05x13 - Game Changer: Battle Royale Pt. 4

Post by bunniefuu »

WEBVTT

- [Sam] Last time on "Game
Changer: Battle Royale,"

a series of twists sent
home Lily, then Anna,

then brought back Lily,
then sent home Izzy.

Six players remain, but not for long.

[upbeat exciting music]

[guitar smashing loudly]

[flames flickering powerfully]

- The only way to
continue is by continuing.

This is part three of "Game
Changer: Battle Royale."

Please welcome back to the stage,

Ally Beardsley,

Tao Yang,

Rekha Shankar,

Lily Du,

Jacob Wysocki,

and Vic Michaelis.

[Sam laughing excitedly]

Rekha, I'm gonna take that back.

- [Jacob] See ya!

- [Vic] No, keep it, keep it.

- Just keep it.

- Sam, put it on.

- Just keep it, you deserve it.

- Keep it.

- Put it on, do a twirl.

[everyone admiring loudly]

- [Vic] It's kinda crazy,

'cause I just did a spin.
- Watch out, Jeff Probst

- Players,

are you ready for your next
individual immunity challenge?

- [Tao] No!

[everyone laughing and clapping]

- No, king!

- As comedians, you're used to being loud!

It's part of the job!

But, this challenge

is gonna ask you to do quite the opposite.

- Uh-oh.

- This is the "ASMR Challenge."

[Lily laughing]

Ash, if you could please
bring out the decibel meter.

[slow rhythmic music]

Here's how this is going to work.

One at a time, you are
going to approach Ash

and read the sentences

that I've written here on this monitor.

The loudest each round is out,

until there's one person standing.

- This is my downfall.

[Sam and Lily laughing amusingly]

- I wish Grant was here.

- Vic, we'll start with you.

[group thigh drum roll]

Your sentence, Vic, is this.

[bright pinging noise]

[low rhythmic guitar]

[Lily quietly chuckles]

[sparkling sounds and low jazzy music]

[Vic whispering inaudibly]

- They didn't say anything.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- They did, and with a 66.7,

you can go ahead and sit down, Vic.

- [Tao] Wow.

- 66.7 what?

- Jake, that's you.

- [Tao] Yeah, my sound
system goes to negative 50,

so...

- Whenever you're ready.

- The same phrase?

- The same phrase.
- Okay.

[sparkling magical sounds and jazz music]

- [whisper] Give me 50 cookies
for my little turtle's birthday.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- With a 67, you can sit down, Jake

- What was Vic's?

- [Sam] 66.7.

- I can hear Tao practicing,
and I would like him to stop.

[everyone laughing]

I would like him to stop!

- I would like to issue a formal request.

- Lily, it's you!

- [Ally] She's facing that way.

[sparkling magical sounds
and smooth jazz music]

[Lily whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [Lily] Did that register at all?

- 56.2.

- 56.2.

[everyone applauding impressively]

- f*ck.
- What?

- It's good to be a quiet little
Asian. [laughing amusingly]

- Rekha?

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Rekha whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- Damn, I'm the loudest
b*tch there ever was.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

My man, let's go!

- Tao?

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Tao whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [Lily] Wow, all that practice paid off.

- [Vic] Okay.

- And finally, Ally Beardsley.

- Oh, God.

[Lily chuckles]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [whisper] Give me 50 cookies
for my little turtle's birthday.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 67.6, which is the
loudest from this round,

- 67.6, which is the
loudest from this round,

meaning that you are out, leaving five.

Next up, Jake.

Jake, your sentence is-

- Oh, a new sentence.

- Did Grant say this about you?

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [whisper] Bleeding badly
is my daddy's favorite hobby.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- I love that we've decided
that speed is a factor here.

- 68.8.

- [Sam] 68.8.

- Damn, it was louder.

I thought... I thought it'd be quieter.

f*ck!

[everyone laughing amusingly]

What was that, what was the measurement?

- 90.1.

- Lily, it's on you.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [whisper] Bleeding badly
is my daddy's favorite hobby.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 56.9.

Lily, you are tearing it up.
- Dang, Lily!

- It's inherently a louder phrase.

- Rekha, you're up.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Rekha whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

Did that register?

- 48.9.

[Lily gasping loudly]

- Mommy's quiet b*tch.

- [Sam] 48.9.

- From loud to Mommy's...

She got punished, she got quiet.

[Ally laughing]

- Tao.

- Just hit that big 70, dawg.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Tao whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 67, Tao.

- You f*ck.

- Vic?

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Vic whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 66.9, Vic, way to go.

- Whoo!

