- Being roomies isn't always easy
for Count Fabulous and Watzie. - Even if I wasn't blinded by
the bling of Count Fab's new collar,
I could see that.
- Sorry, Count, but Watzie's growing into his spark
and he's zappy.
- But Watzie needs to be careful with Count's stuff.
This is the third time I've had to replace his collar.

Draculaura and I will go to the library to do more research
on the Sea Monster talisman while you're gone.

definitely reveal the existence of monsters to humans.

It seems my brand new monster detector found something.
As a senior monster researcher and monster device inventor,
I must explore further.

Ah! Great galloping ghosts!
I mean "monsters."
I think I'm about to prove that monsters really exist!

- Hello. Answer us, oh spirit of Hank!
Huh? - [barks]

Since monsters aren't real

Could it be that Apollo is harboring
the very monsters we secretly research?
- Uh, Ralph! Uh, Dad would love for you to
celebrate his birthday with us.

- I'm afraid I'm very busy-- - [barks]
- I mean not busy! I'm in.
- You'll need to turn off that something detector though.
- Oh. [device powers down]

- Make yourself at home while Clawd and I, um,
get some snacks. - Huh!
- We need to bust that something detector
that is obviously a monster detector
before Ralph figures out we are the monsters.
[device whirring]

- Ralph, we need a taste test on the salsa.
How is it? - [groans, shouts]
Water!
- The secret ingredient is ghost peppers.
Here, milk's this way.
[device whirring]
- [gulping]
- [gasps]
- Whoo, it's spicy! [chuckles]
But delicious. - That's what I like to hear.
- We better get back to that cake.
- All right, back to the hunt.
- [growls]

- I don't need a monster detector
to know something fishy is happening.
Ah! [shouts]
- [barks] - [groans]
Ah, no monsters.
It's just Apollo's adorable dog, Crescent.
Those monsters I saw before must be regular animals too.
I really need to get these fixed.
- [gasps]
Mega brainstorm! I got it!
All we need to find the Sea Monster talisman
is six pounds of chum, two sets of scuba gear,
and one time machine.
- Ah, right.
Well, before we start on that, let's check on the pets.
I hope they've made up.
[banging] - [gasping]

- Maybe they went back to our room?

- Seems like they worked out their differences.

- So this wasn't exactly the birthday bash
I saw in my head when we started planning it
because, again, Clawd and I are way different.
But differences are clawesome.
When we listened to each other,
it ended up being the best of both our worlds.
Yeah, the clean-up's gonna be kinda intense.
Worth it though!
- Ah, I had the weirdest dream.
Clawd and Clawdeen were monsters!

- Okay, iBall, here's what's going on.
When us boogeymonsters are teenagers,
we have to do this "rite of passage"
to show we're ready to grow up. Easy, right?
All I need to do is go into the Dreamworld
and conquer a Night Terror.
That's a gremlin that shows you your worst nightmare.
I've taken on lots of nightmares before
and I'm pretty good at it.
I use my boogey-power
to turn scary nightmares into sweet dreams.
But yesterday, I met my Night Terror.
Usually in the Dreamworld, I use my powers
to conjure up my favorite history books
and keep on reading while I sleep!
My history books!
- When you grow up, there is no time for fun reading.
Grown-ups have to be all work, all the time!
- , scream-mails?
And I have to reply to all of them?
- Yes. And constant calls on the iCoffin.
Plus, nonstop meetings
and public speaking every day! [evil laugh]
- No! I won't do it.
When I used my power,
I accidentally ripped the wall of the Dreamworld.
Which is bad because now the Night Terror can get into
the dreams of anyone at Monster High.
But that's a worry for when I'm not so sleepy.
[gasps] - [evil laughter]
You can't avoid growing up forever, Twyla!
- [gasps]
[sighs] It was just a dream.
- Huh? Caskets!
Clawdeen, how much sodium boo-carbonate
was I supposed to add?
Clawdeen! - [snoring] What?
- Whoa! Paws off the spookies, bunny!
Oh, it was just a dream. - "Bunny"?
You didn't see a rabbit monster in your dreams, did you?
- Yeah. It was all over my nightmares,
so I'm exhausted, and that's not just Sloth talking.
- Whoa, that's weird. Um, I saw the bunny too.
Same. And that rabbit thing was, like, % the cute freaky
but % bad freaky.
- Oh, no. My Night Terror is messing with your dreams?
- Grr! I fore-zee that you will clean up
before you leave, ztudents!
- Twyla? - Where'd she go?
- Oh, my! Whoo!
I may have the power of prophecy
but I did not zee you lingering there, Twyla.
But I do sense there is something big
about to happen in your life.
- You're right, Mr. Mothmanson.
I have to do the boogeyperson rite of passage.
- Of course.
In my years teaching, I have seen
many boogey-ztudents face this challenge.
It's much like how I changed from a caterpillar-kid
to a mothman--grr!-- in my teen years.
- But what if I'm not ready to change into
someone completely different? I don't like change.
- Hmm. You will change as you grow,
but you don't become zomeone else.
I'm still the caterpillar I was,
just--grr!-- better wings, obviously.
[laughs] - This is all too hard.
- Oh! I zee that with good friends by your side,
you can take on any challenge.
Now, you best be getting to your next class
or there will be a t*rd zlip in your future!

