Marcellas said goodbye to his evicted friend Amy.

And my victory was her defeat.

And gosh, that was the most horrible thing.

NARRATOR: Though not everyone shared his loss.

Three down, seven more to go.

NARRATOR: Eric battled to the end

in the head of household competition.

But I just thought, and that's really all there is to it.

NARRATOR: But he lost the game to a former outcast, Gerry.

I'm dreaming.

I know.

NARRATOR: And the once powerful couples alliance feared they

might be targeted for eviction.

It's going to get ugly.

NARRATOR: While Josh and Marcellas tried to strengthen

their bonds with Gerry--

I want to say that I'm confident that with Gerry

as head of household that I'm safe for another week.

--Jason lay low--

Nah, I know you're going to do a great job.

NARRATOR: --not wanting to expose his secret alliance

with Danielle.

My goal in this game is to protect Jason and myself.

NARRATOR: And though Roddy made a deal to save himself,

he did not go out on a limb for his bedmate Chiara.

You want Chiara safe, dude?

If Chiara was going to say, hey, the girls

and I are sticking together, well, then guess what, Chiara?

You're on the block.

NARRATOR: The sparks continued to fly between Lisa and Eric.

I know now what it feels to have something real.

NARRATOR: But at the nomination ceremony,

Gerry made an announcement that could tear the couple apart.

Lisa, Eric, obviously I nominated you guys.

I have a chance strategically to remove the queen and a knight.

NARRATOR: Who will win the power of veto?

And will they use it to save either Lisa or Eric?

It's simply in terms of chess moves

my best play and nothing more than that.

I basically went to the bathroom after the ceremony

because I wanted to breathe.

Well, he goes next week, and we all

know that I mean, why do you guys

think I was so upset yesterday? - I knew.

I knew why you were.

Because all I had to do was get

that [muted] question right.

JULIE: We do have a new head of household.

Gerry, congratulations.

[laughing]

I mean, it's pretty evident that he's not knowing

any much further in this game.

I want that guy to walk out with shame.

Because for all of his [muted] bull [muted]

antics in that power of veto speech.

That is sinful.

My soul is not for sale.

He's playing just as dirty as anything.

So don't tell me it's about cleanliness and moral--

Yeah.

And he goes after two people for sleeping in the same bed.

Mhm.

I had a very strong feeling that Gerry was going

to try to break up the couples.

The reason why he didn't put up Josh

is because he believes that Josh is more disliked than he is.

It sucks that it's about the game

and not about someone who's been following him around for three

weeks, terrorizing him.

[sighing] God, that sucks.

It's gonna suck for everyone.

Oh, I know.

I think that you handled yourself very well.

I-- I don't know why I feel like this,

I know I'm not going anywhere.

I really think that the girls are

going to be around still to see some of the guys dwindle away.

I really don't think I'm going to lose against Lisa.

I think I'd get the guys' votes.

And even if I get a tie, all I need is three votes.

Gerry wants her gone.

He's not getting rid of me before her.

That I'm pretty certain of.

I'm gonna leave my door open if anyone wants to talk to me.

Just don't-- I mean, you know what I'm saying?

Like, it had to be done.

What are you going to do? You were going to--

you know, were you going to make enemies?

I personally don't like Gerry.

But again, as long as I stay on his good side,

I feel much better than being on his bad.

Well, I-- I honestly thought I have the hardest choice,

because there were some obvious things in the first

couple of nominations.

Yeah, true.

And I had to strictly go on strategy, you know?

Yeah.

Then we give him the veto and it all screws us up.

God.

The power of veto.

I'm worried about the power of veto,

because I feel that if Lisa does get

saved that I might be put up on the block.

Because I think he's out to ruin the couples.

So I would be the next one to be put up.

You need a good woman around the house.

[laughing] I'm just kidding.

He's not a bad guy at all, and I know.

It's just like--

I'm afraid to make it sound-- you know, because the guy's

head of household and didn't put me

up-- like him kissing his a*s.

But, like, he's a much better--

much better person than anyone's given him credit for.

Yeah, he might--

He has to be.

I mean, he works-- he's a teacher

for handicapped children.

He's got two masters degrees.

He's got those feet, though.

He's got to do something with the feet, Roddy.

What could you do about feet?

He can soak them things in a hot tub, get a little brush,

and just scrape at it.

That's all he has to do.

What are you gonna do?

Well, what do you think if, uh--

who do you think he puts up on the block if they use a veto.

Uh, probably Jason.

I'm scared of the veto, and I don't think I'm alone.

Everybody's scared of the veto.

And until that veto is done around someone's neck,

it's kind of scary.

