You know, you've always needed someone to look out for you.

- I'll have you know I did it just fine by myself

while you were in Scaris.

monte-scary preschool.

and the early mastery of potty training!

That's all in the past.

Since I'm not inheriting the throne,

this ghoul's gotta make her own way in the world.

[knocking on the door]

Clawdeen?

- I came by to return the ring I borrowed.

- It could have waited until Monday.

Wait.

Why are you at school?

On the weekends, don't you go home?

[sobbing]

- Home!

[crying]

- What did I say?

[blows nose]

- I--I'm just homesick.

It's tradition in the Wolf house

that we eat my Dad's home-cooked jambalaya together

on Saturdays.

But because my dad's been traveling

to so many monster research conventions,

we've missed a few weeks.

I miss that home-cooked meal.

[sighs]

[blows nose]

Well, I'm gonna to go wallow.

[gasps]

- I just how to cheer Clawdeen up.

I am going to get her that home-cooked meal!

And not only that, it'll be a surprise!

A party!

A surprise dinner party!

"This ghoul's gotta make her own way in this world" thing?

This will be the perfect dinner!

This dinner is going to be a disaster!

- I've had this vacation planned for months.

I'm heading to a spooky human place called Pennsylvania!

I promised everyone in school!

called a "Philly cheesesteak."

[panicked squeaking]

- Huh, maybe my mummy curse powers could help.

By the power of Ra, this kitchen is under the rule

of Cleo De Nile--oh!

Ah!

Oh! Ugh!

Ah, curse powers cease!

[gasping]

Oh, why do curse powers have to be so cursey?

Maybe I do need some help.

[beep]

- And so, that's how vampires settled in Staten Island.

- Thanks.

[yawns] Staying awake--

I mean, um, engaging in all that really

made me work up an appetite.

I'm gonna go hunt down a snack.

- Wait, you can't eat because I, uh,

need help sorting my potions.

It's a mess.

- Um, no, it's not.

- Okay, they look good, but they need to be put in order

by best to worst smelling.

And you're the one with the werewolf nose.

- [sniffing] Hm, wolf-bane.

[sniffing]

[gags]

- Uh, Cleo, how's it going down there?

- Not good.

I had to call inreinforcements.

Luckily, Heath is on his way.

Just buy me more time!

- I thought the invite said--

hey, what's the deal?

Where's the grub?

- There's not going to be any grub unless you help me.

- Fine.

What are we making?

- Okay, so Clawdeen is craving her dad's dish,

something called jambalaya.

Recipe should be in here.

It's a cookbook for humans.

- Preheat your human-sized pot.

Add a human.

Is this right?

Maybe we should call your sister.

Didn't she study at culinary school?

- I don't need my family's help.

- [yelps]

[book chomping]

[yelling]

- You're going to let a little book bite scare you?

Typical Heath.

[groans]

Who else can cook?

- You said you needed a hand?

- Thank Ra, Frankie.

I found a recipe online for jambalaya.

"My first bite of jambalaya was at my grandmother's house.

"While the zombie horde destroyed everything,

"I narrowly escaped with the recipe.

"Each grain of rice grown with love

"and harvested by tentacle.

"And that's why, every time I hear the buzz of the fireflies

"and feel the swamp breeze on my neck,

I think of this recipe."

- What a beautiful story.

I just wish it went on longer.

- What? That's it?

It just ends there.

There aren't even instructions at the bottom

of this folksy anecdote.

Whatever.

I know we'll need a pot.

- I'm on it.

[upbeat spooky music]

- [laughing]

This one comes with a hat.

Rock those pots and pans.

[laughs]

Sorry I wasn't of more help, Cleo.

[crash]

[phone beeps]

- It's supposed to be cooked, not frozen.

- Sorry.

In my family, we mostly eat iced goods.

So I always have a TV dinner, frozen turkey,

ooh, frozen pizza.

- No, it's got to be jambalaya, Abbey.

[grunting]

Ahh!

- [sniffing] Ew.

Uh, I don't know why you have a potion that

smells like troll armpits,

but that's definitely the worst one.

And I'm done.

So how about that snack?

- You know, organizing by smell doesn't feel right.

Maybe we should start over by color?

- Yikes. - Clawd!

Clawd, Clawd, Clawd, this is your family's special dish.

How do we make it?

- How am I supposed to know?

- I've been in Beheme most of my life.

Have you asked Nefera? - No.

My family is legit amazing,

which means monsters think that everything I do

is because of them.

Like I take the De Nile family shortcut.

So I'm doing this on my own.

Now get cooking.

- There, done.

[stomach rumbling]

- Uh, uh, that one is out of order.

It's more O-negative red than scarlet.

- [grunting]

Finished.

For real.

Now can we please go to the Coffin Bean

and get something to eat?

You ever seen a hungry werewolf before?

- Sure. I've seen you peckish.

- No, I mean really hangry.

Trust me, you don't want to. - No!

