to declare the Capital Castle Sandpit now open!

Oh, dear, it’s empty.

How will the ABC Monsters be able to play in the sandpit

without any sand?

It gives me no pleasure to declare

the Capital Castle Sandpit now closed

until further notice.

(narrator) So the crowd wander off,

leaving only Alice, Brian, and Cherry Berry.

That’s when Alice notices something.

Look at this. It’s a spade.

I wonder who it belongs to.

Perhaps one of the ABC Monsters

has disappeared and left it behind.

Oh, I hope not.

Let’s check and make sure that everyone’s here.

(narrator) So with a wave of Cherry Berry’s Jester’s Stick,

all the ABC Monsters line up in alphabetical order.

She’s vanished.

Let’s see if the ABC book knows where we can find her.

Let’s go!

(narrator) So before long, Alice, Brian, and Cherry Berry

found themselves walking up a steep hill.

Whew, I’m tired.

I’m cold. It’s chilly up here.

I’m hungry.

(both) You’re always hungry.

Let’s rest over there.

Ah, that’s better.

I’m still hungry.

And I’m still cold, brrr.

(narrator) Suddenly, the three friends heard a strange noise.

- [hissing] - Shh, listen.

Can you hear that noise?

It’s not me.

who’s making the noise?

[hissing]

That’s right.

Sorry for the noise.

My teeth are chattering with the cold.

The crisp packet was then swept along on the wind

and carried down the street.