- Jake, I'm so sorry.

- I know!

[everyone laughing amusingly]

I f*ck' know, Sam.

I was too loud.

[buzzer blaring loudly]

Surprise, surprise!

- Lily, that's you up.

New phrase.

[bright pinging noise]

- Wait, this might be
hard 'cause it's sexy.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- Cut the crap before I
call my horny neighbor.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 66.1.

[Ally whistling surprisingly]

[Lily exhaling loudly]

- Your loudest one yet.

- I was horny.

- Horny decibels go through the roof.

- Okay, yeah, I have to get all...

Get my horny out here.

[Rekha exhaling slowly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Rekha whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 67.1.

- Wow!

- I'm a loud b*tch again.

- Tao.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Tao whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

Well done, Tao, 65.8.

[Lily gasping surprisingly]

- Whoa!

- Wait, you said it through closed lips?

- He had sort of the
corner of his mouth open.

- Technique!

- The "Popeye."

- Yes, the "Popeye" technique.

- Hella ventriloquist.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

[Vic clearing throat gently]

- And Vic.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Vic whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- No!

How?
[everyone applauding]

- What?

- Rekha, that's you out, I'm afraid.

- Wow, wow.
- Moving on.

- Loud b*tches associate.

- Yeah.

Get outta here.

- Tao, that's you.

[Tao clearing throat loudly]

[bright pinging noise]

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Tao whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Rekha stifles a laugh]

- f*ck!

[everyone laughing amusingly]

- f*ck, f*ck!

It sucks, dude, it sucks.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

[gentle jazz music]

Vic.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Vic whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- What the f*ck?

- [Sam] Vic-

- And they're quiet.

- Has figured something out.

- Wow.

- Lily.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- [whisper] I'm a sloppy little boy

who likes sloppy little sandwiches.

[sparkling magical sounds]

- 57.5.

- It was that big whistle "S."

- Hard "S."

- That, Tao, is you out,
[buzzer blaring]

leaving a showdown between Vic and Lily.

Vic, I'm gonna ask you to go first.

- Yeah, absolutely.

[everyone applauding supportively]

- [Lily] Vic breaks it
from being too quiet.

- A lot of plosives in this one.

- Uh-oh.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Vic whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

- Oh my God.

- Lily, you got this.

Come on, channel it, channel it.

[Sam laughing]

- Quiet please, respectfully
quiet, behind the camera too.

[sparkling magical sounds]

[Lily whispering inaudibly]

[sparkling magical sounds]

That means, Vic, you
are the winner of this-

- Wow!

[everyone applauding impressively]

Good game, good game, good game!

- [Sam] Community challenge.

- Or, should I say?

[Sam laughing at the silent bit]

[Everyone cheering silently]

- Congratulations.

- Thank you so much.

- How does it feel?

- Amazing.

- Players, I will see you after
confessionals at the vote,

where one of you will be
the fourth person eliminated

from "Game Changer: Battle Royale."

[bell chiming loudly]

[deep tense music]

- Do you have any idea
where these idols can be?

- Literally no.

[gentle pensive music]

- Big news, huge news.

"They're in plain sight,
but they're hard to find,"

what does that mean?

So, I'm lookin' around.

Hmm, those wires look awfully odd.

[gentle pensive music continues]

[materials shuffling gently]

[Ally running quietly]

- [whisper] You're kidding me.

- Laos, Cambodia.

Chiang Mai, Pai, Bangkok.

Gettin' closer.

- Did you see that?

- No.
- Oh my God.

- I didn't see it until he
started hangin' out around here.

- Oh my God.

It was plugged in.

- [Vic] Unbelievable.

- Vic and Beards know that I have it.

I felt safe letting them know.

- Do you think we've walked past it?

- Absolutely, we've walked past it.

- I have a feeling that it's wires.

- I think that's a really good theory.

[gentle pensive music continues]

- Tides are turning.

Very lucky that Lily comes back.

But I'd already created an entire universe

where that didn't happen, and
what that would look like,

and now that is both a
boon and a bust for me.

- Where I'm at now is still
with Tao, my sweet baby, Tao.

I also am trusting Ally
Beardsley implicitly.

- [Sam] Almost everyone
who's come in here so far

has said that they're
in an alliance with you.

[Ally laughing happily]

- That's why you lose the games first,

that's why you tell people
how you're gonna vote

and you do it.

I think you just build loyalty

and then you don't look
like too much of a threat

you're just kinda like smiling.

But then you're like, "Surprise, I won."

- I think everyone's told me
they're going to vote for me.