Um, I need you to help me make a new potion because, uh,

Count Fabulous has a terrible case of bad bat breath,

and I need to fix it before it turns to, uh, bad gas.

[squeaking] - Really?

I never noticed. - Yep.

And he's so embarrassed, and we have to go

get the last ingredient for the potion from the woods.

Sorry. I'll make it up to you.

- [grumbles]

[alarm ringing]

- [groans]

- Do the honors?

[boom]

[rumbling]

[clatter]

[chirping]

- Ugh.

[howling]

- [sighs] I give up.

The night is ruined.

I shouldn't have even tried.

- It was a great idea to put this dinner

together for my sister.

Growing up without her lets me see how lucky I am

to be able to rely on her now.

Question on my homework?

I ask Clawdeen.

Need to scratch an itch I can't reach?

Clawdeen's got my back.

You don't think that's cheating since I'm not

doing it on my own, do you?

- What? No.

Clawdeen wants to be there for you.

- Right.

No shame in letting someone who wants to help give you help.

- Ah, I need to make a call.

[phone beeping]

[screaming]

- Cleo, we're in real trouble here.

- Must eat.

Too hangry!

[gasps]

[roars]

- I don't know how much longer I can

keep her from the Creepeteria!

You better have something for her to eat, or else!

- [growls]

- Ugh.

[groans]

[angelic music]

- I'm here. I'm here. I'm here.

I came as soon as you called.

- Thanks for helping me, Nefera.

- Oh, don't think of it as me helping you.

I'm doing it for Clawdeen.

- That's even better.

- Now stand aside while I call on Heset,

the goddess of food and--

- Nefera, it's still my dinner, remember?

- Oh! Right, right, right.

Sorry, sorry.

Why don't you-- why don't you just tell me what you need?

- [growling] Hungry.

[sniffs] [gasps]

- Clawdeen, wait!

Come back!

- [growling]

Huh?

all: Surprise!

- What's going on?

- Since you couldn't go home, I wanted to bring it to you.

- Aw, Cleo.

You went through all this trouble for me?

- Everyone helped, especially Nefera.

Bones appétit.

- [slurping]

Ah, delicious.

So what's for dessert?

[ominous electronic music]

♪ ♪

- Hola, iBall!

I was just thinking about how much I love Monster High.

It is a place where my ferocityis respected and admired.

[struggling]

- What a monster!

- I heard her shark powers are so fierce,

she can smell prey from across the school.

- Here, I have manyamazing friends,

like Draculaura,

a loyal friend who hasagreed to keep

my beloved Señor Squeaky,a precious toy I got

when I was just a minnow,a secret.

Not because there is anythingwrong with my Squeaky,

but because others may thinkme less ferocious

if they knew I needed his comfort.

But with my secret safe, the only thing to worry about

is Intro to Boo-logy.

Who knew zombificationwas so complicated?

- [groaning] Flies.

[frogs moaning]

- Nice.

- High five, Iris.

Ahh!

- Flies.

- [imitating groaning] Flies.

Hm.

Need more zombie juice.

[pensive music]

♪ ♪

[frog ribbits]

Yes, zombie frog.

Uh, very zesty zombie frog.

- Lagoona, that's not zombie juice.

It looks like Essence of Life.

- Essence of Life?

Why do they make all the bottles of monstery science

the same size and shape?

- Ahh! Ugh!

- Get back here.

You were supposed to be zombified,

not brought to life.

- Oh!

[frog ribbits]

- [gasps]

So my zombificationexperiment was a fail.

Now I have to do an extra credit test to make up for it,

which will be very stressful.

And so then Señor Squeaky will be coming with me.

Squeaking Squeaky is very good for relieving such stresses,

and that is my monster minute for tonight.

To Boo-ology!

- Hello, class.

I, Nefera, who you might know

as Cleo's sister and future pharaoh,

will today be the teaching assistant for your test.

So we have Ghoulia, Manny, Frankie,

Spectra, Lagoona--

wait, where's Lagoona?

[rumbling]

[gasps]

[dramatic music]

- Sorry, Nefera.

- Oh, the future pharaoh welcomes all,

no matter how their entrances soak her mummy wraps.

- Travel by pipes comes with a splash zone.

- Just don't splash Frankie on your way to your desk.

They're electric.

- Sure am.

- Why are you two here?

I thought you were on the horror roll.

- Oh, I never pass up an opportunity for extra credit.

- And I missed class last week

'cause I was out for Zombie-Con.

- Okay, freshmonsters, now that you're all here,

test time.

You'll have minutes to finish.

[tense music]

♪ ♪

[squeaking]

Good luck, and begin.

♪ ♪

- [yawns]

♪ ♪

[grinding]

[electricity crackling]

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

[grunting]

- Frankie, are you okay?

- Fine and dandy.

Electricity gets the brain bits moving.

- [whispering]

- Mm-hmm.

- Maybe just one more squeeze.

I got this, right, Señor Squeaky?

[gasps] Señor Squeaky?

