jimmy the mouse was a shy little thing

he didn't say much but he did love to

sing

each night in the bath so i've been told

he'd sing

and he'd sing till the water went cold

then one summer evening outside jimmy's

house

walked alistair sparkle the show

business mouse

he heard jimmy singing and knew in a

flash

this was a voice that could earn lots of

cash

so alistair sparkle ran up jimmy's wall

and into his bathroom

in no time at all sparkle said you're a

star

i'm very impressed let's go and make

records

uh once you got dressed young jim

jumped for joy this news made his day

the great singing mouse was off on his

way

at the door stood his friends they were

off to the park

they went there each evening until it

got dark

are you ready said mole the day's nearly

done

we're off to the swings would your

friend like to come

sorry said sparkle but i've planned lots

of things

to make jimmy a star and they don't

involve swings

then sparkle whisked off his new singing

sensation

to work on his image at a secret

location

sparkle fitted jim out with the latest

of gear

he gave him a wig and put a ring in his

ear

he added some jewelry and put hair on

his chest

then he made him wear shades and a pink

sparkly vest

when he was finished sparkle gave out a

cheer

at last they were ready to launch jim's

career

and what a great start the singing mouse

god

for jimmy's first song hit the number

one spot his next 20 songs

all flew up the charts then he broke

into acting

he could choose his own parts game shows

and chat shows

he soon learnt the ropes starring in

commercials

and one or two soaps his fortune built

up with considerable ease

and he started to spend it on more than

just cheese jimmy started collecting

diamonds and pearls bought

speedboats and cars and attracted the

girls

he bought a new home at a real pasha

dress

but was constantly chased by both tv and

press

his house was a prison from dusk until

dawn

his doors were kept locked and his

curtains were drawn

his road to fame had been too fast

and now he missed his friends and his

past

he called up mole and tried to sound

cheery

when really poor jimmy was feeling quite

teary

he didn't like fame and the problems it

posed

if only when bathing he kept his mouth

closed

yes he had everything the looks and the

wealth

but life is no fun when you can't be

yourself

then up through the floor sprang mole

his old friend

he dug jim a tunnel there was light at

the end

are you ready said mole i've dug a hole

to the park

we can stay there all day and play till

it's dark

jim was so happy he pulled off his false

chest

and returned to the park to those he

loved

best sparkle searched high and low for

the mouse who could sing

but he never discovered the park or the

swing

now sparkle sells tickets to visit the

house

from which jimmy vanished as quiet

as a mouse

you
