I'll read these books to you

Corduroy?

CORDUROY, THINKING: Okay.

I can carry it.

You sure now?

Uh-huh.

Hey, look.

There's a subway station

The subway's an underground

Here's your subway token.

Well, got to go.

Umm, Lisa, wait.

Could you do a big favour

Sure, Mrs. Chao.

What?

My bundle buggy is down in

the lobby.

It's got my groceries in it.

Could you bring it up to

my apartment?

See, this will be my second

trip downstairs.

And I'm finding these stairs

pretty difficult.

CORDUROY, THINKING: But we

have to get the sunflower back,

Lisa.

Sorry, Mrs. Chao.

I'm doing my gardening today.

But this won't take a minute.

Please, Lisa?

Well...

Well, I guess my gardening

can wait.

Thank you, Lisa.

I know.

But Mrs. Chao needs our help.

Come on.

[Panting]

It was easy going downstairs.

lot harder.

Wouldn't it be nice if these

stairs became an escalator?

We would just stand still.

moving for us.

First floor, lobby.

Second floor, third floor.

Third floor, fourth floor.

Shh, Corduroy.

[Knocking]

Oh, come in.

Come in.

Oh, thank you so much.

Hello.

[Meowing]

]] Hi, kit.

Wow.

You've got a lot of nice plants.

It's like a jungle in here.

Gardening is a hobby of mine.

Would you like to sit down,

Lisa?

I've got some ice tea.

Sure.

I got pretty hot running up

the stairs.

Oh, but my sunflower's still

down there.

Got to go, Mrs. Chao.

Whoa, whoa!

Hi, Lisa.

I tripped over one of Moppy's

toys, sprained my ankle.

Ouch!

Could you do me a favour?

There's a messenger downstairs

waiting in the lobby.

He's here to pick up

this package.

I'm afraid I might fall and

sprain my other ankle.

[Sighing]

Sure, no problem.

It looks like you could really

use some help.

[Inhaling]

[Sneezing]

[Baby giggling]

[Laughing]

[Sighing]

Boy, am I tired.

I think we went up and down

those stairs 100 times.

I'm too tired to climb

back up.

Me too.

[Whirring]

Huh?

The safety inspection's over.

And the elevator's back

in operation.

Great.

Going up.

Where's your sunflower?

Oh no!

I was so busy helping, I forgot

all about it.

[Laughing]

[Buzzing]

Is the elevator coming?

No.

Someone must be using it.

Strap on, Corduroy.

We better take the stairs.

The sunflower's broken,

isn't it?

It doesn't look very good.

MRS. CHAO: Lisa!

Lisa!

Is your plant okay?

I don't know.

Why don't you come up to

my apartment?

I can take a look at

your sunflower.

Oh, and I got something I'd like

you to take care of too.

Is my plant going to be okay?

Oh, yes.

Sunflowers are tough.

We just need to give it

something to hold onto until the

stem gets stronger.

Just like Moppy's dad has

crutches for his sprained ankle.

Exactly, just like crutches.

Now, I don't have a pole small

enough for the sunflower to

lean against.

But I have an idea on what we

could use.

A chopstick?

Great!

We'll just tie a little

string around both.

And here we are, as good as new.

Thank you for taking care of

my sunflower, Mrs. Chao.

You're welcome.

But there's something I wonder

if you could take care of

for me.

Sure.

But the elevator's

working again.

No, I don't want you to run

another errand for me.

Look at this.

Pretty.

It's a jade plant, Lisa.

They are a relative to

the cactus.

But a cactus can sometimes have

sharp needles.

Jade plants though have

smooth leaves.

They like lots of sunshine but

don't need a lot of water.

You'd like me to take care of

your plant?

I would like you to take this

jade plant.

It's a thank you gift.

You were so kind to help me and

the other tenants when the

elevator was not in service.

I love it.

I promise to take good care

of it.

I know you will.

Tired?

A little bit, but it feels

good to help other people,

especially because it makes you

feel good about yourself.

[Grunting]

Lisa?

Uh-huh?

Could you help me carry this,

please?

Sure, Corduroy.

All you got to do is ask.

Huh?
