the gear that I have

and thank you to the
Dwarves of this place.

With a 19 perception, you look around.

A 19 insight's pretty good.

[warm instrumental music]
[wind blowing softly]

Something about the way the
wind is blowing in the trees

you are filled with a
little bit of melancholy

as though there is some form of attention

being placed on this temple.

And in that way where you
feel like you are being,

not like you are being watched but feel

like you are within the sight

of something vast and powerful

that has its focus on this place.

You don't feel menaced,
but you do feel uneasy.

- Something's going down here.

It's not necessarily bad,
but you know, it's...

Higgledy-piggledy.
[Becca laughs]

- I do hate that.
- Yeah.

Can I investigate a little?

See if maybe there's any trace

that Tectonya came through here.

- Yeah, absolutely.

And with these rolls, by the
way, feel absolutely free.

Like, if you have magic to
identify these magic items,

you can do that, but also
if you want to cast any,

if you have any abilities
that you want to do

to supplement investigation
checks or things like that,

absolutely go for it.

- I think she's kind of, now
that she knows it's a mixture

of magical and non-magical items

she's just sort of weirdly
like talking to the statue

of Yvonna and she's walking around like,

"Hey, I'm sorry, I know
it's like the leave a penny,

take a penny, and I don't
have enough pennies,

but I am gonna grab these
arrows, thank you very much.

And my friend wanted the
ax so I am gonna grab that.

Thank you very much."

And then I pull out my
short sword and be like,

"I am so sorry, I don't
think this is magic,

but it did k*ll a dragon and
I do f*cking hate dragons

so there's a lot of like,
emotional stuff in it for me

if I leave this and I hope
someone else can k*ll a ton

of dragons with it if
they need to or whatever.

Well, I'm rambling, you're
busy, you're not real,

and Yelle can hear me right
now so I'm gonna stop."

And I sort of put it down.
[group laughing]

- You watch your hyper-pragmatist friend

stumble through a prayer apology.

- Yeah.
- Yep.

- You grab this awesome big
great ax and five arrows.

As you pull the arrows out of the snow

you see they have these beautiful,

like the wood of the shaft is very light.

It's like silvery kind of beech.

You can tell it would have had silver bark

before it was fletched.

The feathers in the fletching

are a stark, snowy white.

They all are kind of
like very dramatically,

they're not in a quiver,
they're in the ground.

- Oh, cool.

- And as they are in the ground there,

you can tell it was something where like,

an archer must have, their
quiver must have broken

or fallen so they just had
arrows in the ground next to them

to be firing from up here long ago.

You pull the arrows out of the ground.

There's about five of them here.

The arrowheads are pure reflection.

The metal head is like made of mirror.

- [Becca] Hmm?

[Isabella and Rekha stammering]

- Oh, thank you.

[Brennan laughing]

- Yelle, what are you casting or doing?

- First of all I think
I'd like to check to see

if there's any sort of
potions or magical items

that could help me or my
friends on the journey.

Anything we might need.

You know, Danielle's looking ahead.

You know, what could aid us?

We don't know where we're going.

There's a potential
we're going underground.

What is there that might help us?

- Yeah, go ahead and give,
oh, so go ahead and give me

either investigation, yeah,

give me an investigation check here.

- Ooh, eight.
- Eight, cool.

You grab a bandolier of
five potions which is like,

it seems very clear that can
help you and your friends.

You sling five potions.

Three of them are clearly
potions of healing

and the other two do other things.

- [Players] Ooh!

- Other things.
- Just choose.

- Cold pressed.
[Brennan laughs]

- And in return Danielle
just spreads her hands out

and casts entangle but instead
of creating difficult terrain

vines and mushroom spores spread out over

wreathing the surrounding statue

and helpful fungi and spores grow up.

You know, we really don't know
a whole lot about mushrooms.

They're closer to humans
than they are to plants.

- [Aabria] Horrifying.

- They have the kinds of
powers to degrade chemicals

that we don't understand.

Like, some of them might be
sentient, but in any case,

mushrooms are dope, I'm
leaving some mushrooms.

- That's really nice.
- Yeah.

- Are they like, mushrooms?
- Some of 'em are mushrooms.

- Cool, I'm gonna like
Druidcraft and pick one off

like leave a mushroom, take a mushroom.

[Brennan laughing]

- Amazing, yes, you see
that you leave a number

of these sort of magical mushrooms

that start to grow up
around the stone here

and leave behind, yes.

- Is there such a thing as
temporary perception points?

I feel like Antiope and
Danielle would do mushrooms.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

- Would, oh yeah, begin to
observe other things around them.

- I use Primeval Awareness
while absolutely off my a*s.

- Oh, don't do primeval awareness
while you're on shrooms.

- They always see-
- Oh my God!

- Incredible, amazing.

- Everything's a dragon!
- Everything's a dragon.

- Oh, were horses always this colorful?

- Uh-uh, you gotta be
in the right mindset.

Don't do it when you think about dragons.

- Roll to see what kind of trip it is.

- Yeah! [claps]
- Yeah!

- So Yelle and Antiope, you
begin to descend from the-

- Is-
- [Brennan] Oh yeah, sorry.

- Was I able to check to see
if there's any signs of her?

- Oh, from Tectonya, yes, absolutely.

You got an eight investigation.

Certainly not up here, so
you didn't see any sign

of Tectonya up here, but again,

if there's any divination
magic you want to use

or anything else like that,

you are welcome to give that a shot.

But at the moment it seems
like you've just grabbed

some cool magic sh*t
from this little cache.

- Yeah, I don't think I
have anything I can do.

Anything to kinda check what
happened around here or.

- Right, I did just take a,
yeah, I do Primeval Awareness

[lightning crackles]
just to see what I see.

- No!
- No!

- I'm on shrooms, it
could be good, who knows?

- I feel like that's advantage.

- [Aabria] Yeah.
- [Erika] Yeah.

- Also, I know what "The Legendarium,"

I know that's not a dragon,

but if I pretend in my head it's a dragon.

- Psychocybin.

- Is paranoia a status
effect in this game?

Let's do it.
- It's about to be.

- I'm gonna ask for a
perception check here.

- Oh God.

[die taps table]
[gasps] Okay.

- Wha?

- Dang.

- Yelle, you watch your friend Antiope

throw these mirror arrows into the quiver

and look out over the
mountains as the sun sets.

It's a very dynamic pose, it's very,

Antiope just looks very badass

surveying the mountains in this moment.

- [laughs] Thank you.

- You look around, monstrosity, Fey,

you detect those presences here.

You detect a number of
magical presences here.

[soft piano music]

Hair on your arm stands up.

You feel something moving to this place.

Your primeval awareness spreads out,

but it's not moving in the way

that an animal or a beast would move.

It's moving in the way that
wind moves or tides move.

An awareness of a natural force

is centering here,

but it feels like the things
in nature that produce circles

like an iris closing,
the eye of a hurricane,

the center of a whirlpool.

Something is closing in on this place.

On a 25 perception, you
have this moment of relating

to something vast or enormous.

And then you smell something on the wind.

Again, you see through
the melancholy trees

blowing in the cold air.

And you smell something
that it for a moment,

[sniffs] stings your
nostrils with the smell

of like blood in the water.

And you wonder if there
is something very profound

and vast in the world that is,

this is weird to say, injured, bleeding.

And then you think about the ether beast.

You think about the Fey.

Your mind immediately goes towards like,

oh, well wizards, owl
bears are a mashup creature

made by wizards in ages long past.

Clearly these ether beasts or whatever,

there's some f*cking wizard or sorcerer

doing mashups in a tower somewhere.

- Like a DJ.
- Like a DJ.

- DJ Khaled.
- Yeah, no, the-

- You smell DJ Khaled.
- Oh!

- DJ Combo.
- Okay, DJ, yeah,

he doesn't do mashups.
- The archmage Girl Talk

is in a tower somewhere
making ether beasts and-

[players laughing]

- [Isabella] Supernatural singing.

- But you wonder at this
moment if these things

are happening just because
somewhere in this space,

and you do think it is this space.

You do think it is like
the Mountains of Chaos

that some powerful thing is
bleeding here in the mountains

and there is something in
the air and in the snow

and in the water and the
stone that is changing

the world, nature, maybe reality itself.

- I communicate it exactly that way

'cause that was incredible
[Brennan laughs]

and then just start rambling about like,

I'm a slayer which means I'm a predator

so I smelled it 'cause I'm a predator.

What if I'm here to k*ll the mountains?

And then just start losing my
mind in a useless direction.

- Antiope's pupils are
so fully dilated past.

Full orb of the eyeball is just pupil

of just like, yeah, yeah.

- Yeah.
- That doesn't happen.

- I'm here to k*ll the Mountains of Chaos.

- Hey, you know in a way, that makes sense

because you're here to slay something

that is causing the chaos.

All right, we should probably
climb back down right now

but be very, very, very,
very, very careful.

We should have brought a trip sitter.

Why isn't Penny here?

[group laughing]
- My ears ding.

- We are going to move
around the other side

of the main spire with the temple in it.

Sam, Zelda easily climbs up the cliff

and you have your winged boots.

And Zelda looks and goes,

"Um, how are you doing?

Are you okay?"
[soft instrumental music]

- I feel like you just
saved my a*s back there,

and I've been a complete
and total b*tch to you.

- What are you talking about?

You have not been a b*tch to me.

- I've been making fun of your boyfriend

and being a b*tch about us
doing this entire quest and...

- Zelda just sort of
pulls you into an embrace.

- Aw.

