Oh, hi! It's you. I'm so glad to see
you and you're just in time...

Well, today we're doing
something very exciting

in the Big Blue House.

It's one of my favorite things.

In fact, its probably my
most favorite thing of all.

We're going on a...

[sniffing]

Hey, what's that smell?

[sniffing]

[sniffing]

Hm...

[sniffing]

It's you!

[sniffing]

Ooooo. Tell me,

did you just have some juice?

Because you smell
sweet and... juicy...

[sniffing]

Or do you smell this
good all the time?

[laughing]

[sights]

Now, what was I going to tell
you...

Oh, yes! Yes, yes, yes...

my most favorite thing of all.
We are going on a picnic!

Hm mm.

Everyone is
getting ready for it.

And we're going to have the
picnic out by the otter pond!

Yeah, I think
everything is packed here.

Yeah.

There's Pip and Pop.
And there's our picnic basket.

No doubt, filled with
good stuff to eat!

Let's see what you've got?

We've got claaams!

[laughing]

Clams!? All you packed is clams?

What else do you
want on a picnic?

Well, I don't know...
I was thinking maybe other food!

-Other food?
-Hm mmm.

-What does he mean, Pop?
-Beats me, Pip!

Bear, there is no other food.

Well, guys, and please,
do not get me wrong but,

clams... are not
everyone's favorite food.

Clams!
Not everybody's favorite food?

-It can't be!
-I don't believe him.

Ohhhh.

Pip! Pip! Are you all right!?
Speak to me.

I'm fine.
I was just pretending.

Now, you do know there
are other kinds of food, right?

Other kinds of food...
Oh, we get it.

-Yeah, you mean like oysters...
-Yeah, and mussels.

Yeah, we'll have to pack
those, definitely...

we'll have to pack them...

Okay, okay. I'll tell you what.

Why don't I finish
packing the picnic basket.

And you two can go
get the picnic blanket.

-All right, Bear.
-Well, okay. Hurry back...

Red is good, blue is nice...

Well, I better get this picnic
basket packed. Now lets see.

There are so many
different foods

you could take on a picnic.

And everyone here
has their favorites...

Food. Yeah, food.

Now, lets see.

Well, we all know what Pip
and Pop would like, right?

You guessed it, clams!

And, well, Tutter,
likes a good cheese... or two...

[laughing]

And, we can bring muffins for Ojo

and bananas for Treelo...

And I like to have a corn fritter
with honey dripping over it.

And a whole mess of cooked
and buttered string beans.

[slurping]

And a nice wedge of triple berry pie.

[pleasant noise]

There are so many good foods to eat.

♪ When I'm in a hungry mood
what I want to eat is food ♪

♪ Baked or boiled, fried or stewed ♪

♪ Depends on how I feel ♪

♪ Might want a little or a lot ♪

♪ Something cold or something hot ♪

♪ With a cherry, maybe not ♪

♪ A snack or a seven-course meal ♪

♪ There's so many good things
you can eat ♪

♪ Something salty, something sweet ♪

♪ A giant lunch, a tiny treat
mmm so good to eat! ♪

♪ If you're a bird
you'd eat some worms ♪

♪ Or bugs or anything that squirms ♪

♪ Who bothers washing off the germs? ♪

♪ Nah, don't save any for me! ♪

Really!

♪ If you're a toad
you'd eat a nat ♪

♪ Or gulp a fly, just like that! ♪

♪ If you're a goat you'd eat my hat ♪

♪ Or anything else that you see! ♪

♪ There's so many good things you can eat


♪ A ginger snap a pickled beet ♪

♪ Homemade cookies by the sheet ♪

♪ Mmm, so good to eat! ♪

♪ There's so many good things
you can eat ♪

♪ Dinner's a great place to meet ♪

♪ Grab a plate and take your seat

♪ Yum! So good to eat! ♪

So, let's get those foods
together for our picnic.