[gasps] Gone?

[tense music]

♪ ♪

No, no, no.

Where could you have gone, Señor Squeaky?

- [snoring]

[buzzing]

- What's wrong, Lagoona?

- I'm missing something.

- What?

- Something very important.

- Lagoona, Ghoulia, what are you doing?

[gasps] Are you cheating?

both: What? Cheating?

No.

- Oh, good.

Cheating is worse than grave robbing in my humble opinion,

but talking's fine. Carry on.

- Hey, Lagoona.

Is something wrong?

- She lost something.

- Maybe I can help you find it.

What is it?

- I can't tell you what it is.

[growls]

But someone in this room took it.

Aha!

Manny Taur, what is this mysterious pink thing?

- What?

- I'll ask the questions here?

- What is this?

- Well, it-- it's my nervous towel.

I'm not ashamed to say I get sweaty when I get nervous.

Extra credit is thrilling, but it still tickles my nerves,

in the same way you asking so many questions does.

- Right, okay.

Towel. Fine.

- [chuckling]

- Frankie. [growls]

You said you wanted to help me find who did this,

but did you say that only because you were

trying to cover up the fact that it was you?

- Uh, no.

- Oh, okay.

Spectra. - Whoa!

- You left the classroom right when my thing went missing.

You could have taken my thing.

- Yeah, no.

School stuff like this gives me major anxiety,

so I asked Nefera if I could call my Ghoul-ma.

- True!

I was like, yeah, go call your Ghoul-ma,

because whenever I get anxious about being the next pharaoh,

a chat with my mummy and baba always makes me feel better.

- Spectra, I am sorry for lobbing such accusations.

That is not okay.

I am very glad you talked to your Ghoul-ma.

I also get test stresses.

That's why I brought the missing thing with me.

- Well, if you tell us what the missing thing is,

we can help you find it.

- Yeah, no shame in having something that helps you.

- You were all quite honest, and so I shall be too.

The missing thing is Señor Squeaky,

my toy from when I was just a minnow.

all: Aww.

- But now you all think I'm adorable,

not a ferocious and terrifying monster.

[growls]

- [stammering] Well, I think sharing your vulnerabilities

is the fiercest.

- You can be adorable and horrible.

- Oh, nothing can make us think you're less terrifying.

You're more voltageous than I was a few minutes ago

when I stepped in that puddle and went all electric

and hit the bookcase, and that bottle of Essence of Life

went flying off, and-- - Essence of Life?

- Yeah, it flew off the shelf and went right over to--

- The Essence of Life.

And it's empty.

[person screams] [squeaking]

- [gasps] - What is that thing?

- You ever get the feeling that Señor Squeaky was brought

to life by that Essence of Life

and is now causing chaos in the school?

- Class!

The test!

Well, they better be back before time's up.

- What is this?

Are piranhas allowed to be off leash?

[gasps] The nerve!

I'm a mummy, not a chew toy.

[squeaks]

- Get that runaway squeaker!

[squeaking]

- Squeak.

- You can outrun a zombie,

but not a zombie on a skateboard.

[squeaking]

[suspenseful music]

♪ ♪

- [gasps]

Did the Essence of Life wear off?

[squeaking]

[crash] - Ghoulia?

- It's okay.

I'm a zombie.

[clattering]

Already undead.

I just need a moment.

♪ ♪

- Eee!

- I'll head him off at the pass.

I got you.

Epic poltergeist fail.

- Fear not, Lagoona.

I, Frankie Stein, they/them, lover of ice cream,

child of the Dr. Stein, shall be the one--

- Just go, Frankie!

- Oh, uh, right.

♪ ♪

Time to zap that squeak.

♪ ♪

[squeaking]

Huh, I had no idea that was possible.

Science is amazing.

- My Señor Squeaky!

How will I get him back?

- Got to trust those monster instincts, ghoul-friend.

- Yes.

[gasping]

- [gulps] Ahh.

[squeaking]

Uh, that's not my lunch.

- [sniffing]

My shark-like nose can sniff out prey miles away.

He's here.

- But I don't see him.

- [hiccupping]

- Manny, ready your towel.

Spectra, scare the hiccups out of Goobert.

- [shrieking]

- Ahh!

- My Squeaky!

Thank you, everyone.

- Hm, according to my Dr. Blunder brain bit,

based on his size, the essence will wear off,

and Señor Squeaky will be back to his normal,

un-animated self in about an hour.

- Which is way less time than we have to finish our test.

[frog ribbits]

- [hiccups]

- Lots of monsters get nervous,and every monster

has their own wayof dealing with nerves.

Some of us have towels.

Some of us call our Ghoul-mas,

and some of us have Squeakies.

And sometimes, the best thingto do when you're nervous

is talk about it withthe monsters you care about.

The most fantastic thingis now that all my friends know

about Señor Squeaky,I can be my complete self

at Monster High--adorable and ferocious.

It's the way it should be.

Don't you agree, Squeaky?

[squeaks]
