01x08 - The Fantastic Four Meet Doctor Doom

Post by bunniefuu »

It was the world's strangest accident

while testing a new rocket ship.

Our heroes were bombarded by mysterious

cosmic rays from outer space.

Though they crash landed safely, the

strange and powerful rays had changed

each one of them. Transforming their

leader Reed Richards into the plastic

skinned Mr. Fantastic,

Sue Richards into the Now You See Her,

Now You Don't Invisible Girl,

and Ben Grimm into a mighty muscled

powerhouse called The Thing.

Now, together with Kirby the Robot, the

newest member of the group, they have

become the greatest team of superheroes

the world has ever known.

The New Fantastic Four!

Behold, the castle royal of the

far-off forbidden kingdom of Latveria.

Herein dwells the most powerful, the most

mysterious monarch in all the world.

Guarded by a fighting force that never

sleeps, that never relaxes its vigilance.

For none is as feared, none has as

many foes as Doctor Doom.

The awesome armor-clad Lord of

Latveria. The

Fantastic Four. The time

has come for them to meet their master.

Little do they dream that soon they

shall be serving Doctor

Doom. And after them...

the world itself shall lie helpless at my

feet. Now, all that

remains is to meet my victims

face to face.

A short time later, at the fabled

headquarters of the world-famous

Fantastic Four... Are you enjoying your

new comic book, Ben?Yeah, Suzie's got a

lot of action, but there's something

naughty about this silver surfer, you

know?I mean, who ever heard of a guy with

silver skin? What's so strange about that,

Benjamin?After all, you've got orange

skin. Oh, ask you, Tinhead.

Anyway, have you ever heard orange is

beautiful?Herbie was merely giving you an

example of logic, Ben. Yeah, who needs

examples?I know all the arithmetic I

need. Now let's see here. Where was I?

Herbie, what is it?Danger! Danger! I

sense danger! Big deal! Stretcho's

probably beating your chest again! No,

my circuits are throbbing. My sensor's

tingling. There is a real and deadly

danger. Coming closer,

closer, closer.

Hey, the building is secured.

And now... let the

fateful trap be strong.

My hand! What What

happened?Hey,

what gives?The blasted book's alive!

What's happening here?

Electricity. Reed, what is it?I think I

know, Sue. Watch. It's electrified.

Something's happened to our room.

Anything we touch might electrocute us.

Very clever of you, little kids. You

catch on quickly. A

hologram image forming before our

eyes. It's Doctor Doom.

Big deal. I was expecting a tooth

fairy. I have electrified your

entire headquarters. You are my

prisoners. Reed, what can we do?

Easy, Sue. Let's see what he wants. I'm

searching my memory tip, but I can find

no Doctor Doom. Who is he?What is he?

Where does he come from?Well, I don't

know where he comes from, but he'll be

going bye-bye when I get my mitts on him.

Easy, Ben. You can't hit a

three-dimensional image. That is very

perceptive of you, Richards. I know who

Dr. Doom is. Then tell us, Reed. He

happens to be the most dangerous man in

the world. I hoped we'd never hear from

him, hoped we'd never have to battle him.

But now the worst has happened, and I

must tell you what we're up against. I

first met Victor Von Doom in college

years ago. He and I were classmates for a

brief period, but we soon separated,

for he wanted to be alone. alone to

pursue his forbidden experiments. One

day, while conducting a secret

experiment. Later, when he

recovered from his injuries, he was

expelled from the college. Instead of

having learned his lesson, Doom was

bitter, angry, vengeful.

You'll be sorry, all of you. I'll

make you live to regret this. He

traveled the world, seeking a cure for

his d*sfigured face. First, to renowned

specialists, where he heard the same

medical opinion in many languages.

I'm sorry, Sir, there is nothing we can

do for you. Forsaking the civilized

world, he traveled through remote

villages where strangers are seldom seen.

He continued his search, never showing

his face unless threatened by bandits who

prey on travelers who foolishly

wander alone through their domain. One

look at his featureless face, one

look was enough to ensure his safety.

