- Once upon a time,

there were two chicken farmers who collected eggs

from their hens every morning.

(clucking)

- But one day, they found an egg

outside the coop that didn't look like one of theirs.

- What'd you find, boy?

(barking)

Deema, check it out! I think it's an egg?

- An unusual egg. Lookit!

This one's white, but our chicken eggs are brown.

Hmm, it's longer than our chicken eggs too.

And it's kind of soft and squishy, not hard like our eggs.

- Welp, it's definitely not a chicken egg.

Ours would break if they got squished like that.

- Whoa! (barking)

Did you see that?!

- Looks like it might hatch soon.

We gotta find this little eggy's mama.

- Yeah! If it hatches without its mama around,

who will take care of it?

(honking)

(barking)

(engine revving)

- Hey! It's Captain Nonny!

- Maybe he can help us find Eggy's mama.

- He knows this swamp like the back of his hand.

- Hello.

- Hey, Captain Nonny! You ever seen an egg like this?

- Nope.

- It's definitely not a chicken egg.

- We're not sure what kind it is.

- There are lots of animals on the bayou.

Could be any of 'em.

- Could you take us down the river to help us find its mama?

- Don't see why not. Hop in.

(soft music)

Better keep your arms inside.

Can't be too careful with all the gators around here.

- Oh, I'm not afraid of gators. We see them all the time.

- Don't worry, Eggy.

We'll find your mama and you'll be safe and sound.

- We better hurry. Looks like Eggy's gonna hatch soon!

- Hold on. Full speed ahead.

(upbeat music)

(suspenseful music)

(gasps)

(shivering)

- Oh no, it's starting to shiver.

- It's probably cold.

- Captain, do you have anything that could warm Eggy up?

- Maybe.

But we're gonna need your help.

Which of these things could we use to keep an egg warm?

Is it the rope, the life-buoy, or the blanket?

- It's that one! The blanket!

(angelic music)

- Right. We can use the blanket.

It's soft and warm and big enough to wrap all around the egg.

- There you go, Eggy. Nice and warm!

(soft grunts)

- Yep. That egg-baby is coming soon.

- We gotta find your mama before you hatch!

- I'm on it.

(soft music)

(barking)

(engine revving)

- And so, with the egg all warm and cozy, the farmers continued

searching for its mama...

- Look, nests! Maybe one of them is Eggy's.

(soft music)

- Hmm...

- Here, take these.

- Thanks!

(playful music)

Looks like they're all birds' nests.

- They are. Those are egrets' nests.

They like building them along the sides of the bayou.

- Well, Eggy's not a bird egg.

It's got a soft shell...

and bird's eggs have hard shells.

(soft grunting)

(suspenseful music)

I'll keep looking.

Gator!

- I warned him.

when an alligator came right up to their boat!

- Let's get outta here, Captain Nonny!

(engine revving)

- Oh!

(suspenseful music)

- It's gaining on us!

(beeping)

Phew, that was a close one.

I think we're safe for now.

No gators in sight.

(upbeat music)

(engine revving)

- Look out for that log!

- That's not a log.

It's an alligator.

(both): Alligator?!

- Bloop! (both): Whoa!

Ah!

- Uh-oh.

- Why is this gator chasing us?!

(suspenseful music)

(grunts)

- Faster, Captain!

(engine revving)

(chuckling)

- Oh no! The gator's got the rope!

- Time... to zigzag.

(♪)

- That's impressive.

- Most impressive.

Hold on, everyone.

(both): Whoa!

(grunts)

Whew!

- Great zigzagging, Captain! How's Eggy?

(soft music)

- It's okay!

(playful music)

- Look! Eggy has a crack!

- Oh! It's getting closer to hatching. We gotta move!

(upbeat music)

- Captain Nonny's quick thinking helped the chicken farmers

escape the alligator so they could keep looking

for Eggy's mama.

- Hmm... my friends should be around here somewhere.

They know a lot about fish eggs.

(bubbling)

- What's that?

(suspenseful music)

Ah!

- Hi Professor Oona. Professor Zooli.

- Phew. Hello.

- Hi, everyone! What can we do ya for?

- We found this and think it might be a fish egg...

- Yeah. And we need to find its mama before it hatches.

- Ooh! We're fish experts!

- We know all about fish on the bayou. Let's have a look.

- Aw! - It's cute!

But it's not a fish egg.

- It isn't?

- Nope, not a fish egg at all.

Fish eggs are much smaller.

- Mm-hmm.

(sighs)

- Not a bird egg, not a fish egg...

There are lots of other kinds of oviparous animals!

This looks like a reptile egg to me.

Like a lizard...

They all build their nests right in the grass

along the riverbank.

- It's gonna hatch soon!

- Hang on, little Eggy.

Come on, we gotta go.

where lots of reptiles lay their eggs.

(engine sputtering) (beeping)

- And so, chicken farmers Deema and Goby searched up and down

the shoreline, looking for reptiles.

(hissing)

(chuckling)

(squeaking)

But no one was missing an egg.

- I'm sorry, Eggy. We can't seem to find your mama anywhere.

- There are more reptile nests up ahead. We'll check there.

(engine sputtering)

(beeping)

- Ah-ha!

(both): The gator!

- Hang on!

- See ya later, alligator!

(sighs)

(both): Ah! Eggy! - Oh, no!

(both): Phew.

- Oh boy! I think Eggy's hatching!

(all): Ah!

(grunts)

(♪)

(all): Whoa!

(slow motion distortion)

- I think...

I think we lost it!

- Hey, look at all those nests!

- Reptile nests.

- I bet your mom is over there, Eggy! Come on!

Hmm...there sure are a lot of different nests.

- Yeah. We need to find which one Eggy belongs in.

And we're gonna need your help.

Oh, hi Gator... we were just leaving...

See ya! - Yup, don't mind us!

(both): Uh-oh!

(gulping)

But they hadn't found its mama yet...

and the alligator caught up to them!

- Go away, gator! We have a little Eggy to protect

and we won't let you stop us

from getting it back to its mama!

- Wha... Bu-but... I'm its Mama!

- What's a... what-now, alligator?

- Eggy's an alligator egg?

Whoa.

(chuckling) Come here, baby!

(laughs) Oh...

Oooh... one of my eggs floated away down

the river this morning and I've been looking all for it.

(both): Oh!

- When I saw you with my baby, I kept trying to catch up

with you!

But who-we that boat is fast!

(chuckling)

- Mm-hmm.

- I'm sorry, Ms. Gator!

We've been looking for you all day!

We just didn't know it.

- Oh my! You found me just in time!

(soft grunting)

(soft music)

- Eggy hatched! - Aw!

- Oh. Thank you so much for finding my baby!

(soft grunting)

(laughing)

- Aw! - We did it!

- And so, after a long search,

the chicken farmers finally returned Eggy to its mama.

And they all lived happily ever after.

(cheering)

- Watch out for gators! - Gators rule!

- Yay! - Cute little Eggy!
