[eerie flute music]

NARRATOR:A night of torment for Barnabas Collins

for he has found the identity of the vampire

who has been attacking Maggie Evans,

and it is is own love, Roxanne.

Unable to destroy her, he has ordered her coffin chained,

intending to keep her in the secret room of the old house.

And so tormented, depressed, unhappy,

he leaves the old house, not noticing the figure of a man

hidden in the room.

[suspenseful orchestral music]

[door creaking open]

[hammer clanking]

[chains rattling]

[coffin door creaking]

Oh, who are you?

What are you doing here?

How did you get into this room?

[g*n fires]

[dramatic horn music]

[eerie music]

Sebastian!

He's gone.

Who are you talking about?

I sh*t him, but he kept on walking towards me.

He just disappeared.

Gerard.

I wanted it over.

I want it ended, but he wouldn't let me k*ll her.

How did you know she was here?

Willie.

The crypt.

I want you to tell me exactly what you know about her.

There's only one thing you need to know.

This!

You were in her power.

Not anymore, not since Maggie.

I hate her.

I'm going to destroy her!

No you won't

She will k*ll Maggie.

I will not let that happen.

Why did you bring her here, why?

It's no concern of yours.

Just know that you must not try to destroy her.

You understand that.

I will take care of Maggie, she will be safe

but you must forget Roxanne!

Now say to me that you will do as I tell you.

I will.

Now, tell me one more thing.

Did Roxanne ever mention Gerard Stiles?

Yes, she did.

What did she say?

I don't know.

I don't remember.

I don't know.

[clarinette music]

Roxanne Drew.

Yes there was a girl in Collinsport by that name then.

She lived near here with her father.

She was very pretty.

I never knew her well.

But something happened to her though.

What?

I never knew,

but there was some sort of a mystery about it.

People talked about how different she

[mysterious lullaby]

Go on!

He's here!

Gerard?

Don't ask me anymore!

Don't!

[eerie music]

Daphne, you're going to leave Collinwood tonight.

No!

Daphne, now stop arguing with Barnabas.

What do you think, that I'm going to stand here

and wait til Gerard comes to k*ll you?

Now come on, we'll go upstairs and pack your clothes.

No!

I cannot go while the children are lost!

Daphne, there's nothing you can do for the children.

They will come to me.

It has been decided.

Now come on.

When we find the children,

I promise I'll send them to you right away.

I'll stay down here until you finish packing.

I don't feel that I should go.

Listen to me, do you think that he can stop me

from taking you now?

Come on, I want to see a smile on that face, eh?

[laughs] Now that's better.

You certainly don't look like a girl

who's about to go into a whole new world.

You are, you know?

We both are.

Now pack that suitcase!

We deserve a toast.

Here you are.

To our life.

To our life.

Daphne?

Daphne!

[gasping]

[suspenseful violin music]

Gerard, what are you doing to us?

I don't understand why it's taking them so long.

Barnabas!

[dark orchestral music]

She's alive.

Quentin, where's Quentin?

Stay here with Daphne.

I must get Quentin!

[suspenseful horn music]

[door slams]

Carolyn, have you seen Quentin?

Why are you dressed in black?

How else should I be dressed?

There will be a funeral tonight.

[dramatic horn music]

Whose funeral tonight?

Whose?

Quentin's?

You mean Quentin, don't you?

Well answer me!

I did not mention Quentin, you did.

Help me.

You are possessed, but I know that

somehow you have second sight.

You can help me.

You really believe I can?

Is Quentin alive?

So few people believe I really can see

what is happening elsewhere.

Where is he now?

[whimsical flute music]

I see forest.

He is dying, but he does not know it.

Carolyn, we must stop whatever is happening.

Now where is he?

No one can help him now.

Quentin does not want to live anymore.

[wind whirling]

Why did I ever think that you were my enemy?

[whimsical flute music]

You're wrong, Carolyn.

There is nothing to make Quentin want to die.

Not even Gerard would do that.

Carolyn?

Carolyn, do you remember what you were telling me?

Now you saw exactly where Quentin is.

I don't believe that!

I do you a favor and then you turn on me!

Carolyn, everyone's lives are at stake.

Even your own sanity.

What happened to you in the future is a result

of what's happened here.

Now you must stop what is happening!

I cannot stop anything.

Whatever gave you the impression that I could?

I will find Quentin.

[dramatic horn music]

[disconcerting flute music]

Quick.

Quick!

Daphne, Quentin's gone.

Where is he?

What happened here tonight?

What did Gerard do?

Where did he take Quentin?

Quentin's not in this time now.

He lives in Gerard's!

[wind whirling]

Why is this grave unmarked?

Oh I know.

No, no, no, now why can't I remember?

Silas Larch.

Yes, yes, I know him.

He was the ship's chandler before he went bad.

Before he met you.

Miles Pardoe.

Yes, I used to see...

I used to see you and him drinking at the Eagle.

[dramatic horn music]

?

I don't understand, what's happening to me?

Why do I know these things?

[dark cello music]

When I look at you, it all doesn't seem so strange.

But this grave, why does it puzzle me so?

Yes, yes, I know, I know, I must know.

[dramatic horn music]

[wind whirling]

That coffin.

That coffin.

Yes, that is Quentin Collins' coffin.

It is his, I know that.

Did Daphne tell you anything that might help us?

[door knocking]

I must see Daphne, alone.

What do you want from her?

Daphne, tell them to let me see you alone.

Please.

Very well, Carolyn.

Very well.

[door closes]

Barnabas, you shouldn't have.

We may find out what we need to know.

[door locking]

[puzzling xylophone music]

Gerard sent this, but must I put it on now?

Oh not yet, please not yet!

Will the children die too?

No, no I won't put it on!

I won't!

[door knocking]

BARNABAS: Carolyn, open the door!

Open the door, Carolyn!

[door unlocking]

[door opening]

What did you tell her?

Answer me!

Why?

What can you do?

You and Julia, I pity you.

You think you can change everything.

You can't.

Gerard will wave his green flag.

No one can stop that!

Carolyn!

What did she bring you?

Now Gerard is doing this to you.

We know that.

Daphne, you must fight him.

Now tell us what Carolyn brought you.

[wind whirling]

[coffin creaking]

No, I don't want to look, because I'll remember.

I remember.

The coffin, it's empty.

It's empty because Quentin Collins

was supposed to be buried there in ,

but he wasn't and you know,

I keep forgetting why.

[dark cello music]

It is mine, isn't it?

Yes, it's time now, isn't it?

He knows, he knows now!

Who knows?

Now tell me!

He knows, and there's nothing I can do, nothing!

Barnabas!

Will she be there?

Will Daphne be there with us?

Because if she's not, I won't go.

I'm telling you, I won't do it!

You are death.

Whatever made me think that I could run away from you?

Leticia.

I remember the night we danced and sang together.

Do you?

We were so happy for that one moment.

Oh yes.

Oh yes, I remember.

Goodbye.

I remember.

I remember you, and Flora, and Gabriel.

Even Samantha.

I remember.

Oh, oh it hurts.

It hurts to watch!

Why does it have to happen?

Why can't he breathe as I breathe now?

Just as before.

Just as before.

[wind whirling]

[shovel clanking]

[shallow gasping]

[dramatic horn music]

[eerie theme music]
