well I thought of a great way to make it

up to me it involves another cake oh

challenge is coming from Grandma it's

bound to be a nice gentle break for the

Fetchers oh ruffy it just occurred to me

you might want to clear my challenge

with the fet's parents you know because

of the grizzly bears the what bye

dear life was missing its Mystique my

squeaky toys had lost their squeak and

then out of the blue I saw the phone and

Bam my destiny was calling

me pitch my vision for a show they loved

it thought I was a pro they got my

contract back to fine to their alarm a

dog head signed oh I like that

six contestants all were great and now

I'm on the road to fame I've got a game

show and it name is it's very

catchy it rolls off the

tongue I'll get the fire

the reality game show where the host

asks the question what's the challenge

today and answers it with I have no idea

wait wait so you don't have a challenge

for us well my grandma called me earlier

today and Ry I'm right here it's a

little rude to talk about people like

the not in the room

hey well hello fetes it's Grand Grandma

Ruffman and my adorable great grandson

Glen so apparently uh grandma got a

phone call earlier today from my dear

friends Tucker and fig and their persons

are getting

married so I want to get them something

nice and do you know what I was thinking

how my grandson squished my cake with

that big awful truck two seasons ago

that I worked so hard on oh yeah yeah

that wasn't very nice Uncle W it was an

accident so I figured this was a good

way for my grandson to make it up to me

what challenge number

one go make a cake Shreya would you be a

dear and get the instructions out of the

mailbox I'll also need Emmy oh and the

boys with the same name Mar and

Marco now go get it no grandma that's

Challenge number two oh oh right this is

the one with the uh you know the M right

it's a the picnic basket yes now I sent

you the picnic basket it's uh on the

wagon it's my wedding gift to Fig and

Tucka person they like to go camping so

I just want to make sure it can keep out

you know squirrels Chipmunks grizzly

bears this is AJ she works with some

experts who can test your picnic basket

out any challenges today so for the six

contestants who are uh doing Grandma's

errands up to 100 points are at Stak in

wo look at those delicious cakes hey

guys welcome to the pastry shop I'm York

this is sha we both are cake artists

we're faced with a little bit of a

challenge today we have to actually make

a wedding cake it's a fun couple and

they're getting married

tonight tonight tonight isn't that

exciting I'm going to call the

Fetchers hello hello fetches excuse me

Grandma Ru I'm talking here now yor

vegies I have a wonderful idea an

extreme frosting challenge doesn't that

sound

nice here's some information about the

bride and groom Steve is the groom

Denise is the bride Denise's favorite

color is green Steve's is blue Denise

was raised on a chicken farm Steve made

Denise's wedding ring out of a quarter

they love music Sports and the outdoors

Grandma I'm still talking rough now

we'll have two teams the girls team taka

and the boys team fig each team will

Design and frost a wedding cake for

Denise and Steve yes but ruffy grandma

is on the phone now we're going to let

the bride and groom decide at the

wedding which cake will be their wedding

cake so go make a wedding cake Grandma

this is my show yes but I'm making it

better

dear Jay and Ruby need to go find AJ are

you AJ I am we were sent by Rock he

wants to make sure that thisof we have

some experts here you want to ask them

yeah these guys are grizzly bears they

are one of the largest bears in North

America

wow look at those claws all of the Bears

here at the grizzly and wolf Discovery

Center are bears that learn to get food

from Human areas in the wild so they're

all bears that came into human areas to

get food and that can cause a problem

for people and for the Bears this is

Illy probably weighs about 700 lb and

there's her brother Sam Sam is almost

1,000 lb their mom disappeared when they

were just little CBS and they learned to

beg and get food from people to survive

anybody knows if your container is bear

prooof these guys will know how are we

going to test it put the basket in there

that sounds like a good idea to me no

admittance authorized personnel only

it's important to know that we would

never go back here while the Bears are

back here goodbye basket see you I think

that basket will hold up just fine

against the grizzly bears uh let's check

it on the other team like here it's

design time and around and end up with

