Brad: Hello. And welcome to the show.

Xavier: Woo hoo!

Today we're meeting someone great:

Theodore Roosevelt.

Yadina: Theodore was born in the year

and when he grew up,

he became the President of the United States.

Xavier: He also really loved nature.

So much that he created

five important National Parks

and the United States Forest Service.

Brad: National Parks are amazing

areas of land that are protected.

And the National Park Service are the people who protect them.

People can visit and enjoy national parks,

but they can't build cities or factories on them.

Yadina: That means they are wide open spaces

where plants and animals have room to live and grow.

Brad: Grow? Um... how big?

Ah!

Yadina: Dr. Zoom. (giggle)

There you are!

Brad: Ahem. Let's um, start the show.

Xavier: Woo hoo...

Yadina: It's teeter totter time Dr. Zoom.

Brad: I want the...

spider!

Brad: Eee!

(blows) Ah!

(blows) Wah! Ah!

Ah! No-go zone.

Xavier: No-go zone?

Brad: I do not like creepy crawly things.

So when I see one I mark it on my map as a

No-go zone! So I know not to go there again.

Brad: I saw a squirmy worm here: No-go zone!

Brad: A slimy frog over here: No-go zone.

Brad: And now a hairy scary spider.

The playground is definitely a no-go zone.

Yadina: Uh Brad, everywhere is crossed out.

Xavier: Yeah there's nowhere left to play.

Brad: Well if the museum got rid of all the trees and flowers,

there wouldn't be anywhere for the icky bugs to hide

and then we'd have lots of space.

Xavier: I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Yadina: There must be something else we can do.

Xavier: To the secret museum!

Brad: But that's a whole other kinda of no go zone.

Xavier: I wonder who the Secret Museum will send us to meet?

Yadina: And where we'll go?

Brad: And wheeen!

Yadina: Look out below! Xavier: Woo hoo!

Xavier: Hi Berby. Yadina: Hi Berby.

We're getting something.

Brad: (gasp) Do you think it scares away spiders?

Yadina: I'm gonna guess... no.

Xavier: It looks even cooler next to that mustache.

Theodore Roosevelt.

That's who we're going to meet.

Yadina: In New York.

In the United States.

Brad: In .

That's over years ago.

Do you think Theodore Roosevelt can help me find

somewhere safe to play?

Xavier: Only one way to find out...

Ready for adventure?

Xavier: (gasp)

Xavier: Aww. Yadina: A Mouse.

Theodore Roosevelt: Did anyone see a mouse?

Yadina: It ran underneath the couch.

Theodore Roosevelt: Thanks.

It's okay... Here little guy.

Yadina: Hey his hat.

Just like the one from the Secret Museum.

Xavier: Yep cool hat, cool mustache,

that's Teddy Roosevelt alright.

Theodore Roosevelt: Thanks for the help.

I'm Theodore but you can call me Teddy.

Xavier: Awesome mustache Teddy!

Brad: (gasps) Aaah!

(snake hisses)

Ahhh!

Oof!

Xavier: It's okay Brad calm down.

(frog croaking)

Brad: (sighs)

Yadina: You've got some funny pets Teddy.

Theodore Roosevelt: Oh they're not pets.

These are wild animals, they belong outside.

They're part of nature

and nature needs space to live and grow.

I was on my way to find them a new home.

Want to come? Brad: Yes please.

Brad: I don't want to know what else is lurking

in this house of horrors.

Teddy: (whistling)

(birds chirping)

Yadina: Wow you talk to birds?

I talk to a turtle.

This is Dr. Zoom.

Theodore Roosevelt: Nice to meet you Dr. Zoom.

I can't really talk to birds

but I love hearing their songs

and seeing how many different kinds I can find.

Those ones are Barn Swallows.

(bird chirping)

Xavier: What's going on over there?

Theodore Roosevelt: That's the park where the mouse,

frog and snake used to live.

But now they're putting up a building

(crash)

Yadina: Oh, it's so sad they lost their home.

Teddy: Nature needs space to live and grow

just like people do.

Xavier: Maybe... hmmm...

this tree could be their new home?

Yadina: Or what about that garden?

Teddy: Too small.

They need lots of space with

grass and shade and fresh water.

Yadina: But there's lots of space... oh.

(horse neighing)

Brad: I guess he does look kinda... scared.

Yadina: Just like you were with that spider Brad.

Also the mouse.

And the frog. And the snake.

Brad: Yeah.

But they couldn't really hurt me...

not the way a carriage could hurt the snake.

Teddy: (gasps) I think this might be the place.

Xavier: Whoa!

This park is amazing.

Yadina: Central park is so big.

Brad: And beautiful.

Teddy: Isn't it great?

There's tons of space here.

Let's look for a place for my animal friends to live.

Xavier: These trees are awesome.

Teddy: And a perfect place for the mouse to live.

Plenty of shade, seeds and good dirt for its den.

Yadina: That looks like one happy mouse.

Xavier: Only two more animals to go.

Yadina: Over here!

Yadina: Dr. Zoom and I think this would be

the perfect pad for the frog...

Get it? Pad.

Cause of the lily pads.

Teddy: (laughs) Yes.

There's also lots of water and sunshine and big juicy bugs.

Kids: (laughter)

Brad: Glad you're happy with your new home little froggy.

Now we just need to find you one too.

Brad: (sigh)

Teddy: Yes. The snake will love living here where it's quiet.

Teddy: Hm. I think it's still scared.

Yadina: What do we do?

Brad: Um, excuse me snake,

I know this is scary.

I'm not too sure about all this nature stuff either.

But I think you'll like it here if you just give it a try...

Yadina: You did it Brad.

Brad: But what if this part gets torn down too?

Like either last home.

Teddy: It won't.

This park is protected.

That means people can visit

but they can't build here.

Berby: (bleep)

Xavier: Guess we're about to find out.

Berby: (bleep blarp bloop)

Teddy: Actually, you can call me Mister President now.

Or just Teddy.

Yadina: I want to be president someday too.

Is it fun? Teddy: Yes.

Especially when you get to do incredible things,

like help create national parks.

Xavier: Amazing. Yadina: Wow.

Teddy: These parks to protect special places.

Teddy: No one can build anything

so the plants and animals are safe.

that nature has space to live and grow.

Yadina: Wow. Look at that.

Brad: Awww.

Yadina: All these animals look so happy.

we have a spider situation over there.

Don't worry little spider.

Anywhere we want.

I'm going to change the No-Go Zones

to the "Whoa Go Zones."

Places we need to be careful

because there are plants and animals.

They need space to live and grow, just like we do.
