01x03 - Origin of the Hulk

Post by bunniefuu »

Hi, I'm Stan Lee. We all

know the Hulk is the strongest and the

strangest creature on Earth. Now

hang on to your hats, heroes, because

here's where we learn how he got that

way. This is the lonely desert,

the mysterious desert, where all is

silent, too silent, with a

scent of danger in the air.

Seven o'clock sharp. I'm on the

decorating committee, so I'll be there

ahead of you. Don't keep me waiting. I'll

do my best, Sugar Plum. But it's up to

daddy-o here to let me off in time to fix

my wheels. Let you off?You mean you're

working now?Isn't that funny?To me, a

totally impartial observer, it looks like

you're just hanging around, making

goo-goo eyes at my daughter, whose name

is Rita, not Sugar Plum. Right,

Pops. And my name is Rio, not Pops,

Daddy-O, or the Big Mustache. I--

What the-- No, don't go out.

I'll get her, Pops.

What is-- Don't ask me. It's right out of

Star Wars.

All clear. The time is

T minus 20 minutes. I'm counting.

Suppose you made a mistake, Banner.

Suppose something was wrong. I haven't

made a mistake, Dr. Carlston, so

nothing's going to go wrong. How can you

be sure?No one has ever harnessed gamma

rays before. You must let me check your

formula. The formula stays secret and

safely hidden away until we successfully

complete today's test. A stubborn

man is just asking for trouble, Banner.

Oh, Dr. Carlson!

You've got a contact on your scope.

Major Chalbot!

It's coming in low, very low, trying to

sneak under our radar. Good work,

soldier. Thanks, Miss

Ross.

Attention, beta squad. Scramble, code

red. Repeat,

scramble, code red.

This is command central. Hold the

countdown. What's out there?

We'll know in a moment, Banner.

Look, there! Yes, I see it. What is it,

Beta Leader?What do you see?A

UFO. A genuine, unidentified

flying object. Object nothing. That's a

spaceship, buddy boy. A spaceship like

right out of the movies. Pursue, Beta

Leader, pursue.

Bio scan indicates no life aboard the

UFOs. Repeat, no life on the UFO.

What do you think, Bruce?A robot ship?

Probably. sh**t it down, Beta leader.

Engage and destroy.

Beta leader to base. Direct hits with all

missiles. UFO out of

control.

Mission accomplished. Scrub one UFO.

Roger, Beta Leader. Well done. See

anything else?Negative, not a thing.

We're heading home.

Time is T-minus 15 minutes and holding...

Holding?Holding?Banner!

Yes, General Ross. Dr. Carlston here

says you ordered the delay in the

countdown. That's the third holdup today.

You turning chicken. Daddy, that's

outrageous. As a member of the scientific

team responsible for this test, I can

vouch for every one of Dr. Banner's

safety precautions. Ah, easy, darling.

Just making sure my future son-in-law

isn't too overcautious.

Just because he's not in the army doesn't

mean he's a wimp. Bruce is one of the top

physicists in the country. And today he's

in charge of a very dangerous test. And

I love him. Men usually speak for

themselves, Banner. Oh, I think she did

just fine. Dad?

Yes, well, let's get on with it.

Countdown resumed. Time to gamma

detonation, T-minus 15 minutes and

counting.

This has gotta do it.

Woo-hoo! All right! Ah, I

don't have time to go around the army

base. There's an opening in the fence. I

can cut across the old m*ssile range and

save 20 minutes.

Woo-hoo! This is my lucky night.

T minus three minutes and counting.

I'd feel more secure if

you'd let me see your formula, Dr.

Banner. It's safely hidden away at my

place and it stays secret until...

Oh, no. Ah,

for now what?He stopped.

T-minus two minutes and counting.

Hold the countdown.

The formula's safely hidden away at my

place, at my place, at my place.

Continue the countdown.

T minus one minute and counting.

Hop in here, kid. T-minus 30 seconds,

Bruce?Look, mister, I know I

shouldn't be here, but be cool. I'll have

this thing fixed in a jiffy. Ten,

nine, eight... You

don't understand, son. You're holding up

a...

The ditch! Three, two,

one.

Later, at the base hospital, just a few

minutes before the most incredible

transformation of all time is about to

take place. What?Where?

Who are you?I'm the guy whose life you

saved, Doc. You pushed me into that

ditch, and then you fell on top of me and

shielded me from the blast. Oh, uh,

the kid with the truck. Name's Rick. Rick

Jones. They told me who you are, Doc.

I'm sorry I screwed up your test. You

didn't, Rick. You didn't set off the

gamma device knowing I was right under

it. Is there any word on

Dr. Banner's condition?I mean,

he won't be leaving the hospital tonight,

will he?No chance of that, Dr. Carlston.

I wonder why we're in such a tight

security room. No windows, no

phone, door bolted. How

are you feeling, okay?Me?I'm fine.

You?Strange. Different.

First thing is to get some answers, and

that means getting out of here. Hey, hey,

you people out there, open up. But when

will I be able to see Doctor Banner? Is he

all right?I'm his fiancee. Can't you tell

me anything?43 calling

#1 over. This is Number

One. Proceed with your report, 4-3,

over. Banner has hidden the formula in

his house on the base. I arrange for him

to be held for observation. I am leaving

to search Banner's house immediately.