As years passed, he became even more

bitter and angry, burning with

vengeance against the world.

Finally, in an ancient monastery in

far-off Tibet, amidst hidden

scrolls and containing long-lost secrets

of magic in the occult, he found what

he'd been seeking. Then,Clothed in a suit

of invulnerable armor and possessing the

world's greatest secrets of science and

magic, he returned to his homeland

to become the absolute monarch of the

kingdom of Latveria. And there he has

remained, scheming, dreaming,

planning, plotting his mad

campaign to conquer the entire

world. An admirable summation,

Richards. And now... The time

has come for the Fantastic Four to return

with me to Latveria. Us go

scootin' off with you?Hey, man, you're

out of your gory. We'll never let you

lure us into your kingdom. Susan is

right. My sensors indicate that Latveria

is the most dangerous place on Earth for

us. So back up your marbles, Turkey, and

trot right back where you came from. It

wouldn't be fair for me to try to change

your minds, but I think you're wrong. I

think we should accompany Dr. Doomdalat

Barrier. If there's danger, it must be

met and overcome. Therefore, I'll go

myself.

I can't believe it! He's really leaving?

And without us!

All right, all right Don't make a big

deal about it. You didn't think we'd let

you go alone, did ya?

Look! Down below us! That barrier at

last!

Hey! What are all them nutty poles

sticking up in the air? They must have a

carpet. That's what can't be. We'll soon

find out. Doom has a reason for

everything.

Well, at least we know now what them

poles were for. Listen, I hear heavy

footsteps. No wonder they sounded heavy.

Look at the size of that yo-yo! Oh,

boy, he's a real little bundle of

personality, ain't he?Robots don't have

personality, then. I heard that, Reed.

Oh, he didn't mean you, Herbie.

So, we stand face to face at

last. Welcome to the sanctum of

Doctor Doom. Now I shall

tell you why I have brought you here.

The moment has arrived when I shall rule

the entire world. But to carry

out my plan, I need still

more wealth. I need money

for more arms, more magic potions,

more giant robots.

In short, I need the

fabulous treasure of the legendary

pirate, Blackbeard.

And you will get that treasure for me.

Hey, that's a relief! I was

scared he'd ask something hard! It's

impossible, Doom. That treasure's been

lost for centuries. Yeah, and there ain't

no way we can travel back in time.

That's where you're wrong. I have

invented a time machine. He must be

mad. No, if anyone can do it.

I can send you back to the time of

Blackbeard. Yeah?Well, tell us

this, wise guy. Why don't you just

go yourself?Because I must remain

here. Only Dr. Doom can operate

the machine. You're asking too much of

us. We ain't gonna help you with no

crap-pot schemes. They're right, Doom.

I wanted to learn your plan, and now I

found out. Did you seriously think we'd

help you gain enough wealth to be able to

conquer the world?Of course not, Richard.

I expected this to be your answer,

which is why I prepared for this little

eventuality.

I'm falling! Susie! A trapdoor.

He captured me! It's Battleship

Steel. We'll never open it. Naturally,

Richards, that is the idea.

I warn you, Doom. You've gone too far.

Yeah, and if anything happens to Susie...

He will be safe. You have my

word. All you need to do is go back in

time and get me the treasure chest. of

Blackbeard the Pirate. It looks as though

we haven't any choice. What do you mean

no choice?I say we clobber the

bum! A pity you are so

hostile, Mr. Grimm. Personally,

I have wh*re acts of violence.

Well, what is your answer? We'll do it,

Doom. Get your machine. Send the three of

us back through time. Hey, Stretcho, have

you gone bananas? How do you know soon's

gonna be safe? And how do you know we can

trust this bum?Despite all his faults,

Ben, Dr. Doom does not lie. But how can

you help him with his scheme to conquer

the world?I have a plan also. We'll

find a way to foil him. Enough talk.

Stand where you are.

