Our lead story today takes
us to the beach where

Dorothy the Dinosaur
and her friends

are enjoying the
sand and the sea.

Let's go to the beach now
and see what happened.

We thought we'd come back to the
beach while it's still summer.

Just look at those cliffs.

I wonder what it would
be like to climb them.

I wonder why the
beach is made of sand?

CHILD 1: It's
really, really tiny.

There's like thousands of them.

As many as that.

But they're all very tiny.

Even though they go
into this little group

that you pull them up,
there are hundreds of them.

And the shells, they
must be for something.

To hide from crabs.

DOROTHY: So lots of creatures
live in the rock pools?

CHILD 1: Well, the rock pool
has many, many creatures

like sea anemones, shells,
and maybe some clams.

Clams would have a lot of
colors inside, and maybe pearls.

I saw some feathers
on the beach.

CHILD 2: From seagull.

They grow more feathers so they
need more space to put them.

So while the feather is growing,
it pushes out the other one

because there's this little
hard part that is strong

and it can push it out.

It's like the middle.

I found a few oysters and a
lot of moss, some clams, maybe

some sea urchins, maybe some
dead fish, maybe some bones,

maybe something like that.

DOROTHY: The beach is so
beautiful with so many things

to see and do.

This is wonderful work.

It's like a construction site.

things about blocks.
