- When I ordered our Thanksgiving turkey the other day,

the butcher said that his delivery guy was off sick.

He needs someone to deliver turkeys tomorrow.

But promise you're not gonna barbecue the turkey this year.

- Hey, Thanksgiving dinner's my thing, Griff.

I like to try something new every now and then.

- Yeah, but this year,

(flames roaring)

(horses whinnying)

(intense music)

(crickets chirping) (suspenseful music)

(person knocks)

- You look awful, what happened?

- I got into a fight with my mother.

A real bad one this time.

I told her, I said I'm not leaving High River, right?

And she goes ballistic, of course.

So I walked out, hopped on Sinbad,

I just went riding into the hills, you know?

I was just riding.

I don't know how long I was, I was just going.

I come back and...

The stables were on fire.

All right, I'm talking they were on fire,

total write off, here.

- [Caitlin] What happened, how did it start?

- I don't know, it was probably an accident

but they're gonna blame me.

- Come on, why would they blame you?

- Come on, you know why.

Just like what happened the last time.

- Will, that was a long time ago.

You're a different person now.

- Yeah.

- Look, are the horses okay?

- I don't know!

I wasn't gonna stick around long enough to ask.

I don't know what I'm gonna do now.

I mean, I can't go home.

- Come on, you have no reason to hide out.

I mean, you didn't do anything wrong.

(Will sighs)

- [Brett] All right, so what do you think

we're gonna make for this gig?

- Well, the day before Thanksgiving,

everyone's feeling generous.

If we get a lot of tips, two, 300 bucks at least.

- Not a bad day's work.

Even if it does start at six a.m..

- Yeah.

Come on, we gotta load up.

- Look, how do we know where to deliver them?

- Oh, the number on the box

corresponds to a number on the list,

which has the name and address.

- Simple.

- Yeah, got 93 turkeys to deliver today.

Let's go.

- They think it was arson.

- Arson?

Well, that's hard to believe.

- That's what the fire marshal thinks.

- Oh, do you have any leads?

- So far, just one.

It seems that Will Findlay

was suspected of burning down a stable

at the last place his mother worked at.

Local cops' theory was that he fought with his mother,

got angry, and then started the fire to get back at her.

(eerie music)

Sara Findlay's outside.

- I didn't mean to alarm anyone.

- I was about to call you.

I need you to bring Will in for questioning.

- He doesn't know anything about the fire.

He wasn't there.

- I still need to talk to him.

- Why?

- Look, I can understand why you wanna protect him, Sara,

but somebody destroyed a stable.

- You've both convicted him already, I see.

- No, he's a suspect, that's all.

- Surely not the only one.

Aspiration is in financial trouble.

The insurance on the stable-

- So you think that maybe the owners

torched their own place to pay their bills?

- Maybe.

- I'll be talking with them,

but I also need to talk to Will.

Given his history- - History!

Did the police back east tell you

there were no charges laid because there was no evidence?

- If Will can tell me where he was last night,

all of this goes away.

Why don't we go back to your place

and clear things up right now?

- No.

- You don't know where he is, do you?

(somber music)

You'd better come inside, tell us the whole story.

- It's arson, they're looking for you.

- I gotta get out of here.

- Where are you gonna go?

- I don't know.

- Well, you better hurry before they find you.

- You think I'm innocent, right?

- We don't have time for this.

(Caitlin sighs)

- You know where Will is, don't you?

- Well if I did, I wouldn't tell you.

- Don't you see he's destroying his life?

- Maybe I haven't been a perfect mother,

but I didn't make him set this fire or the last one.

I'm only trying to protect him.

I made sure he wouldn't have a criminal record before,

and that's all I want to do now.

(somber music) (birds chirping)

- So how many have we delivered so far?

- 19.

But, who's countin'?

- I delivered two on Garfield Street.

- If we weren't pooling the tips, I bet you'd do it.

- Are you calling me greedy?

- Yeah, greedy and lazy.

- Oh man.

That's gross.

(Brett groaning)

(Brett retching)

The cow innards were supposed to go to the cat food factory.

Somehow, they got mixed up with the turkeys by mistake.