- You're sort of like,
you're floating on mist

pouring from your boots and she's standing

on like the vertical rock of the cliffs

as you hug suspended over space.

- That's epic.

- And you see she looks and says,

"Sam, I know this is like,

[tender instrumental music]

I'm gonna say this was a lot of,

I love you so much, I love you so much.

And I don't mean this in a
f*cked up way or a bad way,

but like, whenever you get
like a little bit rude,

I'm like okay, T minus until
we find out what's hurting you.

So like, even if you say
something mean to me, I know.

Like yeah, when we first
became friends I was like,

oh my God, it hurt my feelings.

And now, like..."

- That doesn't make it okay.

[Brennan sighs]
So I'm sorry.

- I appreciate it and I love you.

And nothing you could ever say to me

is gonna be as mean as
the stuff I say to myself.

[laughs awkwardly] Sorry.

- You should really be nicer to yourself

because you're awesome.

- Stop, stop it.

- Even after almost two years
of this, it's still hard

to adjust to people that
are actually genuine

with how they feel and what they say.

You know, this is a defense
that I've always had to have

where I have to be sharp,

and it's only been recently
that I've realized that like,

I don't always have to be that way

and I don't really want to be.

- I understand that so
much, Sam, I really do.

It's like, I'm not dumb.

I know that I'm criticizing myself.

But it's like, great, I
know that I have a habit.

Awesome, what do I do with that?

Like, I know that I do that,

and I feel like it's
the same way with you.

Like yeah, you know that
you come from this like,

I know about your bio
mom and I know about,

like obviously Penelope.

Like yeah, when it's like go time

and the red lights are
flashing and it's crisis mode

you go to verbal warrior mode.

You go to like acid tongue.

I either go into the deepest
turtle shell of all time

or I like, full berserk.

And maybe we can just give
ourselves a little bit of credit

for at least knowing
what our problems are.

- That's probably smart, yeah.

- I know there's deeper stuff going on.

You don't have to tell me about it,

but I know that there's
deeper stuff going on.

- The Everpetals are divorcing.

I'm living in their house alone.

- You know that any of us,

you know that you could come live.

Your vibe and my house's
vibe might not mix great,

but you know that my family
would love to have you there.

- Ostentatia's got extra rooms.

[Brennan laughing]

- It's hard to rely on
people, especially when

they often disappear or let you down.

And that's why I want this to continue

'cause I don't want anyone to leave.

- Zelda takes out her crystal,
goes to the group thread

and types, I'm in, and sends it.

- [Isabella] Aw.
- Oh!

- Oh, I love you, Zelda.
- I love you so much!

She gives you a big hug and
kiss on the cheek and says,

[exhales softly] "Short-term,
do we want to say anything

more than like just, hey,
let's keep off social media?

Do we want to just like, say like,

I'll just say like, hey,
let's just really careful

about social media and stuff."

- Um, well, there is a few other things

I haven't been entirely honest about.

I contacted my mother

trying to get information from Tectonya.

- Oh no.
- It was pos, like-

- Yeah.
- I got some information,

but she put me in contact
with an agent so...

The agent gave me some
information but also, like,

wants to work with me and...

- Sam, that's, that, that's
awesome, that's awesome!

- Is it though?

I don't know if I want
to go back to acting.

And I really don't want to
deal with the clamor of,

oh, wow, big change, woo.

Like, it's not anyone's business who I am

or what my gender is,

but that'll be everything
they say when that happens.

- You're gonna lead an extraordinary life

no matter what you choose to do.

I think you're the most beautiful,
amazing, special person.

Like, you know, people are gonna talk.

You're either gonna be an
amazing actor doing acting work

or you're gonna be saving the world

or you're gonna be, you know,

you'll have to work really hard

to like, not be adored by people, Sam.

It's just like something
that comes naturally to you.

And when people have eyes on
you, like, people will talk.

You have to do a lot of work

to keep people from noticing you.

And here her bang falls
over her face some more

and she's like, "But like,

we support you no matter what.

And if you want to stay off social media

and you don't want to be an actor

and you want to keep people at a distance

we have your back and we
will make that happen.

But if you, I think
there's something cool,

it's like, cool that
you talked to an agent.

Like, you know, doors are gonna
open for you your whole life

and it can be cool that doors open

even when you don't walk through them."

- Yeah, yeah.

God, I feel like such a hypocrite

after giving Antiope and
Penny such a hard time.

- Oh yeah, Antiope and
Penny are gonna flip.

They're gonna-
[players laughing]

Yeah, they're gonna be
super pissed, but like...

- I didn't intend, it's not
like I signed any paperwork.

I just-
- No.

- I'm being, I'm asked-

- It's not like you like went to lunch

and talked about doing stuff.
[players laughing]

- Actually...

- [laughs] We cut from that
scene, we cut from this scene.

So Katja and Ostentatia,
you're getting ready to walk

and talk to the statue.

Penny, you walk back into the room

where you heard that click as you two-

- I am hanging off the rock
looking from upside-down.

- [Isabella] Hi, Penny.

- And then like, as
soon as you touch a lock

you hear a boing, and
I'm standing behind you.

[group laughing]

- Hi, Penny.
- Hi, Ostentatia.

- [Rekha] I looked up Bottega, it's a bag.

[group laughing]

- You're so smart.
- You're so smart.

- I know, um...
[players laughing]

Can I tell if this is open or closed?

- [Brennan] You-

- Could I, can I use
Penny to figure that out?

- [Brennan] Well, that's the thing, you-

- My thieves' tools are already out

and I'm splaying them and
just looking at you hopefully.

Like, my eyes tripled in size.
- Amazing.

What I would actually love here, Ost,

is a thieves' tool proficiency check

[Becca exhales excitedly]
from you.

And Ostentatia...

- It's a nat one, but
I get to reroll those.

- Oh my Goodness.
- [Aabria] Oh my God!

- Halfling luck, Penny Luckstone.

- I have carpenter's,
mason's, and smith's.

- [Brennan] And actually and-
- Ooh!

- Hold onto that roll.

Give me a perception check.

Yeah, give me a perception check.

[whimsical instrumental music]
[die taps table]

And actually, you can
do this with advantage

'cause of Stonecunning.
- Okay.

[die taps table]

c*ck.
[die taps table]

- 14, okay.

Amazing, you have your thieves' tools out.

advantage on the roll as well.

- [Isabella] Nice.
- Thank you.

- So if you want to roll and
see if you crit, you can.

But you'll take the higher of
whatever these two rolls is.

So Ostentatia, you move
your hand over it and find

it's totally smooth stone until you find

a part of the stone that
you can press inward

and reveal a keyhole to Penny.

- How nice is this stone?

- [Brennan] Oh, this is
beautiful granite. [laughs]

- Wait, you have to leave
something if you take something.

- I've left a lot.
[group laughing]

- Penny, what did you get
for your thieves' tool check?

- [Isabella] I f*cking
made this place look nice.

- A 28.
- [laughs] So...

- Why did you bring
out a bunch of markers?

- They're my thieves' tools!

- Your thieves' tools look like markers.

- They're all color-coded.
- I colorified them.

- They're all color-coded,
all the blocks parts.

- [Aabria] Exactly.

- Of course they're color-coded!

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

- The Dwarven smiths that
crafted not only a secret door

but also the lock for that door

in case anyone could perceive it

certainly thought that a DC 25
lock would get the job done.

It does not.
[Becca and Aabria laughing]

I think Penny, you take out these tools.

You also take, because so many doors

have the keyholes higher
than you can work,

you jump up and put a little bungee cord

and then rappel halfway up the door

so you can do your work in the lock.

- Can I just give you a hand?
- Nope, got it!

- Okay.
[group laughing]

- And with a pop, boom
[mimics rock sliding]

the door swings open and
a staircase descends.

- Oh my God, horses can't go on stairs.

- Oh no.
[group laughing]

That's okay though, they're
safe in the sanctum.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- They're really enjoying
their scrapbook reviewing.

- I sort of feel like the later chapters

are derivative of the earlier stuff.

You know, it's like,
okay, we've already seen

these pine needles-
- What chapters?

- I think it's like spring, summer...

- It depends how you organize a scrapbook.

You could go by like-
- Mom.

- Years of school or you could go-

- Ostentatia's done.
- I follow you

and continue all the ways
to organize a scrapbook.

- I follow suit half
gait trying to be ginger.

- Trying to be ginger as
the Halfling Dwarf person.

You guys go down the spiral
staircase Penny leading the way,

Ostentatia behind, Katja
half gait coming down behind.

- Have we gotten back?

- Ooh, I was gonna say, well,
I wanted to also say this.

Did you all want to, 'cause I
don't want to lose the scene

where we talk to the
statue so I might say,

let's rewind the clock a little bit.

Penny you are, tick tock,
tick, tock, tocking away.

- It's gonna take me a while.

- It's gonna take you a while here.

I wanted to make sure
we run this scene where-

- Yes.
- Mm-hmm.

- Where you guys can talk to statues.

I don't wanna eliminate that.

Penny, you go down there.

You see actually Taffodil
comes up and says,

"I am getting bored as hell
by this scrapbook club."

- Oh my God, me too!

- Look, Candyheart is...

- The worst.
- Oh my God!

- Oh, you're bad.
- Ssh.

- Okay, okay, you see that the... [laughs]

- You wanna go for a ride?

- So you're having a
conversation with Taffodil

which is really slowing
down your lock pick process.

- So funny.
- Okay, I'll teach you to do-

- You're gonna teach this
horse to pick a lock?