I mean, I think everybody is susceptible every week,

every veto, every nomination.

You're truly a man of your word, Gerry.

And, uh, as far as I'm concerned,

I'm with you as long as possible.

I don't think that lying and manipulating

and all that stuff deserves to win.

I really think it should come down to, like,

the good-hearted people.

Have you talked to him about it?

Why? What's it gonna do?

If there's anybody who is pliable and listening,

it's the one guy in the house.

If he heard what you're telling me now,

there is a chance it could do a lot of good.

You have nothing to lose but so much to gain.

Everybody in this house agrees that Gerry and Josh are

basically the next two to go.

And whatever type of agreement is

made just to sound nice to Gerry's ears

I think is going to be made.

- Can I talk your ear off? - Sure.

Yeah.

I was wondering if you could please tell me why you would

put me up over somebody who from day one

has kind of walked all over you.

I have nothing to say to you, Gerry.

Who has said horrible things to you.

If the power of veto is used, if everything goes as planned,

then Gerry will hopefully put Josh up and possibly

save myself and Eric.

We're in the room.

Josh goes and elbows your bed while you're sleeping.

Josh, you know, pretends to hit you with the freaking plastic

lizard.

I'm sorry.

I had a-- one night, I had to leave the room because I

just don't think it's funny.

And I don't understand what I would

have done wrong over that.

She wanted to make sure it wasn't personal.

And I-- I think it was a ploy.

You didn't do anything wrong.

This is like a chess move.

And that's really all it--

that was all it was about.

My heart is saying that, you know what, the bad people

don't deserve to be here.

Mhm.

And, you know, it's time that a good person won.

I tried to pull off the feminine innocentness.

Josh has been lying and manipulating,

and we don't think that deserves to be in the house.

You know, for my sake, it's all about

surviving as long as I can.

How is that--

Because-- because--

--do you survive if Josh wasn't you gone?

Because I-- because I know that the rest of the forces

can get him out next week.

And that's just--

I'm just buying myself one more week.

In order for this game plan to work,

someone's going to have to go to Gerry and offer him a deal.

As false as it's going to be, it has to be believable for Gerry

to pull this off.

When I'm under stress, a lot of stress, I grind my teeth.

It's literally the scariest thing

you can ever hear in your life.

Sounds horrible.

I don't know if it's really cold on her side of the room,

but she's chattering away.

And it's scary and loud.

It sounds like she's breaking rock candy in her teeth.

Roddy said he came into the room last night.

And he said he couldn't believe it.

He was like, oh my god.

Like, it's so scary and it's like--

It-- it honestly sounds like you're chewing rocks.

I'm not even kidding.

I've actually gotten used to it now.

Because I know she only does it for a little bit,

and then it stops.

Roddy said it's like a automatic weapon going off.

I've never broken a bone or anything,

but her teeth grinding is how I would assume broken bones

grinding together would sound.

And every time she does it, I'm like.

Danielle, you're a teeth grinder.

Argh.

[making throat noises]

The only way this teeth grinding is going to end?

[laughing] When they announce that I won the $,.

When Lisa told me that she really wanted to get the veto

so she could save me, that--

it really did touch my heart.

I mean, that was just, uh, a very sweet thing to say.

And she really did believe it.

All right, all right, all right.

Drop your socks.

Grab your jocks.

This was the first veto game where

someone who really wanted the veto

could move the game to get that power.

At this point, I would say if I got the veto,

I would save Lisa.

Are we ready?

Yes.

This is going to be fun!

That veto is pure and simple a Pandora's box.

It looks sweet and it looks nice.

And it looks like it could be fun.

You open it up, and just gremlins come flying

out of that friggin' thing.

This game is simply called Turnover.

You'll each take a starting position

on one of the veto symbols.

Each one of you will move one square at a time.

You may move in any direction on the game board.

Once you have moved, you will flip over the square you were

previously standing on, thusly.

You may not step on a turned over square.

You may only step on a blue square.

Once you can no longer take a step,

you are out of the competition.

The last person who is able to take a step

could turn the tide in the house with the power of veto.

Take your places.

Jaybird, you lead off.

If someone else wins the power of veto,

I feel like I am potentially someone that could go up.

Flip over the last piece you were on.

OK.

[clapping]

Wow.

I see where this is going, potentially.

I was determined to try to win the power of veto

so I could save Eric from just the stress of being up there.

Three.

Josh.

Four.

I was clearly trying to win this veto competition today.

That way I'd absolutely secure Lisa's exit from the house.

Five.

Yours is colored.

Oh, shut up, Jay.

A friendly veto game.

Lot of anger today.

