solve a little puzzle with me

so it's a lot like play but we learn

along the way

it's jj's mysteries yeah

the mystery of weather

it was a bright and sunny morning in

terrytown

and everyone was excited this was the

day their old friend montana would be

arriving for a visit

but montana was still far away beyond

the mountains

and she was caught in some very rainy

weather

i'm wetter than a soap bubble in a

bathtub

and what's worse i'm running late

montana to tara town airport

come in terrytown is anybody

there jj and lena here

who's this jj lina

it's me your old pal montana

hi montana we're more enthusiasmatos

that you're coming to visit

is everything okay everything's a

okay thanks for asking but i'm caught in

some cantankerous weather

i won't get there as early as i'd

planned but i'll call you later with the

next weather report

this is one interesting storm

what could be so interesting about a

rainstorm

see now we have to wait even longer for

montana to get here

guess we better call brenda and tell her

the bad news

jj and lena calling brenda blue come

in brenda blue hey guys what's up

montana just called and said she's

running late because of

cantankerous weather um

what kind of weather is that wow

that means real stubborn uh looks like

montana has run into a

big rainstorm that's strange

it's not raining here see and i don't

know why it

ever has to rain all it's doing is

making montana

late why does it rain

what good is bad weather anyway

ah that's a great question in fact

i think it's time for us to solve the

mystery

of weather did she say

i'd love to solve mysteries you can do

it you can do it find the clues there's

nothing to

it it's another jj's mystery

what do you say jj lina shall we all

solve the mystery of weather together

but weather sounds like a big

mystery stereo grande

i'm not even sure where to start first

jj go outside and tell me all the

different kinds of weather you see

tracy and snuffy can help okay

and lina you and i will make a list of

all the different kinds of weather

i'll be right over

hi guys montana's stuck in the rain

somewhere

and we're solving the mystery of weather

brenda asked me to tell her all the

different types of weather we're having

today

all the different types of weather but

the weather looks the same today

as always yeah it looks like a regular

old day to be

i wonder what she means

let's find out this

is jj calling brenda i hear you jj

i'm out on the runway with tracy and

snuffy

but we only see one kind of weather the

sun is shining

good is there anything else

well it is a little bit cold this

morning

very good now you've discovered two

kinds of weather

it's sunny and cold but i think it will

warm up

later on excellent you've discovered one

of the clues

oh i did yep

you discovered that weather changes

several times a day

even in the same place need a rific

but why does weather change

ah that's the next part of the mystery

the three of you need to go and find as

many kinds of weather as you can

and report back to lena and me in the

communications hanger

okay okay let's go

and so one by one snuffy tracy

and jj each headed off into a different

direction

to see what kind of weather they could

find

this is jj calling lena and brenda

it's very hot and very dry over terry

town park

it's cold up here and there's a lot of

snow

too

[Music]

cold and snowy

[Music]

even though it's cold it's clear

[Music]

you can see forever got

it cold with snow on the ground and

clear

this is stuffy calling i'm out by the

ocean

and there's a nice cool breeze

cool and breezy at the ocean

[Music]

yes we have all kinds of weather thanks

snuffy

over it up brenda

as tracy flew from tippy toppy peak she

could see

storm clouds in the distance i think i

know where montana might be

those clouds look like rain clouds you'd

better get back here tracy

sure thing brenda i'm on my way

whoa nelly i can hardly fly straight

this wind is making me jitterbug like a

ticklish typhoon

this is brenda blue where are you i'm

headed to safety

down yonder

welcome back jj oh poor montana that

must be some storm

[Music]

howdy brenda i'm stuck over here on the

other side of the terrytown mountains

don't know where exactly it's raining

cats and dogs

but i'm out of the wind and i've

hunkered down for a spell

thanks montana

but i just don't understand why do we

need rain

why can't every day be sunny see

sunny weather is much more fun

that's the other part of the mystery

discovering why

we need different kinds of weather can

you help

lena and jj with these answers

does rain start with the sun shining on

a body of water

or does it start with a cloud

did you say the sun on the water you

were right

and that was a hard question too i

thought rain

came from clouds well it does jj

but it starts when the sun heats up

water on a lake

or a river this causes the water to

evaporate

[Music]

what evaporate that's when water

turns from a liquid into a vapor the

vapor then goes

into the sky and forms clouds and then

the clouds get so heavy they start to

rain

la uvia exactly

it's a water cycle it starts with water

on the ground

then it evaporates into the air then

it comes back to earth as rain or

if it's cold it comes down as snow

either way

the water cycle makes full circle

wow let's see how montana is doing

calling montana this is brenda blue are

howdy brenda the skies have cleared and

it's

beautiful glad to hear you're on your

way

look at me now i'm as shiny as a new

silver dollar all because of the ride

but with the weather delay i may not

make it to terrortown today

that's okay montana travel safely and

we'll see you soon

i guess rain can be muy bonita

that's right it can be very beautiful

and very useful for all of us

do you know why

which of these needs rain flowers

fields of vegetables

a lake

[Music]

all three right

all three flowers and crops need water

to grow

and the lakes and rivers also need water

and we all need fresh clean drinking

water

so when it rains or snows it helps

everyone

and the rain cleans everything up too

there are many

wonderful things about weather even

though sometimes it causes us to change

our plans

guess what jj what i think we just

solved the mystery of weather

right brenda you got it you did

it you solved every clue jj's mystery

good for you

i wonder how montana's doing now montana

to terra town

are you there jj and lina we sure

are montana it's nice weather now

and i'm being pushed along by a

texas-sized tailwind

thanks to this change in the weather

i'll be there soon

and the rainstorm left something really

special

a big bright rainbow

would you like to fly up and see it

after all the rain goes look at

all these rainbows it's such a

pretty place

so that's how jj and lena learned about

the mystery of weather

and all the good things that weather can

do and they couldn't have done it