Hey, look! That nutty machine of his

really worked! We're on a Caribbean

island in the time of Blackbeard the

pirate. Why is everyone staring at us?

Our appearance. Oh, I should have

realized. We must look like freaks to

them. Nevertheless, let's get out of here

while we can.

I'll see you ashore, lads. There's booty

enough for all. A few voyages such as

we've just had, and we'll be rich, rich

beyond your wildest dreams.

fools. Let them squabble over a few

worthless baubles while I have the true

treasure worth a king's ransom in my

cabin.

We've got to find some suitable clothes.

Hey, me and Herbie might be a little hard

to fit. Look, that's what we need.

Ben, you and Herbie attract the pirate's

attention. Eh, that shouldn't be hard to

do. Aye,

kitties, can we play, too?

Careful, Ben. Don't kick sand in their

faces. Aw, now

wasn't that careless of me?Get

them! Whatever they are! It worked!

Here they come in hot pursuit. Perfect.

Now it's my turn.

Ben, Pervy, come back quickly.

You got the clothes?I hope there ain't no

charge for alterations. Now, let's

see now. I hope I can find something to

match the color of my twinkly little

eyes. Well, I'll settle for anything that

doesn't tickle my transistors.

Well, it's not the latest fashion, but it

ought to do the trick. Hey, this is

great! Well, it's better than Halloween.

I'm not certain these clothes reflect the

real me. Do you see what

I see?Aye, just what we're

looking for. We need three more

crew members for our pirate ship.

And we've just found them. Let's get

'em! Perhaps we don't want

to be found. Yeah, I'm kind of the

delicate type, you know?I mean, I might

get all seasick out there. Look!

This one flies! Ben,

I just got an idea. Let's join their

crew. Why is it going back on me?I

thought I heard you say it. I did. Let

them capture us. I'll explain later. I

can't wait. It should be some

explanation. Shiver me timbers.

Look at that. We surrender. We'll join

your pirate crew. But no sooner are the

Fantastic Four taken aboard and the ship

set sail. I don't get it, Stretcho. We

was clobbered, so why did we surrender?

For once, I am in complete agreement with

Benjamin. I do not compute your

reasoning, Reed. I'm surprised at both of

you. Then, why are we here? What are we

looking for?Blackbeard's treasure. What

else?Right. And Herbie.

Where would your sensors say would be the

best place to look for it?Well, uh, on a,

uh.. a pirate ship.

Right. I'm embarrassed. I think my

batteries need a recharge. Yeah, mine

too. That is, if I had any. Now, when we

get on board, let's spread out and see

what we can find. Gotcha. Roger!

Kirby, you take the cabins.

Then, go on up forward. I'll check below

deck. Gotcha, Stretcho.

Hey, you there, ugly one.

Lend a hand with that cannon. Hey,

who you callin' ugly?Yo,

follow my orders, or I'll toy you in the

brig. Ha ha ha, you little creep.

I'll... I'll.. Uh..

I'll lend a hand, uh, sir. I

can't afford any fun and games right now,

at least until we find that treasure.

Stand aside, mates. Old Ben is here.

Where do you want this peashooter to go,

sir?Oh, uh, in Gunport

Oh, not at all. And these

cannonballs here, where would you like

them moved to, sir?Oh,

uh, any place, sir. Wherever you'd like,

any place at all.

Nothing below deck, just the usual ship

stores. I hope Ben and Herbie are having

more luck than I am. In this chest is the

most fabulous treasure the world has ever

known. It's mine.

All mine!

Begone! I left orders not to be

disturbed. Here are the refreshments you

ordered, Captain. I didn't order

anything. And who are you?I'm your new

cabin boy, sir. Herbie's the name. I'll

just set your vittles on this chest, sir.

Wait. Oh, how

clumsy of me. I'll clean it up at once,

sir. Stay away from that chest. Oh,

dear. I'm afraid I got all of your glass

marbles wet. Away, I say.

Begone. Yes, sir. Right away, sir.

I'm sorry, I-- Go!