In fact,
I saved some in the refrigerator

and I'm going to get
them right now.

Bear? Bear!
Hi, Bear. What are you doing?

Hello, Tutter. I was just about
to open the refrigerator.

Don't! Don't, don't you think,

don't you think you should wait on that?

I mean, what's the hurry?

Look outside,
it's a beautiful day.

What's the hurry, Bear?
[chuckles]

Well, Tutter,
I can't wait for this picnic.

In the refrigerator,
I have a corn fritter

that I'm going to put
in the picnic basket.

-A com fritter?
-Umm..

-My...
-And

a whole bowl of cooked
and buttered string beans.

Cooked and buttered
string beans? My, my...

And a nice wedge
of triple berry pie!

Lemme at 'em!

-What... don't!
-Tutter.

Don't you... you think we need
more time to chat, Bear? Ha!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I... I really
don't think we talk enough!

Well, okay, Tutter what
do we need to talk about?

About how we need to talk more!
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

We need to talk more, Bear.
Never enough time. Never enough.

Well, sure, Tutter, let's talk
while I pack the picnic basket.

-Yeah. well...
-Let me get to that fritter.

My... my corn fritter.

[humming]

My corn fritter.

-It's... it's... it's missing.
-Umm..Bear...

Yes, Tutter?

You see, Bear,

that's what I wanted to talk
to you about. That... um...

wonderful fritter with the perfect
amount of honey on it?

Yes.

Well, um, I ate it.
I ate it all up!

[tense music]

-Tutter?
-Yeah.

You ate my fritter?

Um... yes... yes.

Well, um, that's all right...

I still have my bowl of cooked
and buttered string beans...

which... isn't...

[tense music]

...Either.

[laughing]

Tutter?

Well, that's the other thing I wanted
to talk to you about, Bear.

That, that those string beans,

the cooked and buttered
string beans...

with just the right amount
of butter on them...

You mean...
my string beans?

I ate 'em.
I ate 'em all up, too, Bear.

My pie! You didn't eat
all my pie, did you?

You don't think I'd
eat all your pie?

Ah! There are bites...
taken out of it.

All right, all right!
I just... I couldn't resist!

I couldn't resist, bear!
I ate that, too!

Well... well... Tutter,
it's okay.

It's, it's, it's alright.
I'm I'm just wondering now.

[exhales]

What am I going
to eat for the picnic?

Well... Bear, there's… there's plenty
of cheese in the cheese drawer!

Well, I'm sure Tutter, I'm...
I'm sure...

But, with all the cheese
in the cheese drawer.

-Yeah.
-Why did you eat all of my food?

Well Bear, a mouse can't
live on cheese alone.

I'm still growing, I'm still
getting bigger, bigger, bigger.

[laughing]

Can't argue with that.

Bear, don't worry. I'll make
you up a nice cheese sandwich...

a double decker...
a double decker,

with... two kinds of cheese,

Bear... and that little
bit of mustard... that

you like so much.
Just like you like it!

-Well... okay.
-Yeah.

[laughing]

So, you'll be in charge
of making all the sandwiches.

And...
putting them in the basket.

-Yep!
-Right?

That's right, Bear!

-I'm on it! On it! On it!
-Okay, Tutter, thanks.

-Your welcome, Bear.
-Maybe, now this picnic will

finally get together.

-Goodbye Bear.
-Bye Tutter.

[laughing]

[Shadow laughing]

Hey, did you hear that?
That sounded like Shadow.

[music]

[Shadow laughing]

That sure sounds like her.
But, she's kind of hard to find.

But, if we look real hard,

and sing a song together,
she might appear.

Hey there, furry ol' bear!

[laughing]

Hi, Shadow.
It's so good to see you.

So, what have you been doing today?

♪ I was just dancing
along the silken threads ♪

♪ of a spider's web ♪

That sounds like fun.

Well, Shadow, do you happen
to have a story for us today?

