[instrumental music]

He's close.

I can feel it.

Okay, men, stay with me,
and keep your eyes open.

[dramatic music]

[beast growling]

[music continues]

Huh!

[g*nf*re]

[screaming]

Did you see that?
Cover me.

A-ah!

[male #1]
'A-ah.'

[screaming]

[dramatic music]

Over there, sh**t it.

[g*nf*re]

[beast growling]

[dramatic music]

[beast growling]

[intense music]

[panting]

thud

[grunting]

[music continues]

[grunting continues]

[panting]

[g*n c*ck]

'Uh-oh!'

[dramatic music]

[g*nshots]

[beast growling]

[instrumental music]

[Jonny]
'Yee-haw.'

Whoa.

Nice move, Jonny.

Did you catch anything?

Yeah,
a mouthful of mud.

Looks like it will be dehydrated
goulash again tonight.

'Help me, please.'

Somebody help me.

[ambient music]

[male #2]
'Doctor Quest,
the carbon dating indicates'

'the lower levels of the temple
have been constructed'

'prior to 150 BC.'

Interesting.

The higher levels of the temple

were built almost
a millennium later.

What is that thing, Ben?

[Benton]
'It appears to be some kind
of giant sloth'

Or an earlier version
of the ancient goddess Rangda.

[Race]
'Ah, look at those teeth.'

I wouldn't want to have to pay
for braces on those choppers.

[Jonny]
'Dad? Race?'

We got company.

Ow-eww-blah.

Rehydrate goulash.

[Benton]
The most important thing,
Mr. Stramm

is to get you
to the nearest hospital.

That's some
pretty mean jungle, Mr. Stramm.

What were you
doing there, anyway?

I'm on a special mission
for an international charity.

A plane carrying a large
shipment of antibiotics

went down in that area.

And I volunteered
to retrieve it.

So, you went there
all by yourself?

Into that terrain?

I felt I could travel
faster alone.

I have to go
back there.

You're in no condition
for such a journey.

There's no time to lose.

That medicine is
badly needed in Hmong Village

Right here.

How'd you end up
in the river?

I've already told you I slipped
and fell into some rapid's

and was washed over the falls.

If you help me, I know
we can find that shipment.

Ben, can I talk to you
for a moment?

Okay, spit it out.
What's wrong?

Mitchell Stramm is as slippery
as a grease goose, Ben.

I think he's feeding
us a pack of lies.

On the other hand,
if he's telling the truth

innocent people could die.

True, now we just
have to watch our backs.

[dramatic music]

[engine rumbling]

[dramatic music]

Look out!

Ah!

[engine roaring]

'Shoulder your packs, people.'

The rest of the way is on foot.

Hold on to this, Ben.

[Race]
'Just in case.'

[Race]
'Hey, ponchita,
come here for a second.'

Go on, we'll catch up.

What is it, dad?

Rig us a satellite link
with Commander Bennett

in Washington DC.

I need to ask him
a little favor.

[thunder rumbling]

'Heck of a day
for a walk in the woods, huh?'

As the poet said, into each life
some rain must fall.

Yeah? Well, I'm afraid the poet
was all washed up if you ask me.

Come on, kids.
We gotta catch up.

[dramatic music]

'Ben.'

What's up, Race

Nothin' I can set a brand to.

But there.

[growling]

[screaming]

Quest, help me.

Pheww.

Stramm.

Help.

Hang on.

Well, not much good starting
a ropin' contest without a rope.

[dramatic music]

I got him, pull us up.

Dad, this is all pretty wacked.

We saw something
really weird back there.

I saw it, too.

[Benton]
'A little closer
than I would have liked.'

The way the beast
materialized out of the mist

and disappeared the same way

might suggest
that the legend of the Amok

is more than a legend.

Yeah? Something's definitely
running Amok around here.

The legend is the origin
of the word.

Several South-east
Asian cultures

speak of a mythical beast
that lives in the jungle

'and moves with the mist.'

Able to attack in several
places simultaneously.

[Benton]
'The Malay call
such a beast the Amok.'

'Insanely murderous
by reputation.'

'Our sighting this afternoon
is definitely intriguing.'

Dad, I got the transmission from
Commander Bennett in Washington.

The computer is decoding it now.

Wait, traced passport
ID number of Mitchell Stramm.

[Jessie]
'Issued two years prior.'

Photo on file
matches one James Compton.

Special forces operative,
listed as k*lled in action.

[Jesse]
'Cambodia 1975.'

Agency operative until 1989.

[beast growling]
Missing, presumed free agent.

Use extreme caution.

Stramm's a spy.

[Race]
'The worse kind, a hired g*n
to the highest bidder.'

My p*stol, it's gone.

[Race]
Where's Stramm?

[beast growling]

What was that?

Over there.

No, it's behind us.

When you cannot trust
your eyes and ears

you must hope your feet know
which way to run.

Everybody scatter!

[dramatic music]

[beast roaring]

- Dad?
- Shh, ponchita.

Stay here,
I gotta get the others.

Dad, be careful.

[beast growling]

Where is everybody?

Dad? Race?

[Jonny]
'Oh, man.
Am I glad to see you, Jess?'

Haven't I taught
you two anything?

Never come out in the open until
you are sure it's all clear.

I don't see
any sign of dad or Hadji.

[dramatic music]

Tracks end right here.

Piece of cake.

I am with you, Jess.

Uh-uh,
you two stay put. I'll go.