If Lisa does get saved, I might be put up on the block.

Absolutely I'm going to go for the power of veto.

Six.

I was absolutely going for the power of veto,

because I wanted to leave it alone.

I need to get Eric out the game.

I need to keep Lisa in.

Eight.

Oh, no.

Now you're the guy flipping them over.

There's a lot of strategy in this.

The main way to win this game was to go

the opposite way of people.

I tried to go to the middle, and I

was going to slash back to the end

and cut off a huge triangle for myself.

Get off my [muted] square.

It's my square!

No, you have to find a-- oh.

What are you talking about?

Come on it already. What are you going to do?

Hip check me?

I cannot go on that square?

No.

Mean.

Shut up, Josh.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Not where you might be in an hour.

You got to turn that one over.

Yeah, the way you were.

I was not aiming to get the veto, because I care about Eric

and Lisa so much, I don't want to be

the one to lower the hammer on them and kick one person out.

Essentially, that's what I would be doing.

Seven is out.

My strategy for the game was to try

to block off my own section.

Eight.

Gerry moves right towards me, and Jason just

walked in a circle like a chicken with no head,

cutting off my space.

And those two people avoided Chiara,

which gave her tons and tons of open space to work with.

I'm out.

Flip it over.

Flip the square.

Marcellas has left the building.

Four.

Fours.

Off like a prom dress.

I wonder who's going to win.

When it got down to Chiara and Dani,

the one person I really didn't want to get it was Chiara.

Privately I wanted Danielle to win the veto,

primarily because I think Danielle

is more of my ally than Chiara.

You're out!

[laughing]

It was Chiara.

She had positioned herself to win.

[laughing]

[clapping]

- And six. - OK.

Chiara wins and I was--

I felt a little safe.

[imitating fanfare] You have won the power of veto.

Oh, veto.

[clapping]

God, it's a stressful position.

It's a really scary position to be in,

because obviously I have two people

that I'm close to in the house.

And I have the opportunity to save one of them.

So what's going on, baby?

OK.

What should I do?

What are you thinking of doing?

Well, there's a couple of things I've been thinking.

Go to Gerry and say, if I free Lisa and you put up Josh,

you just saved yourself another week in this house.

Or if I do nothing, then that means Lisa's gone

and Josh stays.

NARRATOR: The house guests are homesick.

Which house guest would you like to see

receive a letter from home?

Not that I'm afraid to get emotional in front of people,

but that's tough.

Oh, I just had a rough moment there.

Yeah.

It hits you like a sledgehammer.

Yeah.

What happened?

Well, just the idea of hearing from home.

It's agony, missing my family.

I adore my children.

You know, I love my wife dearly.

We have, you know, a wonderful, fun-filled house

full of lots of humor.

If anyone in this house deserves a letter

from their family, it's Dani.

Ah, but to get a letter from home.

See how my girls are doing.

I just-- I miss them so much.

You have people around you, but you're really alone.

It's hard on a person.

This game takes a lot out of you to the point you--

you become numb to feelings.

But to feel human again, so to speak--

it's important.

Obviously, I'm clearly missing my girl

Merritt, my little cat R.

I think about him a lot.

You know, I miss stupid things.

Like, I miss, you know, where I live.

You know, I got a nice beach right by my apartment.

I miss Chicago desperately.

Chicago is such a great city.

You know, it doesn't ever rain here

in sunny Southern California.

So I miss rain from Mobile.

I miss New York--

the sound of cars.

And I miss screaming, and I miss people swearing at each other.

And I miss my grandpa, my -year-old grandpa.

I miss my mother.

I miss my brother.

I miss my sisters.

I miss my cat, Herman.

I don't know how he's sleeping without me.

I feel bad that I'm sleeping without him OK,

now that I have a Herman substitute.

I miss human contact, and I don't mean just hand-holding.

I'm going to have sex, like, every night for a month,

probably.

Sex I will never take for granted.

Never.

I like the idea of three months of foreplay.

I think it'll add a little bit more excitement to when

or if the big wow happens.

When I see my husband, I'm going to do things to him.

I know it's harder for certain people.

Gerry's been a little shady in the last couple of weeks.

as trying to get on people's good sides to the point

where they see right from him.

I can't believe Josh's one vote is more important

than the whole house's.

I know that Josh is the voice behind Gerry's hands.

It's not that people don't want to help.

It's that people are afraid to get

involved, because they don't want

to screw their own chances.

Well, like I said before,

It would take a miracle, I think, to persuade

Gerry to do the right thing.

Ger, how's about you and I tip into your room for a second

so we can have a quick word?

One can't help notice your new friendship

with a certain person.

