This is the story of their adventure-filled journey

I'm figuring out which Pokémon to bring along for an upcoming race.

This is what I'm talking about!

It's a race where you take mountain paths and catch Pokémon

while heading for the finish line!

Sounds like it was totally made for you!

Huh? It's happening in the Alola region?

Yeah! I'll go back to Alola and catch tons of Pokémon!

[Goh] It's made to be run in teams.

Ash and Goh have come to a deserted island in the Alola region.

[upbeat music]

-[laughs] -This'll be great!

[both panting]

[both yell]

[both] Excuse us!

Aren't you Ash, the very first Champion of the Alola Pokémon League?

-Huh? -Hm?

Never thought we'd meet around here!

Would you mind if I just shake your hand?

Let's take a selfie!

This is like the coolest thing ever!

So you're the Alola League Champion?

Yeah, I competed in that tournament a while back.

And I guess I kind of won.

[yells]

So why didn't you mention it earlier?

That's amazing!

Guess it sort of slipped my mind.

[boy] Are you taking part in the race too?

Yeah. Along with Goh.

I'm Phil, a member of the All-Out Brothers team!

And we're gonna beat the Champion

and show him just what the All-Out Brothers are all about!

Why, might you ask?

One simple reason…

Those guys sure have spirit!

Guess so…

We're just about to start!

It's the Pokémon Catch Adventure Race!

[all cheer]

The natural beauty of this Alolan island is our stage!

Just how will this race unfold before our very eyes?

Please take a look at the screen!

Here's the racecourse!

Competitors will pass through several checkpoints

before getting to the finish line!

If you haven't caught a Pokémon before you get to the next checkpoint,

then you will not be allowed through that checkpoint!

This year's race is a team race!

Each team must cooperate with their Pokémon

in order to reach the finish line,

and each Trainer will only be allowed to bring three of their Pokémon.

Although it's against the rules to fly on your Pokémon,

you may ride, swim, or use any of your Pokémon's moves.

This year's winner not only receives a trophy,

but also a year's supply of delicious malasadas!

[all cheer]

Since it's a deserted island, we'll take mountain paths,

which can be pretty rough.

Then we'll have to pitch in and work together!

[Grookey and Pikachu chatter]

All right, are all our teams ready to go?

[grunts]

[both scoff]

[Anna] Ready?

You're off!

Here we go!

-Yeah! -Pika.

[both yell]

[all cheer]

[both pant]

[Ash and Goh] Whoa.

[Goh] So the first checkpoint is way up there.

Grookey.

[Goh] Slow down a little, Grookey!

-[Grookey chirping] -[Goh pants]

[grunts]

[Pikachu] Pika.

Guess this path is pretty dangerous.

Well, in that case…

All right, Boldore, go!

Boldore.

That makes sense. Awesome!

Boldore, can we all ride you?

[Boldore grunts]

Let's head up to the top of that cliff!

-Boldore. -Yeah!

[Goh] Good going, Boldore!

-[Pikachu] Pika, pika! -[Boldore grunts]

[Boldore grunting]

And so it begins.

You know the plan, correct?

We're gonna hide along the race route, then steal Pikachu!

Also, we'll steal all of the Alolan Pokémon

that those Twerps catch!

That reminds me…

-Of what? -I wonder how Mareanie's doing.

I hope Mimikyu's as creepy as it ever was.

Hmm. When our mission's through, why don't we go and check in on them?

A capital idea!

Now all we need is a Twerp or two!

[Anna] Our racers need to complete a task in order to get through the checkpoint!

That task is being sent to them via their phones.

-[Rotom Phone beeping] -Huh?

Here!

[Goh] "Task number one: catch an Alolan Geodude."

[Rotom Phone] Geodude. Alolan form.

The Rock Pokémon.

A Rock and Electric type. Most Geodude inhabit mountainous paths.

If they're on mountainous paths…

-They're bound to be around here! -[all grunt]

Pika?

[chirping]

-[Grookey chirping] -[Goh grumbles]

[chirping]

[Grookey chirping excitedly]

-Geodude! -[Pikachu and Grookey gasp]

-There! -Poké Ball, go!

[warbling]

[chimes]

[Rotom Phone] Geodude, Alolan form, has been registered to your Pokédex.

[grunts] I just caught a Geodude!

-Over here! -[Grookey chirping]

[both scoff]

-[Phil] We're going on ahead! -[Goh and Ash gasp]

-After them, Boldore! -Boldore.

-[racer ] Where are they? -[racer ] Try over there!

Presently making their way to the top is the All-Out Brothers team!

But the team of Goh and Ash is right behind!

-Kommo-o! -[both] Huh?

[grunting]

Ah! I can't get it to budge an inch!

[Phil] Fear not!

We've got a plan for just this situation!

[Phil] Now!

Our Z-Move!

[grunts]

Look, folks, it's a Z-Move!

The All-Out Brothers are living up to their reputation!

[both] All out!

Ready for raw power?

It's bright and blazing hot!

All-Out Brothers!

Maximum output!

[both] Ready, ready, ready. Go! Use Clangorous Soulblaze!

-[rumbling] -[both chuckle]

[both scream]

[grunts]

Ready or not, here it comes!

[Phil] You saved our skin back there.

-[Maysure] But! -This race is just getting underway!

and make it through the checkpoint!

Task number two is for us to catch a Bruxish.

A Water and Psychic type.

When Bruxish produces psychic power from the protrusion on its head,

the gnashing of its teeth can create a painful grating sound.

[grunts]

Can you use your Aura power to see if a Bruxish lives somewhere in the lake?

doesn't mean you can always come up with a Z-Move.

and pass the next checkpoint, as the race enters the final stretch!

[Goh] The final task just came in.

We've got to catch a Passimian.

[Rotom Phone] Passimian. The Teamwork Pokémon.

Passimian follow the orders of their boss and make skillful teamwork plays.

They search for berries helping each other as they go.

The thing about Passimian is that they love playing catch.