[laughing]

Which I don't really see
the tactic behind that

'cause I'm not the best at the game.

Lily, are you voting for me?

That's why Ally said.

- I thought we were voting for Jacob.

- But you could be putting on
a big act, and that's okay.

- Okay Tao, I think I'm voting for Ally.

Ally told me that everyone
was gonna vote for me.

[Rekha laughing amusingly]

- Oh my God, okay.

I'll think about voting for Ally.

- I'm here to play games,
just keep on playing games.

[Rekha chuckling]

Please.

I might vote Ally out first, to be honest.

- Instead of Vic and Jacob?

- Yes.

- We gotta get somebody
off the old world team,

the Old Guard.

It really is like, "Who
do I see myself beating?"

- [Sam] Yeah.

- That's how I'm making my decision.

- [whisper] Vic, who are you voting for?

- [Vic] [whisper] I have no f*cking
idea, do you guys have names?

- Jacob's playing the
game very, very hard.

I now understand how I'm being viewed

and where I am in the order.

I do genuinely think he and Ally

will bring me to the final three,

but I think I'm three outta three.

- She's going you or Ally.

- Mm-hmm.

- It's time to start spicing
things up a little bit.

- This is what you made me do,

this is what you made me do.

- Please welcome back to
the stage Ally Beardsley,

Tao Yang,

Rekha Shankar,

Lily Du,

Jacob Wysocki,

and Vic Michaelis.

[gentle tense music]

Well players, here we are at another vote.

You tell me, what's the
plan, what's the vibe?

- It's weird, but I'm feelin' great.

[everyone laughing]

- Why? I wonder why.

- I feel fantastic.

- You gotta be proud sitting
up there with a necklace.

- Yeah, you know, as a fan of
any kind of source material

that would be related to this, you know,

gettin' to have the necklace
even for a little bit

is such a treat.

- Jake, you're givin' me a nice long look

down the barrel of your nose.

- Huh, maybe it's just every
time there's been a vote,

my name's been in the mix.

- Ooh.

- Maybe I'm feeling a
little salty, a little sour.

- Oh.

- A little lied to.

Maybe surrounded by rats.

[Sam guffaws]

- Are you nervous headed
into this vote, Jake?

- Every time I have been
chill, I've been wrong, so.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

- [Tao] Don't be chill.

- And I know I was like
"straight chilling" earlier.

I got my head on a swivel,
I feel like a gargoyle.

[Sam laughing loudly]

- Do gargoyle's heads swivel?

- Aren't they notoriously made of stone?

- Ooh, you guys don't
get real gargoyle lore.

They wake up.

- Rekha, how are you feelin'
as we head into this vote?

- I heard some rumors.

Whatever may be the case,
I'll move forward with gusto.

- You sound like a politician.

[Rekha laughing amusingly]

Question for you all, have
we been loop-de-loop hunting?

- We're all mentally ill about it, man.

[Sam chuckling]

- I brought some stuff on the stage

that I would like to pitch to
you as being loop-de-loops.

I've Greek'ed it, so you can film this.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

- Wow.

- Wow, how considerate, Rekha.

- An industry pro!

- So I think if these cinnamon sticks

were just a different
angle, and you put two...

They're kind of just facing
each other the wrong way.

That's a loop-de-loop.

- Rekha, the way this works in "Survivor,"

is if you think that anything
might be an immunity idol,

you play it.

[deep tense tone playing]

And so, it's time to vote.

Ally, you're up.

[deep tense music]

- [Lily] Always the first vote.

- [Jacob] It's like gettin'
called to detention.

- [Lily] Did you guys go
to the principal a lot?

I did.

- [Tao] You did, for what?

- Talkin' too much.

- [Sam] Tao, that's you.

[deep tense music continues]

- [Lily] If somebody found an idol

and didn't tell us,
that would be so juicy.

- [Rekha] I just think
it'd be hard to hide.

- [Sam] Rekha, that's you.

[deep tense music continues]

- You thought we were gonna be so smart

when you hid those idols.

What do you think, we're Brennan?

- [Sam] Here's the thing.

I felt that last time we did this,

idols were found way too fast.

Lily, that's you.

So this time, we decided not
only to make it more difficult,

but also to be a little
bit more creative about it.

- [Rekha] Yeah.

- [Sam] Jake, that's you.

- [Lily] You're sure it's not on you?

- [Sam] No.

- [Lily] We gotta squeeze Sam again.

[Sam laughing amusingly]

- [Sam] That was a good moment.

Vic.

[deep tense music continues]

- [Rekha] Do the sunglasses help?

- [Jacob] They help me not care.

