♪ Timon and Pumbaa ♪

This sure is a beautiful
country, Timon.

Eh, it's an okay
place to visit, but

I'm ready to get back to that
jungle chaos we call home.

Did you pack my camera?

You mean your brand new,
super-duper expensive one?

Yeah, the one with
the price tag still on it.

It's packed.

Okay then, we just have to pack
up this unused spending money,

our irreplaceable travel
visas and these very expensive

gold-plated commemorative
souvenir plates. There.

Uh, you better keep a good
eye on that suitcase, Timon.

Ah, you silly worry warthog.

Just 'cause it's
crammed full of valuables

doesn't mean
someone's gonna swipe it

the second we turn our backs.

Timon, the suitcase was swiped
the second we turned our backs!

Aah! There it is! Stop, thief!

Uh, he didn't stop, Timon.

We'll report it to the police. They're
trained to handle stuff like this.

Yes, sir, if there's
anyone who can help us,

it's the police.

- We can't help you.
- But we'd like to.

- But we can't.
- It's impossible.

- Unless you saw the perpetrator.
- And can describe him.

But we did see him.

An eyewitness!

Yeah, that's a bird
of a different feather.

- I'll make a composite sketch.
- Okay, what'd he look like?

It was a raccoon.

- Be more specific.
- Explicit.

- Precise.
- Exact.

You know, black and
white, kinda stripey.

Not that stripey.

A bit more fur.

Not so fat.

Fewer spots.

Not so smelly!

No!

That's your man, officer!

Oh, a raccoon.

Why didn't you say
so in the first place?

- Would've saved time.
- Not to mention paper.

Grrr!

Alright, now, a
raccoon with a suitcase

cannot exceed a traveling speed
of more than eight miles per hour.

- We'll seal off the entire area.
- 1,000 mile radius.

- Conduct an extensive ground search.
- We'll find him.

- We always catch our man.
- Or raccoon in this case.

- Even if it takes weeks.
- Months.

- Years.
- Hey, look! There he is!

Right over there!

Get him!

Stop right there.

- There's nowhere to run.
- Nowhere to hide.

- You're under arrest.
- Yeah.

We'll need you to identify the
culprit from a lineup. Ready?

- No problem.
- Ready!

Oh, no! They all look the same!

Which one is it?

I think it's that
one on the end.

Number seven, step forward,
state your name, please.

They name is thief.

Spell it.

"T," "h," as in hello, i-e-f.

That spells thief.

Thief! He's the
one! He's the one!

Okay, Mr. Thief.

It's pronounced thyfe.

Well, Mr. Thyfe,
you're going to jail.

And you can pronounce
that any way you like.

But-but I'm innocent! I didn't
steal their suitcase. I found it.

Here, you can have it back.
If I'd known it belonged to you,

I would've just, you know, left it
where I found it. Hands off. No problem.

Oh, thanks! He's so cute.

Nice cover-up, thief.

But we're not buying
it. You're guilty.

How can I be guilty if nobody
actually saw me steal it?

You didn't see him
steal the suitcase?

Well, i-i-i...

No, we didn't see him. It happened
when our backs were turned.

Well, if there's no witness to the
crime, -then ergo, there's no crime.

-And if there's no crime,
-then you're free to go.

See ya!

I can't believe those
mooks let him go scot-free.

I guess there's no way to actually
prove he really stole our suitcase.

Hello there, clown boys.
Just wanted to let you know.

I really did steal
your suitcase.

I knew it!

What are we gonna do now, Timon?
Track him down and get our stuff back?

Don't you worry, Pumbaa.
We'll get our stuff back.

But there's something even
more important at stake here.

Uh, what's that?

Justice! J-u-s-tice!

And if justice won't make
that lowdown crook pay,

I will!

You know what they say,
Pumbaa, don't get mad...

- Get happy?
- No.

- Get crackin'?
- No!

Uh... get on someone's nerves?

No, Pumbaa. It's don't
get mad... Get even!

We gotta get even!

That's funny 'cause
you sound kinda mad.

Grrr!

Heh heh heh!

I don't know if I feel
right about this, Timon.

Getting even with thyfe
seems kind of immature.