- Yeah. [laughs]
- So you see Taffodil's like,

"Okay, you gotta go slow
honey 'cause I don't,

forget thumbs, I don't have hands, okay."

- So hold one tool between your
pinkie and ring finger then-

- My what and my who?

Oh my God.
- I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry.

- Okay, slow it way down.
- I am being...

- Like I'm a foal, please.
[Aabria and Erika laughing]

- Like I'm a foal.
- Like I'm a foal.

- [laughs] Katja and Ostentatia,

you both walk down the bridges.

There's still the sort of
vines grasping here between.

So you make that athletics
check to jump over,

but you get over the bridge,
walk around the corner

and you see with some
slaughtered ether beasts there

Asha Hammerheart, Dwarven cleric
has returned to her shrine.

It's like icy, blue chamber
carved into the mountain

that the bridge connects to
and moves through that cavern.

There are these permanent
ice crystals here,

things that are so cold

that it would take like
arcane fire to melt them.

And she looks over and
says, "Ah, Belladonna,

what is your name, child?"
[group laughing]

- I'm Ostentatia Wallace,

Wallach-e.

Wallace.
- Wallace.

- Wallace.
- Wallace, yes.

- Wallace.

- Ostentatia.
- And this is my friend,

Katja Cleaver.
- Katja.

Hello Katja, it is a
pleasure to see you here.

You are a friend of she who
wields the magic of the forge.

[group laughing]

- So good.
- You have come here

to the Temple of the Earth Defiant.

Daughter of the Hills, it is
a pleasure to have you here.

You have come here to speak
with me in this place.

What wisdom can I offer you?

- Well, I was wondering like,

I don't wanna assume anything.
- Mm-hmm.

- I feel like maybe
you've been here a while.

- Yes, to be clear-
- You look amazing.

- [Rekha] Yes.
- Thank you for this.

- By the way.
- Very good.

- You know when they
make the statue of you,

they gave you like an advanced notice

so you can arrive and you're
wearing your best armor.

- [Rekha] Oh.
- Incredible.

- You get someone to do your hair.

- Incredible, my driver's license photo

I get retaken all the time
because I'm just like,

not happy with it.

- Same with with my horse license.

[players laughing]

The first picture, they
never let you redo it

and you're like, my eyes are closed.

- And it's like, sometimes
they're like smile,

don't smile, it's like,
what do you want me to do?

- I've gotta be smiling.

- I never smile in a picture.
[group laughing]

- She looks at you and says, this,

your licenses, do you, wait,
you need a horse license?

[Rekha laughing]
[group laughing]

- Yeah, a horse is the most
powerful vehicle there is.

- You know, well-
- Asha.

- Yeah, good point, listen.
[players laughing]

But I appreciate your
compliment on the statue.

Of course I have been here for
a very long time, as you say.

But also in a way I am not quite here.

I obviously died a long time ago.

- I'm sorry for your loss.
[Brennan laughing]

- Me too.
- It is okay.

I am in the halls of our forebears.

I drink and eat and am well

with all of the people I
loved in life who are here.

It is not a bad place to be, but-

- Great to know.

- But I am happy to be in
the mortal plane once more

to speak to you.
- Mm-hmm.

Oh right, I never really asked a question.

Okay, so I just wanted to know like,

what have you seen around here?

I don't know if you sort of
pop back into your statue

to check out what's going on.

- Oh, no, I have seen much
in this place over the years.

Is there a time period?

I have stood here as
a statue for 250 years

which is a long time to keep watch,

but is there a time period within that?

So I have seen many come and go.

- What about 12 years ago?

- What about exactly 12 years
ago or something like that.

- Something.
- Yes, yes, I remember this.

- Seen any like sorta copper women?

- Things?

- There was a very striking
woman, very beautiful

but you know, not only she has no beard,

she has no hair so.

- Well, I thought you were
sort of like a no-bearder.

- No, but I'm saying she had,
it seemed like, you know.

- Full alopecia moment.
- Yes, yes, yes, yes.

She was made of a skin of copper

and a sheen of sort of
metal, burning eyes of brass.

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

She came by this way.

Very hurried, made her way to the temple.

There had been not many pilgrims
in the last decade or so.

She came to the temple

and never left.

- What?
- Huh?

- If she left, she did not
return on this passageway.

Everyone else comes, they stay for a day,

they stay for some weeks
to build the bridges

and repair the statues.

- Is she hiding somewhere here?

- Amazing.
- Is it?

- But since then, I would
say starting about two,

a year and a half to two years ago,

pilgrims completely stopped.

It becomes much too dangerous.

This is around the time that

the beast that pursue you come.

The Harpy Queen comes to this place.

- Oh.

- Two years ago.

- That's when we got stuck in
the crystals and were stuck.

- And we came out and the mirror stuff.

- I can't hear what you say to each other.

[players laughing]
- Two's my favorite number.

- Congratulations.
- Thank you.

- I'm still wrestling with that one.

- Ah.
- It's a hard one.

- There's infinite, there's
the infinite of them.

- Yeah, it's hard to find
one that's right for you.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Well...
- Two like you and your dad.

[Rekha laughing]

- Yes, there has been.

I spoke also to Yvonna and to Kora.

And they mentioned that,
yes, for the past two years

those beasts begin to come here.

But I remember when
the beasts first arrive

they look more like normal.

I have of course have fought
displacer beasts in the past.

- So they've mutated a little?
- Mutation, yes.

There is a change there as well.

The first to come was,
there was a gargantuan harpy

who arrived and she stayed
here, nest for some time.

And when she leaves her
wings are made of feathers

and stick and dirt and...

[thoughtful piano music]

Kora has mentioned
sometimes that there is,

that she has seen on the
mountaintops around here a woman.

Perhaps you know?

Not Tectonya.
- A different woman?

- You know her name?
[Rekha gasps]

- Tectonya Karkovnya, yes.
- Why do you know her name?

- She was alive when I was alive.

- You knew her when you were alive?

- Yes.
- What was her freaking deal?

- Powerful wizard, Solesian.
- Up to no good?

- Up to something, hard to say.

Wizards, you know, can I?

- [Rekha] Please.

- Can I speak in like a
generalization and not be-

[fan flaps open]
- Let's go!

- b*tch, do this.
[group laughing]

- b*tch, speak on it.

- Well, I feel like, you know,
as a cleric you understand.

So much of the magic is
about to heal your community,

to protect people, to
create meaning and service.

And wizards are sort of
like, what are you up to?

[players laughing]
- [Rekha] Oh God.

- Is this like, for you?
- Is this like, for you?

You know what I mean?

Like okay, you read this book all day.

So what, you make a tower

and you combine a monkey and an eagle

and now there's a flying
monkey and it's like, great.

- Okay, so this b*tch is like,

out here f*cking combining animals.

- No, that's an example,
but it's the kind of thing

a wizard would, you know.

- But like, that's what's going on, right?

- Okay, this is making me
a little uncomfortable.

[group laughing]

- Why?

- No, it's not true about every,
I'm just saying, it's like-

- I know...
- Okay, you learn

to bend reality, what's the biggest thing

we want to change about reality?

That monkeys can't fly,
that's number one priority?

- Maybe that's a wizard or
two you know, but I know.

We don't need to get into it.
- Oh you know, you like,

have a lot of wizard friends?
- I'm not going to name them.

[group laughing]
Crazy, that's crazy.

- Sure.
- So listen I, you know.

[players laughing]
But you get what I mean, yeah.

- Okay, are you a cleric?
- Yeah, I'm a cleric.

- You're a cleric?
- I was when I was alive.

- Okay, let me talk to you.
- Yes.

- What the f*ck is up with Logran?

[tense instrumental music]

- Oh...
[Erika chuckles]

You mean to say, the god of
the forge has not been...

- Does he talk to you?

- If I had met him I would tell you.

[Rekha and Persephone gasp]

There are beings here, there are Azer,

the celestial messengers of the
god of the forge, the fiery.

You would know Azer are
basically like Dwarven angels.

They are Dwarves composed of fire

with burning beards and burning hair.

You see she says, "We know
that Logran cares for us

because he grants us spells.

He grants us the ability
to shape the world.

And while many clerics are able

to speak directly to their divinity."

Here you sort of see her pause

in sort of a moment of sadness
but she looks back and says,

"but you know

Logran wishes to care for all of us.

And if it is in his wisdom
to offer us this power

but not speak to us directly,

then perhaps there is a reason for this."

- [scoffs] Katja scoffs at this.

- Oh, ooh.

- If people want to take
care of you, they do.

- [Players] Aw.

- I love you.
- I love you.

- Is Logran real?
- [laughs] Is God real?

Roll.
[group laughing]

- 'Cause you're dead, right?
- Yes, as I have said-

- And you haven't met him?
- I'm sorry for your loss.

- No, okay, so what is
that supposed to mean,

I have not met him?
- Oh no.

- Remember, I do adventures
for a very long time.

You are a young-

- Asha, do not raise your voice at me

here in this ice cave.
- Oh no, oh no.

- Oh, in your ice cave, oh, I'm in-

- Who said it was mine?
- Okay, so let me understand,

all right, so to you
because he do something

that is not favorable to
you suddenly he's a bad guy.

- I didn't say he's a bad
guy I said, is he a god?

- Okay, this-

- Because you're f*cking
special, b*tch, all right.

[group laughing]

And it's like, okay,
we've got an all-powerful

f*cking b*tch over here who
gets a statue on a cliff.