Why certainly, Bear! Let me see
what I can fancy! Just watch.

the Muffin Man the Muffin Man? ♪

♪ Do you know the Muffin Man ♪

♪ Who lives on Ginger Bread Lane? ♪

It's Muffin Man!!
Super delicious -Tasty Treat.

Made from flour, milk, sugar,
and eggs. And baked in an oven

at 350 degrees until
he became... Muffin Man!!

Muffin Man, able to sit
tastily upon your plate.

♪ Muffin Man, able to fly with a little
help into your mouth ♪

♪ It's Muffin Man! ♪

♪ So do you know the Muffin Man
The Muffin Man the Muffin Man? ♪

The muffin man and I have
know each other a long time.

In fact, I knew him when
he was a muffin boy.

He's always been a lot of fun.

That's good to know.

Well, I'm off. But when
you need another story...

[both laughing]

Well, we have got to get
this picnic started,

or it will get to late.

TREELO: Bear! Bear!

-Come to the banana, Bear!
-That's Treelo.

Hey, Treelo pack for picnic.
Ha, Banana.

Hey,
Treelo, what have you got here?

Hey, Bear! Treelo bring
bananas to the picnic, see?

That's great...

And you've already packed
them in the basket.

-Yeah, ha, ha, picnic, picnic.
-Umm, Treelo?

Yeah?

What else are you
planning to eat?

Bananas. Bear.

Well, yes, we've got
the banana thing covered.

But, I was wondering
what other foods,

other than bananas,
are you planning to eat?

You know,
there are other kinds of foods.

-Really?
-Yeah, like fruits and vegetables.

Oooo look, Mi and vegetables.
Look.

Yeah, see. Here's a cucumber.

-Oooo, cucumber.
-It's green and crunchy.

Crunchy..cucumber looks
like shape of banana. Bear.

Yeah. Kind a. Or, look!
You could have a pineapple.

Oooo...
pineapple... ahhhhhh...

Prickly,
Bear, pineapple prickly.

Well, you peel it, and all
the good stuff is inside.

-Oooo, like a banana.
-Kind of.

-Banana.
-Or you can have this...

-Oooooh! Hello.
-A tomato.

How are you... tomato?

-A tomato is juicy...
-Juicy.

-...and plump...
-Plumop

-...and red...
-Red... red tomato...

Treelo love tomato!

That's great. So we'll put
it in the picnic basket.

No, no, no, no.

But, Treelo,
I have to put it in the basket,

along with the other foods
that we're going to eat!

Eat? Εat! Bear, NO! Shh!

Be careful, tomato hear you.
Tomato Treelo's friend.

[lull]

-The tomato is your friend?
-Umm..Tomato Treelo's friend.

[smooching]

Well. Well, that's great, um.

But, Treelo, be careful..

You don't want to hug
the tomato too hard.

No. Tomato, okay?

[exhales]

Tomato fine. Bear. Yeah.

Okay, well, why don't
you two go off and play,

and I'll go check on Ojo, okay?

-Alright, later, Bear.
-Bye, Treelo. Bye... tomato.

[laughing]

Well, it's nice to see,
that Treelo likes

other foods,

even if he doesn't eat them.
Wow, it's getting late.

We'd better hurry
up with this picnic-

it's no point
in picnicking in the dark!

But what is missing? Games!

And,
Ojo was in charge of the games.

Let's go upstairs and see
how she's doing. C'mon.

[music]

[humming]

Wow, look at all of these toys.
So many things to do...

Hello, Bear.

Hello, Ojo. So, have you found
anything for us to play with?

We gotta get this picnic
to the otter pond...

Um, well yeah,
Bear, I found, a jump rope

and I found a bunch of other
stuff we could play with.

-Great!
-But,

we're not going to play
with any of those things.

Well, what are we going
to play with then?

Well, we're gonna play,
Cowpokes on the Open Range!

I play a Cowpoke. Treelo, Pip, Pop,
Tutter, and you can be Cowpokes too!