Well, it's not like I'm gonna pull
some childish prank, Pumbaa.

Well, what are you gonna do?

I'm gonna order him 100 pizzas
and he won't be able to pay.

Pizza delivery! 100
pizzas for Mr. Thyfe.

Congratulations. You're
our one millionth customer.

And you get all your pizzas,
all 100 of them, free of charge.

But that's not all.

You've also won a brand-new car!

A tropical vacation and
thousands of dollars in cash money.

But wait! There's more!

Uh, if we're trying to get even,
how come he came out ahead?

Don't worry, my porcine pal,
I have an even better plan.

Shh!

Now, you keep a lookout
and stay very quiet.

We don't wanna wake him.

Psst! What's the word, hog boy?

Oh, my friend is
pulling a prank on...

What?

If you're here and that
there, then who's... uh-oh.

Timon!

Aah!

Aah! A gorilla!

Why can't we just
go home, Timon?

'Cause we gotta get even.

Yah! Hoo hah! Whoo!

Perfect, Pumbaa.

Now this is what I call
taking out the trash.

Maybe careening out of
control down a mountain

will teach that no good thief to
mess with Timon and Pumbaa.

You better hurry up
and unhook me, Timon.

I think something very
painful is about to happen!

Aah!

Methinks you're right.

Aah!

That's our stuff!

- Hold it right there!
- You're under arrest!

Don't need your
fancy story this time.

- We've caught you red-handed.
- Red.

Serves you right, you thief.

Hold the phone! It's
pronounced thyfe. Thank you.

See, Pumbaa? I told
you we'd get even.

Now we can go home with
that oh, so satisfyin' feeling.

That justice has
prevailed once again.

Yay!

And we can sleep soundly
and not worry about anything...

Or anybody or anyone.

Hmm.

Wow!

There goes another one
of those little glowy lights,

zooming across the
big, bluish, black thing.

I wonder what they are.

Well, Pumbaa, I
don't wonder. I know.

Then, uh, what are they?

Those little glowy
lights are, uh...

Chunks of the big, bluish, black thing
that have broken off and are flying to

other parts of the
big, bluish, black thing.

Gee, Timon, you're so
incredibly filled with smart brains.

That's right, Pumbaa.

You ask all the questions
and I have all the answers.

That's why we work so well as
bestest, best friends, ya know.

And nothing ever, never, ever
will never, ever come between us.

You got that right, pal.

Aah!

Whoa!

Look at that!

It's a chunk of the
big, bluish, black thing.

- So?
- So what are we going to do?

You're the brains
of this outfit.

What are we gonna do?
What are we gonna do?

What do you mean,
"what are we gonna do?"

Timon, it's a chunk of
the unknown up there.

It doesn't belong on
the regular down here.

Don't get all cosmical kooky on me,
Pumbaa. I'm not wearing my crystal.

But that makes the up there
and the down here out of balance.

I believe we should
put it back up there,

where it belongs.

Hakuna matata. No
worries, remember?

And we're not going to
worry about this chunk of junk.

I strongly believe in my
head that we should put it back

up in the big, bluish, black
thing, where it belongs.

And I strongly believe in my head that
we should have nothing to do with it.

We are going to put it back.

We are going to have
nothing to do with it.

Put it back!

Nothing to do with it!

Back!

No!

Interesting.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.

- Ow!
- Hey, what's the big idea, you?

Oh, hello, Rafiki. I just
love saying your name.

Rafiki, Rafiki, Rafiki!

Do you have a license
to carry that thing, pal?

What's with the
whacks on the head?

Just trying to knock some
sense into you two, that's all.

It appears you could use some.

What I could use
is some aspirin.

I can see clearly
what has happened.

This chunk of the big, bluish,
black thing fell between you.

Now one of you wants to
put it back where it belongs

and the other one wants
nothing to do with it.

Am I right?

This guy really creeps me out.

You're absolutely,
exactly right, Rafiki.

I think maybe your brain's
even smarter than Timon's.

It's not my smarts
that tells me this.

See, everything
happens for a reason.

So you're saying this chunk
of the big, bluish, black thing

fell here for a reason?

Correct.

And what, pray tell, might that be,
oh very smart one with a blue behind?