Rabbit monster attack! - Huh? Where?
- It was a nightmare, Deuce. I think I can help
if I can turn the Night Terror into something less scary.

to materialize in your dreams first.

When I try to do it, I feel like something is stopping me.

- When my mom met my dad,
she knew it was the start of something special.
You could say it was love at first bite!
[mic feedback]

It's time to grow up!

- This is a nightmare!
- If you want me to leave your friends alone,
just complete the rite of passage and defeat me,
if you can! [evil laugh]
- No! Too loud! I can't!
- Twyla?
- Twyla, what happened?
- Take your time. You're okay.
- I'm sorry, but my powers aren't working.
- I saw you use your dream manipulation power.
- So you can do it.
But maybe there's just something getting in your way?
- If I use my power and complete the rite,
then I have to grow up!
Which means changing who I am
and giving up everything I love,
and that's my worst nightmare.
- Growing up's scary,
but we'll be there with you growing up too.
- Draculaura's right.
And hey, we're here with you right now,
so maybe we can help you with the Night Terror.
- I think I like that idea.
- But I'm not a monster in this dream.
And a human doesn't stand a chance
against that Night Terror.
[gasps]
I'm re-were-wolfified!
Clawesome, Twyla. - [breathes deeply]
- We'll be right there the whole time.

[all gasp]
- Nope. Mm-mm.
Don't like the look of this. Let's leave.
- Hmm, it didn't hear us come in.
Maybe we can use the element of surprise?
- [shrieks]
- Stick to the plan and we'll distract it
until you're ready, Twyla.
- [grunts] - Ooh!
I guess my spells are a little snazzier in the Dreamworld!
- Ooh, I wonder what dream upgrades I got!
[gasps] Clawesome!
[grunts]
- Oh! My turn.
Slime instead of stone? Really? Come on, Dreamworld!
- [deep evil voice] Twyla alone must face me!
You have to face growing up,
which means you have to change
and give up what you love.
It happens to everyone.
Your parents grew up, Headmistress Bloodgood grew up,
Mr. Mothmanson grew up.
He couldn't stay a caterpillar forever.
- But he didn't really change.
He just got better wings!
Mr. Mothmanson said I don't have to change who I am,
and he's right.
I can still be who I want to be when I grow up,
just like making this dream whatever I want it to be.

- Huh, ah? Ah!
Huh. This is a good look for me!
Well, Twyla, I'm pleased to say
you have officially completed this rite of passage.
You're on your way to growing up.

- So, iBall, I completed the right of passage.
With the help of my friends and a good teacher,
it wasn't so hard after all.
- Good news, boo crew.
No more burned baked goods dancing through my head.
- So any time you wanna pop into my head
and give me some monster dreams, I'm cool with that.
- [sighs] I can finally sleep
since you banished that Night Terror thing.
- Well, actually, he's my pal now
since I transformed him into something friendly.
Add another skill to my boogey-powers list:
manifesting dreams in the real world.
Well, iBall, as I grow up, I don't have to totally change
or give up anything I love now.
And when I grow up, I'll find a job
where I can read lots of history books,
like maybe being a history teacher!