She dies, you don't say hi?
[tender piano music]

- Give me a persuasion check.
- Yeah! [shouts]

[die taps table]

- 21.
- Ooh!

She looks and goes...

- You just convinced her
not to believe in her god.

[players laughing]

- Well, you see she says, "You know,

when I become a martyr and a saint,

I was not expecting like,
oh, come live by my side.

But you're right, like a
'hi' would have been cool."

[Erika chuckling]
- Oh, baby.

- Like a, "Hi, thanks for your martyrdom.

That was extremely dope."
[players laughing]

- Mm-hmm, it was extremely dope.

- I'm gonna, if it's okay with you,

I'm gonna turn aback into
a statue 'cause I gotta go-

- [Rekha And Isabella] NO,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[players laughing]

- Are you trying to kiss her?
- No!

I don't know what to do right now.

- If you need a moment, I'll-
- You go tongue first?

- She looks at the both of you and says,

"I am gonna turn into a statue

because I want to go back to the halls

and talk to some people about maybe if."

- Okay, can I give you my number?

- I don't know that I will
get service from the afterlife

[players laughing]
but yes.

- I get service to the
afterlife, all right.

- She says, "I take your number."

- Okay.
- She takes your number down,

steps back into her position, goes into it

and [mimics reverberation]
turns back into a statue.

- No, who was the woman Kora saw?

- Tectonya.

- [Brennan] You guys hear a big-

- This is a different woman.
- Oh, her girlfriend?

- Was that her girlfriend?
- Is that what she said?

[group laughing]

- No, [laughs] total misread.

Another human woman has been,

or a modern woman has been through here.

- [Persephone] Yeah, mm-hmm.

- Charity.
- Probably Charity.

- Charity.
- Oh, is that what she said?

- Well, that's what I wanted to ask

but then we were exchanging numbers.

- She's gonna come back!

- All I need is a long rest!

- Yeah, you hear a
ker-chunk and you hear back

from the area over there.

You hear Taffodil go, "Oh my God.

So okay, so that's amazing.

Now, if I give that a try,

you think I can really hold
that tool in two hooves?"

- I would love to see you try.

- Okay, I'm gonna roll with
disadvantage and a minus...

[Rekha laughing]
- Nice.

- Minus two.
- [Aabria] Not on Taffodil.

- Okay, you see Taffodil goes, "Okay,"

and clomps one of your thieves' tools

in between two of their
hooves and just goes-

- Great, doing great, this direction.

- Okay.
- Twist left.

- Okay.
- Twist right.

- Okay.
- Quarter clockwise turn

into another plane.
- Okay.

Now, so I'm gonna try to do
that turn that you just said.

I have jammed the tool all way inside

and I'm not holding it
anymore, is that bad?

- Can you move it with
things besides your hooves?

- Like my mind?
- Yeah.

- No.
- Okay, then that's bad.

- Okay, yeah, so I've messed this up.

I'm gonna take a step back.
- Taffodil, Taffodil,

you know where Candyheart
was on my sh*t list?

You're now lower.
[group gasping]

- Penny is ruthless!
- Savage.

- When I come back to hear
that about my f*cking horse.

- [laughs] You see Taffodil says,

"Sugar, don't hate the
horsey, hate the hooves," and-

- Don't think you're getting
a sugar cube every again.

You lost my thieves' tool!

- You go in and have to fish
your thieves' tools out.

It's a whole thing, but the door opens up

and we see the staircase descending down.

Antiope, Yelle, Sam, Zelda,
Ostentatia, Katja, you-

- Wait, Taffodil.
- Yeah.

- You're right, I'm sorry.

It's okay, I should never
have tried to teach a horse

that only has hooves to use these tools

and that was rude of me.

- I appreciate you, I see this,

and this is a moment of
growth and I do see that.

- Thank you.
- It's very big of you.

I don't know what happened, but...

[Brennan laughing]

- I take, no, that feels like an insult.

- No, it's just, you
shouldn't be mean to a horse.

- Okay, we're coming on down now.

- [Persephone] Were you mean to my horse?

- [Becca] We're friends, we're friends.

- The Mountains of Chaos are an ouroboros.

- [Brennan] Following
the spiral staircase-

- I am a snake eating myself

and I destroy and devour
and rebuild as I go.

[Brennan laughing]
- [Erika] Whoa.

- You all follow the spiral staircase down

and emerge into a chamber
of stone but like,

incredibly polished stone here.

There are entire 60-foot inclines.

It's almost like a crystal
room where it would be like,

massive 40, 60, 80-foot-long crystals

where there are flat,
incredibly smooth planes,

but it's all precious stone.

So it's like jade, tiger's eye, agate.

All of these incredible,
rich, deep colors in the stone

and patterns to them.

And as you move in here you see
this sort of dwelling place,

chamber, this is where clearly many people

have lived while they are here

to work on the temple while
they are staying here.

Anyone who would like to could go ahead

and make any kind of
investigation, perception,

or insight roll that you want to make.

- I'm gonna make mine with disadvantage

'cause it's very fun being high.

[Erika laughs]
[dice tapping table]

- Ooh.

- 10 on perception.
- [Brennan] 10.

- 28.

- 25 on insight.
- [Brennan] 25 on insight.

- 12 perception.
- [Brennan] 12.

- Nine investigation.

- So Sam, you immediately
begin to look through

and can feel that there
is a lot of powerful magic

that has happened in this room.

- Happened or is happening?
- Happened, is happening.

You begin to feel an ebbing

of very powerful magic in this space.

And on that insight check
I'm also going to say

that you are, you feel a magical pull

coming from back up the staircase.

And your skin crackles a little bit

almost like that lightning lure
from a long, long time ago.

Penny.
[Becca inhales excitedly]

On that incredibly high
investigation I'm gonna give you-

- I'm really high off
saying the first mean thing

I've like, ever said twice in a row.

- Your Penny's like, wow, the power!

Penny, you find more
objects and knickknacks

and it's like digging
through old fire pits

and you find, oh, this person
used this type of wood.

They were from this region of the world.

Like, pure detective work.

The things of real import
I'm gonna say here are,

you want big thing first
or little thing first?

- No, little thing, I love little things.

- Little things first.

There are a number of

flintlock musket ba*ls

clearly from a fracas or a fight

that must have happened in here.

The lead flintlock
comes from the Baronies.

You also find clearly
there were some clothes

that were torn or destroyed in a battle.

You find a quilted vest of what looks like

a type of high-altitude wear

used by crew members on airships.

You also see a small emblem there

clearly from the Baronies.

All of this seems to be like,
it seems like crew members

or some group from the Baronies

had to have come here at some point.

You also-
- And what are the Baronies?

- Go ahead and make a
history check if you want

or if you want to bring it to someone

that you want to make a
history check for you,

you can do that as well.
- I bring it to Katja, Katja!

- I swear to God, if a romance
partner comes I'ma leave.

- A "romance partner."
- I'ma leave.

- You said mirrors and the
Baronies and I got concerned.

- I have 12.
- Oh, I got 24 for history.

- [Becca] Nice.

- So you bring over the stuff
that you found over to Katja.

Katja, you recognize this.

This is the emblem of a famous lord

in the Baronies, Lord
Talcidimir Tallbreeze.

You know a lot about crests and emblems

and coat of arms and stuff like that.

So the emblems from some of the uniforms

are that of Talcidimir Tallbreeze
who is not only a noble

but also a billionaire airship mogul,

invented a lot of the airships

that are used in the Baronies.

You also on that incredible history check,

what Katja knows about the Baronies.

A lot of people, the
Baronies are not a nation.

The Baronies are a name
for a group of nations.

And the reason they're
called the Baronies,

it's a little bit diminutizing,

but basically the Baronies
are a group of human nations

that grew up in the
shadow of a lot of trade

both with Fallinel and
with other Elven lands

to the west of them.

And basically adopted this culture around

the fact that Elves viewed human beings

as dying very early and as being

kind of very prone to passion
and fits of being piqued.

So the Baronies are, their
military and culture,

like a lot of these emblems
look like very Renaissance wear.

The Baronies are very wealthy.

They do a lot of trade.

But again, the reason
they're called the Baronies

is that they are extremely prone to

w*r, assassination,

violence, intrigue, trade, mystery.

- And you said they're human?
- [Brennan] Human, and-

- Is there something wrong with that?

- No, no, no, no, no, but
Charity, is she human?

- Charity is human.

But the reason they're called
the Baronies, so for example,

the oldest Barony, the oldest nation

in the Baronies right now is Grimner.

It has a long history.

It's one of the longest-lived
nation in the Baronies.

It is 50 years old.
[Aabria laughs]

The Baronies for hundreds of years

there has been so much
noble infighting, intrigue,

assassination, coups like,

"Haha, as your cousin I take
the throne of whatever!"

And rename the country,
the borders change.

So other countries just
gave up on figuring out

what was going on there
and just go, the Baronies.

Like, the maps get redrawn all the time,

the borders get redrawn all the time.

There's always some lord who's taken over.

So the Baronies are a
place that is in constant

kind of like Renaissance
intrigue, feudalist,

like coup, w*r, infighting.

- That sounds great, I wanna go there.

- I think the Jones's are super
embarrassed about that like.

- Okay, we found-

- The Baronies f*cking suck a*s.

[group laughing]
- Hey, rude.

- Like look, I say this as
part human and like, oh my God.

And there are no good billionaires
so f*ck this Tallbreeze.

- Yeah I mean, my dad's nice, but no,

I know what you're saying.
- Yeah, mine too.

- You see the second thing Penny finds

after finding those emblems.