Breathe. Spin. It's beautiful. Fantastic.

Hey, hey, heyHey, slow down, Tinhead.

What are you talking about? The treasure.

The-the treasure. I found it in the

captain's corner. It-it... Well,

you won't believe it. Uh, time to go

into action, huh, stretcho?Right.

Let's go.

Move it, Swabbies. We're taking over now.

No more! No more! We give up!

Aye, hail almighty Blackbeard!

For our new leader, Blackbeard, the

greatest of all pirates! Aye,

Blackbeard! It's incredible. We're

searching for Blackbeard's treasure, and

due to a paradox of time... Ben

himself is really Blackbeard. You mean,

I started the whole blame legend just by

going back in time?Well, then

Blackbeard's treasure chest is really...

mine! That's right. We found it. But we

can't give all this wealth to Doctor

Doom. Think of the harm he would do with

it. We won't give it to him. But you

promised. I know. And like Doctor

Doom, I'd never lie either. But I've got

a little surprise for him, and you.

Now, we'll return the treasure to its

rightful owners. Captain, the ship is

yours once again. The pirates have

decided to give themselves up.

Now, there's one thing left to do. Now

what, big brain?Now, my irascible

friend, we return to the island.

Hey, Amy! How's about helping me with

this thing?I am, Benjamin. I'm watching.

Quickly, every minute counts. We've got

to return to the exact spot where the

time machine brought us. They should have

found the treasure by now.

There they are, and they have the

treasure chest.

Welcome. I see you have

succeeded. You knew we would. There's a

treasure chest. We fulfilled our part of

the bargain. And I shall fulfill mine.

Release the girl.

Three! I knew the three of you wouldn't

fail me. Stones?

Pebbles?Rocks?I've

been tricked. You lied to me.

No. I promised to bring you Blackbeard's

treasure chest. I never promised what

would be inside. Oh, you're clever,

Richards, but so am I.

I guaranteed that Sue Storm would be

safe, but I never promised safety to the

three of you. And now

you will get your reward.

The giant robot.

What will happen to them?No matter Sue

Storm, you shall be safe. Ben,

get back. Break away, old friend. He's

too powerful for you. Perhaps I can

lasso him. Get him off balance. No.

He's too strong for me,

too. I'll use my sensors to probe for

weak spots. He must have some weaknesses.

Hey! Nobody swats my little tin-headed

pal like that! You okay, little buddy?

The only thing hurt is my pride.

Well, big brain, what do we

do now?Just keep the robot busy.

Remember, the fourth member of our team

still can help us. That's right. We've

forgotten the power of Sue.

He's forgotten about me. I'll just turn

invisible. The

girl. She's vanished!

I'll find the laser light. Not before I

can short-circuit your robot control.

Hey, look! Something's happened to the

robot! It was Sue. I knew she

wouldn't fail us. Somehow, I feel like

I've lost a distant relative. Okay, Ben.

Now it's up to you. Let's settle

with Dr. Doom. There he is!

Careful!He's tricky. He won't

get away from me! I would not sully

my hands on you.

I don't know who that guy's sully is,

but I'm going after him! No, Ben, it's

over. Remember, he's the monarch here.

If he chooses not to fight, so be it.

Perhaps we're lucky. He has an armor at

his command. That's right! We could never

fight them all! Ohh It might have been

fun trying. Now where are we going?Where

we belong, Ben... Then home away! Then

home! Shall

we go after them, sire?No!

They have earned their freedom. They won

it fairly, as I would have done.

But this was only the first round. There

will be other encounters, other battles,

and the result shall be different.

Sooner or later, the ultimate

triumph shall belong to...

Doctor Doom. Hey, you know

something, g*ng?That Doc Doom ain't

really all bad. What do you mean, Ben?

Well, on a god of him, I had me a real

good time, you know?I mean, between you

and me, I kind of like being Blackbeard.

Well, maybe if we're lucky, he'll

attack us once more and send you back in

time again, Benjamin.

Very funny, tin head. Very, very

funny.