their marriage right at the top we can

have green here and blue here but we got

to kind of have them like meshing

together I think we should start like

with the chicken what should be on the

top there has always say on top oh I

know how about me the chicken chicken

better than me that's the obvious choice

think we can have things kind of popping

out so you're like airbrushing your

scenery on the cake and you can make

pieces that actually stand by themselves

against the that's about two dogs right

here so they're like and Grandma Ruffman

has to be on this cake oh girls I

couldn't possibly um could you make sure

you get my left side that's my good side

bring in the bears oh man do they

come IL use her senses oh my gosh well

what do we have here looks like a picnic

basket well I haven't seen one of these

in a while there'll be a door here

somewhere oh no see it I'll just take

the whole thing hey what do you got

mine yeah I want some too I smell a

sandwich will they ever really hurt each

other they're brother and sister they

probably don't want to hurt each other

ruffy call the fetch alonis Fetchers fet

tunies Fetchers well call the fetch

holas see how the basket's

doing hello hey Fetchers how that uh

yummy lunch holding up your basket kind

of got destroyed oh that basket wouldn't

really make a good wedding present at

least not now well your challenge

Fetchers is to make a be proof picnic

basket but just to let you know those

things weigh like up to 1,000 lb so this

is going to be a hard challenge oh yes

they quite big so uh you better get

brainstorming now the fetches have their

designs they need to bake their cakes

before they can Frost them we have our

chocolate cake we have our Cherry

filling first we're going to make a ring

around it with buttercream and we put

some in look how nice that is then we

take the spatula and just like equally

spread this out okay it's really good so

then we take the next layer we put it

right on top of it we'll take that again

we'll repeat eat this so we're going to

completely coat this in uh the

buttercream

voila you're next of course we start by

washing our hands your makes it look so

easy so that's the smallest layer we

have two more to go okay all right let's

do it good job here's your

basket really are you serious that is

your basket the bear is completely

completely destroyed it how are we going

to make a bear prooof picnic basket

Bears use three main tools to get it

food in the wild and they use them to

get into picnic baskets as well this is

a grizzly bear skull impressive skull

and terrifying they have these huge

canines for ripping and tearing they

also have really big MERS in the back

wow for crushing and grinding bear tool

number one they have ginormous te for

ripping tearing and

crushing then look inside that Bear's

nose the smell receptors are attached to

that bone in there that looks like that

sponge Bears can smell about 2,000 times

better than you Bears can smell 2,000

times better than people so odor

proofing the picnic basket will be kind

of

tough look at this claw and how it looks

like a shovel they're very sharp Bears

can tear and dig up just about anything

uh-huh massive

claws so the Fetchers just have to

design a picnic basket to withstand a

th000 lb bear with huge teeth and

enormous nose and bionic claws this is

the next step we filled all the cakes

now we're going to cover it in fondant

what's fondant that is fondant that

smells so good fondant is like frosting

dear first they roll out the fondant

into a thin layer then they drape it

over the iced cake give it some

pressure we're going to finally start

decorating so what we have is these

really fun molds here dog paws dog bones

music notes uh how do we use the bolds

take the fondant make a little ball then

you want to turn this into the flower

like this then you press it in here you

just go like this and this should come

right out and give a good slant the

whole

mold I'll redo

this here comes my buddy Steve who can

help Ruby and Jay with the Bare

Essentials I'm a material scientist and

a mechanical engineering professor and

so designing building and testing things

is what I do best so I brought some

stuff in the workshop let's go and take

a look what we can do we need to figure

out what is exactly the problem here and

then figure out what our solution is

well I videotape the Bears trying to get

into the picnic basket this is when

Billy goes and notices the baskets she

got her foot up on it huh yeah and then

she just takes it Che breaks it down

with her paw well that was fast how'd

this process occur what happened first

how did the Bear get to the food the