- Ash, if you could please
bring out the basket.

[deep tense music continues]

Thank you so much.

I will now read the votes.

If anybody has a loop-de-loop
and would like to use it,

now would be the time.

- I would like to use mine.

I'll bring it, it's one item.

Thank you.

[Lily laughing quietly]

- This is

not an immunity loop-de-loop.

Any votes cast for Rekha will still count.

- That isn't an immunity loop-de-loop?

That is literally so weird, Sam.

Awkward sauce!

[everyone laughing]

- There was a moment

where I thought he was
about to say that it is,

and I was like, "Well, I'm going home."

- [Tao] I really thought one was inside.

- All you had to do was cut open a cup!

- First vote.

[gentle suspenseful music]

Rekha.

- Spelled correctly!

- Yeah, I know. [laughing happily]

I know you, b*tch.

- Second vote.

Ally.
[Ally gasps]

- The first one.
- Whoa.

- Third vote.

- Okay.

- [Sam] Rekha.

- Spelled correctly.

- Fourth vote.

Rekha.

- Wow.

- Spelled correctly.

- The fourth person

voted out of "Game
Changer: Battle Royale,"

Rekha, spelled correctly.

Rekha, you may approach.
- It's okay.

It's okay.

[everyone applauding warmly]

- You played a great game.

- Rekha, any last words?

- Alliances are not always
what you think they are.

Keep that in mind.

- Damn.

- I thought I was an
angel, but I'm just a rat.

[amused laughter

- I think what I understood
to be an alliance

was not what an alliance was

because I was voted out by
my entire alliance basically.

That's okay, [laughing
amusingly] that's fine.

What I learned is that doing
the games too seriously

is extremely unfun, so
just have fun with it.

[Rekha chuckling]

[soothing string music]

- These moments are always
hard, players, aren't they?

I mean, you can't help but have empathy

for someone who was just voted off.

In fact, as an exercise,
why don't the group of you

go up there while they come down here?

- Oh no, that's okay.
- Oh my God.

- Except for one of you,

who will participate
in this next challenge.

It's up to you.

- I see.
- Ooh!

- And we don't know what the challenge is.

- It's whatever that is.

[Sam laughs]

- That's good deduction, Jake!

I can't allow you to rummage,
or feel, or anything.

- No, no, no, no, just eyes, just eyes.

- What do you wanna do?

Do you wanna do random, or
does somebody wanna stay?

- How about who doesn't
wanna do it, step back.

- Who doesn't wanna...

- [Ally] So, you two are
kinda thinking about it.

- Do you wanna do it?

- Sure.
- Okay.

- Okay.

- Jake is gonna stay.

- [Vic] Win it all!

- The rest of you can go
ahead and head upstairs.

[air whooshing noises]

Please welcome back to the
stage, our voted off players:

Adam Conover, Ify Nwadiwe,

Izzy Roland, and Rekha Shankar.

Now players, I'm a big
believer in second chances.

And so I'm going to give
one of you the opportunity

to come back into the competition.

We are going to have a little talent show.

We are going to have a little talent show.

Call it a "Talent Showdown."

If you could please
stand, and Nico and Ash,

if you could bring out the accoutrements.

[energetic string music]

Here's how it's going to work.

Each of you taking turns

is gonna have 30 seconds
to show off a talent.

It could be anything, singing, dancing,

a party trick, standup comedy,

or something using one of the
objects you see before you.

Anything, so long as
it's at all entertaining.

If you no longer have a
talent to share, you are out.

Any questions before we get started?

- Are you judging the talents

based on the quality of the performance?

- You know what I just realized?

I'm far too big a fan of all of you

to be able to decide objectively

what's entertaining and what's not.

I'm going to have to
bring in a professional-

- Howie Mandel, Howie Mandel.

- Introducing now-

- Howie Mandel.

[Izzy chuckling]

- Comedian, producer,
legendary game show host,

Howie Mandel!

[Jake screaming ecstatically]

- I was joking!

I was whispering your name
under my breath as a bit!

- I heard you.

- Holy sh*t!

Truthfully, and I know
this is gonna seem insane,

I feel like I casted a spell,
as if it were "Beetlejuice."

- So pleased to have someone like you-

- Oh, I'm thrilled to be here.

- Raise the pedigree of our show.

- Oh my gosh.
[everyone applauding]

This is so exciting.

Is this for me?

- That's for you!

- Okay.

- [Sam] Howie?

- Yes?

- Here is your paddle.

- Wow, a hermetically sealed paddle.

So there's an X or a check.

- That's right.

Now Rekha, once we say go, we're going,

so I hope you're ready.