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Oh, yeah.

You know, in the last few weeks,

when you guys were kind of not getting along, this person

did a lot of things to you.

And you may not have even been aware of.

No, I was aware of just about everything.

Really?

I got to say that I don't think anybody really trusts him.

You know what I mean? - Yeah.

Because of what he's done.

I'm as nervous about that guy, too.

He'll make a deal with the devil if he has to.

I sold Josh out.

I tried to save either Lisa or myself

to get Josh out of the house.

I heard a conversation coming from the HOH room.

I thought it would probably be in my best interest

to hear as much of that information as possible.

The way people perceive your position in the house right

now is, because of your friendship with said person,

why would anyone want to trust you in any sort of group

at all?

The strategy with that is-- is keep your friends close,

keep your enemies closer.

And that-- you know, that's the move-- that's the move I made.

Any one of us at the end against him, we win.

Eric came to me with an impassioned plea

that if Chiara decides to use the power of veto,

that I should put Josh up for nomination.

You are almost ensuring yourself even another week

or even two or whatever because of such a gesture.

I did confess to Eric that if I turned on Josh, that I would

be fearful of his retaliation until he

was evicted from my house.

If what affects this decision is your, like,

safety in this house, that's [muted] bull [muted],, man.

I will make sure that he does not

even [muted] with you again--

or do what I have to do to intimidate him.

OK.

When you try to screw me, all it does is make me stronger.

Is Kiki part of this conspiracy, too?

No.

Part of me understands that he's

trying to save himself and his girl,

and that's the natural thing to do in his spot.

I just don't feel that he should have done it at my expense.

And I do believe a lot of this comes from Lisa.

I don't deny it for a heartbeat.

To act [muted] around anybody here

would just be a horrible idea.

I'm gonna let it go, but know this is in the back of my mind.

And know that I know what I heard.

I think him going into that HOH room has now cost

him his stay in this house.

If this did go down and Gerry put him up on the block,

I could see Josh totally flipping out.

This is like the concentrated version of courting somebody.

If you're going to get along with somebody,

this would be a great way to test it.

I feel as though Eric is a special gift to me.

I think I found something a little more special

in Lisa, because we really have gotten along, like, incredibly.

I wasn't expecting to find anything real in the house

romantically speaking.

If I go tomorrow, well, that sucks.

Now there's a big possibility that I have to leave it behind.

a month and the things that you've done for me inside

the house have been the most romantic

and the most heart-touching things

and it was a wonderful, relaxing time.

I think it's just more likely than Erica.

I feel like such an evil girl, because I

have so many girlfriends that are probably like Chiara.

But they're not like her.

Reminds me of every girl I've ever hated growing up,

Unfortunately the wrong person is head of household.

And if I had any kind of say in what he was going to decide,

then I would be able to feel comfortable with saving one of

them, which I would love to do.

It's completely a nerve-wracking situation

to have two very important people to me in this house

up on the so-called chopping block.

And the fact that I have the power to save them.

I'm holding the veto meeting.

Going into the power of veto meeting,

I was absolutely terrified that I was

headed onto the chopping block.

I, as veto holder, am able to save one of the nominations,

both Eric or Lisa.

And right now, I'm going to give them

the opportunity to tell me why I possibly

should save them from eviction.

Lili, go first.

I'm not going to give you a reason of why you

should save either one of us, because I

know that you love us both.

And, um, whether I go or stay, I'm

happy to have been here for the amount of time that I'm here.

I had the veto last week, and it's

not an easy thing to possess.

Even though it has a lot of power, it's--

it's very difficult. One has to understand

why you may not want to use it.

And I exercised that last week.

So you know, if one of us has to go, one of us

will still be here.

If I told you that I'd rather have Lisa stay than myself,

well, then I'd just be lying.

With that, we love you no matter what.

Well, of course my hopes right now are for me to stay.

Um, well, obviously you guys know

this was really hard, because I love you both so much.

And you guys are both, like, two of my closest people

in this house to me.

So unfortunately, I'm not going to use the power of veto.

And the reason why I'm not is obviously for strategy reasons.

And if I was to use it, I would fear someone else going.

So I'm not going to use it.

That's it.

It was just so difficult. And they understand why I'm not

using it, but I'm sure that there's some anger

inside of both of them.

I think that Chiara didn't use the power of veto,

because if she did that there was a chance

that Roddy might have gone up.

And I can't say that I blame her.

Personally, I am glad she didn't use it.

I could have been the person that got put in the place

of whoever was vetoed out.

I was not terribly concerned that Chiara

was going to play the veto.

Because without telling her directly,

I let her know that I would not put up Josh.