first thing that happened was Illy

smelled the basket and then what problem

do we have after the smell we have their

K9 teeth their claws good so now we can

do this two ways we can either make

something entirely new or we've got this

wonderful picnic basket over here that

we can change and make it bear prooof

based on what you guys now know I think

we should change the our already

existing picnic basket remember the bear

bit into the edge and grabbed the picnic

basket the teeth just sunk right into

that easy soft wood is there something

we could do to to make that more

difficult maybe we could encase it in

something that was hard and even smooth

plexiglass plexiglass all right I've got

the plexiglass here why don't you guys

make the measurements and I'll cut it

okay they're going to build a box around

the picnic basket and they're using

plexiglass so the bear can't get its

teeth into it we need make sure that

we're measuring our our largest uh width

14 in ought to do the trick 11 and a/4

an 114 so we've got our two sides now

what about these sides okay let's

measure that side too 17 and2 how are we

going to make that thing smell proof we

could use the Topp aware maybe even

cover them in um tin foil really double

up to make sure we cut the scent we're

going to need to drill holes in the

plexiglass get the hole in there slide

it in down there

perfect I got a those tightened already

hey this looks good it might work I

think so well hopefully it'll protect

the picnic basket more than the first

test which had no protection

whatsoever for the top of our cake we

have a pile of dog bones can we make

them out of chocolate white chocolate so

instead of having the the chicken and

the two dogs take away the chicken and

have the two doxins on Top chicken out

doon's in a victory for dogs everywhere

the wedding starts in 4 hours 4 hours to

go guys here's your white chocolate

oh my God so it's just feeling your s

like this okay like we have to make the

dogs the heart the bikes I'm going to

make the quarter

ring that's pretty good chicken sh there

you go nice that's how you cover things

up de I don't want to rush you but only

two more hours until the wedding you're

making art with food so you can like

appreciate art art while eating it I

always appreciate art when it's

edible all right I think we should put

it upside down so the most delicate part

is is on the bottom so do you think our

picnic basket is bear proof usually the

best we can do is make a container

that's bare resistant now be resistant

means that bears have had contact with

it for 60 minutes and getting no food

from it what we might want to do is time

this next test I have the stopwatch

right so as soon as they make pause on

contact I'll start oh jeez oh oh as soon

as box is in view oh oh oh No Just no

they're not breaking it's not breaking

guys oh no come on oh

at this so once you go on the cake and

you spray that's the way it's going to

look like okay you feeling good about

here this is why we make prototypes wait

wait wait there's something interesting

I noticed the

plexiglass bent it never broke so it's

very strong and durable we used the PVC

pipe and cut out a circle we could make

it like that and have it be a tube so it

would be strong and it would bend less

they're making a picnic basket out of

that white tube so what what makes a

picnic basket a picnic basket it has to

be lightweight and comfortable to carry

needs to be roomy it needs to have a lid

I'd like to see a Little Red Riding Hood

carrying a tube to Grandma's

house we're not going to be able to keep

the bear from smelling the food so no

matter what we do we've got to make our

picnic basket strong enough so the bear

can't get in so we could use like a pad

lock yeah and keep the top

locked hey it holds great wow that

cylinder does look pretty sturdy

all right that's pretty

tight now we have to put the food in

Juice sandwiches the

lock we've got the bottom which is

secure with plexiglass and bolts you got

a really strong pad lock so we ought to

be good I got the key Bear's not getting

it we're taping the keep outs sign on

hoping that the Bears can read and

actually obey keep out

finishing touches hurry hurry girls pain

faster faster so let's take the two dogs

and we'll put them up here careful with

my hair dear put those on the road easy

careful we're done and finished on time

fantastic just going to get the other

that is an improvement guess I have to

which is the same thing as the cologne

like the cakes have arrived just in

time hey it's big and Tucker all decked

out Grandma the Fetchers are looking