Oh, yeah, sort of off
in a corner wrapped up

in a piece of cured leather is
"The Legendarium Extrordia."

- [gasps] I found it, I found
it, I found it, I found it,

I found it, I found it! [laughs]

I run over to you because you told us

you can read the map legend.
- Oh, yeah.

- Yeah, oh.
- And I jump up and down

in front of you like,
jumping to your height.

- Please stop moving, please stop jumping.

Does someone have water, oh God.

- [Erika] Oh my God, you did so good!

- I spray Penny like a cat.
[group laughing]

- No. [hisses]

I go lick myself in a corner.

- It's okay, and Danielle like pets Penny.

- Aw, Penny nuzzles up in your lap.

- Aw, oh, I love it when she's purring.

- Could I cast Protection From Energy?

- Yes, absolutely.
- [Rekha] Good call.

- On Antiope.
- [Brennan] Yes, absolutely.

- Thank you so much.
- Good f*cking call.

- As you cast Protection From Anti,

Protection From Energy on Antiope,

what does that look like?

- I cast Protection From Antiope.

- [Brennan] I mean, that's a good spell.

- You can't take me from myself.

[group laughing]

- You're suddenly capable
of talking to Preston.

- Oh my God, I feel good about myself.

- What does it look like as
Ostentatia casts this spell?

- I hold her shoulders and
I'm just like, "Be careful."

- Thank you.

- The stone resonates through here.

You take "The Legendarium Extrordia."

I'm gonna say, on that
incredible investigation check,

there's a little four-digit
lock screen on it.

And Penny, you're able to just like...

- Hold on, let me just
try every combination

of a factorial of-
- We're gonna get locked out!

- Faster, faster.
- We're gonna get locked out!

- She's also like,
checks the fingerprints.

She can see the smudgies on there.

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- Oh, yeah.

- I would also-
- One, two, three, four.

- [Brennan] Amazing.
- Wait, could I also,

could I also like, 'cause I'm like scared.

- Yes.
- Izzy is.

- [Brennan] Yeah.

- Could I also cast Guardian
of Faith just in case-ies?

- Yeah, I love that.
- I think that's smart.

- [Brennan] You cast-
- Thank you.

- You cast Guardian of Faith.

Have you cast this spell before?

Do you know what your guardian looks like?

Or are you just reaching out

for whatever kind of spiritual entity-

- I feel like she looks like Asha.

- [Players] Aw.

- And you see that Asha
Hammerheart appears.

- Like a combination of
Asha and my mom and Nonna.

- [Brennan] Oh, I love it.

Actually yeah, so these sort of,

there's like flickering shapes of-

- But with the rings of my dad.

- Oh, I love it.

So this sort of like,
familial guardian appears.

Different Dwarven faces move across it.

Your momma goes like, "Oh,
sweetheart, I'm so proud of you."

And then it moves over
to your Nonna who's like,

"You're doing so good,
like and subscribe."

And you see Nonna moves past.
[players laughing]

And you see Asha's face manifests
briefly on the guardian.

You cast Guardian of Faith.

Antiope, you look at "The
Legendarium Extrordia" and

[mimics reverberation] look
into the crystal screen,

see a map of the globe.

What would you like to
do as the screen comes on

and you see this rotating
globe of Spyre there?

- I'm gonna, you gotta
to where you are first

to just see what's going on and...

Is this like a live
feed or just in general?

- Go ahead actually and
just give me like a,

either arcana or investigation.

- Those are equally only,

oh sh*t, eight.
- Eight, okay.

You begin to dip through
here a little bit.

You are able to get to
where you are right now.

You see that you don't
really have an ability

to change the time period.

Time period is set to current day.

It looks like it's sort
of in a neutral position.

But you see the key there, the legend.

And go ahead and give
me a perception check.

- Can I cast Guidance?
- [Brennan] Oh yeah.

- Oh, yes, thank you.
- So add a d4.

- Oh my God, it's so bad.
- [Brennan] Add a d4.

- Oh, that's not gonna help enough.

- I can cast it as many times.

- 15.
- 15, okay.

- It helped a lot.
- So obviously you looked.

So Ostentatia's standing by your side

and you point out that there's that legend

of the different quest types.

There's A, B, C, D, E, F.

You look at the six of them
and you can toggle them

as filters and they will show you

every quest of that type
in the world right now.

- Okay, I wanna go to our region

and then can I pick multiple filters

'cause I just want to
filter out D through F.

I just want to see A,
B, and C in the area.

- Cool, swirling color,
it's so bizarre to look

because it's like, how does a
quest exist in physical space?

You see that some of the
quests cover a region

and others kind of
snake between two points

with weird, flickering lines.

It's like, this is a, a quest
is like a conceptual entity,

but this is like mapping
them in physical space.

You filter out-

- Color-coding is how you do it.

[group laughing]

- You filter out F and
half the quests disappear.

And suddenly there's big chunks

of just like dull gray kind of blank like,

there is nothing of
interest happening here.

You go F, E, D,

Spyre is blank.

You are looking at A,
B, and C-type quests.

- None in all of Spyre?

- Antiope, you are looking at this

and Penny and Ostentatia
are already, both of you,

you all look and there's
no insight check necessary.

You are looking at a complete absence

of the type of quests you would need

in order to be able to graduate.

- They don't, the system
doesn't want us to graduate!

- No, hold on, I'm gonna turn
it off and turn it on again.

I turn the program off and then reboot it.

- Shake it, shake it, blow on it.

- Yeah. [blows]
- During all this,

Danielle is taking shots
with her phone of anything,

you know, just sort of
documenting all of this

and seeing if there's any sort of way to,

you know, jailbreak it.

- I'd also like to check my crystal

and previously taken photos
and flip through the bylaws.

- Amazing, give me an arcana check.

- Oh. [scoffs]

[gasps excitedly] 28.
[Brennan cheers]

- Yeah! [claps]
- Hold on, hold on, 29.

- So you start looking
through the bylaws of like,

okay, we need a certain
class of quest to get there,

but is it, like, is there an-

- That's a 31, that's a 31, that's a 31.

[Rekha laughing]
- Oh my God!

- A 31?
- Yeah, that's a 31.

That's how that works.
- You're a God.

- Amazing, you start to
just go through your phones.

You're like, you are positive
that you can find a way to,

there's gotta be some
wiggle room in these bylaws.

- Right, there must be
a caveat in the case

where there is not an A, B, or
C there must be one available

and if there is not there has to be

some sort of other bylaw.

- And sorry, Yelle, in
this moment you're saying

that you're looking for...
- I'm documenting

and then also checking to
see like in the submenus

or just in the tech of the crystal itself

if there's any way to jailbreak it

and port it to our phones.
- Ooh.

- Ooh.
- Nature, nature hacker.

- Yeah.
- Yeah, actually go ahead

and if you're not gonna use magic,

but go ahead and give me a nature.

If you're doing with natural ability,

go ahead and do that.

But give me either nature or arcana.

- Can I give her advantage?
- Can everyone?

- For helping?
- Sure.

If you want to do that, go for it.

Yeah, roll this with advantage.

- Okay.
[dice rattling]

Oh!
[groovy instrumental music]

- Incredible.

You see, Yelle, you're looking around

at all these beautiful
semi-precious stones.

You walk over with a small handful

of these beautiful, again,
like tiger's eye, jasper,

agate, jade, walk over and the stones

all sort of hum in your hands going,

"Wow, we're going somewhere."
- Oh my God.

- Oh man, moving around feels so good.

Yeah, come on, my little babies.

- And you move on out and all these,

you take one of the stones

after you connected them
to "The Legendarium"

and moved them and one
attaches to your crystal.

And you see that a little.
[mimics electric buzzing]

And you see that there
is a little anarchist,

like thorns around a goat scull
like anarchist druid symbol

as you like, hack into
the government software.

[Erika laughing]
- [claps] Yes.

- She's wearing that as a mask.

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- And has the mask.

- You have pirated druid
software on your crystal phone

of "The Legendarium," incredible.

- Amazing.
- [Aabria] Amazing.

- [Persephone] Absolutely amazing.

- Penny, you...

- Can I give them, can
everybody, can I hack these or?

- You start to go and
take the other stones

and start to attach them, but before that

we need to run something else, Sam.

- Hi.
- Hi.

You walk back up the
staircase and arrive back up

at the top at the columns overlooking

the vastness of the Mountains of Chaos

and feel that familiar crackle

out towards the edge of the columns.

You see there, her arms
clasped in front of her,

her hair blowing in the wind looking out

not at the direction
that you have come from

but through the columns on the far side,

her back to the journey
you have just taken

is The End of All Things.
[soft instrumental music]

- I walk not completely to her

but about halfway between
where I am and where she is.

- I um, I never left.

- What's wrong?

- Oh...

She turns to look at you,

just tears of blood
streaming from her eyes.

- Can I help you?

- Doubt it.

Maybe you can.

[sighs] It is frigid up
here, are you all right?

You're a mortal.
- I manage.

Look, I know you sort of
almost trapped me in a mirror

for eternity, but you look

really fragile right now.

What happened?

- Make a persuasion check for me.

And you can actually
do that with advantage

if you'd be so kind.

[dice rattling]
[soft instrumental music]

- 25.

- She looks at you and says,

"I would appreciate that.

I owe you an apology.

I didn't mean to frighten
you and your friends.

I, I...

It's very easy to forget
that by simply being oneself

one may harm or frighten another being.

And I know that I am not like you,

and I did not mean to be frightening.

I got, I was released
by one of your sisters,

and I thought to rejoin mine,

and their mirrors were all shattered.