Over. Excellent, 4-3. This is

Number One, out.

What's the matter with them out there?

What is this, a jail? Why don't they come?

I don't know, Doc, but take it easy.

You're getting yourself all worked up.

But I've got to tell General Ross about

Dr. Carlston. What's going on?Let me out!

Let me out! Ohh

Help! Help Help me, Rick!

Doc, what's going on?Bruce Banner's

rage and his frustration finally

trigger the powerful gamma rays in his

body, causing the world's most

fantastic transformation as the

Incredible Hulk is torn.

Doc! You're not Doc, are you?

That's what I said! You're not Doc!

You're bigger and stronger.

Much stronger.

You're scared?Well, nobody's gonna miss

with you. Trust me, I know what I'm

talking about.

Oh, man, is nobody gonna miss with you.

Thank you, Doctor. I'll see Bruce right

away. Thank you.

This is post three. Reinforcements, fast.

Don't ask, just send.

What?What are you?

Don't, Don't go.

No! Oh, and the mackerel! It's It's a

monster! He's got the general's daughter!

Come on, guys, charge! Ohh

Hey, have you guys seen a great big hulk?

Yeah, you've seen them all right.

Seconds later, raging panic fills theair.

I'll bet I know where he's going.

Spurred on by some dim, clouded

memory, the Hulk heads for places Bruce

Banner knows best.

Where did he hide it?Where?Ah

Four, three, calling number one. I have

the formula. Repeat, I have!

He's here, all right. Ohh

What the?

No! No No, no, don't

hurt him! Don't hurt him! What him?The

guy's a robot!

oh

What's the matter, doc?Oh...

Who... Who are you?Where am

I?Easy, miss. You're in Dr. Banner's

house. Or what's left of it. You see, I

was in the hospital-- As the mystified

Betty Ross listens to Rick's explanation,

she doesn't notice the startling

transformation which again takes place

just a few feet away as the

Incredible Hulk slowly

begins to change and

change until...

Look, there's Bruce on the floor over

there. He's breathing normally. What are

these papers?The Gamma Formula. That's

what Carlston the robot was after.

I'll keep it for now. Don't say a word

about this to anyone.

And what's this all about, mister?

This house is government issue. Look what

you've done to it. And you mean to tell

me this is the person I called Dr.

Carlston?This This tin man?That's

exactly what it is. I'm not talking to

any punk kid. I want answers from you,

mister, about the foul up on your gamma

ray test, about this, about some

hulking green monster who destroyed the

hospital and kidnapped Ms. Ross. About a

lot of things. I understand your

confusion, Major. Frankly, I'm a little

foggy about those things myself. Well,

you better get unfoggy real quick,

Mister. You're under military arrest.

Take him in. Major Talbot. I'll have my

father get him out in an hour and put you

in for exceeding your authority. Easy,

Betty. It's OK. Till I can sort things

out. Maybe a jail cell is the best thing

in the world for me. As long as you're

all right. Don't worry about your lady,

Doc. I'll look after her. I owe you. You

look after yourself, punk. I'm giving you

five minutes to get off this post.

Let me get the formula, and then we'll

drive to my father's and put an end to

this n--

What in the-- Look out!

The Gamma Formula, where is it?I

don't know what you're... The Gamma

Formula, where is it?The Gamma

Formula. The Gamma Formula. The

Gamma Formula. Your record's stuck,

man. Rick! All

right, stop, stop I'll

get it. Here, this is

what you want. No!

Stop! Put

me

down! Stop! Miss Ross.

The Crab Machine. Go for help, Rick Babe.

Go, go, go!

I've always had my doubts about you,

Banner, and now I'm going to prove them.

What is that?

You! You're under-- Major! It's Miss

Ross! She's been taken! What?

All units converge on Sector 12

immediately. surround the machine. The

minutes escape.

Major, let me out. I've got to helpEddie.

See how easy it is, my dear.

Only because you're holding me. If the

army attacked, you'd be finished. I

really don't think so.

Do you, my dear...

Meech, please! I know I can help! Let me

out!

That's impossible! Our rockets made a

direct hit! Didn't hurt that thing at all!

got to get out! Let me out! Let me out!

No!

I think I've demonstrated my power.

Now we're leaving.

Must get out!

Must get Betty back!

Mortar in an airstrike and... what in the

blazes?A monster. A great

green hulking monster almost attacked me.

ohh What is that thing?

I take you!

No, not on my stop car!

I'm safe now!

This is number one activating robot

destruct mechanism. Goodbye,

Earth. We will return.

Good. Fire!

If I ever see you again, you monstrous

Hulk,I'll get you, you

you Hulk!

Do yourself a favor, Rick. Stay as far

from me as you can, for your own safety.

Can't do that, Buck. It's my fault that

this happened. Until I can find a cure

for this this monster inside of me,

nobody near me can be safe, and nobody

must knowThat the monster is me. I

know. And that's got to be some kind of

help, huhI only hope you know what you're

in for, Rick.
