Who's ready to play Goblins and Dragons:
Role Player Plus Edition?

-[all cheering]
-Revved and ready!

What are those? We've never played
Goblins and Dragons with toys before.

These aren't toys, they're figures.
I knew playing with kids was a bad idea.

But my regular G-and-D buds
are out of town, and I really wanna play.

My cousin Dre and I play this version.
Arthur's the Game Master, right?

He'll spin a story
about heroes on a journey.

-That's us.
-Ooh!

But first, we need to pick our characters.
That's where the figures come in.

So, I can be a wizard with a wand?

Can I be a big, buff barbarian?

I gotcha.

-Okay. Ada's an expert archer.
-Ooh, yay!

-Iggy's a wacky wizard.
-Yes, yes, yes!

-Rosie's a bodacious barbarian.
-Yee-haw!

-The new kid's a noble knight.
-Huzzah!

-[all laughing]
-That's how knights say, "Yeah, Boi!"

Can we do whatever we want
during the quest?

Only if we roll a number higher than 15.

If you roll a lower number,
when you try something in the game,

-it won't work.
-Not bad. New kid knows his G-and-D.

-[giggling]
-I guess.

[all giggling]

Quick, roll the dice!

-[Benny] 20!
-[all] Yes!

-[Iggy] 18!
-Yeah!

-[Rosie] 16!
-[Iggy] Woo-hoo!

-Aw, man! I rolled a five.
-[Iggy] Yikes!

That's ten lower than 15.

-So what should we call this game?
-How about The Kid Quest?

Let us begin.

You're walking through a magical forest
when suddenly you see… a Doom Dragon!

[Iggy] Oh, no!

The legendary Doom Dragon?

It's so buff, so spiky,
and check out those wings!

-[all shriek]
-It's so big and fiery! What do we do?

Iggy, you're a wizard! Cast a spell.

Oh... okay.

-I cast… Bubble Breath!
-[wand chiming]

-[grunts]
-[dragon burping]

[all cheering]

I'll try to hypnotize it
with my fancy firecracker arrow.

[Ada gasps] Oops.

I forgot my arrows won't work
'cause I only rolled a five.

Don't worry,
I'm gonna elbow-drop its tail.

-[laughs] I'll finish it off.
-[both grunt]

Get ready for a savage smackdown! [grunts]

-[roaring in pain]
-Initiating tongue tickle!

-[dragon cracks]
-[gasps] Uh-oh.

-[Ada] Yikes!
-[gasps]

My Doom Dragon!

-[Rosie] Oh, no!
-I'll fix it!

[all] Whoa!

-[mini smashes]
-Please be okay, please! [gasps]

-[dramatic music playing]
-It's okay, new kid.

That was a super-mega-ultra-rare
handmade mini,

but it was an accident.

Now, if you kids will excuse me,
I have a Doom Dragon funeral to plan.

-[sighing]
-It's okay, Benny.

-Maybe Arthur can get a new Doom Dragon.
-Yeah!

No way, not possible.

Doom Dragons are rare. Know why?
They don't make them anymore. [sighs]

It's our first G-and-D game with Arthur,
and I crashed it like a computer virus.

What if he never wants
to play with us again?

Ooh! I have an idea.

What if we dress up Lil' Liz
like a Doom Dragon?

I don't know.

Doom Dragons are fierce,
not fabulous like Lil' Liz.

Good point.

Lil' Liz is way too cute
to be a scary monster.

We could surprise Arthur
with a real dragon!

All we have to do is hatch a dragon egg,
and boom, problem solved.

But baby dragons can't
control their fire-breathing,

and it might accidentally
burn the G-and-D board.

Yikes! Then Arthur would
definitely never play with us again.

I wish there was a way
to clone Arthur's mini.

But what if you make too many clones,
and an army of Doom Dragons

takes over the world?

Hold up. We can't clone a Doom Dragon,

but we can make a copy with a 3D printer.

How it works is so cool.

First, you design
a 3D image on a computer.

Then the computer gives
instructions to the printer.