- Not like yours, they weren't let free?

- They weren't there.

If they had been freed, why
wouldn't they have freed me?

What else would have?

- Me

Who were your sisters?

Maybe there's - something happened.

Maybe they were captured again.

- She speaks some names out loud.

She goes, Chronoa, Terra,

Pyrria, Nira, Zefira,

and Anima, my closest.

She's only a little bit older than me.

- The Eidolons?

- You know about us.

- Only a little.

[soft instrumental music]

If I hug you, is it
possible for me to hug you?

- You could call me Talura.
- Talura?

- And she just full-on weeps
and starts to collapse.

- I go to her.
- You go to her and hug her.

And in a moment where, you
know, I know your loved ones

if they were witnessing
this would be horrified

that the worst would
happen in this moment,

you embrace her and feel a deep

and profound icy coldness
that doesn't hurt.

And she sobs into your shoulder

and you hear

in her sort of very quiet,

there's almost no vocalizing,

it's just her chest lightly
shaking as she cries.

You hear the confusion and sadness

of your friends downstairs
coming to the conclusion

that there are no A, B, or C-class quests.

And you can hear Penny like...

- There's gotta be a way,
there's gotta be a way,

there's gotta be a way,
there's always a way.

- You hear her saying,
"There's gotta be a way"

in that way that Penny's voice gets

as more and more bad news keeps incoming.

- I look at Talura and
glance back at the cave.

It sounds like stress but it
doesn't sound like danger,

right?
- Yeah.

[tender instrumental music]

- My own sisters are struggling
with something right now,

but I'm gonna be here for
you 'cause they're still here

and we don't know where yours are.

But maybe we can find them.

Maybe.

- She looks at you.

This is a rare magic.

And she conjures something in her hand.

It's like a snarling face made of smoke.

You see it's got an acid tongue,
a forked tongue. [snarls]

And she sort of wafts it
away and looks up and says,

"Beyond anything else,
I am certain, mortal,

that this kindness

is at the center of who and what you are."

And she looks out and says,
"There is a way for you

to help me find my sisters.

We were sealed away long ago

after the gods were done with us."

- They used you and put you away?

- It is a cruel thing
to be kept to be used

as part of someone else's plan.

But then I think you know that, don't you?

[tender piano music]

I-
- Yeah.

- My tears have been
leaking from this place

for some years now, since
I scoured the mountains

looking for my sisters who are everywhere

and so to find their presence
nowhere is beyond troubling.

I don't think anything
could have destroyed them

so I do not know where
they could have gone.

But I know that they were not there.

Their mirrors were not shattered.

It was challenging, the mirror...

[sighs] The gods left a way
for us to leave the mirrors

if we wish, but that way was death.

So either my sisters have
been captured and rebound

or were destroyed or...

I have to imagine that they...

- Talura...

Sam reaches into her pocket,
pulls out the mirror.

I can't look into
anything with your sisters

because I'm mortal, I tried with you,

but I don't think the curse
that's on this will harm you.

It may be able to tell you something

if you think of one or
all of your siblings,

but I can't do it for you.

- She looks and says,

smiles and goes, "You may
be the most gifted sorceress

I have ever encountered.

You have offered me a boon
for indeed in that mirror

[Becca chuckles]

I know there is a way to find what I seek.

By ancient laws am I bound though

to offer you a boon in
return should I accept this."

- I don't need a boon.

I know what it looks
like to be used and hurt

and to not have people to connect with.

This is just because you're hurting.

- She smiles.

She looks and says,

"If it is freely given,

then that is appreciated and accepted,

but perhaps you will
pay me a second kindness

by allowing me to show kindness to a...

Friend?

- Yeah.
- You see she smiles

and you hear downstairs.

Penny, you look in the bylaws.

- It's gonna be here somewhere

because it just gets smaller with the A's

and then it goes I and then
it goes back to numbering

and then the numbers-
[Rekha moaning]

- So this is just an element
of your arcana 30 check.

There's gonna be a lot more
that comes with that as well.

But you find that there is no clause

to go down to another class of quest.

- I throw my crystal across the room.

- What?
- It's broken, it's broken,

it's all broken, the pictures,
I don't think, I think I-

- They can fix it at the store

if you just say you sat on it.

- Cutting to back up top you
see Talura looks over and says,

"Are your friends all right?

They seem distressed."

- I have a feeling something
went wrong with our mission.

- What is your mission?

- We're trying to get a GED.
- A GED?

- Yeah, something something
educational something

to graduate early so we
can all stay together.

- [gasps] Aguefort, Aguefort,
I remember the name.

- Yeah, yeah.

- What is it that you need
to achieve the fabled GED?

[Aabria chuckles]

- We need the Superintendent
of Schools to sign off on it

and we need to solve a
rank A, B, or C quest.

[dramatic instrumental music]

- Um, Eidolon. [laughs]
[Becca laughing]

- Okay.

- In exchange for the
viewing of my sisters,

or not an exchange but I
will love to find my sisters

with this mirror.
[players laughing]

I can do that for you,
Sam, I'd be happy to.

[upbeat instrumental music]

- That would really help
my friends, so thank you

as long as it's freely given.
- Of course.

Sam, your wish is my command.
[reverberations shutter]

[mimics wind howling]
Shadow wraps around her

and downstairs in "The
Legendarium Extrordia"

starting in the Mountains of Chaos, ping.

- f*ck yes!

- A class A quest appears.
[player gasps]

- Oh, it just took a long time to load.

- I put your phone in a bag of rice.

I don't know if that's
the right fix but uh...

- No, this is really nice, Katja.

- Do you have rice?

We're eating goodberries.
- It's great for horses.

- You see up there Talura
is shaking. [moans]

- Oh, okay, we know that one.
[fans slapping open]

There it is, girl.
- Yeah, she. [exhales softly]

- Will you be all right, do you know?

- It has been so long since
I have had a wish to grant.

Thank you, I...
- You're welcome.

- Too long.

- You see she opens the mirror and says,

"Show me my sisters.
[reverberations echo]

What?

No.

No, no, no!"

And you see, slams the mirror shut.

Her face extends into a snarling
gray wolf's head. [snarls]

[scream] Why would they do this to me!

And grows 20 feet tall, the
mirror clatters to the ground.

You feel her, she loses sight of you.

You don't feel any of this rage
or ferocity directed at you.

It is purely at what she has seen.

[stirring instrumental music]

She goes, "Yes, yes, well, if
that's how it is meant to be,

then I think I have a thing
or two to say about it!"

- Talura, what, what,
what happened to them?

- Class A, you said.
- Yeah.

- That can be arranged.

The class A in the mountains

spreads across the entire world.

[players gasp]
Fills the screen with color,

fractures the screen.
- Oh.

- And Talura vanishes in a blast of smoke.

- Don't be a stranger?

- [laughs] Your mirror on the
ground is covered in frost.

You stand here and looking at
your crystal across the ground

class A, B, and C in
the bylaws, 30 arcana.

- 31.

- 31, excuse me.

- Yeah, wasn't gonna nitpick,
but it's kinda what I do so.

- There you go.

So the classification
system, you finally find

in a glossary rather
than in the main chapter.

- Always start with the
glossary, I should have known.

- That's the craziest thing ever

to start with the glossary.

- No, not if you need to know
every term before you begin.

- So the classification system.

Classification system,
basically it has to do

with the scale of a quest, right?

So a class F is literally
affecting a municipality,

is a quest that affects a municipality.

Class E affects a region,

class D affects a nation.

Class C, which is the lowest

that you need to get your GED

is a world, a planet.

So a quest that the fate of
a world hangs in the balance.

Class B would be a plane of existence,

and a class A quest would
be the entire multiverse.

- Oh, vibes.

- No pressure.

- So we had to zoom out of the map.

- What did we do?
- Out of the map.

- It's broken!
- I relay this information.

Okay, so you know-
- Oh sh*t!

- Class A, maybe it's a bit much for us.

Maybe we start with just a
single planet we're trying to,

[gasps] do you feel that?
- Hold on, what's before A?

What's before A?
- Hey, yeah, Danielle,

you've attached so everyone

has the "The Legendarium"
on their phones now,

but you have an extra gem for Sam,

and you don't see Sam down here.

- [Rekha] Oh God.
[Brennan laughing]

- Guardian, guardian, get up there!

- Yeah, so
- [Isabella] Wherever she is.

- Asha begins to move.

Asha turns to you and
looks around and says,

"Um, sorry, something very
bad, um, uh, uh, sorry."

[alarm blaring]
Runs, whoosh, disappears.

You hear alarm bells
ringing in the afterlife

behind your guardian of faith.
[Erika laughing]

- Did you just f*cking leave
after I summoned you here?

[Brennan laughing]
- Wait, now's my moment!

I reach deep into the fanny pack

I've been wearing this whole time

and pull out a rust-colored
fuzzy ball which I toss.

- Disappeared.

- You toss a rust-colored fuzzy ball.

Go ahead and roll what animal it becomes.

- [gasps] A bear?

I think it's a bear, it's a brown bear.

- [screams] Cute!
- [screams] I made a bear!

Look, Danielle, I made a bear!

- Whoa.
- Hi, bear!

- Why did you make a bear, what?

- Could you go see what that is upstairs?

- [growls cutely] And the bear-

- [Players] Aw!

- The bear wanders upstairs,
what do you all do?

You see that Sam is not here,
not present in this space.

- Yeah, I tell it, Sam's
up there, Sam's up there.

