- Well, good morning, everyone!

I've got something to show you today.

- Is it a surprise?

- Actually, it's more of a "sea-prise"!

- A surprise? - I love surprises.

- What is it? - Cool!

- All these animals live in the ocean.

- Those are starfish! - Right.

We can find starfish in tide pools,

near the top of the ocean.

- Oh!

Coral! Pretty...

- Uh-huh. Coral like to live in warm water,

with lots of sunlight!

- Cool! A jellyfish!

- Yup! But not just any jellyfish.

- Whoa! (gasping)

- It's glowing. - Yes.

It's a bioluminescent jellyfish!

- A bio-looma-what?

- Bioluminescent means it lights up in the dark!

- Right! They live near the ocean floor,

where there's no sunlight.

- So that's why they're not all in the same tank.

They like to live in different parts of the ocean!

- Exactly. And the ocean is made up

of many different habitats.

- A habitat is a place where an animal lives.

- That's right, Nonny!

Let's think about some of the different places

we can find in the ocean...

A tide pool is a place where we can find...

- Starfish! - Yup!

And a warm, sunny reef is where we can find....

- Coral! - Right.

Coral can be bright colors, like orange or red or pink.

And down near the bottom of the ocean floor, we can find...

- Jellyfish! - Yes!

And it's so dark down there,

they have to make their own light!

- The ocean is full of cool habitats!

- Let's sing about it!

(rhythmic music)

♪ Water in the sand

♪ Those little coves make perfect homes ♪

♪ For starfish, mussels and clams ♪

♪ Then head out past the waves

♪ Where you'll find the coral reef ♪

♪ But coral's very fragile

♪ Yeah, it's actually alive

♪ So look, don't touch, as you snorkel on by ♪

deep in the ocean...

There was a submarine called the SS Friendship.

Its crew was almost done with an important mission:

delivering singing Bubblegrams to friends under the sea.

Because today was Friendship Day!

(playing note) (humming)

- Whew. That was the last delivery!

- Captain Deemo, we have a Friendship Day emergency!

We still have three more Bubblegrams to deliver,

and we're running out of time!

I need you and your crew to deliver them right away!

- Aye aye, Admiral!

You can count on us!

(barking) - Great!

Your first stop is a tide pool, at the top of the ocean.

Then you'll dive a bit deeper, to a coral reef.

And then, way down deep,

to the darkest part of the ocean...

the midnight zone.

- Tide pool, coral reef, midnight zone. Got it!

- Oh, uh, just make sure

you don't bump into any Krakens along the way.

- Kraken?! Isn't that... a sea monster?

- It sure is.

Good luck, crew!

- I really hope we don't bump into a Kraken...

- Don't worry, Gil. Our sub is really fast.

It's got super-duper deep-sea hyper-speed.

Now let's finish this mission,

so we can get to the Friendship Day party!

- Aye aye, Captain. (barking)

- And so, the SS Friendship was off on its way

to quickly deliver three more Bubblegrams.

(eerie music)

- There it is!

Tide pool ahead!

- A tide pool is an area of seawater

filled with small animals.

(epic music)

- Ahoy, Mateys!

but we have to deliver more singing Bubblegrams.

was off to make their next delivery.

- Okay, let's map the quickest course to the coral reef.

- Hmm. It's pretty far.

I wonder if there's a faster way to get there?

We need your help!

Which is the shortest path to the coral reef?

This shorter path is the fastest, Captain!

But the charts show a big mysterious cave along the way...

- Steady as she goes, Mr. Gil.

(sighing)

- I sure hope there aren't any Krakens in there!

- Let's take a look inside.

Searchlights on!

Nope. Nothing in there.

(eerie music)

wasn't as empty as Captain Deemo thought it was.

- Oh!

- Just two more Bubblegrams to deliver,

and then it's back home for the big Friendship Day party.

(banging) Huh?

(gasping) - What?

It's right behind me, isn't it?

- It's supposed to be right here.

But all I see is a sunken ship.

- Gil! That's the coral reef!

Whoa! It's so colorful!

- Yeah.

And look at all the little fish that live in this reef.

There's a clown fish!

- Excuse me?

- Ah!

- Sorry we scared you.

We just wanna know...

(together): It's time for lunch!

- Coral likes to grow on pretty much anything

if there's sunlight and warm water.

- And fish love to live around the coral reef

'cause there's so much food to eat there,

and so many hiding places to protect them!

- That's so cool!

- Thanks for showing us this awesome habitat!

But we have to go now.

We still have one more Bubblegram to deliver!

- Next stop, the midnight zone.

The deepest, darkest part of the ocean.

- Deepest and darkest?!

- Prepare to dive!

- Yes, I know, I said "aye-aye".

- No. Eye-eye-eye!

- Kraken!

Ah!

(alarm sounding)

(whirring)

- There's a kelp forest up ahead!

It's easy to get tangled in kelp,

especially if you have lots of tentacles!

- Kelp is a type of seaweed

that grows in large underwater forests.

- We're going in!

Hey! Kraken! Catch us if you can!

(suspenseful music)

- Oh, ratfish!

- Yes! Great steering, Captain!

- Let's hurry! If we wanna get home

in time for the Friendship Day party,

we've still got one more Bubblegram to deliver!

- And so, the SS Friendship escaped from the Kraken,

and finally made it to the midnight zone.

- Yikes.

We have to go down into that trench?

- It'll be a tight fit, First Mate Gil,

but we can do it!

- Getting real dark out there...

- That's why it's called the "midnight zone".

- But if we can't see anything,

how can we deliver the last Bubblegram?

- Don't worry.

That's what the sub's searchlights are for!

(clanking)

(alarm sounding)

- Uh-oh. (squeaking)

and were on their way to the midnight zone,

but their lights went out!

- How much further, Captain Deemo?

- Well, according to my calculations...

(banging)

...we made it!

We've landed in the midnight zone!

- Phew!

- Come on, guys. Let's do this.

- Uh, it's really dark in here.

- Oh! We have something for you from Admiral Grouper.

(laughing) - Don't be scared!

She's a bio-luminescent jellyfish.

She can make her body light up!

- I wish we could stay, but we have to get back home

for our Friendship Day party.

- No, you don't.

- We don't? - Nope!

- Oh! - Awesome!

Uh...

But how can we have a party in the dark?

- Don't worry! My bioluminescent friends can light up the party!

I think I know what's going on!

- You do? - Yeah!

Come on.

- Who are you? - I'm Captain Deemo.

That's Gil back there and this is Bubble Puppy.

(barking) - I'm Lucy!

And this is my new Kraken friend.

- Um, Lucy...

That's not a Kraken.

It's just our sub, the SS Friendship.

- A sub?!

(sighing)

So much for meeting a new best buddy.

- You can still have a friend.

- I can? - Sure!