There are all kinds of ways to 3D print.
We'll do it like this.

The printer melts plastic
that looks like thin ropes, right?

Then it pushes them through a nozzle,

and a frame holds it
while it moves up, down, left, and right.

It builds a model in layers,
one slice at a time.

Wow! Mind. Blown.

But where are we gonna get a 3D printer?

We can make one! Right, Benny?

You know it!
Let us embark on a supply quest.

Charge!

[all laughing]

[Benny] We shall need the noblest nozzle…

Hmm.

Huh?

[Benny] …the perfect plastic…

[sighing]

[Benny] …the mightiest of motors…

-[Mooshu meows]
-Huh?

[Benny] …and last but not least,
a daring DVD drive.

[Mooshu purring]

Good job, everyone.

We're the best at quests.
Time to design and build our 3D printer.

[gasps] We could use race car tracks
for the frame.

-And we should get fans.
-To cool the plastic layers.

[Ada] Awesome!

-Well, let's build!
-[all] Yeah!

[upbeat music playing]

Not too shabby.

-Cool, right?
-[all cheering]

Okay, let's design a Doom Dragon.

I have no idea.
Maybe we should ask Arthur.

Wait a sec.
If I think super-duper-trooper hard,

I remember it had
a big mouth with tons of teeth.

Oh! And huge, flappy wings.

And it had feet
that were made for stompin'.

Okay, time to make a monster.

Loading the lab.

[magical music playing]

I'll give this design my best shot,

but it might not look
exactly like the original.

-[Rosie] Cool!
-[Ada] Looks dragon-y.

We cracked the code!

Initiating printer power!

-Awesome!
-Cool!

[Arthur sighs]

[roaring sadly]

Arthur, feast your eyes
on your brand-new Doom Dragon!

-[Iggy] Yeah!
-[Arthur sighs]

Thanks for trying, kids,
but that's not a Doom Dragon.

It's close, but it's just not the same.

-What the what?
-Phooey!

No problem. We're down, but not out.

Come on, let's keep beta testing.

Too many teeth.

Not enough teeth.

-Rosie, that's a unicorn.
-[sighs]

Look, kids, this is nice,
but my Doom Dragon was one-of-a-kind.

It had big, buff arms, wide, webbed wings,
and a super spiky back.

Thanks, but you can't copy
something that's handmade.

[sighs] I broke Arthur's mini,
ruined our Goblins and Dragons day,

and I can't fix it.

Shutting down.

Our printer's out of plastic.

And Arthur's Doom Dragon's one-of-a-kind.
We can't copy it.

Hmm. Arthur said it was
a super-mega-ultra-rare handmade mini.

[gasps] Handmade! I think I've got it!

Instead of trying
to copy the original mini,

why don't we make
a brand-new one that's equally epic?

-That's a next-level idea!
-Yeah! What should our monster look like?

Arthur said the Doom Dragon had buff arms,

webbed wings, and a spiky back.
If we combine all that stuff,

maybe he'll love his new mini
as much as his old one.

You know who has really strong arms?
Gorillas! They're buff!

Ooh! And bats have really webby wings.

And my favorite dinosaur,
the Stegosaurus, is spike-tacular.

Now all we have to do is add
these animal parts to our Doom Dragon.

Loading the lab.

[machine chimes]

[upbeat music playing]

I upgraded the jaw with this hinge,
so the monster won't break so easily.

[all laughing]

-Huh?
-Uh...

-[funeral music playing]
-[vacuum whirring]

[sighs] Feels like I was just
playing with him yesterday,

and this afternoon.

Arthur…

I told you,
copying my Doom Dragon's impossible.

We know, so, we made you a new mini.

Meet the Lab Lizard.

Huh?

-It's not like my Doom Dragon.
-[sighs]

-But it's so cool!
-[kids gasp]

-It's a true one-of-a-kind!
-We did it!

-Yeah!
-Yes!

I can't believe you kids
made a custom monster, just for me.

I mean, how many G-and-D players
have a mini that special?