- What the f*ck, why am I first?

This was a random order.

- This is so exciting.

- And go.

- Give me a topic about
anything and I'll make a pun.

- Socks.

- Socks?

Well actually, I eat socks
because it's sole food.

[Sam gasping quietly]

Yeah, it's not very good
for my tongue though.

- Ooh!

- This is a really awkward relationship,

but we could patch it up.

This is a "Hanes"us performance.

God, I hope you don't watch
this on the boob tube.

- Tube socks, I get it.

I got what you were doing there.

- Do you see what I'm saying?

- [Howie] No, I saw what she's doin'.

- God, it "socks" to be
me right now because I-

- It "socks" to be you!

- You know what I'm saying?

- What do you think, Howie?

- Oh, I'm giving her a...

[bright pinging noise]

Because the fact that you just off the...

It's amazing.

- Thank you so much.

- You don't see a lotta sock humor.

- I think there's some
"America's Got Talent"

in your future!

Izzy, go.

[upbeat jazzy music]

- Did you break something?

[everyone laughing amusingly]

[Sam laughing amusingly]

- Oh, oh, oh, oh.

[Howie laughs]

- [Sam] Check!
[bright pinging noise]

That earns the check!

Izzy with a record breaking five seconds!

- That's dyslexic twerking.

It's upside down, you don't see that.

- [Sam] Ify.

- Alright, I think I'ma
just take this opportunity

to one up Izzy for you.

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

There's electronics flying out.

[Sam laughing amusingly]

Did you just crap a microphone?

Okay, alright, alright, alright.

I'll give him a check.
- Check!

- I don't want... I don't know...

I wish I could whistle

'cause I'd love to
whistle while you twerk.

- Adam.

- Alright,

this is gonna be the hardest
stand-up crowd I've ever done.

We vaccinated, folks?

You folks vaccin... You vaccinated, Howie?

- Yes, I am.

- A little controversial to vaccine.

You know, my friend was tellin' me

he wasn't sure he wanted to get it

'cause he read on the internet,
it could change your DNA.

- Yes.

- I know, I had to tell him it's not true.

But also, dude, why are you
so intent on keeping your DNA?

- I like that, hold for the
laugh, hold for the laugh.

[Ify laughing]

Thank you.

- But think about it, man.

You're ugly, you're balding-

- Yeah.

- You're stupid enough

to think a vaccine could change your DNA.

- Wait, ugly and balding?

- If I were you, I'd
just re-roll them dice,

you know what I mean?

Treat it like a new "Dungeons
and Dragons" character,

see what you get.
[Sam laughs]

- I like that.

And the fact that you were able to go on,

even if the mic is not plugged in.

[Adam and Sam laugh]

[bright pinging noise]

- [Sam] That's a checkmark!

- Oh my God, I've been doing
stand-up comedy for 15 years.

If I got an "X," that
would've f*ck' sucked.

Thank you, Howie.

- It would suck, but not sock.

[Howie laughing]

- Jake!

- Oh, and here's the guy
who whispers my name.

- [Sam] It's your go.

- I went to Julliard for seven years.

- Is that true?

- Yeah, it is.

So I'm gonna play a little
jazz for you, if that's cool.

- It is cool.

- And find my tempo.

[Jake snapping rapidly]

- Wow, fast.

- I don't know what's about to happen.

I don't know-

- I think it's already happened.

[horn blaring chaotically]

[Jake scatting badly]

[horn blaring chaotically continues]

[Jake scatting badly continues]

- Wow.

[everyone laughing]

You're like Kilometer Davis,

which is like Miles, but I'm Canadian.

- [Jacob] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[everyone laughing amusingly]

[bright pinging noise]

- [Sam] Wow!

- [Adam] Wow.

- Howie says it's good.

- If you can't tell, jazz, he's scatting.

You play, you improvise.
- Yes, seven years.

- Seven years of Juilliard,
is this branded entertainment?

Is Juilliard sponsoring this episode?

- They are now.

- They should be so
proud, look what they did.

- Look at their alumnus.

- Keep the talent coming.

- Absolutely, Howie, for you, anything.

Rekha.

- Can I sing something that you can't use?

- You wanna do something
that can't be used?

- You know why?

- No, let's just say it was
done and I didn't enjoy it.

- No!

[everyone laughing amusingly]

No!

Howie, Howie, no!

[everyone laughing]

Is that eliminated?

- Did I not save you some post?

- [Sam] Oh, you certainly did.

- You can save post.

I will sing a fully copyrighted song.

- I will give you the
opportunity to sing the song.

- Go ahead.