No way, Race.

You're the only one
strong enough

to pull us up
in case something goes wrong.

[dramatic music]

That's enough rope, dad.

Just one more foothold.

Uh, got it.

[beast roaring]

Dad?

Jess, what's going on?

Something's happened
to my dad.

We gotta get back
up to the top.

[screaming]

Thanks, Jess.

Now, how are we
gonna climb that?

One handhold at a time.

You're my lifeline.

You got it, Jess.

[dramatic music]

Uh!

Jessie!

[screaming]

splash

Jonny! Help!

[grunting]

Jess.

I can't hold you.

[screaming]

Jonny!

Right behind you.

[dramatic music]

[coughing]

[screaming]

[screaming]

What took you so long?

Where are we?

Wherever it is, it's beau--

[beast roaring]

[Jessie]
Let go, you furball.

Let go.

[grunting]

Hey, look.
People.

[Jonny]
'Help! Help us!'

[Jessie]
'Jonny. Can't these people
see the Amok?'

It's like they don't even care.

Can you get the wild man
of Borneo off my back here?

[Jessie]
Who are those guys?

'I'm not sure I want to know.'

[screaming]

Good heavens, Swain.
Put that girl down.

She's on our side.

Dad! Dr. Quest!

What's going on?

Oh, sorry, miss.

What's this all about, pop?

Jonny, Jessie,
meet Orde Wingate II.

We're dreadfully sorry
about the rough treatment.

You see, when my father
found this valley

'during the Second World w*r--'

Your father?

Major-General Orde Wingate?

The Guerilla Leader?

Quite right, my boy.

But General Wingate was k*lled
in a plane crash in 1944.

Actually, his death was
a bit of a charade.

A devilishly clever one at that.

As are the Amoks.

Yes, indeed.

When the allies were winning
the w*r in the Pacific

father decided to lay low.

He'd seen quite enough k*lling.

He returned to this valley,
living out his days

in peace and tranquility.

[g*nshots]

Front and center, everybody!

- Stramm.
- Huh!

Ah, don't be afraid, sonny.
I won't let him hurt you.

Ayee!

[g*nsh*t]

You. Hands where I can see them.

Round up all the villagers.
Hold them in the long house.

Well...isn't this cute?

Halloween in the
golden triangle.

'I kinda owe you, Quest.'

Seen how you and your brats
with a perfect bait

'to pull the Amok
out of hiding.'

My employers will pay me
handsomely for each head

that I bring back,
whether or not

it's attached to a body.

And just who
is your employer, Stramm?

Let's just say
I represent a private party

who was losing
valuable shipments.

Shipments?

What you're trying
to say is

that we put the old wooden clog
in your filthy drug trade.

Shut up! And move
to the long house.

[dramatic music]

[panting]

Ha! Man, you scared me.

Well, at least
two of us got away.

Come on, Swain.
We got work to do.

[instrumental music]

Whoa! Looks like you're just
way too quick for me, Rambo.

[dramatic music]

[roaring]

Yes! One down,
five to go.

[dramatic music]

Yoo-hoo! Uh, you guys just
get paid to stand around?

'Huh, must be nice.'

Huh!

[growling]

[screaming]

Stay here. sh**t anyone
who moves.

Going some place, kid?

[growling]

[g*nshots]

Ah!

Can't you be
a little more sporting

with someone your own size?

[dramatic music]

You gotta be kidding me.

What is this?
Geriatric Aikido?

Oh.

'I'll give you a choice,
old bean.'

Me, or the jungle?
Either way, you shan't make it.

Come on, lad.
On your feet.

Where's Stramm?

He let him get away.

Don't be impertinent.

For your information,
it's been many years

since I've harmed a soul.

No! No!

[growling]

'Stay back!
Stay back!'

[screaming]

However, that does not mean
I've lost my sense of justice.

Allow me to introduce my father,
Major-General Orde Wingate.

Thank you, sir.
For saving my life.

What's that about your wife?

No, father. He said thank you
for saving his life.

Oh-h*. Ha ha ha.

All in a night's work,
young man.

[instrumental music]

Well, general, just change
the oil every few thousand miles

and you may run
for another 92 years.

Now, what's that you say?

Change the..

Oh, ha ha ha!

Jolly good, yes. Yes, that's
a good one, that. Ha ha.

Any sign of Stramm
and his mercenaries?

That's the darndest part
of it, Benton.

All we found was their clothes
and their weapons.

Let's just say they vanished
into the mist, shall we?

Goodbye, sir. It was
a real honor to have met you.

Oh, just one more thing.

I'd really like to thank
the villager in the monkey suit

that helped me take out
Stramm's men last night.

Whatever do you mean, Jonny?

All our people were being held
in the long house.

- Sergeant Swain.
- Sir!

Escort our guests
as far as their boats.

That's alright, general.
We can find our own way back.

[roaring]

'But then again..'

[instrumental music]

[female automated voice]
'Welcome to Quest World.'

'Please specify desired data.'

'I'm sorry, but "Cool stuff"
does not compute.'

'Access denied.'

'Acknowledged. Detailing the
Quest World database.'

'Quest World bodies
are systemically vectorised'

'and come equipped
with a variety of heads.'

'Detailing Quest World
vehicles.'

[instrumental music]

'Detailing Quest World
weaponry.'

'Three, two, one.'

boom

'Acknowledged. Creating
high speed index.'

'Thank you for accessing