- [Rekha] Run upstairs.
- [Aabria] Yeah, 100%.

- My f*cking guardian of
faith just bailed on me!

- I ride on the bear.

Is it a giant so I can catch a ride?

- Yes, you can ride on the bear.

So Sam, looking out at the
horizon at roiling clouds

[mimics wind rushing] over the horizon,

you see your six wonderful friends

ride out of the bottom on a bear.

[Becca laughing]
- Same thing as a horse.

It's like riding a horse!

- And you see, all of you see Sam

at the edge of the icy precipice

looking out over a dark sky.

- Holding her frost-covered mirror.

- Holding the frost-covered mirror.

Sam, what do you say as you
turn to see your friends?

- Um...

I might have done something.

[Brennan laughing]
- Me too, I made a bear!

- Oh, that's so cute,
have you named him yet?

- Taffodil looks over and says,

"Something crazy just happened up here."

[players laughing]
- What happened?

- I got a feeling and...

- Are you safe?

- I don't think any of us are now.

- So remember when I had that high thought

about something very bad coming?

- Oh yeah.
- That wasn't a high thought.

- I'm not sure if bad's
the right way to say it.

She just seemed hurt.
- She?

- She?
- She?

- Talura.

- [Isabella] Who,
Talura-rula-rula-rula-rula-ruli?

- Okay, I was gonna freak
out 'cause I didn't-

- The Ending of All Things.

- You know her f*cking name now?

- Her and all her
sisters, all the Eidolons.

- Oh, Eidolons, I did read
read about them quite a bit

so I do know all their names as well.

[Brennan chuckles]
- You good though, like?

- Are you lying?

- I did get like a 31 on
researching the Eidolons

so I probably know their names.

- You would know.

I think that different cultures have a,

you probably know hundreds
of names for all of them.

But Sam has learned the names
that they use for themselves.

- [Becca] Mm-hmm.

- So there's an incredible
wealth of information here.

But yeah, Antiope, you look
at Sam who looks shaken.

I imagine Sam looks a little like.

- Shaken and almost
like she's about to cry.

[soft instrumental music]

- She completely forgets about
all of the other dumb sh*t

and just runs over and grabs you.

Are you okay?

Did she hurt you?

- I'm fine.
- And I just-

- She's not.

- Okay, we need a really quick rundown

of what's going on right
here because sh*t's weird.

- So she was here.

She apologized for-
- In a mirror?

- [Persephone] No.
- For what?

What did she, like exactly
did she apologize for?

- For hurting and scaring us.
- Vibes.

- I feel like you should still
demand a personal apology.

- Like a little bit, but-

- She couldn't find her sisters.

She was upset.

- [Erika] The ones in the mirrors.

- Bleeding from her eyes

and in a lot of pain so I went to her.

- As Sam says that, Yelle, you
realize that these Eidolons

being the entities that moved divine will

into the actual matter of the universe,

if there was an injured Eidolon here,

that explains all the weird
beast stuff happening.

That explains the vibe you've been getting

from the natural order here.

- Injured, they weren't
just high thoughts.

- Yeah, no, you had it all right.

- Mushrooms are dope.

- Wait a minute, so if her
sisters didn't get free

when their mirrors were
broken, what happened to them?

- I think the mirrors were just empty.

- What did she do?

Because something very bad is going on.

There was an emergency in the afterlife.

- I'm getting to that.
- She used your mirror?

And she points to the
frost-covered mirror.

- She used my mirror.
- What did she say?

- Does that thing have redial?

- Star 69.
- Star 67, seven.

- [Becca] Star, 67?

- I don't know if any
of us can handle that.

- Doesn't nine block?
- No.

Star 69's who called me.

Star 67 is I think stop calling me.

- I open the mirror.

- You open the mirror.

Give me a-
- Star 69 check.

- No, I'll go ahead.
[Aabria laughing]

You can try to do this carefully

in which case there's a risk of failure

or you can ensure your success

with a little bit of risk here.

[thoughtful instrumental music]

- I think Sam is not just concerned

about the power that Talura has

and whatever she's done because
she was very clearly upset

and acting out of upset

which is something Sam
is very familiar with,

but I think she's actually worried

for a being that's much greater than her.

And I think she takes the risk.

- Amazing, I would love your choice.

Either a constitution or
a wisdom saving throw.

- Constitution.
- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

[thoughtful piano music]

- That's a 13.

- We are going to get to what you see

because you're going to see it

in a different state of consciousness.

What everyone else sees is
Sam holding the compact.

[suspenseful instrumental music]

Ice, fire, shadow, mist, water,
wind. [mimics howling wind]

You watch Sam's eyes go wide

and she lifts up as her storm
magic has often had her do

and can see every muscle
in her body tensing.

And the wind just picks
up more and more and more

to the point where Sam's limbs

are kicking and flailing in the force.

And you see her eyes glow powerfully white

as you succeed by pushing
yourself past your limit

to achieve this vision.

Sam goes horizontal and collapses
to the ground unconscious.

- Whoa!
- Can I catch her?

- Yes, of course.

Antiope run, you grab your friend,

hold her, Sam is unconscious.

We are going to get to
what Sam sees later.

I want to know what the rest
of the Maidens are doing.

- Okay, so we have an
angry planar creature

who just needs to find her sisters.

We can find sisters.

- What?

- Are we not worried about this?

- Oh, oh, oh, oh!

I thought she was taking a
nap 'cause she was tired and-

- I let it happen for
so long and I'm like-

- I'm rolling performance
to see how hot I fell.

- Okay. [laughs]

[die taps table]
- Jesus Christ.

- I won't post, I won't
post, it's just for me!

- [Aabria] It's just for us!

- 32.

Sorry, 31, 31.
- 31, yeah.

Sam is just otherworldly.
- So we all pass out.

- Yeah.
[Becca moans]

- Zelda is next to you holding Sam going,

"Oh my God, Sam, Sam!"

- Immediately Danielle
does a medicine check.

- Okay, go for it.

- 17.

- You recognize this immediately.

This is basically,

it is a good thing that
Sam has passed out.

This is like going into shock like,

oh, don't experience this.

[snaps fingers] Click, lights out

that Sam's body has shut down

because she is receiving information

on a scale so far past mortal beings

that this is the only safe way

for her to process the
magic that she's doing.

That's what you get from
that medicine check.

You all look around.

You are able to connect
with what Sam basically said

of like, she had an
interaction with Talura up here

who you would know from
that long list of names

is the seventh Eidolon.

- Out of seven, she's the
baby, that makes sense.

They can be bratty.
- What is she the Eidolon of?

Oh, The Ending of All Things, I remember.

I am very stressed.

- Penny has gotten so many 30-pluses,

especially surrounding Eidolon stuff.

So Chronoa,

the eldest of the Eidolons,

these are all the Eidolons

at the core of the elemental planes.

The middle four that you all understand

are based around the four elements.

So Terra, you know who Terra is.

Pyrria, Nira, Zefira are
fire, water, and air.

Penny, you'd also be aware,
Chronoa's a very interesting one

because Chronoa's actually associated

with both the Astral and Ethereal planes,

the transitive planes.

Chronoa is the eldest Eidolon,
and is the Eidolon of time.

The two baby sisters are associated

with the positive and
negative energy planes,

AKA, life and death.
- Okay, well, yep.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.
- [Aabria] Dope.

- Wow, the life and the death
were the closest friends.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Okay.
- Okay, [laughs] okay.

- [laughs] Whatever you say.

- That's the reaction I'm looking for

in any worldbuilding I do, oh, okay.

- Okay, whatever you say.
[group laughing]

- I like this.
- [Isabella] Copy.

- [Brennan] Copy that.
- Interesting.

- Penny.
[energetic piano music]

- We have to find her sister Anima first.

That was her counterpart.

- I will also say on a 30-plus
you know something else

which is, maybe all of
this is interconnected

or maybe it's just the wildest
coincidence of all time,

but you know that if Talura
has done something to,

'cause you all can put two
and two together and be like,

oh, Sam had a talk with one of the beings

that shaped reality and then
this class A quest expanded

and broke "The Legendarium."

There is one person that
you know studied Eidolons

more than any other
person, Tectonya Karkovnya.

- This b*tch.
[Brennan laughing]

- I mean, she's supposed
to be the, I'm not there.

- What, go to sleep.

- She didn't leave this mountain.

- Oh, we didn't freaking tell anybody.

- Okay, we tell everybody.

- She's here.
- She's here.

Sorry, she's here.

- How do you know?
- We talked to Asha.

Asha said that she saw a
beautiful copper lady come by

and she never left.

- Can none of us sense metal?

- Oh, I can.
- Actually, hold on,

give me an investigation check, Penny.

- 22.
- As Katja and Ostentatia

tell you like, the statue
said that she never left,

remember the other stuff you found

other than "The Legendarium" downstairs.

- Airships, there's
stuff in the, I look up.

- [gasps] I turn to Zelda,

weren't you supposed to
go up and look at that?

- Look, it's been a big
day, I was helping Sam out!

And why does everyone
pick on me all the time?

- Okay, we need to find
healthier ways to let it out.

- I brush Zelda.

- You see her goat leg
kicks out a bunch as,

[inhales and exhales roughly]
I'm so sorry you guys.

I completely freaked out.
- No, it's okay.

Let it out more often.
- Oh, it's okay.

I brush all her hair in front of her face

the way she likes it.
- Zelda-

- She's like full Cousin
Itt, like it's full.

- If you talk about it more,

then maybe it won't come out
in such an unhealthy way.

