This is the story of their adventure-filled journey

through the world of Pokémon.

[Ash] What's going on?

-[Goh] Oh, looks like a race. -[Ash] Cool.

[Pokémon cheering]

[Cerise] And it's happening live from Lilycove City.

The Pokémon Marine Athletic Race.

Pokémon Marine Athletic Race?

The Marine Athletic Race is an obstacle course

that's spread out at the local beach.

[Ash and Goh exclaim]

[Chrysa] You can see there's a lot of excitement on race day,

and it draws a lot of fans.

[Goh] A Vaporeon.

Evee!

Eevee, eveee!

Eevee?

[cheering]

[Ash] Eevee's cheering for Vaporeon.

Well, Eevee could evolve into a Vaporeon.

[gasps]

It's unique.

It doesn't seem to be able to evolve, no matter what stone we try to use.

All Eevee possess unstable DNA from the start,

so it just may be this Eevee's DNA is a little bit more unstable than usual.

[woman] Or perhaps it hasn't found its true path just yet,

and is feeling a little lost.

[Eevee jabbers]

-[all cheer] -Vaporeon wins.

[Eevee gibbers]

You know that Vaporeon and Swampert are said to be fierce rivals.

Wow, you know all about it.

Vaporeon's Trainer and I were friends when we were students.

That explains it.

[crowd applaud]

[announcer] Kiley and Vaporeon. Congratulations on your win.

[Eevee] Eevee.

-[Chloe] Eevee. -Eevee?

-[Chloe] Wanna meet that Vaporeon? -Eevee.

[Chloe] May we go?

I'd like to learn more about this Eevee Evolution.

[narrator] We find ourselves in Lilycove City,

located in the Hoenn region.

A beautiful harbor town with the sea everywhere you look.

So that's the Marine Athletic Race course.

[Ash] Oh, it looks huge when you see it up close.

Like an amusement park right in the water.

Excuse me we're supposed to meet up with Kiley around here.

[staff] Okay. Try checking the area behind that rock.

That's where he usually does his training.

[all] Thank you very much.

Vaporeon.

[all gasp]

[Rotom phone] Vaporeon. The Bubble Jet Pokémon. A Water type.

Vaporeon evolves from Eevee, a Normal type,

into a form adapted for movement in the water.

The cells of its body resemble water molecules,

so it can hide itself in the water as if it had melted into it.

Eevee…

[Kiley] Hello, everyone.

I'm assuming the three of you must be Chloe, Ash and Goh.

[all] Right.

And you must be Chloe's partner Eevee, right?

-Eevee. -Hey, Kiley.

Congratulations on winning the Marine Athletic Race.

[both] Yeah, congrats.

If I heard Chrysa correctly, you wanna know more about Vaporeon, right?

-Man… -[Dracovish breathes heavily]

[Ash grunts]

Gorebyss live near the sea floor.

In spring, when the water starts to warm up, their bodies turn a vivid pink.

So it suddenly occurred to me I should try surfing with it on the board.

its Evolution was simply the natural progression

of where things were already headed.

or if it just doesn't want to evolve right now.

So I wanna learn everything I can about Eevee and its evolved forms

So which one do you want to see Eevee evolve into?

[Rotom phone] Huntail. The Deep Sea Pokémon.

A Water type.

Huntail uses the shape at the end of its tail to lure in foes,

then attacks them with its huge mouth.

[both gasp]

[grunting]

[yelps]

[Chloe exclaims]

Eevee.

[growling]

-Dew. -Vee?

[all gasp]

Dewgong, the cave.

[Dewgong gibbers]

Dewgong!

[Huntail shrieks]

[grunts, yells]

[all exclaim]

[Chloe grunts]

[grunting]

[yelps]

Eevee.

-Vee… -Don't worry about a thing.

I'm sure Ash and Goh are searching for us right now.

[both gasp]

[growls]

[grunting]

-[Kylie] Vaporeon, use Swift. -Vapor!

[Huntail groans]

[yelps]

[Huntail grunts]

What is that? What's going on out there?

-Eevee. -Dew.

[Dracovish grunting]

Really, Ash?

Doesn't it have any other moves stronger than Water g*n?

I'm not sure.

The Water g*n's the only move I've seen Dracovish ever use.

-Hey, Dracovish? Anything else? -Huh?

For example, like Fishious Rend.

-Draco… -Nah, it's okay.

-Dracovish. -Huh?

[screaming] Dracovish!

[Ash] That was awesome, Dracovish.

[all exclaim]

[both panting]

-Chloe. Eevee. -You all right?

[Dewgong groans]

-[Kiley] Watch out. -[all exclaim]

[Huntail grunts]

[grunts]

-[screams] -Eevee.

[Huntail grumbling]

[Huntail grunting]

-[both] You ready? -Mm.

-[Eevee screams] -[Huntail groans]

[Huntail grunting]

I guess Huntail isn't so bad after all.