It has fallen between you two as a
sign that you are no longer friends.

We're not?

Well, you can't seem to agree.

Right.

And you're not speaking.

Right.

Therefore, you are
no longer friends.

And you should not try to agree on
anything or work together or cooperate

in any shape or form.

Then... what should we do?

There is no longer any
we, only you and a-you.

Hey, wait a minute, rafreaky.

This doesn't settle what to do

about the chunk of the
big, bluish, black thing.

Why, of course it does.

Pumbaa, you should
put the chunk of big,

bluish, black thing
back up where it belongs

and, Timon, you should make
sure you have nothing to do with it.

There. Settled. Goodbye.

Alley oop!

Hmmph!

Alley oop!

Pumbaa, what are you doing?

You're never gonna get that
thing back up there that way.

All you have to do is... yeouch!

Oh, hello, Rafiki.

Rafiki, Rafiki, Rafiki!

What do you want?

You're not helping
Pumbaa, are you?

You're not having anything
to do with it, are you? Hmm?

Of course not!

I said I don't want to have anything
to do with that thing and I don't.

That is good because, remember,

you two are no longer
bestest, best friends. Right?

Right.

Just checking.

Did I mention that guy
really creeps me out?

Rafiki, schamiki!

Just because ol' blue behind
said we can't be friends,

doesn't mean it's true.

Besides, I have an idea how you
can get that chunk back up there

and I won't have
anything to with it.

Gee, Timon, maybe your brain
is even smarter than Rafiki's.

Of course it is.

Now, listen. The first
thing we have to do...

That is, you and I have to do
independently of each other,

is to get as close as we can
to the big, bluish, black thing.

How are we...

I mean, you and I
separately, independently

and all that, going to do that?

Simple. We'll climb really,
really high to the top of that!

Gee, Timon, I'm getting
awfully tired of carrying

this chunk of big,
bluish, black thing.

Then I'll carry it for a while.

But wouldn't that be helping me?

No. I'll carry the chunk
because I need the exercise.

It has nothing to
do with helping you.

Oh! Okay!

Now I'm getting tired.

Here, let me carry
the chunk for a while,

because I want
to take it all alone,

by myself, to the
top of the mountain

so I can put it back into the
bluish, black thing where it belongs.

Gee, I sure am glad I
have nothing to do with that.

Well, here we are...

Uh, I mean, you and I separately
and independently at the same time.

Here goes nothing.

Whoa! Wait, Pumbaa! You'll
just throw it off the mountain.

You need to send it up
there, not down there.

But how am I supposed to do...

Why don't you just relax
for a while? Take a load off.

It's been a long
climb up the mountain.

What are you gonna do?

Oh, I don't know.

Maybe I'll, uh, build something.

There! I'm all done
building something.

Gee, that something sure
looks like it would be useful

in getting the chunk back
into the big, bluish, black thing.

It sure would.

Maybe I should build one.

Why mess with building one,
Pumbaa, when you can buy one?

Buy one? But where could I
possibly buy one way up here?

Why not purchase mine?

Gee! How much is it?

Well, it just so happens
that for today only,

it's on sale for the special
low, low price of... nothing.

Well, I can definitely
afford nothing.

I'll take it.

Thanks, Timon. Thanks
for not helping me.

You're not welcome.

Costa costa costa!

Yay! We did it!

We sure did, pal!

Rafiki!

Rafiki, Rafiki, Rafiki.

Did I hear you two say "we?"

Yup!

But what we meant by we

was that Timon and I were totally
separately, individually and all that,

without helping each other.

Hmm. This is a definition
of "we" I am not familiar with.

It just goes to show you,
rafakey, you don't know everything.

Pumbaa here got that chunk of
big, bluish, black thing back up there

and I had nothing to do with it.

And we're still
bestest best friends.

Right, Pumbaa?

That's right.

Well, seems you two
have proven me wrong.

All that helping each other
wasn't helping each other after all.

Live and learn.

Live and learn.

You know, Timon, I think
our not helping each other

really was helping each other.

Yeah, you're right,
but don't let Rafiki know

or he'll whack us
with that stick again.

It sure is good to know nothing
will never, ever come between us.

It sure is, Pumbaa.

It sure is.