That's what my mom says.
- What is the airship

have to do with what we're talking about?

- I don't know-

- Because that could be where she went.

If she's not around here,
she wasn't downstairs,

maybe she's up-
- Upstairs.

- Up, the sister to downstairs, upstairs.

- Katja, make a history
check with advantage.

- With that brilliant monologue.

With advantage you said?

- [Brennan] Yeah, with advantage.

- So that's a dirty 20 and then that's 22.

- I will say this.
- [Isabella] So 42.

- Recognizing the
emblems, there's one fact

about Talcidimir Tallbreeze
I neglected to mention.

- [Rekha] Uh-oh.

- Talcidimir Tallbreeze
is oldest and best friends

with one Karl Cleaver.
- I was gonna say, okay.

So I recognize him or?

- You've met him in the past.

- Is this this person you mentioned

that my dad was hanging
out with on the phone?

- No, that was Gelgador the wizard.

- Cool 'cause I, okay,
cool, okay, great so...

- But Talcidimir, probably
the last time he met you

would have been when you
were a little, little kid.

But you know where, like,
if that dude's emblems

were in the temple, you
know where in the Baronies

that dude is at, you know
how to get to his place.

You know where to find it.

- We have to go find my
dad's friend in the Baronies.

- Can you call him, like
call ahead to make sure

he's home and stuff?
- Alive.

- He's not Solesian, he
doesn't have a phone.

He doesn't have service.

- [gasps] Disgusting.
[Erika groans]

- And he doesn't have the internet?

- The Baronies doesn't have 5G yet.

- Can I send him an email?
- They think it'll-

- You can send, like an assassin

can get a message into the Baronies.

- I'm gonna craft an email.
- Great.

- [sighs] I hate talking
to my dad's friends.

- I know, they're always
like, you're bigger.

- And you guys also, it is getting late.

You guys are gonna need a long rest.

- From the medicine check I know

that she's okay, that she's getting-

- [Persephone] I've already started mine.

- [Brennan] You can tend
to her, you can absolutely.

- Okay.
- [gasps] Okay, you guys

I'm gonna cast create bonfire

down in the safe space.

There's a fire waiting for
us, it's really toasty.

- Love.
- Aw yeah, and my staff goes

[mimics wind rushing] and
this giant mushroom toadstool

springs up and it has a little
door and a little window.

- I'll make that throw blanket now.

- Okay, cute, like over the bonfire.

- I send, should I send
it, does this look good?

- Boop, okay.

- [Isabella] Oh what, you just sent it!

D!
- [Brennan] Amazing.

- We don't got time.

- Ostentatia, for the
love of God, please take,

can you fix the iPad, Legendarium?

- Can I with mending?

- Yeah, it is an artifact
so I'm gonna ask for,

give me a check here.

Give me a little smith's tools check.

- Do you think, need to check for Sam

for taking care of Sam?

- Yeah, give me a little
medicine check here.

- Can I also do a smith's tools check?

- Yeah, and actually you can, yeah.

Both of you make a check, go for it.

- [Rekha] Okay.
- 23.

- What do I add?

- Your wisdom plus your
proficiency so plus nine.

- 27.
- [Brennan] Wow!

- Let's go!

- Wait, I got a dirty 20.
- Dirty 20, amazing.

So Katja, you're helping.

You get a forge heated up and Ostentatia,

you have an anvil, you're
hammering on this crystal thing,

heating it up so that it remelts

and can turn back into a solid structure.

We're going to go into a long
rest before I run Sam's scene

so I just want to know if anyone is,

so you're fixing the crystal.

What is Antiope doing as the g*ng

gets ready to bed down for the night?

- I'm just gonna, like, I
do eventually put Sam down,

but I'm gonna take first watch.

- How, I'm so pretty?
[Brennan laughing]

- [laughs] I'm gonna take first watch

and kind of look out over everyone.

But I did want to pump
a lesser restoration

while I was holding you just
for whatever that's worth.

- Amazing, and the medicine check

we had from Danielle was what?

- 23, incredible.

You have an amazing poultice going.

You have something to like,
there's basically just like,

you get a medical kit out.

There's a little eyedropper.

You make this very rich,
it's like a herbal broth

that you can put some drops
in so that Sam is not like,

'cause it's very exhausting
what Sam is going through.

- Like essentially there's like a tube.

There's hollow reeds and stuff.

She makes like an IV drip.
- I love that so much.

So you have this sweet little
anarchist symbol on your phone

to light yourself so that you can put the,

and you guys see this little
scene of Sam bundled up

with Yelle there and
Antiope right by her side

with that lesser restoration

also looking out and keeping watch.

Katja and Ostentatia,
anything else before?

- Are we gonna end this scene
and move to the next thing?

- I just want to know what you're doing.

We're wrapping up and I want to know

what you're doing that night.

- Okay, well, I want to
do fun sleepover stuff.

- Oh yeah, oh yeah.
[group laughing]

- Great, Katja's doing
fun sleepover stuff.

- Yeah, I start a game of MASH going.

- Yeah!
- Oh, fun, toadstool.

- Incredible.
- Wait, put a T on there.

- [Persephone] I'm so sad I'm missing it.

- Oh no!
- Yeah, MASHT.

- I want to kiss and
tuck in all the horses

and the one pony.
- Amazing, incredible.

Candyheart's like, "Oh, I can't believe,

we sleep standing up."

- Candyheart, Candyheart?
- You don't?

- Yeah.
- Don't talk, just let it be.

- I know I'm bad to be around.
- Oh!

- [Brennan] And you see-
- I love Candyheart.

- [Aabria] Poor baby.

- I kiss her on the head anyway.

- [smooches] A little tuck in, amazing.

And then we're playing MASH.

Yelle, you're tending to Sam.

Ostentatia, before bed that night

I'm interested in a couple of things,

but also interested in like,

'cause you were gonna pray
for your spells that night,

what, if anything, after
everything you've talked about

with like Logran and all
this other stuff today,

how do you ask for your spells?

Or what are your prayers like

after all this sh*t you learned today?

- I feel like I'm asking...

[thoughtful piano music]

I mean, I don't know if
we're moving too fast.

- Go for it.

- But I feel like I'm asking Asha.

- Amazing, you pray to Asha.

Asha responds.

You feel her voice coming
from the stone underneath you

as you pray goes, "Belladonna,

know that great forces

will marshal behind you.

You speak for whichever force

you wish to speak for.

You are a hero in your own
right, and I tell you this now.

I am going to make sure
that you have the power

that you need and a
little something extra."

You feel sort of mystical
power filling you.

You hear her say, "I am
sorry that I had to depart.

There is great turmoil
in not only your world,

but in worlds beyond number.

And I do not know if there is time

for any others to discover
the trouble that is at hand.

You and your friends must bear a burden

greater than is right
or just to ask of you.

There are answers for you,

but like anything of beauty in this world,

it will take great
forging to create them."

And you get an extra spell
which is the Commune spell.

- Yeah.
[players cheering]

- We are going to move to Sam.
[ethereal music]

Sam, what is your emotional state

as you fall into this mystical?

- I feel like Sam first,

like it's almost like her catchphrase,

it's almost like she's drowning
in the waters of herself.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Like, I think that to get to the state

where she can take in this information,

it's sort of like plunging her deep below

the multiple layers of
her personality, trauma,

all the things that make up her

and she's sort of just
like, to get past that

she has to sort of take them
all in and feel each layer

before she can get to the base this low.

And so she is

imultaneously calm and distraught.

- In this place of, very aligned
with the element of water,

not only as a physical reality

but also sort of the meaning
of that idea of the tempest.

Like these feelings of
chaos or discomfort or pain

are going to come and
I'm going to accept them

as they are and go deeper.

You move through this
space and see the vision

of the mirror that Talura saw.

Talura mentioned to you in passing

that these traps that
had been made for them

by the gods, by these ancient beings

had a way for them to
leave, but she said that way

is certain death.
- Death.

- She looked for the past of her sisters

and saw her sisters all
choose to leave their mirror.

And you watch this
beautiful fiery woman smile,

touch the surface of her
mirror, step through it

and burst into flame
and her body is undone.

You watch the Earth meld into the glass

and shatter forward into stone,

each of them walking forward with a

smile on their face.

The air Eidolon like, laughing.

You see the eldest walk
forward, not with a smile

but kind of a knowing eyebrow c*ck

and see that she was the
first of them [snaps fingers]

to do this and did it almost
immediately upon being trapped.

And then you see this
beautiful gold and green

and wild-living energy walk out

looking very terrified
at the edge of the mirror

and looking almost like
a twin to Talura going.

[Brennan sobs softly]

Oh, [chuckles] and touching
the glass and smiling

and vines and moths and
bugs and little things

[mimics wind whistling]
going out into the world.

And that's the vision you see.

You have that wisdom
and know that to be true

as you awake at sunrise
the following morning.

[Persephone inhales sharply]

And that is where we stop our episode.

Tune in next time for
another thrilling episode

of Dimension 20: "The Seven," later!

[players cheering]
[players clapping]

- You just shot one of your
best friends with an arrow.

- Why?

- Are we immortal?

I take my dagger.

- Katja weeps, weeps.

- Well someone undo it!

- Apologize to your daughter.

- I'm very sorry.

- Mean it!

- You all have invitations
to a grand masquerade ball.

[Persephone gasps]
- [gasps] Oh my God!

- Is there a part of
Danielle that always wanted

to walk into a room and
turn everybody's head

and to have people truly
think she was exceptional

and want to get to know her?
[dramatic instrumental music]