Oh, great!
I'm going to be a cowpoke.

Umm. What does a cowpoke do?

Umm, Cowpokes ride on the open
range on their... um... horseys.

Horseys...
of course... What horseys?

Well, the horseys that are
tied up to your bed, Bear.

Here, come on, grab one cowpoke!
We gotta ride.

Woah, woah there horsey!
Whoah, whoah, whoah!

I see. Ojo is pretending
she is riding a wild horse.

Whoah, slow down horsey.
Alright, I tamed her, Bear.

Let's ride the Open Range!
Heee-yeah, giddyup horsey!

Great, I can see it now...
Cowpokes on the open range!

-Cool!
-We trot across the range

dodging cactuses
and tumbleweeds...

Hey, don't step on those cacti,
lil' cowpoke.

And, we say howdy to all
the jackrabbits...

[unison] Howdy, Jackrabbits.

And then we ride
off into the sunset.

No,
we gallop off into the sunset!

Alright!

[shouting]

[panting]

[laughing]

So, pretty cool game
for a picnic, Bear?

It's great!
But, look how late it's getting?

Ojo, we have got to start this picnic now,
or well never make it!

Come on. YE-HA!

YE-HA!

We've got the blanket,
I don't know how to fold it...

I think it would be good...
yeah... yeah..

[laughing]

-Hey everybody!
-Hey, Bear!

So,
are we all ready for the picnic?

Yeah,
yeah, we've go the blanket...

Well, let's make sure
we have everything.

Do we have the picnic blanket?

Got it, Bear!

Do we have the sandwiches?

Well yeah,
I've packed the sandwiches!

The mouse has the sandwiches!

With an extra portion
of lettuce just for you, Bear.

[laughing]

Ah, thank you Tutter.

Treelo do you have your...
friend?

Treelo have friend! See?

Friend? It's a tomato!

Eeyeees! Tomato.

And we've got a great
game to play. Right, Ojo?

You bet!
Cowpokes on the Open Range!

[imitating horse ride sound]

-Cooool!
-Yeah, that's really neat.

-Yeah. Okay then Let's go...
-Okay.

[storm and thundering]

[annoyed]

Look at that?

Sorry, guys.

Into every life, and picnic,
a little rain must fall.

No.
What are we going to do now?

Hey, I have an idea. Why
don't we have a picnic inside?

ALL: Great idea!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey! How
about right here in the kitchen.

Well, it's a great place.
A great place for a picnic.

Alright, everybody, help me
spread out the picnic blanket.

A picnic inside-this
is going to be great!

Yeah, no wrinkles!

BEAR: Alright!
Spread out the comers now.

[cricket chirping]

Ah! There she is.

Hello, Luna.
How are you this evening?

Great, Bear. I was
just stirring up the milky way.

And how are things
in your Big Blue House?

We had a picnic!

Huh! A picnic? Isn't that grand.

You know, Bear, I must confess,

I've always wanted
to settle down to earth

and have a little picnic,

they look like such fun.

Well,
we had such wonderful foods.

The Otters brought clams.

And Tutter made
cheese sandwiches.

And Treelo?

[laughing]

Treelo brought
his favorite food...

BOTH: Bananas!

[laughing]

Sounds like you had the makings
of an excellent picnic.

We had fun.

Ojo came up with this great game
-Cowpokes on the Open Range!

The open range is
a beautiful place.

You should visit
it some day Bear.

-I'd love to.
-But, Bear?

I noticed it rained today?

How did you manage to have
a picnic with the rain?

[laughter]

No problem, Luna!
We had the picnic inside!

We had so much fun!
And no ants!

I never thought about that.

Umm, Luna? Why do people
think you're made of cheese?

[laughing]

I don't know how that started,
Bear.

But I think it goes to show
that people always have

food on their minds,
even when they look up at me.

Hmm.

Well, Luna, would you join me