- Only one.

- Only one, but right now we have a bigger problem.

You know those two deliveries you made on Garfield Street?

Well, the lady from Number 43 called

to ask where her turkey was.

- I think, maybe I delivered it to number 34.

Nobody was there, so I just left it on the porch.

- Yeah, well now we have to go back to Garfield,

as well as the house that almost-

- Don't.

Don't say it, please.

- Well, our other deliveries are all the way across town,

so I guess we'll deal with them later.

Come on.

(wonky music)

You're not gonna hurl again, are you?

(Brett sighs)

(hooves clopping)

- [Caitlin] I thought you said it was an accident.

Why did you lie to me?

- [Will] I didn't.

Why are you saying this?

There's no proof I did anything.

- Just like last time?

- Yes, no!

Caitlin, I didn't do it this time.

- But, I mean, look at you.

You're covered in soot.

You look like you've been in a fire.

- You promised me you were going to change.

- Because all you care about is hurting your mother.

(somber music)

- The thing is, the High River Butcher

had a draw for a free turkey, and guess who won?

- But, I didn't enter it.

I didn't even know there was such a thing.

- He picked the names from the phone book.

- Oh, oh I've never been so lucky.

So, why did you boys come back then?

- To see what else you needed

for the best darn Thanksgiving dinner ever.

Do you like stuffing?

- Can't have a turkey without stuffing.

- And how about sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie?

Brett, are you getting all this down?

We're gonna go shopping for Miss?

- Carlisle.

(birds chirping)

- We haven't seen a single ranch, or a house,

or a car, or another human being.

I told you, there's no proof.

- But I mean, we aren't even done yet, right?

I mean, we haven't gone the whole way yet.

- I went from here to the Sundridge Hills.

You know the route.

I'm taking Sinbad back to the ranch.

- What, no you can't leave yet.

- Jim's probably got the whole county looking for me.

He finds you with me, you're gonna have some big problems.

- But I don't care about that!

(emotional music)

- What you said about me wanting to hurt my mother,

that used to be true.

I used to be so angry with her, you know,

I just couldn't think anything else.

You helped me with that.

You see who I really am.

Caitlin, you're the most together person I know,

and you have to stay that way.

- No I'm not.

God, I mean, look at me.

No, I'm afraid that if I ever love anyone

that they're just gonna let me down, and take off.

- Caitlin, what I need from you

is to know that you believe in me.

- Do you realize we spent most of what we made on these?

- Well, we do have one left.

(gentle guitar music)

(hooves clopping)

What's the matter?

- When I was riding by here last night,

I saw a guy get a speeding ticket down there.

- Did he see you?

- No, it was too dark.

- What kind of car was it?

- It was a 4x4, I think it was silver.

(emotional music)

- This is it, I knew it!

I knew we'd find something.

- I just got the file, and my deputy did give a ticket out

on Highway 528 at 8:30 last night.

- So, that's proof then.

Will's not a suspect anymore.

- That's right.

No way he could've gotten back to Aspiration by nine,

which is when the fire started.

- Are you okay?

- Yeah.

I am now.

Caitlin helped prove I was innocent.

- Then I guess we both owe a lot to Caitlin.

- Will would've done the same for me.

- You think we can turn this

into something positive, a fresh start?

- Said some pretty awful things to you yesterday.

- I deserved them.

I've been so selfish lately.

I should've discussed moving with you.

- Wow.

This is a first.

You've never apologized to me before.

- I never meant to shut you out, Will.

- I know.

- If we both work on it, we'll be okay.

- Well, we'll give it a try.

- You gave our turkey away?

You're not making this up, are you?

We'll just go to the supermarket and get a frozen one.

- I already went!

They were sold out.

So, I went back to the butcher's.

This is all he had.

- Ribs?

For Thanksgiving?

- Great on a barbecue.

(country music)

- Oh, quit playing mind games with me, just throw it.

- I know a couple of breeders

who are looking for trainers here in Logan County.

You know, they're not as big as Aspiration Farms, but-

As long as we get to stay around here.

- I think we should make ribs

our new Thanksgiving tradition.

- No way.
